Great location, tours, bikes, public transportation right outside. Great view of Alamo outside window. Room itself was decent a typical bed and bathroom BUT the water in shower goes from ice cold to hottest possible during shower and AC was horrible. We had 4 different guys come look at our AC every single one was very friendly but gave us completely different answers on what the problem was, one guy even cleaned out the pipes from the rooms ceiling and NOTHING worked for 5 minutes and back to hot air. Front desk didn’t care, not even an offer to change rooms. Offer valet parking it’s crazy $60

Location was perfect for visiting the Alamo next door and walking through the mall across the street to get to the Riverwalk. Staff were all friendly and accommodating and we liked the semi-secluded pool area. Historic hotel didn't have a lot of conveniences (not expected) but seems tacky to charge for coffee at their "cafe". Excellent choice for first time visitors, especially the hop on hop off trolley that stops right at the door and highly recommended to get a feel for the area without time constraints. Smaller rooms, difficult parking, some rowdy guests, so probably would stay at a different location next time.

The property from the lobby looks nice but our room was extremely small. You could hardly walk inside the room. The tv was not working well and pretty old. The location was fabulous!! Within walking distance to everything and right next to the Alamo and Alamo Plaza. The smell as soon as you walked in the door was wonderful. I wish I could bottle up whatever that scent was in the lobby! The historical charm was wonderful. However, the beds were not very comfortable and I would recommend taking your own pillow (or maybe I’m just picky cause I have a bad neck). The carpet was very dingy and stained.

Check-in was quick and easy. Found the room to be clean and satisfactory. Around edge of the bed they were large hairs on the floor that tells me that not much put into cleaning the carpet. When we return to the hotel late in the evening, the air conditioner was not working. And repeated attempts to contact the front desk from the room phone remained unanswered. Attempts to contact the hotel from our cell phones also remain unanswered. It was so late we endured it. But it was a miserable night sleep. In the morning finally got front desk first they told me they couldn’t really be reached by the hotel phone. The best they could do was comp my parking. The bar was nice and the live music was wonderful.

We’ve stayed here several times in the past and always had a good experience. This visit did not meet our expectations. The room (queen bed) was smaller than expected (room 211). We’ve had a larger bathroom on a cruise ship. Only one person can fit in the bathroom at a time. Pretty sure this is a room for one person, but 2 can manage in a pinch. Location of the room was awful. Didn’t know at check-in that we were right over the tavern with nightly live entertainment until at least 11pm. It was very loud and made getting an early nights rest impossible. It’s also an inside room so you have to keep the shutters closed completely when you are in the room or folks in the lobby or across the lobby can just look right in (pro tip - get an even numbered room). We were told at check-in that the room would be serviced on the third day. When we left that 3rd day morning the room servicing folks were down the hall. Came back to the room late in the evening to find the room just as it was. Completely untouched. 3rd failure for Crockett on this trip. I doubt that we will ever go back.

  • Daisy Jul 2026 · via hotels.com
    4/5

There were a few downsides, though. Parking was valet only and cost over $100+ for our stay, which was much more than we expected. The hotel pool was also closed due to "it being cleaned" so we had to use the pool at their sister property across the street. While it was nice they offered an alternative, it wasn’t as convenient. The beds weren’t very comfortable, so we didn’t get the best night’s sleep. I’d also say this hotel is better suited for couples or adults looking for a getaway rather than families with young kids. On the positive side, the restaurant downstairs was delicious, the shower had excellent water pressure, and the air conditioning worked perfectly it kept the room nice and cold, which was especially appreciated during the Texas heat. One thing that surprised us was that housekeeping never came by to make the bed or refresh the room during our stay. We didn’t have a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, so we had expected at least a quick housekeeping service. Overall, we really enjoyed the stay.

My concern after staying in The Crockett each year for the last 20 years is the maintenance of the rooms. There was no complimentary hand soap, lotion or water bottle that is traditionally in a hotel room. The A/C fan had a wicked rattle that kept me up at night. It is one of the updates that need to be made to the historic hotel in order to keep customers coming back.

Traveled w a teen. He liked the pool. Hotel is in a nice area across Alamo . Breakfast is not included at all. They have. A small coffee shop and a rest bar tavern which is really nice decor. Hotel overall is well maintained on their deco rooms are not the best. Carpets are stained and elevators are tiny. Except noises at night si ce it’s close to highway. Also very sketchy around at night so many homeless and not enough security. Mall is also next to it and parking lot is expensive along with their valet. Overall we enjoyed it but I wouldn’t stay there since it’s a bit sketchy at night. Old vibes experience only.

The Crocket Hotel has only valet parking available for their hotel which will cost you about $45-$60 per day. They charge a daily deposit of $75. Upon our arrival we had to report to the front desk that our shower tub would not drain and our conditioning was not working correctly. They did not send someone to help with the issues so the second day I made another attempt and was able to get the issues resolved.

The bed had two flat sheets, no fitted sheet. The light above the bathtub was hanging down by an electric cable. There were stains on the pillow cases and bed cover. The staff was nice, but their availability was limited it seemed. My family stayed six nights, but every time I wanted/needed fresh towels I had to ask. The last tome I asked for towels we never received them. We were left reusing towels from night before. Granted, I was told upfront no one would clean the room till we left. We were left with overflowing trash cans and a pile of towels on the bathroom floor. I could see this being ok for a person only staying a few days but someone staying more than 3 days their room could use some help, fresh towels, emptying of the trash can, that can go a long way. An added bonus would be to have microwaves in all the rooms not just one per hall. Over all the stay was pleasant, but the things mentioned above would make it so much better!

The Crockett Hotel was great. Our check-in was slightly delayed, but the gentleman at the desk was very accommodating, stored our luggage for us and then took it up to our room when our room was ready. We went over to the Crockett Tavern and grabbed a late lunch while waiting. The location is great if you’re wanting to do the Alamo and be downtown you’re close to the Riverwalk. There was a lot of construction which no reflection on them, but it didn’t make it hard to get around and park. Our room was huge. It was clean oddly enough. There were several chairs in there, but none of them faced the TV but we weren’t there to spend time in the room. I was a little surprised. I got up early and went down to get coffee, and the coffee shop did not open until six which I thought was a little late The icemaker on our floor did not work and there was not vending on every level and you can’t buy a Diet Coke there which was a big concern for me. We were directed to the Walgreens three blocks over other than that great probably will stay there again our next trip to San Antonio.

Room was quiet and clean. Hotel is older and could use upgrades, but is well maintained enough that is be even much of a tight thought. Beds comfy, good shower, clean. The gentlemen at front desk was lovely. Tavern was great. Although I asked a girl who worked there if that was the Alamo right next door, and she had NO IDEA. I was a little dumbfounded, but that speaks to that generation and not the hotel. Parking is expensive and added an extra 59 a night. We tried to self park but the lot was trying to charge us even more. The valet guy was new and didn't know about the self park. Coffee was ok, didn't have decaf unless you ordered the espresso, which was not very good. It did have a Coffee maker in the room. Walgreens was a 10 minute walk. Nice area, very tourist but this hotel is right smack dab in the middle of it all. Excellent location and I would stay again.

The customer service attended was the worst we have ever received; we decided not to stay at the hotel and requested a full refund. I hope the hotel takes action regarding this, as that person needs training on how to treat customers; he was extremely rude to both my wife and me. His name is Eduardo Alcantor; he refused to give me his name, so I found it out through the valet parking attendant.
