Reviews
The hotel received mixed reviews with guests appreciating the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. However, there were consistent complaints about the quality of breakfast, issues with AC units, and some rooms having a musty smell.

The sink and toilet in the bathroom were spotless but the shower had rust, didn't drain fast, and you had to tighten it so hard to turn it off you pretty much are stripping it. The Room itself was nice and very clean. However, the bed was like sleeping on a filling cabinet. That thing was so hard and loud I slept on the love seat. The hall smelt like the carpet was damp from the pool but other wise clean. I do not think we will stay here again. Its not worth the price.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of food and polite servers who were always ready to help. The pool is small but very nice, and the fencing around it makes it especially good for families with kids. The location itself is very pleasant and convenient. It's right next to the bay and very close to NASA entrance. Unfortunately, our room had anissue, we discovered a bucket placed under the AC unit on our last day, and the carpet around it was soaking wet. This likely explains the unpleasant odor we noticed in the room — and even a bit in the hallway. The smell was our biggest complaint but didn't affected our stay. Hopefully this was a one‑off AC problem and not something affecting other rooms, because aside from that issue, the property has a lot going for it.

Old place, more of like a motel than a hotel

The Breakfast could use having a bit more variety

I wish they had a breakfast meat (bacon, sausage, or ham)with their morning meal

They where extremely helpful and gave out great information about the area I wish they had a breakfast meat (bacon, sausage, or ham)with their morning meal

The corridor to the room had a moldy, musty smell. The room smelled moldy, and there was active mold inside the pictures on the walls. The eggs were..........I don't think they were eggs. It was something yellow that could possibly resemble eggs. The breakfast was nothing to write home about and I would have been better off going to Mcdonalds. Check in and check out was very smooth, the people were hospitable and nice, although there was very little if any interaction with staff. The property is clean, parking was excellent and close. Clean the mold from the rooms. It's not a terrible experience, but I would likely not stay here again since there are plenty others now that we know the area.

The hotel is old, run-down, and the owners clearly spend as little money as possible on it. You can feel this neglect everywhere. When I opened the fridge, water spilled out onto the floor. When I tried to close the inside door, the handle completely fell off in my hand. Also, even though the carpet looked newer, it was a dark gray color that made the room feel very sad and gloomy. The breakfast, which other people rated highly, was terrible. The eggs were made from cheap powder, the biscuits were the lowest quality you can find, and the gravy looked so bad it made me sick just to look at it. Even the bananas were totally black and old. To be fair, I will say that the staff did a good job cleaning, and they gave us fresh towels for the second night without us asking. The room was also large. However, those few good things do not make up for the rest of the experience. I will never stay at this place again. It is not worth the price or the high rating. Avoid this hotel and book one of the cheaper hotels nearby—they cannot be any worse than this one. I am going to complain to corporate Best Western customer service about this hotel. It is probably a private franchise, but it makes the brand look very bad. Avoid this hotel!

Room smelled of old carpet. The faucet ran all night. My husband didn't want to stay, but it was too late to find something else.
- 3/5
The hotel had a musty smell. One of the beds was tilting so like sleeping on a hill. Pool was dirty - my daughter cleared out some debris and frogs before using it.
- 4/5
The breakfast was pretty good. Waffles were great, but eggs were a bit dry.
- 5/5
Clean room. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee was the Best!
- 3/5
There was a big mixup when I called to confirm my reservation and spoke with a man. I was told I didn't have a reservation so I registered again since there were 2 days until check in. I was charged anyway for the "non existent" reservation. The female desk clerk was professional but I wasn't happy with the extra charge. Otherwise the accommodations were great.
- 2/5
There is a damp smell in the room and in the corridor. The bed is not comfortable. The towels are old and very stiff, some of them have holes. All the furniture in the room is quite worn out. Breakfasts weren't great either (the orange juice had a very strange taste, like it was spoiled, so everyone who tried it threw it away)
- 1/5
The bed was also awful, felt no better than an old sofa bed. The springs were very hard and uncomfortable, and the platform was a metal platform with no support. When you sat on the bed, you sank all the way down to that platform as well. With the number of decent hotels within just a few blocks, there are plenty of better options.
- 4/5
Clean, sizable rooms. Smelled clean and fresh which makes it better than other hotels in the area at the same price.
- 1/5
Clean room is the only good thing about this place 😌

I had a very pleasant stay here! I was down in Houston for my son’s school trip to NASA and the Kemah boardwalk. I spent about 3 days here and it was enjoyable. It was a pretty fair and affordable price. But that did reflect a slight bit on the quality of the hotel. However what was most important to me and really stuck out was the kindness from the manager he also might have been the owner I’m not completely sure. And the kindness and amazing service I received from the housekeeping staff as well. I was very impressed! The manager was friendly and helped answer my questions. I was out of things for my room at one point and he made sure to restock me with supplies. I remember him pointing us to the pool when we were trying to find it also. He was helpful and friendly. It meant alot! I also loved the housekeeping staff! The super sweet housekeeping staff came to my room every day to help me! They were so kind and thoughtful! They came every day to check on us to see if we needed to throw any trash away they also always restocked me and gave me extra towels as well. That really meant a lot to me! I remember one of the days i was there I believe the manager actually was making the housekeeping rounds and helped assist in helping with housekeeping. I thought that was very nice and involved for a manager to help with housekeeping. I also loved how surprisingly comfortable the beds are here! I had the best sleep ever!
- 3/5
Quite place!
- 3/5
We had a room that had a metal platform bed and every time you moved the metal would pop, all night long. Come to find out next day when leaving others said their beds were great and not metal. Also the water would not shut off in the tub all the way. I went to front desk to tell them about both issues but no one ever came up front so we had to leave. it could have been a great hotel if not for that.
- 4/5
Yes nice
- 3/5
It is okay place for a short stay
- 4/5
The room itself was clean and everything about it was very nice. It’s a very nice establishment though it is 21 or older to book which websites did not say nor was it brought up at all until check-in. Though I understand that some hotels think it’s better. There should be at least something that says you have to be 21 to book.

I picked this hotel because it has charging station! It didn’t work so I spent so much time to go to one and all. The front desk guy you can’t understand what so ever! The hotel was clean thank goodness!

We have a problem with Hotel.com. We wanted to cancel one room, but I was not able to do it. My booking didn’t show up in Hotel.com . I received email of my booking. When I try to edit my booking, link was not working. I tried to look my booking by booking number, it didn’t work. I end up paying two room charges to the hotel instead of one. Why this happened please explain.

We enjoyed our stay! Checkin was very quick and easy. The family suite we stayed in was nice, big and beautiful. The place was clean

I can’t say enough about how great the staff is. They were receptive to concerns that I had and took care of things in very quick manner.

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent. They had many options from biscuits & gravy, eggs, cereal, bagels, toast, yogurt, oatmeal, or Texas shaped waffle you can make fresh. Checking in and out was pretty quick and easy. Good budget hotel for a day at NASA or Kemah Boardwalk.

We stayed at the Kemah Edgewater Hotel, SureStay Collection by Best Western for one night to be close to the cruise departure terminal. The facility is well maintained, though a bit outdated. It met our needs well for a short stay. There was a slight musky smell, likely due to the building’s age, but overall it was an acceptable and convenient option for an overnight stay.🌟🌟🌟
- 2/5
Staff was rude. Charged $10 to check in early when the hotel was empty.

The room was good, and the staff was very friendly. The AC let out a smell at times, but rest no issues.

It is a good motel for people traveling for work , in a bind, or .. it’s far from luxury but it has smoking and non-smoking. Ya, got options.
- 3/5
The room was nice and the location was good. However, I did not appreciate having the staff knocking on my door repeatedly 10-15 mins before checkout. I knew that checkout time was at 11, I did not need or ask for a reminder. The hotel was empty, so there should have been no rush. I’ve never had that happen before and I felt it was unprofessional, unnecessary and somewhat invasive.

Rooms were clean.

It was a pretty normal Stay, aside from the tv having lines thru it and one of our lights not working and our bathroom door couldn’t shut properly. But it was clean

Room was nice, looked clean and felt clean. TV didn't work very well, some apps wouldn't work. The bathroom was missing alot of caulk around the tub and wall.

Some furniture was a little worn but clean rooms and a courteous staff. Better lighting in the sitting area at night is needed.

Clean room, friendly staff. Breakfast needs improvement
- 4/5
AC great. Staff very kind and helpful. Quiet, rarely heard anyone. Room service excellent.
- 5/5
We had a problem with our car. They sent us to a mechanic and had it fix in an hour, on a Saturday.
- 5/5
The hotel just really needs updating and could be kept a little cleaner. The eggs were terrible!! They were cut into small squares and were hard and rubbery. Overall, it was not a bad stay. The staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Excellent, kind and very helpful staff. Sparkling clean facility. Close to water attractions.
- 2/5
The Hotel was very stinky. It had a bad odor throughout the whole hotel. The front desk clerk was rude and prejudiced, even the manager, Danny. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. I will never stay here again!!!

The reservation made on Expedia, inadvertently for the wrong date. Which I did not discover until I received an email asking me to rate my stay. I contacted the Hotel directly, they said to contact Expedia. At first, I regretted using Expedia but when I contacted Expedia, they were helpful. They said they would have to reach out to the Hotel to make an exception, due to the obvious error online. Expedia reached out while I was on the line with them and this was the response "Thank you for patiently waiting. I was able to spoke with the supervisor at the hotel and it breaks my heart to share this information with you and despite my best effort they are not allowing us to issue a refund. They told me that there will be no refund and any excuses..." This response goes beyond the online error, beyond the often caveats of working through a third party (Expedia) and lands right on human unforgiveness and greed. Thank you Expedia for helping me to decide to blacklist this Hotel whenever I am in the area.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and if ever again in the area I would stay there and definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Great value for the money.

Front desk staff upon check-in was not very friendly at all. The room had a bad smell that we noticed immediately. During breakfast hours, the dining area had a smell as though they had just wiped down everything with dirty towels. We realized as we were leaving breakfast that they had left a giant hamper of (I assume) dirty sheets or towels right outside the door of the dining area. Will not be staying here again.

Location perfect for us, close to Kemah, great breakfast, all convenient. Room nice King with sofa bed. The overnight stay was perfect.
- 2/5
Mirror in bathroom was taped up where it was broken on edges. Our TV was not working and a remote was missing, although the night attendant was nice and she came and got it working. Actually had to play with wires for it to come on. The room was musty and smelled. Breakfast was what you would expect from a lower star hotel. Just not that good. We were in handicap accessible room that had a tub. (Should have had a walk in shower) I could therefore not have a shower for 2 days until I returned home.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the pool and breakfast.
- 5/5
We had a great stay.. our 2nd time to stay here and will be back when we visit family again. Staff was friendly, clean rooms, really comfy king bed, cleaning crew was very nice, breakfast was good, did not see one bug, no weird smells, I traveled alone with my daughter and felt very safe.
- 1/5
This is the WORST place to stay at. My family had the most unpleasant experience at this hotel with their rooms and poor service. The manager yelled at me, kept putting his hand in my face, and was speaking over me to my husband. Both rooms we reserved smelled terrible, bedsheets and carpets were wet which we explained to the front desk which they tried to blame on their use of air freshener- but if it was the air freshener that made everything damp then the room would smell good? The AC device in one of the rooms started smoking when we turned it on. Unsafe hotel, rude management, I would rather sleep on the street than go anywhere near that hotel. The police had to get involved and they told us that they have issues with this hotel all the time and that it was one of the lowest quality hotels in the area.
- 3/5
The manager was nice, wouldn’t give me a receipt at check in or out after I asked, the property smelled musty or like water damage. The ice machine was missing upstairs, the breakfast wasn’t available during the time listed.
- 4/5
The check-in was fast, room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall a good experience.
- 2/5
The manager guy was not very friendly either. There are ways to ask for things without having to be rude about it. While I understand that checkout is at 11am, sometimes with little kids it’s not always that simple. Things happen at the last minute and as a parent you have to tend to it. 12 minutes past the checkout time the manager guy was loudly knocking at the door demanding we leave. Again, is how you talk to people. Overall, it was not very pleasant. We stay at hotels at least once every month and we will not be staying at this hotel. Stay away.

Breakfast was OK (barely)

The hotel has been updated and felt very clean. It was a comfortable stay. The a/c unit was having a hard time cooling off and the smell was musty, probably needed the filter changed. Over all it was clean.
- 1/5
Very rude staff and manager.
- 4/5
The room smelled like old water and the pool needs to be cleaned.. other than that it was a great experience
- 3/5
Nice property, if you have more people in your party other than what’s listed they charge you an extra 10 a night fee. On our first night we found a baby roach on our pillow. Other than that it was a pretty good hotel.
