Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its friendly staff, cleanliness, and convenient location near the Alamo and Riverwalk. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the valet-only parking situation and the quality of breakfast.
- Friendly staff
- Clean and well-maintained rooms
- Valet-only parking can be inconvenient and expensive
- Breakfast quality is hit or miss

Right in the middle of downtown close to everything Valet parking
- 4.5/5
Wide selection for breakfast, the staff was helpful and easy to talk to, knew our names on the 2nd day of stay. The service staff, Christina, was especially prompt. Our room was cleaned everyday. Expensive parking fees. This is nit picking, …. slow elevators. Some noise from the banging of doors from the other rooms. The TV didn’t always work.

Great stay! We've stayed here a number of times. There is valet parking which is about $40 a night but we had a view from our room to our vehicles. Its also walking distance from the Alamo, Mall & River walk

the location and breakfast were good. I would stay again for a couple of days. Room was quite small for 4 people. queen bed and sofa cama.

The staff was very friendly, especially the staff during breakfast! They made sure we had everything we needed. Love the three waffle makers. I also love the rooms. They were very spacious. Overall we will definitely return. The parking fee was way too high

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The breakfast was great. We would come back here again.

Great location, easy access to mall and river walk. Breakfast was good and simple. Daily eggs and bacon or sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt. All Staff was friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Clean, Staff was very attentive and Great Location to river walk! Hot tub was broken was the only negative
- 5/5
Shower pressure was awesome! Air-conditioning fairly quiet, great choices on breakfast buffet and room was very spacious. Too bad we only stayed one night.
- 4/5
Pool was dirty with pigeon feathers and there was a dead bird in the pool area.
- 5/5
It was super close to the main city and breakfast was amazing. Parking limited and we have to use valet. Middle of the night the fire alarm sets off.
- 3/5
Staff, breakfast and valet was great.
- 4/5
Location good and personal was very fruendly
- 3.5/5
I liked the location of our room. I also liked that the hotel was within walking distance of the sites we wanted to see. Valet Parking was prompt and took good care of my car. It felt like it was in a safe area. I wish it would have stated that we would have had a shower vs a bath tub. I have a toddler with me and he isn't used to taking showers so it was kind of difficult. I don't think the AC in our room was working correctly. The ice machine on our floor was not working so I had to go up a few floors to find one that worked.

The room was nice and clean! Breakfast was great. I didnt not like that I paid for a queen suite with 2 beds and they gave me a queen suite with 1 bed. I wasnt not aware of the switch until we got to the room. Spoke to desk and they said they had to switch it and would not be switching it back. They had unexpected stay overs. Im not understanding why if someone has a room reserved why they let someone eles extend there stay in the room?
- 4/5
The water pressure was inadequate to the toilet, and a/c unit turned off at 3:30 am, other than that nice place..

. We had a reservation in a weekend where there was going to be a concert in the city, at our arrival the front desk personal was rude, we arrived at 3:50pm for check in and told us to hold on until 4pm when rooms become available, then new visitors arrived and they were getting rooms while we were waiting, had us waiting for 2 hours (never explained what the issue was, we asked several times) until the front desk employee from next door hotel (Fairfield) offered us a room (smaller room), both hotels are managed by Marriot, they even shared the same pool and they are connected internally. Springhill suites (where we reserved via booking), Fairfield where we ended up staying, but the room was not the same, probably not same price and had to wait at least 2:30hrs at the end to gain access to a room. Poor communication from the Springhill front desk woman, so in general a bad experience, as we arrive the day we were heading to the concert and we weren't even sure if we were going to comeback from the concert with a room assigned. Regarding Fairfield hotel it was clean, good breakfast.

Always clean and the breakfast is always good! This last time I went there I had a small issue with my card being charged twice but they fixed it for me quickly.
- 5/5
Love that it’s walkable distance to all the places I needed to visit. Great staff and love the room.
- 4/5
I recommend staying because they have 2 beds and sofa bed, which is good for a family with a teenager.
- 5/5
Super nice and clean !! Staff friendly with a smile ( don’t see that very much anymore). 😊
- 4/5
All of the staff were sweet and helpful. There were lots of options at the breakfast, that was nice. The hotel room had a bad smell, the loft mattress was gross, it was coming apart, not something you woukd want your kid to sleep on. Public parking was far or not available so you have to pay for vallet parking which is an extra 45.00, they charge a 50.00 deposit which they apply the vallet parking and will refund you the difference if there is nothing wrong with your room. There was also a tiny roach in the kitchen area. Not the best option to stay at.

Great, safe place in a central location three blocks from the Alamo and river walk. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend this place for families.

We had a great stay, good breakfast. The room and building are in excellent conditions I’ll stay here again when I’m back in San Antonio.
- 3/5
Rooms could be a lot cleaner and house cleaning struggled with getting clean sheets and towels having multiple guest waiting on checking in on time
- 5/5
Staff were helpful and kind! Truly enjoyed our stay there.
- 5/5
Todo el servicio excelente. 100% recomendable.
- 3/5
Great location. Great clean hotel. Had to ask for towels maid service very minimal Valet a bit pricey but it’s in all hotels would stay there again for sure!!

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are so spacious and clean. Enjoyed my stay

Clean room. Friendly staff
- 3/5
Pool is ok, it doesn't stay in the sun very long as it sits between two buildings. The hot tub was not functioning correctly, the buttons don't work and it was just warm water, it was 90 degrees out. The workout room was small with equipment shoved in there so really other than biking or walking you can't do much else if anyone else is in there with you. The floor was incredibly noisy at all hours of the day and night. Two nights in a row the fire alarms were tripped and for prolonged times. The other visitors on our floor had multiple screaming matches and despite saying something to the front desk twice, nothing was ever done. You can hear every rev of an engine or honk outside on the street below so recommend bringing ear plugs or headphones if you are sensitive to noises while you sleep.
- 3/5
Housekeeping never came by our room. The fire alarm went off four times between 8pm and 11pm two nights in a row. When we requested for housekeeping to come by, they left the door open to our room. The elevator floors were left very sticky all day. I was not impressed by the overall cleanliness, especially in the bathroom. There is only Valet parking which is another $39 a day that is not included in the listed price. You are required to pay a $150 security deposit upfront even if you’ve already paid for your reservation. Maybe that is a reflection of the type of guest this hotel receives? Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The front desk responded very quickly to our request for housekeeping and the valets were very attentive. However, we would not come here again.

The hotel was clean and had a friendly staff. The complimentary breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Best of all, was the convenient location.

Carpet on the floor appeared clean but bathroom floor had sticky pee stain around the toilet, I noticed two different bugs on the bathroom floor in the morning. Breakfast is reasonable. Friendly staff.

Nice
- 3/5
Rooms were clean and breakfast was good hotel staff were helpful. Parking is valet and cost $45usd per day so if you stay one night they count it as 2 days we got charged $100 for one night. I've stayed here before and the valet parking was free. To me this is a scam cause you really don't have any other options unless you want to risk getting towed on the curb side street. I won't be staying here ever again due to this.
- 5/5
It was a great place to stay the breakfast was good. Will be staying there again
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
Room was clean
- 4/5
The staff was very nice but the hotel just seemed run down. It wasn’t really bad by any means but it certainly wasn’t as nice as other hotels I’ve stayed at. The room was pretty bare and didn’t have all the extras that other hotels typically have. The gym was very run down. The hot tub was broken for the first day we were there and the next it was fixed but was colder than the pool. For the price it was okay.
- 1/5
The fire alarm went off four random times, twice in the middle of the night at 3 and 4 am while we were sleeping. There was an empty alcoholic drink in the closet that did not belong to any of us. No lotion or hand soap. Staff was friendly. Will probably not stay here again.
- 5/5
Front staff was extremely nice
- 5/5
Yes, the breakfast is fresh and amazing. Shopping is convenient - there is a HUGE Rivercenter shopping mall right across a parking lot.
- 5/5
Nice pool.
- 5/5
I will definitely stay here again everything was great.
- 5/5
Nice area not too far from riverwalk
- 5/5
Was excellent
- 3/5
The hotel was half empty but, we got the rooms a=on the 1st floor. 0 privacy. They said: "we can give you any room for your price" though it was not cheap (there were way cheaper places around but, we expected a kitchen and got none). The trick with the parking is sad. We had to carry our bags to the parking lot behind anyhow as the attendant did not want to bring the car in front, Also, during check-in, the car was taken to the parking lot before we had finished the unloading. The attendant was very unhappy to bring it back. The hotel location is poor and you need to walk a distance to get to the "walk". The room was never cleaned during our stay. I have stayed in San Antonio before and this one was my worst. It is not horrible but, you can get better.
- 5/5
Walking distance to Riverwalk and attractions. Room comfortable. Exercise room nice
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. Staff super friendly. Valet prompt and professional. Great location
- 4/5
House Keepers did a nice job.
- 4/5
$40 for parking per night unless you find street parking which is hard.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room and close to Alamo and Riverwalk allowing for walking.
- 5/5
Spotless and Excellent Staff. Very nice and accommodating.
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
The room is great. The only thing bad is that there is no free parking at the hotel or near the hotel. Parking is ~$25 per day.
- 4/5
Great location , large room and great amenities
- 5/5
Great staff, nice hotel.

Hot tube was not working, room had very poor lighting and the air circulation was not very good. I have stayed at other Spring Hill suits but this one seemed to be neglected and needs to be updated. There were no draws for your clothing as well.
- 3/5
The only overhead light was near the door other than than it was lamps that took up most of the available plugs. Our room smelled like weed
- 3/5
The room was clean and staff was friendly.
- 5/5
The staff were very good and friendly would stay here again .thank you for a great sta
- 2/5
Booked a room way in advanced suite with 2 beds and they sold my room my kids sleeping on the floor with one room!!
- 5/5
Clean rooms & friendly front desk
- 4/5
Close to shopping, Riverwalk, fire museum, dining , valet parking, quiet inside, the usual free breakfast, one elevator not working so waiting on elevator a lot because it's small and full, staff was friendly and helpful , would probably stay again.
- 3/5
Only one working elevator that moves very slow and could not keep up with the crowds waiting to go up or down.
- 3/5
Breakfast menu didn’t have any fruits except bananas, no plain yogurt and hardly any healthy options for vegetarians.
- 2/5
Carpets filthy, bedroom dark, bathroom dark, only one mirror in room -just the bathroom and is too distant to see anything up close, elevator broken, used stairs because wait time for elevator was atrocious, very limited breakfast menu I an overcrowded dining area. However, the front desk and valet personnel were very nice, and the breakfast staff was excellent in terms of friendliness, keeping things in excellent order and supply, and kept the food counter and coffee station very clean.
- 5/5
Our stay was very good and safe. The staff is very helpful and polite.
- 2/5
The breakfast was very disappointing. No variety. Bacon was a no show and no potatoes.
- 3/5
It is ridiculous that the parking space is charged!!! $39 per day! You better look for a different hotel that includes the service to their guests. Their breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Breakfast is good.
- 5/5
Everything excellent.
- 5/5
The room had plenty of space bed was clean and very comfortable love the valet and staff was very kind

The lady working on Sunday the 21, at night . Front desk , she went above and beyond, we had a medical emergency my wife had to go to emergency room. The person helped ease my anxiety, very compassionate and professional. Thank you again

DON'T STAY HERE! This was my worst hotel experience ever. From staying in a room overlooking a busy and loud street, walking up and down 3 flights of stairs due to a broken down elevator during a busy holiday season, having no parking except for their ridiculous $37/night valet parking, to, best of all, having an item stolen from my room. I left my room quickly on our 2nd day there and failed to hide my Kindle before leaving for the day. When we returned to the room that afternoon, the Kindle was gone. Of course, no one who entered my room for housekeeping knew anything about it, and the hotel management was completely indifferent to the issue. When I checked out, the hotel printed a receipt for my stay, but then they put through a charge for $111 more than that receipt stated. DO NOT STAY HERE!
