Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location, particularly for those attending events at the nearby convention center or Alamodome. However, some guests have complained about noise from traffic and trains, as well as occasional issues with odors and maintenance.

The room was clean and stay was comfortable, only small issue was the air con in the room seemed to either be ice cold or barely work, so we just set it cold and used extra blankets, not a huge deal, especially if you like a cold room.

Clean room, tight parking, convenient location , pleasant stay.
- 3/5
The room was clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming, however, the room was very small and lacked amnesties. It did not have a closet to hang clothes. It had a small coffee maker but no cups, sweeteners, nor creamers. The TV remote was broken. The manager replaced it with a new one but could not get it to work. Had to ask for additional towels because only one set was left in the room. Parking was tight and limited but ok. Overall, the hotel is inexpensive and located close to downtown San Antonio, but I think we’ll choose one better for our next trip.

Great location for alamodome.

Air conditioning needs more air power. Not enough air blowing for the entire room. But overall the room was good and great location

Clean and comfortable, walkable to Alamodome

City View Hotel was located very close to the Alamodome - an easy walk there. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We felt very safe walking back to the hotel from the Alamodome late at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful in providing directions to the Riverwalk area. Would definitely recommend this hotel!!

It was conveniently located near the Alamodome where we had attended an event. It was clean and staff was friendly. We arrived in the afternoon and asked if we could park during the day since we could walk to the Alamodome from the property. They said we could but for $25. We decided against that and ended up parking next door for $5 cheaper and it was very convenient to move the car from that lot to the hotel lot. Another thing about parking I didn’t like was how tight a squeeze it was to park. And the last thing I didn’t like was the TV Channels not working. It had the audio but showed a blank screen.

Surprised at the lack of shower soaps, the only thing we had to my knowledge was a second bar of soap (usually used for the sink) and a tiny square packet of shampoo. WiFi is a little sketchy, no password and network is not mentioned anywhere or by anyone at the actual site. Not too many convenient outlets in the room, so I recommend bringing a power strip. Shower curtain rod was loose.

Great stay, staff very pleasant and helpful, great location for the price, so close to downtown river walk, bars and Alamo. Good parking.

Only close to where we were going. As soon as walked in had a smell, room was small, beds were hard and small didn’t look like queen size beds, the sheets felt moist and uncomfortable.

The convenience I would love to see this location as breakfast options and thicker windows. Very noisy.

- 2/5
Its location is very good. However, the property was not maintained well.
- 4.5/5
I liked the area since it was close to so many places so there's a lot of options to do. Also I loved the fact that they have free parking, that helped me out so much and was the deciding factor when choosing where to stay.
- 5/5
Clean rooms, cold Ac, friendly staff, good parking out front, family friendly place. The rooms are a little small but worth the money. We would stay again.
- 4/5
Clean and decent place to stay. Staff is helpful.
- 4/5
The parking was an issue
- 5/5
I’m a clean person and I’ve stayed in some higher bigger places and even those places weren’t as clean as this one. The place was clean.
- 3/5
My big problem was no chair to sit on inside and outside. Laying in bed for 2 days gets old quick with a bad back. Food delivery was good, bus stop nearby and close to the Amtrak Station.
- 5/5
This was a wonderful hotel. If I had to pick one thing to complain about it would be the water pressure in the shower. Though I was able to take a shower, I could see some guest complaining about the strength of the shower heads.
- 4/5
Good location and good for what it costs. Soap was not provided in the bathroom as far as I could see!
- 4/5
Great parking
- 4/5
The location is 10 minutes from the riverwalk. The staff is friendly and the place is clean. Works!
- 5/5
This is a small hotel but very reasonably priced and the staff are terrific. Very close to Amtrak station if you’re taking the train. Will stay there from now on when taking the train.
- 5/5
The front desk representative was friendly and efficient. My room and bathroom were clean.

- 5/5
Convenient and clean. Front desk was super nice and helpful
- 3/5
You pay for what you get. Cheap and does the trick.
- 5/5
Small parking lot. Very basic hotel no breakfast. Nwalking distance to saint paul square, alamodome, rock box and vibes venues. Front desk manager was nice helpful. Bare bones hotel in a good way clean and convenient. Perfect for my party concert nights.
- 5/5
I was at an event at the Alamodome and walked everywhere—I didn’t have to move the car at all. The location is perfect.
- 5/5
Great Hotel Close to Alamodome and Downtown
- 5/5
Hear traffic on highway side/street but felt it was a great value without parking fee like others in the area. Friendly and comfortable!
- 4/5
We went to an event at the Alamodome and the hotel was close enough so we could walk, which was really nice. We parked our car at the hotel and didn’t worry about extra parking at the Alamodome. It was clean and the staff were super nice and helpful. Just a few weird things like…there was a cabinet where a fridge would usually go, but the knob was taken off and you couldn’t get in there. And the shampoo was in a package. That was fine - we were only there one night and didn’t need to wash our hair. But his little things like that, which made me not give 5 stars. Liked our stay overall and we felt safe and staff were great.
- 5/5
The stay was great only thing was no snack machine, and didn’t serve breakfast but everything else was good
- 4/5
Walking distance from the train station.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Nice and clean room!
- 4/5
Room was clean, comfortable. The hotel is a few blocks east of downtown, it was a bit of a walk.
- 5/5
Very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
This place was the perfect place to stay for nice quiet and peaceful night in the heart of crazy San Antonio. The room was clean and smelled good. High ceilings. Felt like I was staying in a mansion kind of lol
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and polite. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I really liked the fact that it was small hotel and that it was very quiet. Nothing fancy, it’s perfect if you just need a place to sleep.

- 5/5
Nice, clean, quiet hotel
- 4/5
Clean room, friendly staff, well lit parking lot. Great place to stay if walking to/from the Alamodome!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff! They made sure that we were well taken care of and that we had the parking we were promised (which is difficult to come by this close to the Alamodome). The room and restroom is always clean. We return every year and will be back next November.
- 3/5
This is a very basic hotel. The owners are very sweet but the property looks tired. With a little effort the place could look so much better. My bed did not have a top sheet so I had to sleep under a scratchy blanket. The lobby is tiny with no place to sit and relax. It just looks incomplete. There are no amenities in the room. One envelope of a shampoo/conditioner, one for 2 people and a tiny bar of soap. Again, with a little thought I think a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of conditioner and a bottle of body wash, hand wash would project caring.
- 5/5
The gentleman that checked us in was very knowledgeable and very friendly
- 5/5
Great stay! Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Great location for a concert at the Alamodome. It’s very noisy with trains going by. The front desk manager was very nice. He did charge us $20 for an early check in, but he was nice about it.
- 5/5
Everything was great. Trains nearby a little noisy but earplugs did the trick
- 5/5
Nice room. Awesome
- 5/5
This is a very nice place to stay right next to Amtrak Station.
- 5/5
Clean, EXCEPTIONAL STAFF!!! Room was everything it promised to be!! I loved it!
- 5/5
Manager or owner very kind.
- 5/5
It is super close to the Alamodome. The owner are very kind and accommodating.
- 5/5
Front desk was very knowledgeable & friendly. Helped me with everything I needed! I would definitely stay there again! They provided me with a room that suited my needs! Bed very comportable, bathroom accessible w/walkin shower & bars everywhere!
- 5/5
Nice size with a jacuzzi, free parking, close to all attractions
- 5/5
The owner of the property is very nice. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Location was very easy to get to. The Riverwalk was a short distance away. Very budget friendly. Owner was nice enough to put us on the top floor so we could see downtown. This was done with the kindness of his heart. He did this I didn't ask . He open the door up for my wife in lobby why I struggle to find my key.
- 5/5
Super clean hotel. Happy with the price and parking was included. The manager was extremely respectful and overall pleased with our stay. Slightly off the river walk but less then 10 minute walk to the action. Plenty of scooter options around
- 5/5
Close to water walk, clean, warmly service.
- 4/5
I choose this property because of it's close proximity to the Alamodome, which is only a five minute walk. It's an older building, but it is very clean and tidy. The owners are also very kind and friendly. I would stay here again when I come to town for an event!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly, attentive, and eager to assist.
- 4/5
Nice, convenient property for events at the Alamodome. The area is a bit noisy though. Trains run a block away.
- 5/5
Conveniently located near the river walk and not expensive.
- 5/5
The property was really nice and clean and all rooms had view of downtown. My only issue had nothing to do with property itself. It was just a little further away from the places i usually walk to when i visit san antonio.
- 4/5
Decent stay. Very helpful and respectful concierge
- 5/5
Great stay, clean and convenient!
- 5/5
Everything was good. Room was clean. The only thing that happened. Was that we had issues with her key.
- 2/5
It was inexpensive, but for the money I paid I usually can get a King suite at the Holiday Inn and Suites. This was a room it did not have a closet, a table or chair. The towels were something a child could dry off with, several of the floor tiles were cracked in the bathroom and the corner wall strip (metal) in the bathroom was coming from the wall. The coffee in the room was only decaf, when I asked for regular the clerk stated that he was new and that was all they had. I probably would not stay there again.
- 5/5
Staff member at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating. He was very busy but took the time to answer our questions. Also the property is within walking distance to Amtrak station, the convention center, the Downtown Riverwalk and the Alamodome. The room was clean and quiet.
- 4/5
In a overall way our stay was very good, but the only thing that, sadly I have to say something & share as "Constructive Feedback" is about a White PVC Tube that was leaking over our Shower, all our Stay the Tube had been leaking cold liquid that we thought that was from a A/C Equipment but we didn't know if that was from ours or from the side Room. That was the only thing that I didn't like & for that reason I can't give the Excellent Rate. Just for reference our Room was the 208.
- 4/5
Good for the price
- 4/5
Clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Got what we expected; we read the reviews
- 5/5
Excellent management, good rooms
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly, room was clean and quiet.
- 3/5
The hotel is in a decent area but the outside stair access doors didn’t work when using your room key & we had to use the elevator in the main lobby. This was inconvenient and the elevator was not in the best shape…
- 3/5
Clean place, didnt have a smell. Just needs security, good for a.quick get away or just to sleep and leave. Or meet up with a friends type place to play uno
- 4/5
Short and convenient ride from the Amtrak train station
- 5/5
Very warm welcome

Right near the street so very noisy Close to the stadium walkable
- 3/5
Good location at a reasonable price for those attending events at the Alamodome. A small basic hotel with small clean rooms and reasonably comfortable beds. No luxury details expected and obviously doesn't include breakfast. A lot of street noise.
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
A clean updated room, clean bathroom. Soaps and shampoo were minimal at best, but I travel with my own. Mattresses are firm, cooling worked great. Owners were very nice, as was the staff. A great value! I will stay here again.
- 4/5
Train noise and some noise from other rooms..Other than that, rest good.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to dining and conveniently located.
