Reviews
Guests generally have a positive experience at the hotel, appreciating its location and cleanliness. However, there are recurring issues with the air conditioning, parking, and some aspects of customer service.
- Great location, particularly for accessing the Riverwalk
- Rooms are generally clean
- Air conditioning issues are frequently mentioned
- Parking can be problematic, either due to availability or cost

It was a nice stay for family for a nice riverwalk visit. We could just walked out of the hotel patio right on the riverwalk. Location was great. The room was clean. We got extra pillows and blankets that we asked for. And the riverview room was a nice bonus.
- 5/5
The staff were super-helpful when we were trying to navigate the riverwalk with a family member who couldn't navigate stairs
- 5/5
Will definitely stay again Five stars

Best hotel
- 4/5
Nice bed
- 4/5
Room was comfortable and peaceful. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Staff was great. Elizabeth was great that girl was spot on.
- 3/5
The guy that checked me in was amazing. His named sated with an "A" , maybe Adam? He was very friendly and personable! The valet was friendly, although they didn't explain my need to keep the same valet ticket for my stay. I thought I got a new new ticket each day like most places. Other than that the hotel had a great location and was reasonably priced.
- 5/5
Our stay was awesome! The staff was super helpful and really knew their stuff. I totally recommend this hotel! Thanks again for having us!
- 5/5
Clean, staff was nice, elevators to parking garage were broken all weekend
- 3/5
Everything was good but I never got my money back when I was told if would be refunded due to them selling my room the first night of my trip
- 2.5/5
Very loud in the room.
- 2/5
The hotel and room were not clean. My sheets had stains and hair on them, used q-tip on bathroom floor, and the hallways did not appear to have been vacuumed in days.
- 5/5
It's was a beautiful experience to be there, beautiful, clean, staff always there to help you, all restaurants close, you don't even need to drive.we love to be at San Antonio texas.thank you for you services.
- 3/5
Smallest pool ever small room other hotels are nicer for the price
- 5/5
Pool and restaurant hours were inconvenient. They should stay open way longer. Not everyone has the same schedule.
- 5/5
Great location, smooth check in, comfortable beds, large rooms. Just there for an overnight seeing a show. Will do it again....
- 5/5
I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody coming to San Antonio to visit. The hotel is so clean and the staff is absolutely phenomenal. The rooms are top-notch and the beds are one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The restaurant was really good, even though it’s a little pricey, you get exactly what you’re paying for. It is a nice walk to the Riverwalk and to the market. There are a lot of places around the hotel for you to walk to, so it’s a great location.
- 5/5
Honestly I love how close it is to the riverwalk like elevator down to river walk. Everything was clean and decent. You have to pay for parking but downtown your going to do it anyways. No breakfast for free but honey go to German spot down the road soo good. Staff was helpful because I didn’t bring toothpaste and they had me cover.
- 5/5
Loved our stay! Room was clean and cozy! Valet staff was so nice and helpful. Definitely will be booking again.
- 3/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. The parking garage elevator was broken so it was very inconvenient. I don't mind stairs, but not with luggage and in 100 degree weather. The hotel offered to drive people up with a golf cart, but still challenging when you're in a hurry. One of the room towels was stained.
- 5/5
Bueno
- 3/5
Hair in the bath tub, and sink. Parking is a joke. They charge you over $40.00 for parking and there was no availability. I had to park in another parking garage 1 block away.
- 3/5
The bedding had some mold stains and the cleaning crew came into my room a bit early. We were still in bed. It wasn’t even 9:30.
- 4/5
Very nice placeva great location.
- 4/5
Misleading that breakfast is “included” when it is actually a restaurant on the 2nd floor.
- 4/5
The location was convenient , but it could definitely use an upgrade. Seemed kind of outdated. Overall it was a good stay
- 3/5
Buena ubicacion
- 5/5
Everything was very nice and clean staff was friendly and had a great stay only downside was the elevator for garage was in construction but still had and awesome stay will recommend and will stay there again
- 4/5
Close to River walk, little store in hotel but over priced. Was a good visit and friendly valet employees. Front office staff were a little rude, house keeping came around at late times, my room never got cleaned but was able to get towels.
- 5/5
Good place to stay, and one step from river walk.
- 0.5/5
I didn't like anything about it. The room manager threaten to call the police on me because one of his employees did not want to seat me at the restraunt at 4:56p.m. when the place opened at 5pm. There were around three people seated at the bar, the employee included. When he walked up to me he said, "My worker said you threw the menu on the floor." I said I did not and he said he was calling the police. I said go ahead, I don't give a care. He asked for my room number and I said 605, which was the second room because the one on the 5th floor smelled like a sewer. I then went to my room where Mr. Adam calls the room and ask me to leave the hotel. I packed my things and left. Mr. Adam then over charges me for the room for one night: $530.00 The hotel was not clean and had spider webs everywhere. There are several abandon buildings around and oposuums can be seen at night.
- 3.5/5
Didn’t get any breakfast Broken elevator to parking garage but they made it work so we didn’t have to walk much
- 4/5
Very nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Excellent!!!
- 2.5/5
Location was goid The bed sheets were awful, stains and blood on them, walls next to bed needed to be cleaned.
- 5/5
Great, clean and beautiful!
- 5/5
Is good
- 5/5
Excellent location
- 5/5
Great location and view of the river walk from the balcony! Loved the “walking around” margaritas!
- 2/5
I complained at the front desk and they offered to put me in a 2nd room. The second room had the same toilet/faucet conditions, except several more hairs on this toilet. I went to the front desk to report it and showed told them I did not want to stay there (dirty toilets, dirty sheets?). They were understanding and helped me cancel my reservation and I was able to get a full refund through Expedia.
- 3/5
It was convenient location and the staff were helpful. I didn’t like how the room didn’t get cool enough and there were people at the pool area smoking marijuana.
- 5/5
Everything was close by the only thing is on our 23rd floor didn’t have ice machine anywhere.
- 3/5
Our room was too warm. Front desk said they would send maintenance. Second night, same thing. We has to request a fan for the room. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. When we pulled back the shower curtain, we found 2 crusty washcloths hanging from the shower rod. gross.
- 3/5
The room floor was dirty. Like they never passed a mop in it. Parking is terriblep you have to pay and then on Saturday nights they rent out the parking garage and if it gets full you can’t park there.
- 2/5
Our room was never fully cleaned or stocked with towels.
- 4/5
The room smelt like pee and pretty sure there is mold in the bathroom , it wasnt the cleanest.
- 5/5
Great place to stay for a convention.
- 5/5
Pool is very small. Breakfast buffet is good for the price IF you prepurchase, but we tipped the servers in cash, and they still wanted to charge us a tip on our card....without our knowledge. Had to talk to main desk to get it taken off. Close to all River Walk and Alamo activities.
- 4/5
The beds were a little uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Staff was great.
- 5/5
The front desk attendant was so pleasant and helpful.
- 5/5
Perfect location on the River Walk!
- 1/5
The parking lot is extremely expensive! and they will charge you $50 per day as a security deposit
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing loved how it was next to the river walk and it was clean and friendly.
- 5/5
Service from staff for valet and front desk We asked twice to have maid clean floor it was never done and floor was so dirty when you stepped into tub to shower it left dirty feet marks so we used towels to wipe feet before going to bed
- 1/5
Location on the riverwalk, facing the riverwalk. The girl at the front desk during check-in was very polite, and the valet was also polite and informative. AC would not cool, hair on the commode tank and seat. We were scheduled to go out and eat and had to wait for almost an hour and a half to get maintenance in the room for the AC. The guy at the front desk was bad at customer relations. He should have offered to move us. I had to go to the front desk several times to ask about the maintenance worker coming to our room to fix the AC. He would not pick up the phone when calling from the room. While taking a shower, the tub started to fill with water as if it were clogged. Sounds of moving furniture next door for hours in the evening while trying to sleep.
- 4.5/5
The bar isn’t opened later
- 5/5
Perfect
- 4/5
The staff is excellent and friendly. The room was very clean. When our coffee maker didn't work the staff were right there with a replacement. Every time we needed help or assistance with anything the staff were awesome, I did not speak to or see any one of them who did not have a smile on their face. So for all staff 5+ stars. The mattresses should have been replaced years ago. Both had dips and sags. The thermostat is inaccurate. Which is an issue when there is down bedding in use, because dust mites thrive under 70 degrees. So if you have allergies beware. Your thermostat is going to pretend it's at the "right" temperature but it's not. And if you need a valet cart hope they have replenished their supply because I overheard a conversation I probably shouldn't have about how many carts there are, and it is absolutely not enough for a hotel this size.
- 5/5
Nice , clean , good location, even de Church friendly and helpful people !!
- 4/5
There was no microwave. I didn't like being charged $50/day for incidentals ahead of time. I did not like that bookings.com would not change my reservation dates. I paid for a night I didn't want.
- 3/5
Staff aren’t all that great! Breakfast is NOT free!! $22.99 per person for the buffet! They give you a “voucher” but you still somehow pay for it. Parking is $80 for 2 nights non valley. As much money as you spend complimentary breakfast would be nice.
- 4.5/5
The location was great and the staff was very friendly. I could not get the state tax exempted and I am a state employee.
- 2/5
The Hotel room was okay. The staff was rude and unacommodating. I had to pay to park in the parking garage however when I got in the parking garage, it was completely full and I had to park 3 blocks away from the hotel and walk back holding all of my bags in the rain. When I told the desk clerk what happened, they told me it was first -come -first serve. I requested a refund for the parking money and found out later that the hotel had sold parking to people going to a concert across the street. POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE. LEAVING YOUR PAYING GUEST OUT IN THE RAIN!!!!

Clean room, helpful staff
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay at had a great time being right in the heart of downtown San Antonio.

No
- 2/5
- 5/5
Perfect
- 1/5
An 41 dlss for parking each night is ridiculous.
- 5/5
My son loved it! Can’t wait to go again.
- 4/5
Room was clean and staff was friendly had problems with the ac but it was fixed
- 4/5
Hotel was friendly and staff was helpful. Our toilet ran the entire stay and barely worked. We told cleaning staff we were good first day and didn’t want turn down service as we were trying to rest and they still came back and knocked at the door and even tried to come in, luckily the door was latched at top. The hotel has a nice view of the riverwalk and having breakfast with that view was very nice. It was about a 7 minute walk to all the attractions of the riverwalk and Alamo. They were unable to park our vehicle so we had to park about 5 minute walk from hotel.
- 3/5
This hotel was ok for my families trip to the Riverwalk. This hotel has breakfast available with seating facing the Riverwalk. The pool and hot tub was very small and too packed when we went. Good location to shops and restaurants.
- 4/5
Clean when I got there. It was long pieces of hair on the walls in the shower.
- 3/5
The room was spacious and the property was nice. Hotel right on the river walk which is convenient to everything . I noticed human hair left on the dresser near the TV and the Headboard was dirty and the toilet was not so clean. lucky I travel with cleaning wipes and was able to wipe everything down . Overall it was a great stay .
- 2/5
The first room our air conditioner and refrigerator were not working so moved to another room and it was warm in the room too, when asked they said it was new green air system the changed to and when you were not in room it was 73, it took till morning to get to 68
- 3/5
Parking situation was horrible. Friday night they ran out of parking. The only good part about this hotel is that it was conveniently located.
- 5/5
Great hotel and great staff, breakfast was excellent.
- 5/5
Love the stay
- 4/5
Always stay at this location when I come to San Antonio good staff clean rooms
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
AC was loud. Noises from outside were loud, not sure what it was. Parking was terrible. Both garage and valet parking were full when we arrived. You had to park at a city garage down the street even though we pre-paid parking. Still waiting on parking reimbursement.
- 3/5
The location is perfect for Riverwalk, Alamo and visits within downtown. The hotel rooms need renovation, blanket and curtain have holes and toilet bowl especially the underneath part of the bowl was very dirty as I only noticed it on our last day of stay. The windows overlooking the Riverwalk need to be cleaned. Parking garage was wet and the restaurant at the hotel is awful. The elevator to the parking garage, as well as the garage need cleaning.
- 3/5
Parking was terrible unable to park at the hotel due to open parking to public and they were full had to pay depart parking fee at a lot several blocks away and had to walk back
- 2/5
Beware of all the extra fees that you will be charged at the end of your stay that are not included in the initial room rate. Even though it shows a competitive room rate upfront to get you in the door online, when you get your final bill, there are a significant amount of add-ons with the staff telling you that your initial room rate was just an “estimate.” I would suggest another hotel for the price and value of what Holiday Inn is charging. TRAVELERS BEWARE!
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room. Friendly staff. Fast to check in and out. Valet parking expensive. I parked down the street at the public parking for $9 dollars a day instead.
- 4/5
Great location on river walk, .. I would not eat breakfast there (severely overpriced ). Bar staff was not friendly .
- 5/5
Good clean fun. Drunk most of the time so comfy bed.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and the hotel was great.
- 1/5
I had a come back later tag on door because I don’t like people in my room (cleaning)!!!! They came in anyways!!! That is a big NO NO in my book. Took about 8 calls for someone to answer phone. They handled that situation ok. The coffee pot stopped working in room. Around 6pm. So I called front desk and called front desk and no answer!!!! Finally my husband goes down to front desk. The lady that was there gave him a cup of coffee and told him she would get him a new coffee pot and some pods. Welllllllll…………. The next morning we still didn't have a coffee pot!!!!!! In my opinion this hotel needs to work on their customer service and doing what they say they are going to!!!! If I ever get to go back to San Antonio I WILL NOT stay at this hotel or recommend it to anyone!!!!
- 5/5
Great stay at this location. Really, really enjoyed the bar. We watched the UFC fight in comfort.
- 4/5
Everything was clean, and looks like the photos. the only issue I have is they don't clean the room automatically in the morning, you actually have to call them and let them know you want them clean
- 3/5
Old needs updating beds were comfy and right on the river walk
- 5/5
Super bien ubicado. Excelentes precios.
- 5/5
The restaurant on site
- 3/5
The room we stayed in had an odor, couldn’t turn ac down passed 72 but other then that it was a good stay
- 5/5
We loved the location. Super convenient. We enjoyed the restaurant as well.
- 5/5
Great location to Riverwalk. Had an outdoor patio but it did not have any chairs to sit on or couches like the website showed. This is a beautiful area that should be used. Maybe re-do the outdoor area for guests to use in the evenings. Utilize this space!
- 5/5
Truly loved this vacation ! Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Property was very nice rooms clean we were right on the river close to restaurants and shopping. The restaurant inside of Holiday Inn Windows On The River was very good. Will stay again
- 5/5
Very enjoyable with family, have no complaints at all.
- 5/5
seems like every time we tried to use the restaurant it was closed.
- 5/5
The AC in the room had a hard time keeping up with the outside temperature, however we had a very pleasant time and look forward to returning!
- 2/5
No one cared
- 5/5
Very good and recommend.
- 5/5
First time in San Antonio and it was great. I especially like how convenient it is to get to the riverwalk
- 5/5
Everything was good
- 5/5
Clean rooms everything I need was there except hair dryer next time I remember to take my own
- 5/5
Adam at the front desk was great
- 3/5
We had 3 rooms during our stay. The AC in 2 of the 3 was barely working and the temps outside were upper 90s, so as the summer goes on and it is hotter, I'm sure it will be worse. Also, the smell of mold was very overwhelming in the corridor from the riverwalk to hotel door. The rooms were clean though. I wish the hot tub was open later hours.
- 5/5
had a graet time for the weekend
- 4/5
Room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Nice location, clean and updated hotel
- 4/5
Nice hotel, close to everything downtown. Only problem was the pool was tiny. Kids wanted to swim but it was not much bigger than a hot tub.
- 4/5
We only stayed one night and enjoyed how close the hotel was to the riverwalk. Great location. Staff were fine and hotel very clean. The only issue we had was the a/c. Our room stayed a bit warm for us. We tried several times to turned it down and it stayed at 70. Which I know might be great for others but we sleep best in 68. I did try to call the staff a few times and no one answered. The 3rd time the phone was picked up but no one spoke and it sounded like it was just taken off the receiver :). We didn’t even attempt to go downstairs because we were ready for bed. Outside of the air flow, everything else was great.
- 5/5
Solo traveler-Hotel staff friendly and professional, answer any and all my inquiries with a smile. Received a room with a view to the Riverwalk which was nice. The hotel area is a prime location to walk to multiple restaurants and entertainment on street level and Riverwalk. Tried the breakfast buffet, its was just ok (6/10) for $22.50 per. Only downside is the parking fee of $41 per day for (self-parking) & $49 for valet. Overall, had a great experience.
