The Westin was not initially interested in recognizing breakfasts paid in advance on expedia. I will never do that again. Noise from room next door was bothersome .Front desk impossible to reach from room phone. Front desk did not call back as they said they would about my hotel charges. A full time hassle for us. Felt more relaxed after checking out

Gorgeous, clean rooms, the staff was very friendly and helpful and very convenient to the best parts of the river walk and close to the Alamo. What more could you ask for?

Was not happy that there were not very many options between breakfast and dinner for food. You have on the website that you have a restaurant. If you don’t get up for breakfast, you have the small coffee place with snacks for food and that’s it! I’m Gluten Free so not much there….

The room was dirty. The bathtub was white but left dirty with visible black traction marks from feet and body dirt. Ceiling had numerous water stains with obvious leaks that had penetrated the ceiling snd on to the floor. The shower leaked out and onto the bathroom floor and under the bathroom door which flooded the entry. The AC was broke and the room was steaming hot. I went down to the front desk to report and showed the lady several pictures. Bathroom tub, ceiling leaks and actual holes within the ceiling. Super disgusting as this was my anniversary trip and of course trying to impress or at most simply have a relaxing time as we both have high volume, stressful jobs…amongst raising teens. The front desk said they would accommodate by switching rooms at no cost and give us a $100 voucher to spend at the hotel for the inconvenience. The room change happened, the voucher was never granted as I double checked out check out statement. I’ve stayed on several properties on the River Walk throughout the years. This by far has been the worst experience. One last thing. Parking! Only option is to valet. A cording to the digital sign posted, valet over night is only $70. Typical for any downtown location right? Read the fine print if you’ve anything but a midsize or compact car. You’ll be charged an extra $10 for SUV, Truck etc. Rediculious!

It is a beautiful property right on the riverwalk walking distance to everything you'd need. My balcony room on the 8th floor corner was perfect though there was a very musty smell to the room at first. I think that might be a condition of the location being in such hot weather though as they offered another room which has the same smell. Wasn't that much of a bother and over the next hour or so the smell dissipated. The front desk was very accommodating. Have the bolognese at Zocco restaurant; it's excellent. My only complaint is that I had to call housekeeping every day (literally) to get my room cleaned. And then on the last day, when I wanted to sleep in, they were knocking on the door at 9 AM to clean the room ... on the day I was checking out? They need to work on communications between the front desk and housekeeping as it seems information is not being sent or received. Other than these few inconveniences, it was a very nice stay.

One day the cleaning staff only made one of the beds in the room.

Location was excellent AA) Beds are small, BB) Parking was very expensive, CC) I booked a double room for three nights, with check-in on July 23, 2026, and check-out on July 26, 2026. The booking included breakfast. However, on the morning of July 26, I was required to pay for breakfast because the restaurant staff insisted it was necessary. Please find the attached receipt for your reference. I would appreciate it if you could clarify why I was charged for breakfast, even though it was included in my booking and paid for in advance. Your kind clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The hotel needs to paint the rooms interior and update furniture in lobby. The hotel is looking very worn for a 4 star hotel.

Great location, poorly maintained. Room safe did not work, had to use hotel safety deposit box which staff could not open readily. There were several other maintenance issues. Staff was responsive but didn’t really seem too concerned about fixing issues.

The pool had a great view of the city, and it was easy to access the river walk.

Our room was not as cold as I would like but overall it was a nice place.

paid extra for river view and room 713 overlooks the pool do we couldn’t enjoy the river from our patio. Disappointed in the lumpy pillows and comforter was very heavy and difficult to manage. Bathroom shower bad design water gets all over the floor

The room was very damp and humid and uncomfortable and the “queen” beds were very small.

Disappointing stay they don't make up the room during the day.

Irene was amazing. She gave great customer service at the front desk. From her Excellent welcome and on boarding, the whole weekend was very special. I wish you could also track down the maid that was cleaning the rooms Saturday, July 4. She spoke all Spanish. She was cleaning a room a few doors down on our side of of the hotel. We need a towels for that night and even though she didn’t speak English, she listened and she understood with my little Spanish. She not only brought me types of towels, but she brought toiletries, which was such a nice touch. I did leave her a tip in the room. I tried to find her when we came back that day, but she was already done with our floor her and Irene were amazing. Well done team.

540 was a great room! It has a balcony that overlooks the river walk.

Not what I was expecting for the $$ staff was nice the room was okay it needs to be cleaned better especially the bathroom and shower it also felt outdated the way they built the shower doors with a big gap the water gets out. The balcony was smaller than expected they only provided one chair in a room that accommodates two people!

We left to go to breakfast and do some shopping we came back at 2 and no one cleaned our room of gave us fresh towels I had to complain at front desk and they finally came at 4 pm I will never be staying at the Westin in San Antonio riverwalk ever again

$60 to park on the property. $40 and $25 across the street. $10 2 blocks away. Wonderful area The Riverwalk. Plan on walking everywhere... 10 min walk.

Great location. We were able to walk to many sites. The parking garage is directly across the street. If you do not want to pay the valet rates, you can just download the Parkit app and pay directly and you'll save $20 per day. The hotel is just off the main vein of the Riverwalk which is very nice. Much quieter than being on the Main vein with all of the traffice and restaurants. Nice decor and upkeep. (Minus the pride flags everywhere.) Everything was clean and well kept. The negatives: Do not get a city view room. The road noise is terrible. Both nights were filled with drag racing and revving engines. We were on the 7th floor and the noise lasted into the middle of the night. Maybe if you book the Riverwalk side it will be quieter. The breakfast is very expensive, but if you go next door to The Contessa, you can get a better breakfast for a better value. The pool area has limited seating and we were not able to enjoy the amenities there because there was no room for us. If you are sensitve to harsh smells, the lobby is unbearable. They constantly have it smelling very strong. I could not stay in the lobby at all because the fragrance was so unbearable. It wasn't like that in our room or other areas of the hotel.

We were on the 11th floor with a riverwalk view. The hallway felt damp & had a milder musky odor. But the room had a strong musky/moldy/mildewy smell & felt damp. We asked to change rooms, same problem. We used a floor fan but it didn’t help. The ventilation system blew out musty/moldy/mildewy smell which could be detrimental to health, especially if a person is immunocompromised. From outside looking up, we could see steaks of mold going down the brick along several rooms, including ours. Whether or not that is related to the smell in the room, it didn’t help/looked bad. I asked my concern to be forward to management before we left. I think more should be done to fix the smell before it causes something serious. The main lobby was fine, employees were friendly, and the location was great. So it was disappointing to have the dangerously strong smell situation in the room. For that reason, I CANNOT recommend the Westin on the River Walk.

Close to all the attractions

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The hotel has plenty of great spaces to relax and hang out, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Its location right on the River Walk is perfect, with easy access to restaurants, bars, shops, and attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again.

Parking was extremely limited. Valet or parking garage across the street for 40 a day.

Hair on the bathroom floor, shower door leaks onto the floor when I reported to the front desk they told me it was normal in every room due to poor design. They said "that's why we leave extra towels in the bathroom". Coffee stand is long wait times and only 1 clerk. Coffee machine in room was dirty and they offer cheap coffee and no creamers. Carpet was smelly also. $800 for 2 nights was a waste of money.

Great Stay and great location!

This hotel is well located on the Riverwalk and within a short walk of most downtown attractions ( including the Alamo) and restaurants. The staff is fine. The property looks a bit rundown and old. Our room was overlooking the Riverwalk with a small balcony, which was nice, but the room could use a thorough cleaning. Our companions room had a leaky bathroom, and when we checked in we overheard a couple requesting and receiving a room change because their room was not clean and had a bad smell. The coffee kiosk had a decent range of items for breakfast. The onsite restaurant was ok but expensive for breakfast.

Great customer service the layout of the hotel was nice and gave easy access to the riverwalk the hotel team was very helpful and accommodations were on point.

Hello, I would like to file a formal complaint regarding my stay. First, our balcony has been unusable due to a bee infestation, which has created both a safety concern and a significant inconvenience during our visit. Additionally, our room was not serviced today. Despite calling the front desk several times, the bed was not made, and housekeeping did not arrive until approximately 6:30 PM. This level of service is unacceptable and falls well below the standards reasonably expected during a hotel stay. These issues have significantly impacted our experience, and I am requesting an appropriate resolution for what has been a very disappointing stay. I would appreciate a prompt response regarding how these concerns will be addressed.

Pool said it was heated it was not, and too cold to go in. There was construction one night so loud that we couldn’t sleep and the Concierge said they had no idea what we were talking about and made no report or compensation.

our room had a leak in the bathtub, and the ac was not working to the full capacity but our stay wasn't spent in the room majority of the time we were out and about so it wasn't a big issue for us, we love the beds and the comfort of it, great location easy walk to the riverwalk and the shops. we stay here frequently!

Wonderful, well trained and attentive staff. I was hospitality mgmt with Marriott Corp in the eighties and was quite impressed with the training and overall courtesy this staff displayed with my every encounter during our stay.

Very pretty Hotel, maintained wonderfully. Great food and beverage options, right on the Riverwalk, super great staff. We would go back anytime.

The rooms were clean however the shower had rust and mold at the base. The elevator took over 10 minutes to arrive due to many guests. Took the stairs which had old furniture packed in areas. Hard to find the exits due to lack of signage.

We enjoyed our stay at the Westin Riverwalk. Room was clean, comfortable and generously sized. The issue with the air conditioner was promptly resolved. Staff were excellent. Great location. Using the valet service is recommended.

If you are going to stay in San Antonio the Westin is the only option, most of the cool stuff is within a mionutes walk, the valet service is crazy efficient.

Ballet parking is a complete mess. They charge you depending on vehicle type or brand (I guess). If you can, just drop your bags in the front and park on your own.

I absolutely loved the Westin Riverwalk hotel. It’s gorgeous! The staff was incredibly friendly, the rooms were nice, especially the ones with a balcony view of the river. The beds were amazing! Parking was beyond easy. The garage is right across the street, so you can valet or self-park. I give this hotel ten out of ten!

The staff was absolutely wonderful, the riverwalk setting with the holiday lights glistening off the balcony patio doors was magical. Pay the extra to have a room on the riverwalk side with the outdoor patio, it’s was well worth the enjoyment, especially during the holiday season. The hotel and rooms were fabulous and the location was easy to walk to many places. We had a wonderful trip!
