Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Lackland

The hotel was conveniently located to the Airforce base. The staff was very helpful.

Nice and clean Construction

I always book through Expedia and like this Hotel (Residence in by Marriott). I travel every 3 weeks. I dislike that I am charged for parking by Residence in by Marriott and that is not announced as "extra" by Expedia when selecting a Hotel. None of the other Hotels in San Antonio, TX have ever charged me "extra" for Parking and I've stayed at half a dozen.

The location for this hotel is in a great location, for shopping, out door activities and restaurants. The hotel staff was courteous. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Not to mention quiet and relaxing.

Things were well we didn’t indulge in the amenities. They had some shady looking security / Police officer patrolling the parking lot. But the hotel was good. No problems during my stay.

I checked in at night and the guy was very snobby. When I asked if they serve breakfast his reply was, “it’s not complimentary”. How rude was that. Housekeeping came on the third day and only replenish two face cloths. No bed was made, the bathroom ceiling had water stains and there was a huge spider web in front of the toilet. I would not recommend this Marriott it really needs to be upgraded!

Our room was 77 degrees when we arrived at 9pm. The room smelt like mildew. When I went to the front desk to ask for 2 more towels because I had put 4 adults on the reservation I was told “you will have to wait until tomorrow. That’s for housekeeping” by the front desk representative. It was terrible. The room was how until about 2am. I will not be staying or recommend anyone stay here until these can be resolved.

The property is showing it's age. It's in need of TLC. Cafe was understocked and understaffed. Pool and hot tub were barely usable because the compressor was out so the air was highly chlorinated and painful to your eyes.

This hotel is in a great location. THAT IS IT! … I switched rooms 3 times! First room had writing on the wall in the bathroom and a toilet that screamed when you flushed it. Second room had ants crawling out the heater. Maintenance came to fix it with a can of Raid and sticking paper towels in the vents of the heater. The third room I saw had a bad old mildew smell. Housekeeping advised because the hotel is old it has that smell they can’t get rid of in some rooms. Eventually, my child, and handicapped mother settled on the fourth room after a long day at Sea World, only to find dirty, mildew and mold in the bathroom the next morning. Luckily, we were leaving that day. I left mentally and physically exhausted from all the moving and the condition on the hotel. Definitely my first and last time staying at a Courtyard by Marriott, if this is how their hotels are kept and ran.

Can’t say enough about the staff. Very very friendly, outgoing and helpful. Even though this is an older property, it’s still a Marriott and great stay for the price. We were in town for an Air Force graduation and the proximity to Lackland AFB is amazing and easy to get back and forth. Definitely recommend and would stay here again hands down.

Clean room, friendly staff, free parking, wifi is great, location is great. We enjoyed our stay for our son's BMT graduation. There's restaurants nearby we had lunch at Vallarta it was great food. Overall, it's nice hotel and quiet environment. There's a small pool that we didn't get to use due to busy schedule, there a small gym, water refill, ice maker, laundry room. We enjoyed our 3 nights here.

i like that the property was close to seaworld. the rooms we’re cleaned. .The beds were comfortable. I had a King Suite it was roomy. I loved parking was free and onsite. i did not like that the suites was not handicap accessible so it was hard for me to get my mom on and off the toilet. The side doors was not working. i had to walk around to the front although my room was on the side. Ms Ethel the front desk clerk was nice nasty. she was not helpful at all. Anything you ask of her was a nice no we can’t do that because u book through a third party. She would not even try to accommodate. i asked her could someone light the fire pit outside. it was no in a nice way. i don’t have a lighter. On the other hand when dayshift came in Ms Sonja would try and help with anything you ask. She was a breath of fresh air compared to the evening shift Ms Ethel. We didn’t eat breakfast or dinner because the freezer was broken and please don’t go there thinking you are going to be in a full fledged restaurant because it’s not.

The room was okay however, I found debris in the corner next to the bed. (there was a Cheetos curl on the floor) Some of the front desk staffers were nice. The one staffer was very ill and checked us in not wearing a mask which she should have been wearing while her nose was runny, she was coughing and her voice was corse. Breakfast was pathetic, would have been better going to a McDonalds or Ihop. Example, I asked for a cup of Decaf coffee and was given an 8oz cup with a single shot of espresso in it. I asked the girl behind the counter "what is this" and she told me it's what I ordered, a Decaf coffee. She obviously didn't know the difference between Decaf and Espresso, then she offered to fill the rest of that coffee cup with milk. My sister and I stood there scratching our heads!!! So I would be paying for a cup of warm milk with a splash of espresso when all I wanted was a cup of decaf coffee. If they offer complimentary Reg coffee, why not also offer complementary Decaf? Parking was awesome. Very safe parking lot, lots of lights around.

Pros: location Cons: old and rusted rooms and pool, the bistro run by 2 poor ladies taking entire hotel orders customized to the last ingredient, couldn't eat there.

Pool water was freezing unable to enjoy.

Unfortunately, things escalated when we began experiencing what we believed to be bedbug-related issues. After two nights of itching and discomfort, we made the difficult decision to cut our family trip short and return home early. This was especially upsetting as this was a spring break trip for my daughters, and we missed out on planned activities and experiences in San Antonio. While the hotel did provide a refund, the response from management lacked accountability and empathy for the situation. There was little acknowledgment of the disruption to our trip or the condition concerns we raised. Overall, this experience caused significant inconvenience, loss of time, and added stress to what was supposed to be a memorable family vacation. I would strongly encourage future guests to carefully consider their options before staying at this location.

Ethel checked us in and she was great! The bartender was a great conversationalist and any staff we encountered were so nice! Our rooms were very clean and I loved the layout, it felt roomy. The beds were comfortable and there wasn't a lot if noise from the highway near-by, thankfully.

Staff was incredibly rude. At one point the staff member refused to even look at me or respond when I tried to hand her a credit card. I asked her multiple times excuse me can you hear me? And she just said she wouldn’t reply to me she will only speak to a different member of my party. The evening person working was great (Rebecca I think) but Ethel was incredibly rude: will never stay here again.

Terrible stay, will never stay at this or any other Marriott again. Upon arrival the staff was all huddled in the back and one pointed to me. They were not attentive or helpful. The maintenance guy was probably the most helpful of all as it was hard to navigate where things were…one of 2 elevators was broken. It was so hot in our room we tried adjusting and it did not work my husband went down to let them know and no one came up. At this point we’ve been in this hot room for an hour and a half I have a one year old and a four year old their cheeks were flushed so I went downstairs to tell them, then they sent someone up only to let us know it was broken.

The room was great, the staff was amazing, especially Gilbert at the front desk. He went out of his way to ensure I had a great stay and made me feel very welcome. Give that man a raise! 10/10

A few things weren't good. The bathroom wasn't ckean and had just 2 towels. The mattress was terrible, completely worn-out. There wasn't fresh coffee in the lobby although it said :freshly brewed coffee" in reality it was 100% cold the whole day. The people running the "bistro" didn't know how to prepare or didn’t have the ingredients for things on their menu.

The hotel was good clean and good price however do not order food from hotel. I ordered a tougher parfait, fruit cups, oatmeal, and burritos for breakfast for my family and I. When we received our food that we paid $9 plus for each item had like a teaspoon of yogurt. Burritos were returned as it had one strip of bacon one small line of eggs. Like ridiculous portions. Oatmeal was only filled to 3rd of container with blueberries included. The fruit cups were only filled a 3rd of the way as well. Ridiculous.

Courtyard by Marriott was perfect in every way. My son 10 year old wanted to swim and this place has In door pool and hot tub open pretty late too!! Room was top notch. Staff was very friendly and kind. Well lit parking lot. Plenty of good parking too.

Whole stay there was terrible. I got no rest what so ever. We had no water most of the time I had to shower on their terms. They had a water leak and no one ever knew anything and they said I could not complain to anyone because it was booked as a third party. Horrible horrible situation. Sad that no one really cared. I don’t understand how they would leave us without water. If that was the case they should have let us know and we would have stayed else where. It seemed like we were the only ones there

I wish I could have stayed more nights than I did. It was such a comfortable place to stay. It was so clean. The staff were really good and fun to talk to. Got recommendations for a good Mexican food restaurant nearby. And good and convenient driving distance to SeaWorld. Will definitely stay here next time we're in San Antonio. Nice pool and hot tub.

No shower! Shower didn’t work & bathroom door wouldn’t close and would get stuck once you pushed it in. Loud noise when you had to pull it open or push it closed.

Overall we enjoyed the stay, nice rooms and friendly staff! Mike the bartender is awesome and it was clean! I wished they had a better hotel store because it was a bit limited but I'm sure depending on location decides demand! We went for an airforce graduation so it was a perfect stay for what we needed!

Industrial area behind building. Closed restaurant next door keeps outside a little blah. Stay was adequate for my stay in the area. Just more than I would have liked to have paid.

Got screwed by the staff charging me 3 different authorizations, but they promised to fix it so hopefully it happens.

Overall, I had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Only two things (although minor) that I’d recommend for improvement: include more USB ports and include free continental breakfast. The Bistro was very nice, but the breakfast options were limited and should be complimentary, like many other hotels.
