I booked for my daughter. She arrived by Greyhound Bus from Houston. From the bus station it was a 10 minute walk to the hotel. She visited the Target store which was very close. The location was very good. She enjoyed the room very much, She mentioned the breakfast was quite meager.
- 5/5
Everything was nice. The breakfast was just ok.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Rooms were very spacious.
- 4/5
The room was welcoming and just right for our quick stay. The parking wasn't super easy for us. We were out late at a concert and two women and a three year old had to park on the third level and get into an elevator alone late at night. The hotel was very nice but surrounding area was a little sketchy even during the day so the added security of a guard or lower level parking availability would have been exceptional.

This hotel made me feel safe and comfortable. Location is around everything. Hotel has its own parking. Small cars 25 a day and big cars 35 a day.

I was a bit stressed about our stay reading some of the reviews however our stay here was great. All the staff was friendly, polite and super helpful, especially Elijah and Maria. We stayed in a family suite and it was very spacious and equipped with everything you need, including iron, ironing table and a laundry basket. We were told that due to staffing cleaning is limited but all we need to do is ask if we need anything and we were absolutely fine with that. Breakfast wasn't a large variety but you could still find something for everyone. The location is amazing, about 10 min walk to most attractions and also 10 min walk to bus stop ( we took the bus to SeaWorld, Aquatica and Walmart). Mattresses weren't very comfortable but for the price we paid we weren't expecting the Ritz. Absolutely loved that there were 3 launderettes in the hotel and you could wash and dry your clothes for $5 in total. There's nothing I can say we disliked.

I accidentally booked this hotel in July for August 13th and asked Expedia if they could call this hotel to allow me to cancel because it was still 23 days in advance. I meant to book it for mid August, the day I was in San Antonio. They denied my cancellation even though I was staying there that night. I asked the front desk to see if they could canceel my booking in August that I accidentally booked and they said to call Expedia and Expedia called them and they said no to the refund. I stayed there in August but was not impressed with this place. It is pretty far from the River Walk.
- 5/5
We loved the way the room was set up. It was small but very well setup. I actually took picture so I can build a small home like that. Small but spacious if you know what I mean. Also great bed sheets! Not enough parking at the hotel.
- 3/5
It was close to the Alamo The parking was terrible. There was no where to park for guests of the hotel

We travel with 3 young kids, so booking a suite has always been ideal for our vacations. The room was clean, hot water in the shower was a major plus and a kitchen was a nice way to save some money.
- 5/5
Excellent stay. I hope to return soon.
- 5/5
Very clean close to everything nice place to stay
- 4.5/5
Close to downtown Elevator kept breaking

Did not realize how dog friendly this hotel was, the rooms although cleaned smelled like dog throughout the hotel. But excellent location.

Parking is $35 a night. Breakfast is the same things every day. Mr. Plunkett was great, nice and very helpful!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Sonseta suites. There was a minor problem with our room, staff and maintenance was very prompt on fixing the issue. The breakfast buffet was selective and fresh each morning. Parking in San Antonio as a whole was our biggest and only complaint about our trip.

We booked a two room suite months ago and when we arrived we were told they “overbooked” and that we would have to now be in two separate rooms. With no apologies or any type of accommodations. Then we were told there was no parking and we had to pay over $50 to park across the street, the next day they had parking an it was almost $45 a day. Tip park on the street pay $3 for the hours between 8am - 6pm then after it’s free. We were also there for 8 days and not once did housekeeping come by. We had to ask for towels and our trash to be picked up.

Great staff! Amazing, clean room.

Everything was awesome! 10 out of 10!!
- 5/5
Great stay and the location was perfect for downtown!

- 5/5
I stayed here with my family of four. The room was nice and clean had everything we needed. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was a real one and not a continental one. The pool was relaxing. Most of all we could walk to everything such as the Alamo, the River Walk ,and all the activities going on downtown. The parking at the hotel is about $45 a day but I parked on the street around the corner from the hotel for 30 cents an hour or $3 for the day. It was free from 6pm until 8am. I would definitely stay here again.

- 5/5
Very good location to see the city.
- 4/5
Nice stay, did not have parking onsite
- 5/5
Was amazingstaying there very clean everything
- 4/5
The pool felt private and we were two blocks from the Alamo, shops at River Center mall, and the river walk. Breakfast was good. The staff was so nice and helpful every time we contacted them. Parking is expensive and not included, but to be expected downtown. Would stay there again.
- 4/5
Clean but never cleaned our room for 3 days.
- 5/5
The breakfast was very nice. The room was very nice. And, the stack, especially Michael M was excellent. He was very helpful and helped me get parking, ice, waters, and anything that I needed.
- 5/5
Everything was good just plan for parking
- 5/5
STAFF WAS EXCELLENT. THANK YOU MICHAEL AT FRONT DESK FOR GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE PARKING WAS A VERY ISSUE. IN SOME WAY THE CUSTOMERS SHOULD GET FIRST PICK AT PARKING. WE PARKED AT HOTEL ACROSS THE STREET. ALL AND ALL WE ENJOYED THE STAY
- 5/5
Not much variety and exactly the same every morning. Other than that it was a great stay!
- 5/5
Thank you 😁

Excellent stay at the Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Downtown. Has been our favorite for years now. The rooms are spotlessly clean, breakfast, a pool, gym and laundry room. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

great hotel! room was clean, breakfast was great and location made for easy walking distance to most downtown attractions.
- 5/5
Christian was extremely helpful and courteous, even suggesting some sites and places to eat. We think he went above and beyond great job.
- 1/5
They cancelled my reservation because of a busted pipe.never got a hold me to inform me of the situation. Manager had Expedia on the phone to tell them the situation even told them I was there at the counter and they did not want to speak to me only thru email which I never got any email from them. I want my refund back asap. I will never use Expedia or hotels.com ever again to book any thing from here on out. Deleting my apps also
- 5/5
This place was great. We were able to check in early. Our room was very spacious and the AC was great! And its very close to the river walk and alamo.
- 5/5
Food was great you have to pay parking
- 4/5
The room was clean and the hotel is clean. The staff was nice and helpful. We liked the breakfast and pool was clean with towels for us to use. The cost is not bad either. We will definitely return when traveling to San Antonio.
- 5/5
The location was great, very convenient to the Riverwalk and the Alamo. The room was great as well. Breakfast was typical for a hotel. Nothing bad, nothing exciting.
- 3/5
There are a few things that could make the stay even better. The pillows and blankets could be more comfortable, and the TV options were limited. It would have been nice to have streaming services available. We also wish the hotel had bottled water available instead of only a water fountain tucked away in the back. They had a shop next to check in but no water in stock and only a few things in there but we're overpriced. A shuttle service to and from the airport or nearby attractions would also be a great addition. In our room, we only had one roll of toilet paper and not quite enough towels when we checked in, but those are easy things to improve. Overall, it was an okay stay, but with these issues, I would probably choose a different hotel next time, especially one that offers an airport shuttle
- 5/5
We loved almost everything about our stay here. The only complaint that I have is that the pull out sofa bed mattress was old, stained and very very uncomfortable. That being said, I would still stay here every time I visit San Antonio in the future.
- 5/5
All clean and good.
- 5/5
Nice hotel right beside the Alamo and the Riverwalk
- 5/5
Good service
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful on things my family needed.
- 3/5
The bad: Breakfast was poorly managed , ran out of eggs, potatoes undercooked, sausage chewy/old. Room was not stocked. We had to get everything from the front desk-towels, sheets for pull out couch, washcloths, soap, etc.
- 4/5
The location is excellent and the staff(Ethan)was phenomenal. The only thing there was no pancakes or waffles 😕 at breakfast. The breakfast wasn't great, the shower water temp for hot water doesn't last long. We stayed for 5 days no housekeeping for room to replenish items in room, dishwasher soap, sponges, trash bag, toilet paper and towels. Had to get all this from front desk because room phone didn't work. But the room was large and spacious with all the kitchen essentials you need. Unhouse people camp out near parking garage, no security for parking garage on property..Other than that my family truly enjoy our stay. It affordable hotel with great location and good customer service . Just seems to be understaffed.
- 3/5
The property is dated. They ran out of parking spaces and clean towels when we were there.
- 4/5
Room was clean and comfortable. Did not like having to pay $35 to park.
- 3/5
Breakfast was served but was crowded with people. Staff was helpful. The room was spacious with a kitchen area. The drainage of the washroom was poor, but nice to be separate from the shower.
- 4/5
The property was well maintained. The staff was helpful. We have stayed here few times before and the stay was always comfortable. However this time, our AC was not working and it took about 2 hours to fix the issue. Again the staff was helpful and prompt, but the room was too hot. I recommend the property to look for the issues during the room is prepared
- 4/5
Cuarto incluye cocina. El baño es sencillo. Todo limpio.
- 5/5
Great clean room and location. If any improvement, it would be a larger pool area.
- 4/5
Our room was clean and cool and the staff was helpful.
- 5/5
Arrived pretty late around 10:30 at night as we were moving across country. Maria at the front desk was more than helpful and accommodating on helping us get in and settled. Helping us out with parking. We had our 2 sons and 2 dogs with us. The hotel room was better than expected. We slept so well and wished we could have had more time to enjoy the room. The complementary Breakfast in the morning was pretty good as well. We were able to have a good selection of things, including scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, potatoes and variety of toast. So we were set for our next full day of driving. I would def stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room. Good value for a suite. Decent hot breakfast. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
The room was perfect for my family. It was clean, the staff was great and the breakfast was good. Will definitely stay again.
- 3/5
Kleenex box in my room one tissue in it..2 days later finally got a box of Kleenex. Exact same breakfast every morning, I was there for 7 days. Asked for one hour later check out charged me $50. Asked for towels to shower a 2nd time after working out the housekeeper I asked said someone else was working my side of the rooms…they’d provide the later. I stayed many times in hotels in Downtown San Antonio,Texas. This was stay was disappointing.
- 5/5
Breakfast was good. Location was perfect, close to restaurants, shopping and sure seeing
- 5/5
I will always stay here for now on
- 3/5
There was no housekeeping unless you call a day ahead and the room was Not well stocked with towels, tissue, dishwash, trash bags, coffee, etc.......... The breakfast was ok.
- 5/5
Great staff and breakfast
- 4/5
Good place, parking the worst.
- 4/5
This place was very, very busy when I tried checking in. A little bit chaotic and understaffed. The lobby facilities were pretty unimpressive, but the room itself was nice and it was nice to have a kitchenette.
- 4/5
No ice machine, telephone did not work, I could not turn air conditioning off.
- 5/5
The room was great, roomy and big kitchen appliances. I wish they left extra trash bags for extended stays. The only thing is that the breakfast was the exact same thing every day and no pancakes or waffles were available for kids. The pool is small but ok for the kids. We found parking in the garage every day we were there. Would stay again!
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 3/5
Parking situation is horrible and very expensive and some of the staff just don't give a damn and are super rude while others are very nice and friendly
- 4/5
The breakfast bar was a little lacking.
- 4/5
The two bedroom layout was nice and spacious. It also came with a pull out couch, which we did use. The issue with that was, the blanket for that smelled pretty bad. When asking for a replacement at the front counter, they were all out and gave us a bedsheet. Maybe my fault for asking late, i assumed they’ll have plenty extras. I asked again the next morning and they were able to drop a new one off and it smelled clean. Overall a good hotel, the pricing a bit much but you get privacy, free breakfast and you are a 5min walk from the Alamo.
- 2/5
The service at this hotel was poor. We were traveling as a family of four and stayed for four nights. Each morning we had to request fresh towels at the front desk for showering, and despite our requests no one ever showed up to collect our used towels or to change the trash so they just piled up. The front desk staff wasn’t overly friendly with the exception of Elijah, who was consistently smiling, pleasant, and helpful. The breakfast buffet options were identical all four days, and on some days they were missing any type of breakfast meat, coffee creamer, etc. It was a disappointing stay.
- 5/5
Location is good close to highway and downtown. The room was spacious and perfect for a small group staying together. Get to breakfast early because they will run out.
- 4/5
The pool was packed the whole time we were there, so that wasn’t a huge draw like we thought it would be… Breakfast ended at nine sharp, so don’t sleep in and try to get there at 9:10, you won’t get anything. I mean, who eats breakfast at 8 o’clock in the morning on vacation??
- 5/5
Great stay! Clean and easy to get to and to park!
- 5/5
Place was clean and staff was accommodating. Riverwalk was a 5 minute walk and the Alamo just a couple of block away. They charge for parking but there is plenty of street parking and it’s pretty safe. The one thing they can improve on is breakfast but it can get you by. Coffee was great
- 5/5
The front desk girl was so sweet! Bless her! I don’t remember her name but she checked us in and she was the absolute best!
- 2/5
I booked 2 rooms but one was not ready for an hour after we checked in and I had to go through the entire check in process again.
- 2/5
The breakfast was now appealing or tasteful no fruit, oatmeal watery, no Pancakes or waffles, not a good selection of juice! Icemaker didn’t work, door key didn’t work X 3 went up and down to desk to rekey! Parking wasn’t available, had to park on the street and got a parking ticket ticket!
- 3/5
My family and I selected this hotel because of the breakfast buffet however it was not a breakfast buffet. It was basically a grab and go breakfast, scrambled eggs and sausage balls. Very disappointing especially when we checked in the front desk clerk stated we would have pancakes, eggs your eggs, the works. Then we were advised during check in parking was $35 PER DAY! Which is crazy because we were told about paying for parking and definitely not $35. We never had housekeeping during our stay.
- 5/5
Very spacious room, love the apartment feel. New modern kitchen and decor. Bed design is cute but mattress was not the best. Typical hotel mattress, sheets and covers are soft. Clean bedding and showers. Smells good in the rooms. Great storage for extended stay! Definitely easy access to local attractions. Easy for families, and military.
- 5/5
Great hotel! Fit our needs. Great location. Breakfast needs improvement.
- 5/5
Love this hotel! The staff were all so friendly but special shout out to Elijah who was always welcoming and helpful. Rooms are super quiet with great views of Downtown. Highly recommend this to anyone staying in San antonio
- 5/5
The location is excellent behind the Alamo. The suite room is great for space and comfort.
- 4/5
We booked a room with 2 queen beds and also used the sofa sleeper as an extra bed, so you’d think it was a tight squeeze, but it was surprisingly still pretty spacious. Our kids loved staying here, and I felt safe throughout our entire stay.
- 4/5
Staff extremely friendly & helpful. However, no TV for 1 day they blamed the service provider and breakfast not great for someone like me with celiac desease but ive found thats pretty normal unfortunately.
- 5/5
The room was clean and spacious, the water was hot and the breakfast was good!
- 5/5
.
- 2/5
Didn’t enjoy the breakfast
- 5/5
It was close to the Alamo. Breakfast was good. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay everyone was professional, I love the room, I was their for a women’s conference. I loved most was the safety of the property, how you can’t get into the property without a key to scan or get to your floor. The only thing I was a little upset about the breakfast, they did not have pancakes or a waffle station, most hotel with a continental breakfast has that, but for the most part I had a wonderful stay with Sonestra, ES Suites and I will return and recommend this hotel.
- 5/5
It was amazing. Clean rooms, great staff, nice pool, great location.
- 3/5
Disappointed in the room no ice maker as promised in the room and there were on ice machine in the hotel. For 35 dollars a night I would think the parking would be much better. No access to the hotel from the parking garage was the pits, and the carts for the luggage was a joke. Will have to find another location when we go back in December.
- 4/5
Super close to the riverwalk and convention center! Felt very safe!
- 5/5
Everything is clear, excellent attention at the couno pretty professional
- 1/5
Horrible customer service
- 5/5
Super cute and clean!!
- 4/5
The parking very inconvenient.
- 5/5
Good location! I was able to walk to the Rock Box/Vibes without any issues. Also near the River Walk and Alamo.
- 5/5
The room was excellent. The staff was so courteous. We have stayed at Sonesta everytime we come to San Antonio. We always enjoy our time tgere.
- 4/5
I love that it’s so close to the main downtown tourist spots. I attended a nursing conference and walked everywhere. It was very convenient.
- 5/5
Loved the room set up , it felt like a small apartment , it was cozy and very convenient as I had a child with me ,
