Best Western Plus Roland Inn & Suites

I booked this hotel on accident because I dropped my phone while looking at the final amount that would be due. When I tried to cancel and let them know what happened, they refused to refund my money for a room I never got to stay in. During times like this when people are financially struggling, keeping that amount from a single mom is bad business.

Breakfast was amazing . The cost was affordable. Location of room was amazing . I didn’t like the shower how it got water everywhere. It was very slippery maybe could use a large mat so it’s not too slippery. I asked for more sheets and blankets didn’t get them.

As soon as you walk in the front doors it smells so clean and the carpet they do have doesn’t smell or look dingy and the rooms are a good size the queen beds are really comfortable and the staff is quiet and are polite the room kept us nice and cold which felt amazing with this hot Texas weather and the breakfast was a nice option . We will book a room here again for our next trip !

The sheets had stains and the waffles tasted sour

The property was well maintained and seemed fairly new. The room was very nice and clean, although the glass shower door was missing a handle, it was still manageable. Even though it was very easy on and easy off the fwy, the area was not very desirable. Directly next door to the hotel was a Whataburger and I didn’t feel safe sitting inside eating and I’m a retired police officer. The hotel property itself was very good and well lit, so I felt safe leaving my truck in the parking lot.

The electric car charge in the hotel did not work. I booked this hotdl for that very purpose. The car charger did not work

The staff was very friendly, however even though the general cleanliness was good, the detail cleaning in the rooms was not all that great.

Everything near especially downtown and very quiet area. Breakfast they closed by 9 and it doesn’t give u enough time I noticed that a lot of people were not happy of that.

The hotel was great and hit all of the boxes needed for our small family trip. The breakfast was our favorite part. The gym had plenty of options. The hotel is a bit on the older side but it’s renovated. Overall it was amazing for the budget.

The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the check-in process was quick and easy. The location was convenient, and breakfast was a nice bonus. I didn't have any issues during my stay. Everything met my expectations.

Upstairs neighbors kept us up till 3am. When checking in we didn’t get to check in till after 3 because the property wasn’t ready for guest. It was closer to 4 which hit ideal after traveling.

A C was cold no problem with that. Staff was polite and helpful. Room was clean. T V system sucks though. Got to go through a lot of effort to watch what you want. You just don’t turn it on and flip through the channels.

How clean the room/bathroom was, it was all organized. I also liked that I could control the AC in my own room. We had to advise the front desk, 3 times that our key cards were not working for the original room we were assigned. Each time we had to make the trip down to the lobby, and get our cards "reactivated", on the 3rd time the host finally came up with my sister to physically confirm the cards were not working. It was hectic to say the least, as we were traveling with a 2 year old that was fussy.

Clean room, pretty okay breakfast nothing fancy though, serene environment, and not far from downtown if that's in your plan.

Location was great for going to a concert at Frost Center!

The staff was very nice and helpful and anticipating our needs. Breakfast was decent, air conditioning was perfect and not noisy at all, the room can be cleaner (carpet), but overall a great experience.

We had a nice stay. We had a situation with our door key and the front desk guy was very nice and helpful. No complains.

Ana Alemán from Best Western notified Expedia that they could not accommodate my stay, so Expedia contacted me that Best Western had reached out that they could not honor my booking so Expedia helped me find a different hotel. However Best Western ended up charging me for the room due to no show. Expedia tried to work with them on getting me a refund and they kept denying and said they charged me due to policy and no show. I was very disappointed. I will continue to fight this refund. I would have stayed at the Best Western if it wasn't for them calling that they couldn't honor my booking.

Room was dirty and shower floor had no grading so water got everywhere.

The only good thing was the parking lot. No hot water, Bed sheets were stained.

They tried to give us a room that didn’t close or lock. The maintenance guy forgot to record that they were fixing the door.

The hotel was short staffed which caused there to be no cleaning of our room on our 4 day/3 night stay. Very good breakfast but with their being limited staff for such a big hotel it caused there to be a lot of shortages in food. I’m not a high maintenance person and appreciated the competitive prices but if your someone that can’t do with short comings you may stay somewhere else.

We had a very positive experience at this hotel. Although the weather was not ideal, the staff’s willingness to accommodate an early check-in made a significant difference. The hotel was clean, well-kept, and provided a comfortable environment. Overall, it was a great stay, and we appreciate the level of service provided.

We had a great stay! We were in town for a concert we were going to. The room was nice, the bed was perfect and the ac kept us all cool during the day and night. We enjoyed the breakfast and the front desk hospitality very much. We were able to enjoy a swim before we headed home which was a great treat for the grandkids.

It was quiet. Good location to get around San Antonio. Sheets on the bed seemed to not had been washed. Toilet had fecal stains on the outside of bowl toilet paper only one used roll.

The room was very clean and sooo confortable!! We loved the location as we were a short drive to all main attractions but far enough from traffic and loudness of city. Staff were the absolute sweetest, so friendly and accommodating!! If ever back in area be my go to hotel.

Chambre correcte, seule point négatif est la propreté des draps. Ils faisaient lavés mais ils étaient bien tâchés. On s’en est rendu tard et donc on m’a pas demandé à changer de chambre. La personne à l’accueil était très gentille. Petit déjeuner sans plus. Il manque souvent des fruits je trouve.

Breakfast was ok, waffles were good, eggs smelled like fish. The room and air conditioning were perfect. The registration desk was usually unattended.Muliple times I had to wait more than 5 minutes for someone to step out from the back. The room was missing hand soap, batteries for the remote, and cups I noticed other customers asking for toilet paper and other items that were missing from their rooms

The only thing I did not like was the shower. There was no pressure and you are able to change the head it was like a 4 in 1 but that didn’t help. The temperature was not hot. I need a hot shower! That is probably the only thing ohh n when I asked for more towels because I had 2 teenage girls plus me that needed at least 2 towels each the front desk lady took forever and when she gave me them she asked there wasn’t any towels in there? I said yes but we need more! I don’t understand y yall say 4 people can be in a room but only put 2 towels that’s so fustrating and then yall don’t service until we leave so explain how we suppose yo use tge 2 towels for the weekend?

The location was close to the even which was the reason for choosing the place. The location was good, away from the highway and train station. However, I was not impressed by the service. I asked the front office to change my towels twice in the morning before we left to the event. However, the towels were NOT changed upon return; I had to go down to pick up new towels. They gave me new towels as if it was norm. The morning breakfast menu was the same for two days in a row, variety was poor: extremely salty ham, scrambled eggs that finished and we had to wait for, stale cupcakes. I liked the 2 pancake makers with the Texas state shape that worked decent. Thank you.

The side door stays open in order for it to close behind you it has to be pulled in hard and no one does that so it stays open, the room needed to be wiped down, i had to get clorox wipes at DG and wipe them. Its a bit filthy carpets dont seem vaccummed, depending on the staff the breakfast is good, the location is near a rundown side of town, lots of labor workers staying for work in the area. It was safe place and it had great breakfast and coffee. The water pressure in the shower is weak and takes a long time to heat up.

BEWARE! The guy at the front desk who claimed to be the manager motioned as if he were reaching for a firearm when my husband went to talk to him about how dirty the rooms were. Worst experience we’ve had traveling. We booked two rooms both of which where dirty. The carpets and the bathrooms were disgusting. There was all types of hair all over and the toilets in both rooms had pee stains. I brought this to the attention of the front desk right away and the manager was very condescending in tone and even bothered by the fact we were asking them to clean what should have been clean already. Something was off from the moment we started checking in. We left immediately. Didn’t stick around to find out.

Sheets was dirty, as if they were not changed, the pillows had stains on it as well. As well the pullout couch was not comfy at all, the mattress seemed very old and when i opened the pullout couch the old sheets from the previous stay before us was still there. very disappointed

The hotel is brand new and offers fantastic value for the money. The modern feel is a huge plus! However, I did notice that the room maintenance and cleaning could use a bit more attention to detail. With a few improvements in housekeeping, this would easily be a 5-star stay.

We returned around midnight after a concert and were unable to access our room due to a lock malfunction. Neither our key nor the master key worked. We waited outside our room for about 40 minutes, and were not informed until around 1:30 a.m. that the door could not be opened at all. During that time, my child’s life-saving medication was locked inside the room, along with all of our belongings and food. As a parent, that was extremely stressful. We were eventually placed in another room after 1:30 a.m., had to sleep in our clothes, and purchase additional food since ours was inaccessible. After getting very little rest, we were then woken up at 8:30 a.m. and told to retrieve our belongings. The manager was unavailable the entire time and never followed up—not that night, not the next morning, and not even after the incident. While I did eventually receive a refund a week later, there was no communication, no apology, and no acknowledgment of the seriousness of what happened. This was not just an inconvenience. It was a safety issue, and as a single parent managing this situation alone, it should have been handled with far more urgency and care. I hope the hotel takes steps to improve both their emergency response and how they communicate with guests when something goes wrong.

Terrible stay, we got there late at night and our rooms were not cleaned from the previous guests, beds unmade, bathroom dirty, room was a mess.. it took them more than 1 hour to get us a new clean room.
