Reviews
The hotel is in a poor condition with numerous complaints about cleanliness, broken amenities, and safety concerns. Many guests reported encounters with drug addicts, homeless people, and suspicious activities around the property.
- Close proximity to certain locations
- Friendly front desk staff in some instances
- Unclean rooms with stained sheets, dirty toilets, and roaches
- Safety concerns due to suspicious activities and people around the property

The rooms were very clean staff very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel . Will stay there again when I visit san antonio.
- 1/5
Did not receive my deposit back
- 5/5
The room as all new and very clean. There was major road construction so nothing that was under their control. Getting to the motel was difficult with roads being blocked off. Overall, very nice staff and modern rooms.
- 4/5
Very helpful staff, felt welcome and clean.
- 2/5
The staff was very accommodating and kind. Room floors were very filthy
- 1/5
Do NOT stay here. They charge a $100 deposit but then don’t refund it. They said they don’t have a receipt showing we were there and the owners are “out of the country”.
- 5/5
Overall, this is the best motel so far
- 5/5
Will not stay again!!!!!
- 4/5
buen lugar para dormir. nada de lujos pero decente para lo que pagas. me encanto el resturante que esta alado al cual pudimos ir caminando. tiene buena ubicacion cuando visitar New Braunfels
- 4/5
Good place to sleep. Nothing fancy, but decent for the price. I loved the restaurant next door, which we could walk to. It's well located when visiting New Braunfels.
- 4/5
No hay para hacerte café,no hay plancha y preferentemente usa tus propias toallas de ven perjudidas pero las camas son cómodas y las sábanas se veian limpias
- 3/5
No atm or vending machine. It’s equivalent to a motel. No iron.
- 3/5
Pool was not very clean and rooms weren’t either but for what you pay it’s worth it if your not lla
- 1/5
I got a room for the great price but it was not as advertised . They did not have a breakfast bar, the TV in the room had no cable so no new of the what the weather would be like. The biggest problem was that the door did not lock , anyone could open my door when I left the room so I couldn't leave my bags in the room they had to go with me . Would not recommend to family or friends.
- 5/5
Parking was convenient but there were a lot of wasps nest around the house and garage. We loved that there was a store across the street and was easy to find. Only other thing was that it was always warm in the "game room". We could not get the tv in the master bedroom to work. Other than that we had a great fun filled stay.
- 2/5
The room had a funny smell. There was graffiti on the electrical panel. The window blind did not go all the way down, and I could not even close it to block out the outside light. The staff was nice, but that was the only reason I didn't give a one-star review.
- 1/5
The check in was a long wait 20-25 minutes. The room was dirty. The sheets had stains on them and the towels had stains on them. We spotted two roaches in the room. I arrived late so in the morning when I checked out, I made the staff aware of the room. The lady was willing to give another night for free. but I did not want to stay another night on a side-note there is a lot of construction in the area so there is a lot of banging in the middle of the night. I was kind of curious how this was a 8.0 by reviews. I thought it was thoughtful that the staff offered another night, but I didn’t want to stay another night in a place that has roaches.
- 4/5
Fresh linens and towels provided daily. A bit noisy due to construction and a train near by. AC, TV, Microwave and Refrigerator works properly.
- 1/5
Would not recommend at all!!
- 2/5
The area was not the best
- 2/5
Place had a weird smell and ac did not work very good.
- 2/5
Staff did assign a room that was acceptable. Overall property is run down but they are renovating rooms "somewhat".
- 1/5
I didn't have high expectations, but the photos were very misleading, and I ended up disappointed. The late check-in process was inconvenient, and the bedding and towels were clearly worn out and should have been replaced long ago, yet they were still being used. The staff were friendly and courteous, which I appreciated, but unfortunately, almost everything else about my stay was unsatisfactory. I would not choose to stay here again.
- 4/5
The lady at the front desk was very nice. I had a great stay. Aimee.
- 2/5
Floor was dirty, amenities nonexistent hotel looks nothing like pics online. shady people around
- 1/5
Terrible stay! The lobby of the hotel is 3 hotels before Hallmark, I came in at 3am in the morning tired from driving, the person talking through a intercom had speech challenges and couldn't undertand a word he was saying it took me 5 min to drive form one hotel to the other because although its near since its next to the highway I had to cross it. This was not the worst, I finally got there the guy gives me the key and I go back and it doesn't work! had to go back and the guy came with me opened the room with a maser jey told me he would come back to give me the right key and never came back. 4 hours later I just wanted to get out of there. The room smelled like cigarette and food it was filthy. Worst ever!!!!
- 3/5
Staff was late to attend us. Staff wasn’t organized, kinda all over the place. Regardless helpful and rooms clean. Parking was spacious. Overall, good can’t be the price
- 3/5
First room was dirty with no tv but after I went to the help desk they gave me new room with tv and was cleaner so definitely not bad for the price
- 2/5
The room was clean
- 4/5
The motel was very nice. The room was very clean and it was very quiet. You could get to the motel right off I-35, which seems to be the main thoroughfare in San Antonio. The only thing I noticed was that there were wires hanging in the walkways, like they were being installed and someone left for the day. In our room, the cable wire wasn't completely fastened to the wall.
- 4/5
Room was renovated and clean. Comfortable bed too. Outside of hotel is very old and unappealing. Elevator was old. The lobby was not finished, no breakfast as all the tables were pushed together and not in use. They obviously did a good job updating the rooms but need to apply the same attention to the entire property. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
A great value for the stay, exceptionally clean rooms, and the staff is very service oriented! I could not have asked for more and plan to stay here in future visits.
- 2/5
The young lady at the front desk was very kind. That is where the pros end. The room was dirty. The sheets were stained and even had crumbs and dirt in them indicating that the sheets were not changed from the previous guest. I slept on top on the blankets and the mattress was incredibly uncomfortable. The cleaning staff should be throughly assessed for quality. They clearly don’t put much effort into cleaning the rooms. The bathroom wall had mold growing on it. I don’t typically complain about my stays because usually I get what I pay for. But the bare minimum for a stay anywhere is clean sheets and that was not met.
- 1/5
Hotel is nothing like the picture . Terrible entrance one way in one way out no breakfast no coffee no soda machine. $100 deposit and the room only only cost half at. And then three days later still do not have my deposit back, had to dispute with the bank who said that they never tried returning it.
- 5/5
Cool
- 5/5
Even though it was not expensive at all the rooms were extremely nice cannot beat it for the price
- 1/5
My fiancé, brother, and i were suppose to stay for 5 nights because we saw the reviews were good. I'd say just stay for 1 night max. When we first walked in we weren't greeted which is fine but the lady's at the front DID not acknowledge us at all and we stood standing in front of them for a good 2 minutes, they were just talking to eachother. Then by the second day we had a little kid knock on our door A FEW TIMES and then continued to look around as if someone was waiting for us to open the door. Throughout the night we just kept hearing banging and lots of sketchy movements so we decided to leave in the morning. So basically they have thin walls. In the morning we had a person knock on the door, which was not housekeeping or the workers and continue to try and open our doors just like the little kid from lastnight. Overall NOT a good experience
- 5/5
The room was very clean and staff was very nice and fixed the one problem I had immediately.
- 3/5
No fue lo que esperábamos. Faltó atención ya que no hay ni siquiera agua potable.
- 5/5
Not bad for the price
- 3/5
Mi depósito aún no lo he recibido, tuve que llamar a la recepción.
- 3/5
However, the stay had two major operational issues. First, the Wi-Fi was either completely down or failed to reach my room. This was a significant detriment as I was unable to stream to the TV or play video games online. When I notified the front desk, the staff was unhelpful and simply stated there was nothing they could do about it. Second, housekeeping completely skipped my room—not once did they clean anything during my entire 3-night stay. Good if you only need a bed and cold air, but do not count on the amenities or the service.
- 4/5
Its was overall good experience.
- 2/5
They need more amenities in the rooms. No coffee maker, no cups for drinks, and staff available after 9pm. You can’t watch tv without a pin. No staff to help. For a $100 deposit was not worth it. You’ll get it back, but they should provide more amenities.
- 5/5
Tina is an excellent staff member who was very kind, polite, and helpful. Would recommend.
- 5/5
For the price, it was a great stay. The staff was accommodating and very pleasant. The air conditioning was great, especially during this heat wave.
- 5/5
Staff very friendly and the room was very clean
- 5/5
ThI room was nice and quiet
- 4/5
The staff at this hotel is what stood out the most. They were really friendly and welcoming.
- 3/5
The property was hard to get to bec of the construction and the fact that they had the side gate locked. The office is only open 9-9 and they ask for cash deposit so u have to wait for them to open to get that back bef you can leave. The property is also near a train track which u hear trains all night. Dont think we will stay here again.
- 4/5
The room was clean but outdated. The bathroom door needs replacing and the lighting in the room and bathroom is very dim. Otherwise the property was clean and convenient to the highway. Staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was an upgrade to the typical continental affair most places offer. The lady cooking was super friendly.
- 1/5
I left a "100% refundable" security deposit with this business. However, when it was returned, they deducted the credit card processing fees from my money. When I asked about it, they claimed the front desk informed me of this policy, but I have absolutely no recollection of that ever being stated. Square's rules explicitly state that merchants should not use standard transactions for security deposits, and processing fees are a business cost—not something to be taken out of a customer's refund. Make sure to pay cash or check here if you want your deposit back in full. I will be reporting this to Square as well.
- 1/5
Front desk girl was nice but sheets and towels were stained. Did not stay the night.
- 1/5
I am appalled at the thought that Expedia would even have a hotel at this level on their website. I have used them for years and plan on finding someone else to book there. I pray no one books at this hotel. P.S. the door would not lock because someone had kicked it in and broke it. I told them about it and their response was they knew and would get to it when they could!! Poor excuse!!
- 4/5
The management went out of their way to make us more comfortable, once it was Available,in the same day, for my husband and his disabilities. Moved us from the 2nd floor to the first. The staff was friendly and always willing to give a supply if needed. A friendly and helpful environment.
- 3/5
no way to hang up clothes on a hangar, no breakfast. The lights used to lighten up the parking lot, were very bright, so much so that at 1:00 in the morning, was like trying to fall asleep at 6:00pm. The price for a two night stay was very reasonable, however, next time , i will stay somewhere else even if I have to pay 30 dollars more per night.
- 4/5
I recommend checking in before 9PM for a better experience, but the staff and property were nice and accommodating.
- 5/5
Very clean room looks remolded!
- 5/5
Clean rooms
- 3/5
Although the water that came out of the sink faucet wasn’t clear! Shower water fine. There are only blinds on the windows and no curtains to keep the light out. Other than that it was fine for 1 night.
- 5/5
Good ac Good water temp Good staff Easy parking Overall and good spot for a good price🔥
- 5/5
The outside needs a little remodeling but the rooms are remodeled i highly recommend this place its great for the price!! Plus the staff they have the best staff!!
- 5/5
My second time staying at this motel. It’ll definitely be my go-to place to stay when needing a clean budget friendly place to stay in San Antonio.
- 1/5
Very dirty
- 5/5
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the entire property felt safe and peaceful. Traveling can be stressful, but staying here made us feel right at home. If you’re looking for a place with exceptional hospitality, cleanliness, and a genuine sense of care, I highly recommend the Hallmark Inn. Thank you for making our stay such a wonderful experience!
- 5/5
The staff was very helpful and allowed my brother in-law to check in for me after I sent my photo ID and written statement that he could do so on my behalf. The room was clean, ac worked well and there was work space. We were also given an extra 45 mins to check out free of charge.
- 2/5
Nice clean rooms but disappointing that no toilet paper was available. Even in front counter the lady unable to find toilet paper. So luckily she found only one. Another disappoint issue they charged the deposit fee of 109$. Now I have to do a claim. 😫
- 5/5
10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in San Antonio. The staff and service were nice and friendly. They went out of their way to help us with a late check-in. The room was very clean and spacious. We had no problem getting our deposit back. The water pressure was really good and the AC was immaculate. Everything was perfect!
- 4/5
Nice place unfortunately there was alot of construction happening when we stayed but it was a good spot. Clean, staff was friendly and didn't have any issues. One can tell they are slowly upgrading and doing changes to the property.
- 5/5
Rooms was clean staff was helpful they were very accommodating to me and my family with some of the things we needed would stay here anytime I come we had 3 rooms all of them were great
- 5/5
Only negative thing was no breakfast but that was not a deal breaker as it was close to restaurants
- 1/5
Check in procedure was a pain. There is no employee in the front lobby at night. The man before me was told to go to a hotel down the street to check in at this hotel. The owner walked down to check us in 10 minutes later. The lobby was a disaster…so unprofessional! The cameras are constantly following you and I witnessed them taking pictures of my wife. The room was extremely dirty, it was questionable if the sheets were clean because there were several hairs on them, many things were in disrepair, the toilet seat was falling off (I fixed that), and the front door jamb appeared to have been kicked in several times. In general, the place was a dump and felt unsafe. Not sure exactly what hotel all the other 10/10 reviewers were staying at!?! I suspect someone is writing fake reviews.
- 5/5
Room was ice cold great for the humidity in San antone
- 3/5
Room itself was much nicer than the property itself. Area was sketchy, and a very loud train went by 3 or 4 times during the night, blowing its horn loudly. Also, I didn’t like that when I got there, the lady said a $100 deposit was required, but if I used a credit/debit card, they would charge an extra $6 that wouldn’t be refunded. Pretty sure the listing didn’t mention that. I know credit cards charge fees, but not 10%. Our room was only $66. And I don’t think debit cards charge fees. The room did look clean and renovated, had nice blackout curtains, and was only 12 minutes from the airport, so I guess it’s okay for the price.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. A/C works great. Rooms have been remodeled.
- 5/5
Clean room ,cool a/c,friendly staff
- 5/5
Clean, cool room, hot shower. The parking lot was spacious fenced in secure everyone at the front desk I dealt with was just super nice 👍
- 5/5
Our room was clean, well-maintained, and updated with a modern touch that added to the overall comfort of our visit. It was a relaxing and comfortable place to unwind after a long day. Overall, we had a very positive experience and will definitely consider staying here again on future trips to San Antonio. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay with excellent customer service!
- 5/5
The renovation work really updated the rooms, the bathroom and sink area was clean… Staff was great and friendly…
- 5/5
The hotel was wonderful, but the girl on the desk was exceptional, cheerful and smile on her face all the time. Blessy was her name, bee sure she is in there so you’ll have a better experience
- 5/5
Don’t judge à book by its cover or a hotel by its outside look! Our stay was amazing, the owner was very nice and professional. I explained I previously had a horror story at a hotel down the street. (I was at the previous hotel for about an hour a left). Owner guaranteed I was gonna love our stay! We loved it, Hotel room was clean, newly renovated rest room, big flat screen tv, cold à/c, comfortable beds. I highly recommend you book à stay with them,
- 5/5
Super friendly, nice comfy bed and rooms.
- 3/5
If you plan to come in late at night I probably wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The office is only open from 9am-9pm so when we checked in later we had to go to a whole other hotel about 2 mins away to get the key. The lady was nice and helpful but it was just a bit of an inconvenience that I found out after I booked. There wasn’t necessarily anything super bad but considering this was rated an 8.4 on hotels.com I was a little confused how it got that score because everything was just okay. Elevator didn’t work with the key. You could hear dogs barking in rooms when I thought it was no pets allowed. The door looked like it was held together by a sketchy piece of wood. All in all, it did its job as a hotel to give us somewhere to rest for the night but I was just thrown off.
- 3/5
Wanted a deposit but would charge $6 even if no problems. They called it a processing fee. The front desk not open until 9am. The side entrance to get in the parking lot blocked off. Could not get to the hotel because of one way street. Had to drive around again for a few miles to get to the only entrance. The room was newly renovated and clean but the exterior of the property and the lobby were in need of significant repair/upgrades. Not sure why it’s listed as very good on Expedia. Would not stay here again.
- 5/5
On the outside this motel might not look like much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how well the inside was. It was very clean and organized. Not a single thing to be worried about.
- 5/5
I highly recommend Hallmark Inn and Suites on 6370 Interstate 35, San Antonio, TX, 78218. I would definitely return to this property, if I ever come back to San Antonio. Sonia, if you and your family ever come to Hawaii (Big Island), please call me. I will totally return your kindness that you have shown me. Thank you so much!!!!
- 1/5
This matter needs to be resolved as agreed. It is so frustrating. The room is clean. The parking lot looked dirty and not very safe.
- 5/5
My stay was great. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful. Would recommend staying here!
- 4/5
We had a nice stay. Despite the appearance of the outside of the building, the rooms were newly refurbished. It's a work in progress and I'm sure eventually everything will be updated. I cannot complain about the inside of our actual room because everything was new and clean and we had a good night's rest without disruption. The occasional train passed, but we weren't bothered. For the price we paid, it was a good value. We would stay there again!
- 5/5
It was really good here. Lady at front desk was nice and rooms were renovated so they were extra clean. 10/10
- 5/5
Secure parking, good location, malls is about 7 miles
- 4/5
Friendly staff.
- 3/5
AC was not as comfortable as it could be
- 1/5
Room was ok. Staff were rude. Parking was ok. AC was ok
- 5/5
The staff ate very friendly and accommodating :)
- 5/5
This property has been renovated, it looks great my room had a fridge and microwave, is located on the service road of I35 N , they still working on it but it is very clean , and close to many places. I will stay again here. Outside is not so nice but rooms are clean and fresh. Parking is secure with a fence, so you can sleep peacefully, price is very good.. no breakfast no pool
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful when we needed a place to stay last minute after a prior hotel reservation fell through. We were traveling with children so it was so appreciated, especially with it being late as well. The room was clean and the price was fair. We would come back!
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Clean room, smart tv
- 4/5
This is an old property undergoing renovation. A little rough around the edges, but excellent and accommodating staff.
- 1/5
I understand you get what you paid for, however the property was extremely dirty! Smelled disgusting and I know it was just for one night since we needed a place to stay quickly before it got more late at night but there’s no excuse for being the way it was.
- 1/5
This place did not look anything like the photo they have up. Our pillow cases had stains, floor had stains, my wife explaines it as a prostitution hotel environment.
- 1/5
This property is under construction and remodeling. No elevators working. Bathrooms not working. SuperTerrible
- 1/5
Dorty, broken door locks, door was alreadyopen. Looked like a drug den. Did not even unpack our luggage. We returned the key cards and left. Will not use .locks,
- 3/5
Property was decent
- 1/5
Absolutely terrible condition to stay
- 1/5
I can NOT believe yall are advertising this "hotel". It was a literal crack den. I didnt even stay. I let them keep my money so I could walk away unscathed. The room had the drawers ripped out of the dresser (and missing). The AC unit was broken down to wires. There were obvious addicts/homeless people surrounding the building/sitting outside the rooms. I only saw one woman...and she was an obvious homeless woman pushing a shopping cart around. The man at the front desk told me to go check the room to "make sure everything was there" (it OBVIOUSLY WASNT ALL THERE... the dang AC was destroyed). The men in the room next door to my room were openly redistributing furniture from different rooms as if they lived there and they were looking for the "best" stuff. I would not, as a single woman, stay there if it was the zombie apocalypse. I genuinely cried leaving the building out of fear of what COULD have happened. This is a place where people are trafficked. Im lucky all they got was my money.
- 1/5
Apartment condition was very poor, even the toilet got no tissues, and the management was the worst I have ever seen. Waited 30 min standing outside before someone came over and opened the gate at the working hours.
- 1/5
The hotels condition it’s self was terrible. The outside was full of homeless people, and crazies. When going upstairs their was needles on the edge. When at first we went to check in, we were lost because we couldn’t find the building that was in the pictures. And let me tell you, the building looks nothing like the pictures you see in the booking. Upon checking in, the front desk clerk was sitting down on a couch crossed legged, using his laptop, and he greets you by saying “yes”. We went back to ask for a refund he gave it to us, but was very nonchalant.
- 1/5
The front desk had no one there. When he did show up he was on drugs or drunk. It was the worst experience I've had renting a room never again. We went to our room it was dirty the sheets were not even washed. We ended up leaving soon thereafter.
- 1/5
This hotel was not the best. We had broken lights , missing buttons , and roaches. The pictures of course don’t match up to what’s previewed .
- 1/5
they accidentally cleaned out my room with my things still inside and gave my room to someone else. i didn’t feel safe at all in this location. towels and sheets are dirty.
- 1/5
Do not recommend at all. I booked a 2 bed non smoking room. Room I was put into had a heavy smoke smell, towels, comforter and room was poorly cleaned. Asked to be put into another room which took a while since their systems weren’t accurate to show what rooms were occupied. Finally placed in another room which was also horrible but by that time I just needed to sleep. Sheets had yellow stains, no toilet paper. bathroom door had a punch or kick hole and was hanging off the hinge.
- 3/5
Bad conditions inside of room and outside of hotel
- 1/5
We got to the hotel at 1:30 am and there was Roaches in the elevator. The room was dirty and there was people fighting outside our room. We didn't feel comfortable or safe at all to the point we left. Very sad because we had to find a new hotel and we didn't have the money to do that it ruined our weekend.
- 2/5
Sheets were stained and me and my wife had to sleep in separate beds because of that. Toilet wasn’t flushing and tub was stained and dirty
- 2/5
Sleeping on the pillows gave me a headache and the sheets were not clean. I had to clean the sheets myself so it would help if they did better housekeeping and got new pillows. The bathtub was in disrepair and look like it had been patched with mesh and there were still holes in it. Unusable bathtub. If they repaired the tub by just getting a new cheap top that will go a long way in fixing the problems.
- 1/5
We actually had to get another hotel. The rooms smelt moldy the pool was torn up the ac did not cool the room. There were a couple of doors on other rooms that look like they had been broken into. Several motel guest would try to look into our trim as we would open our door to go in and out several not sure if guest or not people loitering on second floor
- 1/5
I nearly got caught up in the middle of a drug deal going wrong. I had to leace cause i didnt want to catch a stray bullet
- 1/5
There were stains on the towels & several holes on the walls throughout the room & bathroom. I would honestly like a refund.
