I understand a no refund policy and giving cheaper rates for booking as such, but sometimes it doesnt hurt to help someone out in an emergency and refund them for missing a stay at your property due to a mrdical emergency

The purpose for our stay in the medical area of San Antonio is because my 81 year old mother was having a heart ablation and we didn't want to drive the three hours home following her outpatient procedure. Upon arriving back at the property after her hospital stay, the toilet in our room would not flush. It would fill up the the rim but not go down. I went to the front desk to notify them and was given a plunger. This was at 7pm. I worked and worked to clear the clog but finally gave up at 10pm because we were both exhausted from the long day. I returned to the front desk to let her know it didn't work and the clog was still there. I asked for another room and was told we would just have to use the restroom in the lobby. That was unacceptable. My mother has limited mobility and was recovering from surgery. I then insisted we get another room. We were given another room but by the time we got our belongings moved and my mother situated it was around 11pm. Mind you we had been up since 5:30am!! I have stayed at the Sonesta property located in downtown San Antonio and was very impressed. Sonesta ES.....not so much!!

We were given a room on the second floor. We were not made aware they were renovating and it smelled terrible!

Our stay overall was good. Nothing to special but nothing terrible. I will say there was dog feces on the floor of our room but nothing I couldn’t handle myself, but maybe check rooms a little more thoroughly.

Horrible stay, dirty ant infested rooms, no cleaning service, overall horrible place to stay at.

As soon as we got to the place there was confusion regarding my reservation then i needed to leave a 100$ deposit for each room and for some reason they were having issues with my card i paid with a second card, i ended up being charged twice so i had 4 100$ holds, then our rooms were not equipped with towels or sheets/blankets for sofa bed, second day there were fire ants on sofa bed and kitchenette, they never cleaned the rooms even though we requested twice their answer was they were short staffed we never received fresh towels both rooms ended up with fire ants infestation, we couldnt use phones because the lines were dead, horrible experience NEVER again

We chose this hotel for the location, kitchen in room, hot breakfast, and pool. Well let’s start with on arrival we were told the pool was closed for cleaning and never reopened the entire trip, we had to walk across the street to use one at another hotel which was honestly a little uncomfortable and we walked back after about 10 minutes. Next we had an issue entering our room and once we got in, we attempted to open the door to get out and the door handle completely came off trapping us in our room. Phone would not call the front desk for help and when using our cell phone the number said disconnected. Window only opened about 2 inches to attempt to call out to someone, luckily within an hour my family arrived to inform the front desk we were trapped in our room. I do have photos and a video of this incident. Staff rescued us and we were given a new room, they were very friendly no complaints on them. The second room we moved to had roaches in it and I also have photos and videos of that. When walking the halls, they must be doing construction because there were loud fans blowing and floors ripped up. Also no air conditioning in the hall wall which was grossly uncomfortable to walk down. Lastly, we had a toddler with us and requested multiple times for our room to be cleaned and it never happened, having one small trash can filled up after two changed diapers so we had to make our own trash bags from our shopping trip. Overall we were just highly disappointed with the building itself, lack of cleanliness, and pool that was never opened. We would not stay here again!

Pésimas instalaciones, tuvieron un siniestro recientemente y no aceptan que no están en condiciones de recibir huéspedes, además de que los baños estaban en mal estado, decepcionado completamente, he visitado varias localidades de sonesta y no me había pasado, no vuelvo, ademas en una ocasión regresamos a la habitación y nuestras pertenencias estaban en desorden, también me toco ver como ingresaba una trabajadora sexual con un huésped.

The location It was not the room seen on the website. I reserved a two bedroom with 2 queen beds and 1 king bed. Instead, I got a 2 bedroom with 1 queen bed and 1 king bed. Good thing there was a pull out couch.

Great stay

Very competitive rate in regards to the amenities it provides. Staffs are very helpful and friendly. But the facility appears to be a little worn out.

1. The ac was not working and we had to get the maintenance multiple times to fix it 2. The pool was out of service the entire time 3. The sheets had dust mites because i woke up with my eyes matted shut and red and i had to use eye drops 4. The tub had a big whole on the wall that was in repair but patch work not completed 5. The door to the room would not close properly and kept getting stuck 6. The hotel had a bad odor and smelled like a combination of mold and wet dog I asked for credit for 2 nights but management refused I emailed the manager and she never reaponded.

There are those terrible small roaches.

First encounter, front desk lady overcharged me. Room was already paid through expedia and she charged me 2 days, when I asked about why I was being charged she says room had not been paid, then realizes it had, she cancels it and then tries charging my card the $100 my account ends up being flagged as fraud and I am I a unable to use my card our entire stay while in SA. Upon entering the room, looked nice. After unloading, we noticed small roaches all around the sink/coffee area. Later we saw them in the living area behind the chair. We used the microwave later in the evening where again...larger roaches were in there. Roaches crawling across the bedroom ceiling. My granddaughter walked around and later we noticed her feet were black! We went to the tub to wash her feet and for some reason absolutely NO cold water came from the faucet. The water was scorching hot! I took a shower later in the evening without feeling any cold water coming out that way either. We had to let the water set there a good 30 minutes for the little ones to be able to bathe. Carpets feel super sticky when walking barefoot. There was a note pool was getting cleaned when we arrived Wednesday at check in and was told it would be open Thursday and it was not...it was closed all day Thursday as well. Husband enjoyed breakfast. (It wont allow to to post video of roaches on ceiling)

I've stayed here for a few years when I visit my brother who lives a stone's throw from the hotel. My room didn't have a working tv, so they gave me another room. The 2nd room the door would not open and they couldn't open it. The third room the thermostadt would not lower, so someone had to be sent to fix it, he was very nice. I'm not a fussy guest but the staff was literally annoyed with me. When I got home my credit card had been used in Turkey fraudulently. I can't say it was the hotel but I barely used it anywhere else. I will probably stay elsewhere the next time I visit my brother in San Antonio.

Great stay! We arrived on a Friday and left Sunday morning. We booked a queen suite and it was just the right amount of space for 2 of us. Would highly recommend this property if you are wanting to stay away from downtown and don’t want to break the bank. The hotel was very clean and staff at the front desk were helpful. Breakfast was great and a lot of seating. Over all 10/10

Such a nice room. There's a small stove top, dishes, and more for your visit. The rooms are nice. Beds are comfy. Love this place.

Need better pillow. No extra blankets for the sofa

I dont know why, but the toliet was VERY short. And apparently that type is used throughout a lot of the area of the hotel. I did not order a handicap room, but that type is extremly unhelpful to anyone, in my opinion, with no bars to help rise up. And men better have a better aim than they usually would have to have.

Check-in went quickly and the room was well-cooled when i entered it. The property is slightly shabby but clean. The price was right and it was quiet and peaceful even though it’s a block from the interstate. The breakfast offering was diverse, tasty and well-presented. Kudos to the staff person who prepared and tended to the breakfast area.

Hotel is dated and could use some upgrades. Curtains were shredded and walls are thin. Other than thaT, it’s a decent place to stay on a budget.

Great clean place to stay.

The room was very clean and mostly comfortable. The bed was a bit soft for me, but the wife liked it. We had to turn off the AC and turn on the heater for a bit since someone had set it to 64 degrees. The room was able to be controlled to the temperature we preferred after that. While the elevator, as noted by others, is small, it is still big enough to fit me, my wife in her wheel chair, our various luggage, and still had room available for other guests. Other than the bed, the only problem we had was that the hair dryer was not working. I did let the staff know about it during checkout. Overall, we would stay here again if in the area.

Everything was good just loud noise at night in the wall i guess pipe was loud keep me up and a/c was off sometime and hard sleep comfortably from time . And windows didn't really have good sun block view you work up with sun in your eyes.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and kind. My son loved the basketball court as well.

I had a 5 day stay at the hotel from a Sunday to Friday. On the Wednesday of my stay the hotel shut off the water for 8 hours from 11a to 7p. I was told at first when I called the front desk it was going to be turned back on at 2p. Then 2p came and they said another 30 minutes then I went to the front desk at 3p they claimed another 30 minutes. I asked 5 times and got the run around. I couldn’t use the restroom, shower and the front desk supervisor Carmain said she was sorry the inconvenience and that the manager April said she can give 15% discount for the day. I spoke to April on the day of check out and she was rude, so when I said she was going to get a low rating review she just shrugs her shoulders and says it is what it is. I would recommend going to another hotel than choosing Sonesta International hotel at this location. Don’t waste your time. 15% off for being without water practically the majority of the day is an embarrassment, Sonesta International hotel DO BETTER, hire employees that know how to take care of their guests I stead of being rude and shrugging off the issue that affected the whole hotel.

This place not going to lie sucked first they put me in a room that shower didn’t work then they moved me far far to another room when I told them I recently just had a surgery it was the worst I wouldn’t go back and that’s cus first time I came here it was awesome not anymore

We had four leaks in our room during the storm on Saturday evening. One over our bed, sofa, living area and window. Have had previous great experiences in this hotel but this was unacceptable.

The facility is situated of a major highway, but tucked away from the noise. We were well greeted and accommodated. Beds were comfortable. The space was clean, quiet and comfortable. Our only drawback was they my husband was unable to shower since he was unable to step into the tub. Breakfast had many healthy and varied choices and the attendant was very friendly and helpful, plenty of protein choices. We would stay again.

Property lost hot water pressure for a few weeks prior to us checking in and when I mentioned it at check in, front desk stated that most rooms are are fixed and vacant rooms are continuing to fix the problem was not fixed

When taking a shower the water pressure was very poor and didnt had hot water. We had too take a cup and were pouring water too rinse off the shampoo. We noticed very small roaches in the kitchen counter

We got the one room that had two rooms if that makes sense lol! Having the separate bedrooms was perfect for three adults and four kids. We all had our own space. Each bedroom had its own bedroom and toilet. I loved the kitchenette. It came with dishes, pots, pans, soap, sponges, everything you need.

This Hotel in not worth the money spent. Room are outdated. The lobby looks current. The elevator needs work. The toilet in our room was the size for a toddler. Seriously. I just used the restroom while i was out. The breakfast on the weekends start at 7. It says buffet but it just a standard Hotel breakfast they all serve.

Only thing is my truck got broken in 😐 so be careful & we literally parked in front of office and no one saw anything other then that everything else was great

I had to wait about an hour and a half after check in time because my room was not ready. When we did get our key cards they didn’t work. I thought housekeeping cleans the rooms daily which I found out our 2nd night that they don’t I had a pillow case that had a spot of blood on it the other had like a red cool aid stain. The door handle to get out the room was broken we had to adjust it a certain way to get out. I was not offered any credit or compensation for our wait but I was offered a complimentary snack while we waited for our room to be ready which felt insufficient given the length of the delay.

Great location, rooms out of date, my microwave didn't work, and if the cleaning staff is washing linen, there is no hot water. I had to get my room key reprogrammed everyday because it would erase itself.

Property was a little outdated and some areas need work(walls, tiles). The staff and front desk were very attentive and respectful.

Everything was really nice! Very clean. Staff was awesome! Parking was good. I really enjoyed the courtyard area as well.

Terrible place to stay. Our carpet was filthy. There was a terrible smell of sewer. Our shower had mold and hair on the drain. When I sat on the chair there were screws poking out from it. Will never stay here again.

We've stayed here before and the first time was amazing and this second time i can't say the same. The room we got was not in good condition. Microwave had rust around it and didn't really want to use it. The room just gave a dirty feeling.

Laundry room was not working. The property seems a little old and worn down but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was decent and the staff working the buffet were friendly.

Very kind staff but we had fringe, curtain and water issues. Hotel needs lots of refurbishing. Keys didn’t work and had to go to front desk 5 times for a 2 night stay. Someone in our party also had a room in which the door would open without a key and couldn’t be fixed.

I slept comfortably, the room was very clean and the staff was very nice. The shower was nice and hot, the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower smelled very nice. I loved the extra lighting and all the extra movie channels! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

As a decent gym that no one uses from when I was there, it’s quiet. The staff are pleasant. Parking is nice overall good experience.

I didn't use the Internet but the room was clean the staff were super friendly and helpful. They had breakfast tacos, pancakes, fruit, cereal, juices, teas, and coffees available.

Staff, clean rooms and customer service.

This was my first time staying here. Conditioned of hotel was very good. I thought the walls were very thin, I could live with it until someone over my room had their Tv so loud, after 11 I started calling downstairs to complain. It took an hour or more to finally quiet down. The breakfast hours end a bit early. But besides that the staff was great.

It’s was a decent cheap stay. (Quite) But the pool is always full of leaves and cloudy. Ice machine didn’t work and either did the laundry room,my washing machine leaked water when on and it took 2 day to come fix it!

The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was delicious@ And it was affordable! Highly recommend!!

The toilet was clogged & water came out from bottom of toilet. Door was missing a small knob so my mom who is 86 had a hard time opening sliding door. Breakfast was from 6:30-8:30 am.
