La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Antonio Alamo City

This was the only time that we were at a place that provided free breakfast that didn't have fresh fruit. Language barrier with one of the housekeeping staff. The room was descent.

It was a nice place. Enjoyed the complimentary drink from the bar. Was quite a walk to the River Walk. Wasn't excited at the parking rates, and they charged me extra for who knows what, before we even stayed the night. Paid in advance too. Should have called to complain, but just wasn't up to the challenge. Had a good breakfast and enjoyed the hot tub. Probably won't stay there again.

Stayed for only a few nights, but everything was great. Will be staying again soon.

Loved the Texas shaped pool and the location was by everything we needed.

I would recommend going to another hotel

Was a decent stay. 5/10. Only thing that really bothered me was the bath towels looking dirty.

The room we stayed in had hair everywhere from the towels, shower to the beds. The furniture was old and needs to be replaced.

Room dirty on arrival. Musty. Sticky floors, dirty blankets, dirty shower, old bar soap. Air conditioner rattled. Hot tub barely heated. Not enough towels and staff rude when we asked for more. Fire alarm went off at 1am for about 45 seconds.

I like it’s location, the friendly staff and the breakfast The room was hot, and wasn’t as clean as it normally is . The tub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, there was hair in it.

This is a very nice hotel with a few exceptions. They were short of cleaning staff but they hired a few just before I left so that's no longer a problem but the major problem I had that kept me from giving this five stars is that they advertise having bathtubs but the secret is they only have them in the rooms that has two beds so if you get a king size bed and you like taking baths and showers you won't be able to cuz they only have showers in the king size rooms. That's the only reason I will never go back to that hotel unless I need two beds. That's highly unlikely. The gym was excellent the breakfast was excellent and the hotel staff that was there were very good.

Staff was friendly. Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was fully stocked and had plenty of options to choose from. The pool area was fun.

The pool was kind of dirty around the sitting areas with trash and no pool towels. However the pool was definitely clean (inside the pool) and fun for the kids, loved it was Texas shaped. They also had corn hole and a football out there which was nice Seen some nats around the breakfast food. Room was fair. Checkout was smooth and easy.

Hotel charged my card the same price as booking.com where I made the reservation and paid online. walls very thin, could hear other guests, dogs, children, workers. When it came to continental breakfast, there was 1 gallon of milk for all guests to share, that was completely unsanitary. The buffet pans were not sanitary as well.

We had to ask for the pool to get cleaned since it was filled in mosquitoes. Then the food was running out for breakfast. Room was move.

The hotel was close by the expressway. It was a not to pleasant due to being dirty.

Construction of the road made it hard to get to

The only ice machine I could find was on the first floor and I was on three. I will ask for the top floor from now on because the noise from the room above me sounded like there were a lot of kids running around. Noisy.

At our visit the pool was not clean, blankets in our room had some food stains and did not appear to be clean.

Clean room. Comfortable bed. Spacious room! The air conditioning could not keep the room cool. And we were unable to adjust the AC below 68 degrees at night. The lighting in the bathroom was great and the roll in shower was perfect. Staff was professional and friendly.

This hotel is convenient distance from the hospital, very clean, and staff are friendly and professional.

Now a few negative comments. The shower was DANGEROUS - very, very slippery w no rubber mat offered to use to keep from falling! I put a bath towel on the floor of the shower and that made a HUGE difference. The water was hot and the water stream good. Breakfast was good. Many options to choose from. The coffee was very good! Another negative comment - this hotel uses styrofoam products, such as plates and cups instead of paper which can be recycled. My stay was a good one but note: there is massive construction on the freeway right next to the hotel making traffic more ridiculous than usual. Beware.

Yessss! We left the La Quinta at Topperwein because it was disgusting. Thank goodness the lovely people here took good care of us.

Not the location fault but road construction everywhere

This property is in the middle of a major highway project and could only be accessed by a one way frontage road. I thought it was priced too high compared to other LaQuinta hotels in the area and that the road construction made it more difficult to access.

The room was very clean, but the bathroom door did not lock or close all the way. there was about a 1 inch gap where people could see you sitting in the toilet. the bathtub somehow leaked water on the floor. I'm not sure if the curtain was closed all the way or water somehow is draining onto the floor.

Sam was excellent - customer focused and helpful. I travelled all my career. I have not stayed at La Quinta in about 20yrs bc u guys sucked and didnt care. I gave you a chance this time bc Expedia recommended this location. Sam's customer skills convinced to give you guys another try. Clone her. tks

Check in was easy and the female at the front desk was very kind but once we’ve got into our room, the bathroom had mold all over the ceiling, the bed had reddish pink stains on the pillows, and the blankets and the walls had a lot of missing paint and marks. We informed the front desk about the mold on the ceiling and showed her a photo and she did apologize and upgraded the room to a better room, a suite, but that one was not much better. Cleanliness was not good and the iron for the ironing board did not work well and had burn marks on it which stained a shirt we tried to iron. The female at the front desk did get us a new one but it was still an inconvenience. Also , a semi truck in the parking lot blew up in the parking lot. It was an actual explosion at 0300 am.

I always stay here when traveling. I feel safe and it is a nice and reasonably priced place to stay.

The first room I was put into, though it smelled good and appeared mostly tidy, when the comforter was pulled back it displayed an unclean sheet, both stained and had hairs on it. The second room I was put in had an unfunctioning thermostat. The final room was fine.

A/C quit at 1AM. Called front desk and was told she would have to call manager to find out what could be done. Waited for about 20 minutes, decided we were now too wide awake to get any further quality sleep, so we packed up and left. Asked clerk to tell manager we were requesting a refund; seems she did not. Called later and had to leave a message. Still awaiting a response.

The experience was great. Everything was clean and organized. I took my puppy, and she had a wonderful time; the staff was friendly. I have nothing to complain about.

The gym needs a fan but all others were great. Room didn’t have a remote but got one quickly. Pool was cute didn’t get in but we used the chairs to lay out and they were comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Overall great stay!

Our linens (pillowcases) didn’t look great so I asked housekeeping in Spanish and she gave me a set of 5 for our room much newer, white, clean. Really nice property and the recommendation for authentic MX food at Taqueria Guanajuato was legit. Location was perfect for us as were 1 night NY - CA cross country. Would absolutely stay again.

My son dropped orange juice on the floor in the room, we instinctively cleaned it with a towel so he wouldn’t fall. Oh no you can’t do that according to front desk Maria.. we were told we could never come back because of that

The hotel was very clean, our room was clean and a/c worked great. It's not walking distance to any nearby stores but with a car you can go anywhere within 15-20 mins from the hotel.

Breakfast in the morning had great selection, and everything was neat and clean. The ladies asked us if we needed anything else, and made sure we were taken care of. The snack shop had a lot of great selection as well and was reasonably priced! Also, the water pressure and temperature in the shower was great (something we take for granted, but I travel a lot). Bathroom was very clean. Lobby was nice, and there was a nice bar down there. We enjoyed the stay so much that we considered extending an extra day. The only reason that we didn't is because we had business on the opposite side of town the next day.
