Guests generally enjoy their stay at this hotel, praising the friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, and excellent location near the Riverwalk. The breakfast is also frequently complimented. However, some guests have issues with the valet parking, which is expensive and not always efficient. There are also some complaints about cleanliness and maintenance issues in the rooms.

Unfortunately, my stay was very disappointing. From the beginning, there were several issues with the room. There were ants throughout the room, especially around the window, the refrigerator was not cooling properly, and the living room area stayed extremely hot. I reported these issues to the Front Desk, and I was told that a technician would come take care of them. However, the problems were never fully resolved. The refrigerator only became slightly cooler, while the other issues remained. The service was also frustrating. I had to go to the lobby at least three separate times just to get towels because they were not provided when needed. On top of that, our room was not cleaned the following day. Overall, I expected a much better experience for what I paid. The combination of the ants, temperature issues, refrigerator problem, lack of towels, and room not being cleaned made the stay very uncomfortable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the cleanliness, maintenance, and housekeeping service for future guests.

Hotel is on the older side. Elevators have carpet, which is old and musty smelling. Our door to our room didnt shut all the way and we had issues getting locked out a couple of times. Staff was very friendly and immediately fixed the issue. Valet crew was also very friendly and quick and pulling our vehicle out for us. The pool is very small but clean. Overall, we had a positive experience, we will definitely be back next month.

Really nice stay. Comfortable in every way. Loved the layout of the room, the cleanliness, and the kitchnette was complete with anything you may need. Loved being able to relax in the common area and watch the boats go by. Enjoying common areas is something we dont normally do. The staff was fantastic! Loved our time there.

The location Here's the updated review with your comment about the breakfast included naturally: I would not recommend staying at Homewood Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio. From the moment we arrived, the hotel was filthy. The carpet in the elevator was disgusting, and I would not have walked barefoot on it. As soon as the elevator doors opened on our floor, the hallway smelled like garbage. The refrigerator in our room didn't work at all. It still had old food inside, and there were bugs in it. To make matters worse, two ceiling air vents fell during our stay, and one of them nearly hit my 11-year-old daughter in the face. That was completely unacceptable and could have caused a serious injury. We were also told that housekeeping is only provided every other day. The front desk employee insisted this is now common practice, but I travel frequently, and this is the first hotel where I've experienced that. Even when housekeeping did come, they didn't actually clean the room. They simply made the beds. The sink, toilet, and other surfaces were never cleaned, and the sheets were dirty. The complimentary breakfast was also very disappointing. The quality of the food was poor, and it did not meet the standards I would expect from a Hilton property. When I checked out, the same front desk employee was extremely rude. I reported that the refrigerator wasn't working and that it contained old food and bugs. Instead of apologizing or showing any concern, she asked why I hadn't reported it sooner, essentially shifting the blame onto me rather than taking responsibility for the hotel's condition. I found that response completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Overall, the entire property felt neglected, dirty, and poorly maintained.

During the rain the water was pouring through both of the bedroom windows. They moved our rooms and it was still happening in the other room just not as bad. Staff seemed to not care much and said it was a known issue. The carpet was soaked so if it was a known issue I’m sure they have underlying issues in their carpet padding as well.

The biggest issue was that there are no restrooms near the rooftop pool, which made using the pool inconvenient. We ended up spending an extra $60 on a ResortPass at the neighboring Westin just to enjoy better pool amenities. The complimentary breakfast was mediocre, and we didn’t find the staff to be particularly friendly or welcoming. On the positive side, the rooms were spacious, the air conditioning worked exceptionally well during the Texas heat, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and the River Walk. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location and room size are your priorities, but there is definitely room for improvement in the amenities, breakfast, and customer service.

We love Homewood Suites! Room was perfect - staff were so friendly! I love how this property (Giselle) texted me and when we had questions or issues they texted right back!! At 11:30 at night our freezer was not working properly- I texted and within 10 minutes the friend maintenance man was up switching out our fridge. Balet was prompt. Breakfast was a great way to start the day and the Wednesday night Socials are always a must. We have stayed in Homewoods in 4 different states- the San Antonio Downtown Riverwalk was my favorite by far. Convenient to the Alamo and Riverwalk. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The picture online are deceiving. The only reason they’re still in business is the brand name and that it’s conveniently on the riverwalk. Other than that I wouldn’t set a high level of expectations. They don’t inform you about a deposit. The Deposit wasn’t mentioned nowhere online or paperwork so when the rude lady at the front desk told me the price I was caught off guard. Front desk didn’t bother explaining anything to me she was on the phone didn’t bother putting the phone on hold and made me feel everyone and everything else was important. I had so many questions about room layout due to my daughter being autistic and she blew me off so once booked in my family and I went to rooms on DIFFERENT FLOORS. I wanted a suite w 2 rooms not 2 suites with 2 rooms which I had to find out myself. I spoke to Expedia they were very understanding they tried speaking to hotel on my behalf for a refund and she didn’t honor it, the room had water damages. The 1st night the air conditioning stopped working. The lady at the front desk basically ruined my time time, I booked the trip to just catch a break in life and just to go to that. Such a let down! Don’t waste your money!

The room was huge, very clean & the beds were comfortable. The TVs were not smart TVs…no streaming. Also, the hotel was hot, they notified us they were having ac worked on at check in. Our room was 76 degrees at check in & o my got down to 70 degrees. In Texas, that’s a huge part of comfort. Next morning at checkout, it was super hot in hallways, elevator, lobby. We had to wait 20 minutes for our car to be brought down & I was soaked in sweat. My husband also saw a bug (looked like a roach) crawl down into the dishwasher. Access to Riverwalk was there but nothing close by.

Breakfast was good, although very busy on weekends, so get there early! Fantastic location. We loved walking out the front door and being a block from the best part of the river walk. I didn't see the pool, but my teens told me it was small and crowded. Lots of TV channels. Friendly staff. We parked in the parking lot across the street, which saved some money. We texted the number to have our car ready and they lied saying our car had been up waiting for us but we never came so they took it back but we never saw it. We had four occupants in a 2 Queen bed bedroom.. There was only a 1/4 of a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom upon arrival with no backup stock and only Three towels and two washcloths in the bathroom and again with no backup stock... We had to go get our own supply of toilet paper and then when asking for more towels the front desk told us that they had some at the front desk at which time I stated they need to bring towels to the room to accommodate their guest and it took so long, we still ended up having to walk down and get them. No dish soap on the kitchen sink to wash up a few dishes that was too minimal to put in the dishwasher and the only trash can which was against the wall in the living room/ kitchen/dining room had no trash bag liners. Only one of the staff during our 4-day stay was halfway accommodable and it's probably not somewhere I would return for a stay.

-The location is good, but does require a bit of a walk to get to the bustling part of the riverwalk. -Price is good for downtown -Breakfast was good, but ends at 9:30, which is a bit early for some -You can check in early for an additional $50, if room service can accommodate -The view was nice Negatives: -The sink in the room constantly leaked -There is no ice machine on the property -The pool is small and was very cloudy/green (there isn’t a bathroom near the pool, so that is likely why) -The pillows are either lumpy or extremely flat, either way they need to be replaced -The bedding is lacking, there isn’t really a comforter just an itchy, thin blanket, so bring your own. -Valet is pricey and the text to let them know you need your vehicle didn’t always work -Getting in and out of the hotel is a bit tricky for those who can’t use stairs -The TV is not a smart tv and only offered about 59 channels, of which only 20 or so actually worked. I would bring an HDMI cable and a device to connect to the TV so that you can watch something -There is a pull out sofa, but super uncomfortable, as expected

The room was not clean and there were cockroaches in the dishwasher. We informed the front desk and they moved us to the 10th floor, which is the top floor. There we would find that the plumbing did not work properly so we had to call Maintenance. After Maintenance had left, we discovered that the air-conditioning was also not working and it was a nice warm 94° day. After two nights of not sleeping well in the heat, we decided to leave. We still had one additional night booked but told her there would be no refund due to company policy and that we had booked through a third party. I would not recommend this particular Hilton. All of the others we have stayed at seem to be quite nice. Not sure which individual owns this one, but it needs a lot of attention.

Above everything, the entire staff was absolutely amazing! We were in town for my son’s graduation at Ft. Sam Houston, so we were a large crowd! We had a few bumps and hiccups along the way, as is expected for such a large group and each and every staff member that we dealt with went above and beyond to fix any concerns we had. We happened to be there during the Spurs Championship tournament, so our hotel, much like many others was packed! But that didn’t make us feel any less important. 100% recommend! Oh and since my son will miss the next few birthdays for his little brother, we had a pool party for him, as our trip was just before his birthday, and we loved the view from the pool on the roof! I do wished we could have been able to watch the sunrise from the pool area, but safety of the children is way more important, so we totally understand having certain hours that it is opened. So many things were just within walking distance of our hotel and that was very convenient. Some of our group valet parked and those guys were on the ball, especially as crazy as it was at check-out the next morning. The rest of us parked in the lot across the street and next to the parking garage. It was the best priced we found, at $20/day. The garage was $25 I believe and since we stayed 4 days, it definitely made a difference with 3 other vehicles. Also, it was easier to maneuver than the parking garage across from the hotel. We never had an issue with it being full during our stay.

Location was good and the staff was friendly. Had to switch rooms because of the air conditioner not cooling off the entire room and it was slightly better in the second room but was still unpleasant to the point we had to check out at 3:30 am.

The floors were horrible and for a Hilton it did not measure up. On the web it looked pretty and nice but the look was deceiving.

The location is great. Easy access to everything. The outside was undergoing construction so the view to the Riverwalk wasnt that great. The price of the rooms were great compared to the area, especially if you have a big family because the suites are accommodating. Entering and exiting with a car is very difficult because the access to the garage and hotel is very small. The parking prices are very expensive, but everywhere is, $52 for the night. The breakfast is a typical breakfast and its great they offer it, because a lot of hotels on the Riverwalk don't not offer it. The inside of the hotel is pretty old and the lobby is kind of small and crowded during check in and at breakfast. The rooms offer a decent size fridge and microwave which is very convenient. Overall it is a decent, affordable place, thats accommodating to large families. I would not park or drive my vehicle near the hotel unless you want to wait. I would park at a nearby, cheap garage and walk in, if you are able with your bags.

Only 2 elevators for all 10 floors plus staff lower level. Since my mom uses a cane, I was concerned about evacuation options from the 6th floor.

Not enough staff to keep breakfast area stocked up, didn't extend the breakfast time , didn't have anything to eat due to their incompetence to have more employees working the holiday weekend , will not recommend nor return.

I liked the room. It is my second time here and I really enjoy how close this place is to everything. I feel like the breakfast has gotten smaller, with fewer options from the first time I was there. Also I was tricked into signing in for the Hilton reward program. Just because I am smiling and being nice to receptionist doesn’t mean I can be tricked. But either than that I liked the experience.

I don’t recommend going on a night that the Stars play. When they win there is madness in the streets for hours into the night. Cars, motorcycles etc revving and yelling for hours!!!! Crazy loud if you’re in a room on that side of the hotel!

This was the worst customer service, they had to move us two times and we still ended up with a broken air conditioner. A refund was definitely necessary. Do not stay at this hotel.

Everything was great except the breakfast. Though they were working hard, The two ladies on staff could not keep the food trays full. I was there at 8:06 and there was meager offerings in the potatoe and pork carnitas, eggs were ok, no forks. By 9:08 all containers were full but that was a long time to wait to fill your plate. Bagels, waffles and toast were plentiful for those who like starches.

I loved how the breakfast menu rotated slightly each day and the options were varied. The food was also good and the eating area was pretty with views of the river. The room was a great size with plenty of space for our family. Everyone was kind and accommodating. We had a great time!
