Econo Lodge Inn & Suites San Antonio near Frost Bank Center

I came for family members Navy graduation and wanted the most geographically convenient stay. The pool is non-existent; it is filled with rocks. The attendant said we don't bother you, if you need anything come and ask. When I complained about bugs-roaches in my room, the attendant said, "this is Texas". The hair dryer did not work and there was half of roll of toilet paper and 3 towels. I would never return to this motel.

You can tell that it had been burned before there were still blinds that were burned and melted also the the part of the roof you can see was missing a piece also the rooms were dirty we had to get another room upon arrival there were no bags in the room for the trash cans I saw two roaches in the room my husband was stung by a bee we asked them to get the bees down because my husband is allergic they would not take it down I asked him just to give me a broom for it he would not give me a broom and said he was going to call the the cleaning ladies or the maintenance there were no amenities here we paid months in advance for this room because it was close to the frost Tower Bank where we were coming to San Antonio to visit for a concert at the frost Tower Bank we asked for a refund and was told we cannot have a refund because he had already moved us to another room but the reason he moved us to another room within the first 5 minutes of us being there it was because the first room was disgusting and dirty there were hairs on the sheets as well as on the floor and the restroom and inside of the shower so that lets me know that they did not clean those rooms when we got to the second room there was still hairs in the restroom floor I cleaned the door knobs and light switches and wipe everything down every time we go stay somewhere it was Clorox wipes but still we should not have to see hair

The pool was filled with rocks. Had roaches in our room, which the attendant said "well it's Texas's. Was given 3 towels and 1/2 role of toilet paper, and the blow dryer did not work.

Overall for the price, I was satisfied.

I left a happy man. Close enough to the Alamodome for an easy ride back to a very clean and cold room for a great night’s rest. Definitely staying again.

They need to keep up with the rooms more B4 they let people stay in them. Not a recommendation. Better places have been cleaner for the same price.

This place is a dump. You could see daylight all around the door. Cracks in the ceiling, paint was spotty and different colors. Dead and still alive roaches and spiders. One of the beds had dirty sheets. Room wreaked of cigarette smoke. Chair was stained and needed to be thrown out. Property advertised with a pool but the pool was filled in with rock. We left early due to the uncleanliness and smell.

My stay was horrible, dirty women’s underwear left outside the room. The door did not close shut, AC did not work, hair in the sink, holes all over the walls with wire sticking out, dead bugs in the drawers. I checked in around 3 and checked out by 5. The room did not look anything close to the picture on the site. I do not recommend this hotel.

If you expect a 5star hotel for under $60 a night, you're expecting too much. The staff was nice and the rooms were quiet. Bedding and bathroom was clean but don't look under the couch and don't expect there to be a pool. Also, don't walk anywhere in the neighborhood. Luckily it's $10-$15 for a Lyft to Riverwalk or the Hispanic market.

This place is suffering from poor management and economic issues. The soda machines were inoperable, depleted housekeeping staff, the continental breakfast was non existent, and their was stereotypical behavior ( dark skinned bigotry). I wouldn't recommend this place, eventhoughy room was clean. I wouldn't recommend this placem I give it a 3/10

Was pleasantly surprised when we arrived on our room it was clean air worked just fine was equipped with all amenities stated online staff was courteous and kind we stayed til last minute the bed sucked u in and made u want to stay it was a wonderful experience usually we try to get away and pay an outrageous amount and nothing offered is available but this was a fabulous visit price was right and I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice room with wonderful staff and reasonable price will definitely stay again and we got a smoking room which never has an ashtray this one had 2 thank you econo I will be returning...,...

The room was clean. Due to location there was road noise and it seems that some people are staying more long term.

The refrigerator clicks loud noise. Mattress needs to be replaced i could feel the springs in my back. I will not stay there again.

Room was ok, except the roach crawling on the wall when we opened the door. While the facility purports to have a free breakfast, when we got up the doors to the entrance were locked and there was nothing to be found. Staff was pleasant and helpful on arrival.

The room smelt of pot and cigarettes. The bathroom door had been kicked in. I rented 2 rooms and the charged me for both rooms after I paid through Expedia.

Room was great and always felt safe. The only problem I had was that they did not come and make up the room one single time. I even called them and told them I was about to leave and they never came after me asking them to. I was there for three nights. I did get charged on an additional service fee of two dollars per night that was not expected.

Room was nothing state of the art. I arrived at the hotel early after calling to say I would and they said it would be ok, and the room "wasn't ready" bu the time I came, had to wait about and 1.5 hrs to get into the room. Area is not great but it's not incredibly dangerous.

The springs in mattress wear coming out like fleas on a dog. The ice machine broken the vending machines broken. If you’re there for a night I guess it’s okay. Just expect old mattresses stabbing you.

This appears to be a family-owned hotel, but unfortunately the staff was not friendly or helpful. We originally booked one night because we weren’t sure if we would stay a second night. The front desk staff told us we could extend our stay if needed. The next day, I booked the second night through Expedia, which I normally use for travel. When I went to the front desk to confirm our second night for both rooms, the staff said we had to pay an additional $25 per room as an “early check-in fee,” even though we were already staying there and not checking in early. She insisted we had to check out, remove all our belongings, and return after 3 PM if we didn’t want to pay the fee. I contacted Expedia right away in front of her since the booking had just been made, but she refused to approve the cancellation and insisted on the extra charge. It felt like she only wanted additional money from guests. In the end, we paid the fee for one room because my dad wasn’t feeling well and needed to rest. The second room also had a bad smell, but we didn’t complain because the staff seemed impatient and unhelpful. Overall, this experience was very uncomfortable, and I would not stay here again. I also don’t think this property should be listed on Expedia if they are charging extra fees like this and treating guests poorly.

No they had roaches and the room wasn't clean. Still drity from last person. The only reason i stay was because i book third party . And i didnt know what to do . So i kept my stuff in bags. And stay out the room most of the day.

The hotel receptionist asked of “hotel service fees”. Weird and unheard of.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Easy check in and check out. Our room was spacious and nice. My only issue was the floors were dirty. My feet were filthy following a fresh shower. The area was nice and it had easy access to main roads and freeway. Other than dirty feet, I had a good and comfy stay.

For the price this was a good spot to stay. Very quiet. Less than 2 miles from freeman Coliseum. Place just need to be updated.

AC didn’t work, appliances didn't work and were dirty.

Too many roaches, and i did not get back the $50.00 they held for some security purpose, i was there for 4 days not one person knock in my door and ask or tell me where to put dirty towels or get clean one.

I won't stay here again. Only good thing was there was no road (highway) noise in the room.

We would probably stay here again due to convenience and cheap price . We like to go out and only need to lay our heads down. There were no bugs and the shower worked well which is a plus. We will definitely not be getting a smoking room though.

Rooms good for the price and conveniently located near Frost Bank Center

We stayed for 3 nights. The photos online made it look better than it actually was. The beds were super hard. There were trash bags just hanging out on the side walk for our entire visit.

Bathtub was filthy with dirty water stains. The room had no AC unit and the space it belongs was left open so that the only thing between the inside of the room and the outside was a large but thin long vent near the door. You could see to the outside and hear everyone walking through the hall through the vent. Most surfaces were visibly covered in dust and dirt. I cleaned the sink area and the white towel came back brown. Ceiling lights were duct taped in place. It almost seemed like the room I was given was under construction and not ready for people.

We chose this property based on the hot breakfast and pool… they canceled their breakfast and didn’t notify us so we could re-budget our trip. The pool pictures looked beautiful online just for us to get there and see that they filled it in with dirt.

The room was dirty cobwebs dirty used bandages. The restroom look like it was just spot cleaned toilet had marks in it like was just used . The door jam has marks like it was kicked in at some point and the did a bad job repairing it. The window was so dirty. The refrigerator was so iced over.

It was in the 40’s and their heater only blew out cold air and their hair dryer did not work. My poor soulmate was freezing and she had to sleep with her coat and clothes on. My body went into violent cramping last night because of exhaustion from the competition and the coldness of the room. The hotel attendant came and verified that the heater did not work and he offered for us to use the next room but we were too exhausted to do so. The only saving grace was that they had hot water but my poor gf had wet hair due to a broken hair dryer! This was our worst hotel experience together because my soulmate suffered because of the lack of heat.

Came to visit my daughter who is stationed in San Antonio. The room was clean, yet no coffee pot to make coffee in the room. The refrigerator made a ticking sound so at night I unplugged it. Need new towels…the ones available could be donated to a group for car washes. Other than that, it is convenient and close to base.

Other people underwear in the drawers and roaches tub was not cleaned

Although the accommodations were close to our event the room didn't measure up. The room did not have the clean smell, might have been an animal friendly room.

One of the drawers were not cleaned and had a bunch of garbage and crumbs of some sort from previous stay but staff were quick to come in and clean after being made aware. Staff were nice and respectful.

It is really close to Fort Sam Houston base. Literally less than 5 minutes. Fast food restaurants are close, too.

Good basic economy hotel. No frills but good for a night or to on a budget. Was close to my destination. Does have a minimal complementary breakfast.

Room appeared clean. But its not. The pull out couch had a used bed sheet still on it. Then when we were leaving I pulled all the bed sheets off and the waterroof mattress covered hadnt been changed looks like months. Had tons of crumbs. Blood stains and yellow stains. Just nasty and cant believe we slept on that sheet. It was covered by another sheet so we didnt see it until I pulled all the sheets off. You get what you pay for. Cheap room, cheap place. Their "Continental breakfast" was stale fruit loops. Pakcaged muffins and honey buns, one waffle maker. Just sucked. I should of known better though for the cheaper price. This was only half of my experience. Ugh.

Hotel room floors were filthy and so were the counters and they had poor breakfast options. Fridge did not work and it wasnt the only moldy think in the room.

Cigarette Burn stains on the non-smoking room. Dirty and dusty room with a weird smell. I complained and was told i could check out in the morning and they would refund me the 2 days. That was not true when i checked out the next day, they imposed the no-refund policy and keep all the money. I had to report them to Hotels.com. I had a nightmare experience. I gave them every opportunity to fix the issue. So an apology after the fact now will not be accepted.

Everything was wonderful. But didn’t understand the three pillows for two people. Either give two, good size pillows (one each) or two, smaller pillows (two each).

The place is a nice size A lot.. I got there and check the beds always for bed bugs but found a wad of hair and pubes in the bed sheet.. the bed still smelled like perfume and man from the last people that were there. There was also a dirty used q tip left on the floor and there was urine build up around the thing that holds the seat on. Also soap residue from the last people was left on the sink not wiped off at all. And the toilet stopped working correctly.. I went to front office asked for all new bedding even told them to just leave in the room and I would change it. They didn’t bring any said she forgot.. I left a day early

The location since we are only passing through and it is very central The room was somewhat dirty, as was the coffee maker, there was a water leak in the bathtub faucet and in the morning we saw several cockroaches in the bathroom just before we left.

Fridge, microwave (not listed, so it was a positive surprise), wifi working fine. Quiet area. Near from city center (20 min drive) and Six Flags. Nice staff. I'd have liked to have more food shops near open until late (not only petrol station shops).

Paid extra to check in early and a/c in the room didn’t even work. Took another 30-45 minutes to get another room once it was figured out that the a/c truly wasnt working. By the time we got into the room it was close to our regular check in time..no we didn’t get a refund

The location was in a not so good place. I asked for room service, and they never came. I had to go to the front desk to get towels. The room was not stock with towels.

Bathroom had mold. Air conditioner was the loudest thing Ive ever heard. Towels had mold. Holes in the wall.

The shower also did not work and only had cold water. The toilet also leaked at times. This was actually our second room as we had to switch cause the door did not work for the first room. Also, several lights did not work either.

First thing was the smoke alarm kept beeping and needed to be disconnected. The manager on duty did that. Then when I went to wash hands…NO WATER! None on faucet none in tub, couldn’t even flush toilet. Had to call front desk again. He said he’ll work on it and should be ok in 15 minutes. I told him I wanted to go visit things in town since on vacation and not sit in my motel room. He finally did get it working but I’ve never experienced anything like this. It’s like they hadn’t rented out this room in awhile and they let things go a bit.

Motel rooms were spotless comfortable and very spacious. Staff was amazing. Very sweet lady at nighttime front desk. That i found them at the end of my vavation.

I booked a smoking double bed handicap accessible. The first room they gave me was a single King smoking. The 2 room was Non-smoking room but 2 beds. I was told all smoking double beds were on the second floor. And the handicap accessible room was not available due to renovations. The bathroom had black spots on the wall above the shower, shower knob was already broken. There were two black bugs found in the room. One was on the wall above one of the beds, and the other was above the sink area. The refrigerator was on its coldest setting but wasn't really cold. Put my can drinks in the freezer and they became cold enough to drink.

No carpet was a surprise but understandable. Good place to stay. If we come this way again we will stay here again.
