My family and I have been coming to The Woodlands Resort for three consecutive years, and it quickly became our go-to destination for mini vacations and celebrating special milestones. Unfortunately, after our most recent stay, we will be looking elsewhere for our new go-to spot. This year’s experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price we paid. Our room had several maintenance issues: there were wasps outside the balcony, three wall outlets did not work, the hot/cold shower handle came completely off, and there was a noticeable section of the ceiling missing inside the shower. To make matters worse, we were charged an additional **$134+** that we could not get an explanation for. We requested an itemized receipt but were not provided one. We called three separate times trying to get clarification, and each time we were unable to get a clear answer regarding the charge. At this point, we are disputing the charge with our bank. After three consecutive years of choosing this resort for our family getaways, it is incredibly disappointing to have our experience decline this much. For the price, we expected a clean, well-maintained room, reliable customer service, and transparency regarding charges. Unfortunately, this stay was not worth the price, and we are very disappointed. We truly enjoyed coming here in previous years, which makes this experience even more frustrating.

    2. Were not able to connect to the wifi. 3. AC in the room was extremely noisy. Had to turn it off to go to sleep during Houston weather in August! 4. Room next door decided to start partying at 3:30AM. There is no quite policy at a certain hour.

We had an amazing stay for our first time at the woodlands. Everyone on the staff were welcoming and the amenities were awesome. The only thing I wish could’ve been better was the ac in our room was working too well and it became hot at nights. Besides that it was great!

The resort was beautiful. The room wasn't clean. Spider webs were in the shower and bugs were crawling inside the room. I had to buy my own products to clean. I asked for my room to be cleaned and no-one showed up. I reported these issues to the property manager and he gave me no resolution.

Arrived by check in time and still waited 2.5 hours for room to be ready. Checked in and no shower curtain, called front office 3 times. Requested on the chat and went to front desk 3 times and ended up changing my trip short. The facility was not cleaned and ended up paying almost $8 for a mini popsicle.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Extremely long lines at check in. Only Valet parking near building ($10 per day parking to park all the way across the road and walk in). Over $500 for 2 nights ($43 additional resort fee per day) for facilities we couldn’t even use due to over crowding. Attempted 6 times in just one day to utilize the pool area, but due to the massive amount of people, failed every time. No seating available, no where to leave my belongings so that I could even get in the water. Paid for an adults only floor (The Canopy) only to hear a screaming child early each morning in the hallway. Definitely won’t book again.

Property is well maintained, however amenities aren’t anything special — should be more dining and beverage options for such a large property. Sleep is impossible when your room is next to the stairwell — be sure to avoid that fate.

I liked the exterior views, the lake, the vegetation, the pool 1)I would prefer, for the hotel to provide electric kettle or microwave ovens in guests rooms.if not for all rooms, then make it an option for guests to be able to request that, because for guests who have kids or toddlers like me,it will definately be helpful,to warm their leftovers or make bowl of porridge at odd hours 2)the fridge in my room, only kept things from not getting hot.lol.it couldnot cool nor freeze yet its summer, you wakeup thirsty inthe middle of the night u want some cold water. Also a little bit bigger fridge would be better. 3)It would be helpful to add toopaste and 2 toothbrushes in the bathrooms. When people travel they tend to forget those little things too.

The staff were friendly. Even when they messed up my check in, they kept apologizing. The room was a good size, clean, with great water pressure in the shower. I believe it was a little overpriced but, we really enjoyed sitting by the lake in the evenings watching the ducks. Upon check in, after I submitted my paid in full receipt from my online booking, they couldn't find me and decided to cancel, refund and rebook me under someone else's name that was similar to mine. Upon checking out, I was still booked in as the other person, after I had already informed them over 3 days that it was incorrect. Food was scarce and very expensive. It was crowded and no where to sit at the pool. We ended up sitting on the ground. Then we went to get in the lazy river (anything but lazy), the hotel was supposed to include innertubes, but there were not enough and most people just walked down the lazy river. There was no wait staff to bring food to you. You had to order up at the bar and stand around and wait for 45 minutes to get your chicken tenders.

One of the umbrellas by the pool was being held up by a tree twig not even a metal pin to safely secure the umbrella. The restroom at the pool really need to be cleaned every hour and for as much as drinks and food cost at the resort they surely do have the finances to hire someone to clean them properly. The water in the tub drained really slowly and the mirrors in the restroom were not cleaning properly.

One of the absolute highlights of our trip was the amazing foam party in the pool. Our children had the time of their lives laughing, dancing, and playing in the foam. Watching them so happy created memories that our family will treasure forever. The entire property was spotless, the atmosphere was peaceful yet full of fun, and everyone we encountered was friendly and professional. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Valentina for her outstanding kindness, warmth, and incredible help throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure our family had everything we needed and always greeted us with a genuine smile. Her exceptional customer service truly made our experience even more memorable. We left with our hearts full of wonderful memories and cannot wait to return. Without a doubt, this is one of the best family-friendly hotels we’ve ever visited. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and fun vacation. Thank you for making our family feel so special! ❤️🌴☀️ Ali&Luis Family

This was our first time staying at the Woodlands Resort. We heard about it from a friend. Overall it was a good experience but there were some minor issues. The check in desk was often over crowded, they tried charging for a roll away bed even though we booked a room for 3 that the website claimed the child would stay free, we never saw an itemized bill to review (not even via email afterwards), the floor under the lounge chairs was dirty (like melted ice cream on your feet), and we never saw waitstaff come to our area (two separate areas) while poolside. Overall, those things weren't a big deal because we were choosing to focus on the positive; however, for a nice resort I would've expected better.

Pool was nice. A lil too crowded. No guards watching the kids in pool area. Kids jumping into the wave pool from up top. Super dangerous. Happened the whole time we were there. Ruined it for other kids wanting to play n the wave pool. Food. Found a wad of long black hair. Like chunks of hair in the bacon. Told someone. They didnt do anything bout it really. We had to twll them to take the whole plate of bacon out of service as its contaminated. Then they brought more out. More than likely same batch. No one came to chk on us or apologize for anything. Very disappointing. We asked for a nice room and explained we had celebrations. They put us n the furthest room back, right by the pool on 2md floor and noisy as all can be. No ty!!! Had to wait for almost half hour just to talk to someone again n change our room due to location. Only had 2 ppl working for chk in and chk out. Long horrible lines and service was extremely SLOWWWWW. Would like a redo of this trip If u can do anything bout it. Was celebrating our bday and anniversary n it just wasnt the great experience we were expecting

I have been coming to this resort over 22 yrs. I normally come Sun-Thurs. We stayed Friday/Saturday night this visit. The resort must have been over booked. We were put in a wheel chair room which was ok except the shower flooded the floor in the bath. The one mat wasn't enough for the amount of water. The cleaning staff took the wet towels however, did not replace the mat. Shower on day two we had to use pool towels. Also, our beds weren't made and the trash taken (yet they took towels so we know they were there!). They also didn't replenish coffee so no coffee on day two or three. Another thing we have never experienced, we arrived at the pool at 11:34am and there wasn't a single chair anywhere. Lots of towels down but no ppl using the chair. We eventually found 1 chair even though there were two of us. No laying out in the chair. Drink cups lined the lazy river with kids running wild. We decided to order food and have a drink so no waiter can find us since we have no chair... we wondered to the outside bar to order. We burned ourselves on the table bc the umbrella's wasn't opened. Stood in line for 30 mins, Ordered Dirty Shirley (had to instruct how to make) and a Pina Colada. Paid then was told it would be 20-30 mins wait for Colada because they had none made. I just asked for a credit. Very Frustrating experience. Not the relaxing trip it normally is. We made our own fun but the resort was a let down for the first time.

They did not clean our room on the second night we were there after I called them to remind them. The sink drain had a clog making the water drain slow. I called them for maintenance to check the drain. The guy came, fixed it, but left the sink dirty. Then since they never came to clean the room, the sink stayed dirty the rest of our stay through checkout. The customer service was lacking and people were not very helpful. We didn’t even know they offered smores in the evenings. My kids would have enjoyed that.

Overall had a great time… that is until the end of our trip. Around midnight we found a gigantic water bug/roach in our room- specifically landing on one of our beds. My husband tried killing it through many attempts until it finally died but the juices from attempted squishing were all over the bed. This thing was like 3in big! We called the front desk for a new bed fitting. They sent two blankets with, I’m guessing a maintenance man, who said he was not in housekeeping and could not change it for us. We called again and this is where it went SOUTH- the front desk man said they were oversold and could not help us. I was left speechless. We had a long stay and paid good money. They couldn’t get us new bed covers and pillowcases?!? He acted as if we were bothering him. Rude. The shock was real. The maintenance man scrambled to try to find bed pieces he could- a pillowcase here, a cover there. He tried and we were appreciative, however I couldn’t shake the absolute horrible service and response. We tried our best to accommodate the bed with what he provided but didn’t rest at all the last two nights. At check out I mentioned it to the lady at the counter- who was incredibly kind, she made a note and I think removed a resort fee. Aside from that one night, all employees were friendly and helpful. Property is beautiful. Food is good. I just wouldn’t expect this type of reaction for this level property- left a sour taste on a return.

We love the pool areas, unfortunately our first two days main pool was closed for repairs so that was a bummer for us. I liked that everything was on one property. Our room wasn’t the cleanest and there was a mildew smell in the bathroom. One of the rooms looked as if the bathroom had been remodeled and the other looked as if it terribly needed an update. I did expect it to be cleaner than it actually was. Also, the main attraction was a large slide. They open and close it depending on weather but when the weather was gone they still kept it closed and one day closed it early. When you have older kids the slide is what they look forward to.

However, there were a couple of issues that kept this from feeling like a true luxury hotel. Within the first few minutes of arriving in our room, we found a cockroach, which was disappointing and immediately affected our first impression. We also felt that housekeeping could have been more thorough, as the room wasn't cleaned to the standard we expected. Overall, we still had a great experience and would recommend the hotel because of its beautiful property, excellent staff, and enjoyable amenities. I just hope the housekeeping and pest control issues are addressed, as fixing those small details would make the experience match the hotel's otherwise high quality.

This hotel was unprepared for the July 4th weekend. The main building had an elevator out of order, so there was only one elevator for the guests and staff to share. The check in and check out process were the worst I've ever experienced. I waited in line for 45 minutes only to find out that my room was not ready. It was after the 4:00 time and I had to get back in line for another 45 minutes to check in later. Then there was a 30-minute wait at the checkout line. The overall resort was nice but there were lots of complaints about the pool area not having enough chairs for everyone. Chairs were being horded by families that were not even using them for most of the day.

The restaurants are far away from the hotel and the food wasn't anything we wanted. We left the property to eat

Always a great stay! The front pool was out of order but the staff was very accommodating. We will happily be back!

However, there were a few downsides. My room did not have a microwave, which would have been convenient. Also, only the lazy river was open during my stay, while two of the pools were closed. The lazy river was enjoyable, but there were quite a few leaves and unattended tubes floating around, which made it seem like it could have been maintained a little better. Despite those issues, I still enjoyed my stay and would consider visiting again if all of the pool amenities were available.

Overall good experience. We were not lucky because the pool was closed due to heavy rain during our stay.

I did not feel the property lived up to its hype. The main pool was not working and the splash pad for kids was not running.

The storm shut down pool but staff kindly allowed extended pool time the following day. We had a great time.

Not worth the cost and lack of the amenities were not working and not communicated ahead of time nor was a discount offered for the outrageous resort fees.

We had an amazing stay at the resort. The staff and waiters were very friendly and helpful. A slight hiccup on the room I booked but the lady at the front desk was able to quickly correct and fix the problem and find something suitable for us.

Thoroughly enjoyed the property with two young boys 8 and 11. They loved playing basketball in the pool. Wife and I were able to get R&R while boys made friends. Staff was great and so were the facilities. Housekeeping was the only weak link but they weren't terrible.

This resort is so peaceful. There are lots of people at the pool, but the grounds and just right for a getaway.

Love this place but when it comes to Summer time I wish the lazy river and pools were doubled. There’s so many people. I love it though. Clean up was lacking around the pool area (cups and towels everywhere) were piled up and I had to throw stuff away to make room for my family. Other than that, always fun, relaxing and amazing!
