Super 8 by Wyndham McKinney/Plano Area

We have stayed at this modest and small hotel for all our stays in McKinney. The location and the price worked good for us. This last time, on 08/08/2026, was our last time. Staff is been never personal nor friendly. We came with our 8yr old granddaughter and requested a King size bed, we got a double bed for the 3 of us. The pillows smelled like previous and old sweat . The bathrooms, never have Kleenex tissues and this time it smelled. The description of: Including Breakfast consist on almost a bare counter with some cereal and coffee and not enough staff to clean after patrons , which consist in its majority of traveler workers . will look around for another place to stay on our next trip

Staff was friendly, and helpful. The parking is very accessible. The pool well maintained. Clean room with good Athe price at this hotel is very affordable and in the middle of restaurants, banks and all kind of different shops 😀

Nothing. The location was the only good thing. The hotel was old and outdated and seemed dirty. Breakfast was horrible. It was 10 slices of white bread and some cream cheese. Coffee was cold. Worst breakfast I have ever experienced. WE went to eat at a restaurant. Spent $50 between the 3 of us so the breakfast was NOT a value. I do NOT recommend this hotel at all!!! And the current reviews for the breakfast of 6.7 is fake and probably written by the owners. Very disappointed. My friends will never let me live this down. YUK! They charged us extra for checking in early. and the rooms were not in a good spot on the 1st floor.

It’s okay People hanging around the facility

This place is a older hotel and seemed to be used by locals. It's a 3 star hotel for sure. I stayed here with 3 teenage baseball players, I was on a strict budget and this hotel gave me everything I needed from a 3 star budget stay. We stayed 3 nights and honestly I had no complaints. My loud a$$ kids were not complained about, stayed safe and healthy. The hotel staff were extremely helpful to me, helped and were patient with my teenagers. Asian buffet was next door and is good to fill my kids for the day. and the location of this hotel is perfect if your playing at the z complex or wanting something in the middle of shopping. A guest did find a water bug in their room so there is that, but our room had no bugs. Some people may feel unsafe at night there and I might understand that, but my kids and myself did not feel threatened. Room 326 shower handle was installed upside down, flip the cartridge and the handle will sit properly. This is my honest review. I needed a cheap hotel for 3 nights and this place fit my accomodations. I was happy.

This was, without question, the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The room was filthy, and I even encountered bedbugs, which made the stay completely unacceptable. The hallways constantly smelled like marijuana, creating an unpleasant environment, and the lighting throughout the property was dim and poorly maintained. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was an extremely disappointing experience, and I will never stay here again.

Didn’t love the 3 inch cockroach crawling on my bed. Thankfully I had just turned on the light so I saw it before it crawled on my. This place is disgustingl, for the scourge of the earth. It reeks of weed and mold and is an absolute crap hole.

Close to restaurants The water faucet in the bathroom for the tub is loose and falls off.. The previous tenant left stuff behind so it looked like the room needed to be cleaned for the next tenant.

The general layout of the room was fine and the bathroom was decent. The refrigerator door was cracked on the inside at the bottom. One of the bedside lamps didn't work, nor did the provided USB plugs, as they were cracked. The other lamp shade was split on one corner.

The room was clean. There was a weird smell and as I went to my room there is a woman coming down the hallway, smoking a cigarette, The breakfast was cereal, toast, and waffles it is badly in need of updating

When you walked in, they had a no smoking sign out but the place smell just like weed as soon as you walk in to check in. The pool is small and dirty. They have weird people walking around the window screen was broken off our window and the water pressure in the shower was terrible.

We actually checked out early and requested a refund. This hotel was very dirty and the other guests in the hotel were quite loud and frankly frightening. I did not feel safe here. Also, we went down for breakfast, and they were out of mostly everything and it was dirty. We have stayed at the Super 8 several times and always felt the price matched the stay, but this time, it was a NO for us. I think the cops were even called to our floor during our one night there.

Place is very dirty, and some really sketchy people hanging around. This is the kind of place that is more of a lower income apartment building. I will not be staying here again.

Room was not so clean

The place looks like a homeless place, and the smell of mariguana and people smoking it in the rooms! Very dangerous. But we just needed to sleep, it was a bit scary

It was clean despite being a little dated I pre registered uploading my drivers license and vehicle information for speedy check in as requested by the property only to have to provide the same information again upon checking in. Was I scammed into sharing my DL online ???why send an email asking to pre register if it wasn’t being utilized

Toilet clean but no handheld shower. Location near downtown. Lobby area needs improvement with furniture. Breakfast area not well kept. Counter dirty. Table left dirty after every use. No one comes to clean. Room too dark. Carpet worn out. Why is big painting used as a headboard. It is very annoying and uncomfortable to lean again a large painting as the headboard.

The whole place was a mess to be associated with him. I was amazed that it was such a dump when I talked to Expedia they assured me they had a pool, etc. we get there. There’s no water in the pool. It was just an all-around poor experience I won’t ever stay at a super eight again

The TV didn't work and they refused to give us the wifi password even though there were no rooms available with a working TV. The man at the desk was extremely rude. The bed skirts had mold on them and the breakfast was terrible. They were out of everything but the waffle maker that there was a line for. Worst experience ever!! Will never be returning and will let others know how awful this place is

Plain no amenities just ac bed breakfast a joke

They asked for unnecessary stuff and checking in, and the curtains had rips on them. The bed had stains, and the sheets felt sticky.

I saw dead cockroaches, a random dirty sock in the hallway, stains all over the carpet, the carpet felt sticky in places... Shower barely got hot even at full heat. Will not be going back here.

The sounds from the adjacent roads were maddening and made sleep impossible. Additionally there was a car wash operating ten feet from other room's window. And I'm not even going to waste time trying to explain the horrible smell in the rooms. We were operating on 2 hours sleep in 24 hours and still could not sleep due to the noises. When we asked the front desk if we could please be moved to a different room the manager said "No" the cleaning staff is gone for the day and we're fully booked there's no where to move you to. Then I said then just check us out and cancel the other days. The manager said you can check out but there will be no refund because you are prepaid. I said fine we just want to leave. He then proceeded show us three different rooms that he eventually moved us to. We still checked out the next morning for a different hotel. Staff was helpful. Check-in was easy. Room was clean and about what is expected for the price. No coffee in the room but all day at breakfast. Convenient location

There were hairs everywhere in the bedroom. The shower handle didn’t work so there was no pressure and barely any hot water. The smoke alarm started chirping around 4 in the morning, battery was dead. When I went to the front desk and the night manager’s solution was to have me switch rooms instead of changing the battery. In the next room the TV didn’t work. On top of that the elevator sounded like it was about to break down.

When I turned on the water in the shower, water didn’t come out the showerhead. The smoke detector beat. There were no vending machines. And you could smell weed in the hallway.

Had to wait to check in, I arrived shortly after 3pm and was told I had to wait as something with the room. Im not sure what. About a 15-20 minute wait and no customers served while I waited.

Breakfast was very limited, with only waffles, cereal, toast coffee and juice, only 3 tables and six chairs. There was an event in the area and the hotel was full, many guests left without eating breakfast, due to the long line at the waffle maker. Parking was ok well lighted and felt safe. My son and I woke up with bites in our body.

Poor breakfast. One waffel maker for several people and waffel and children's cereal only for breakfast. The water pressure is poor and not good for showers or baths. Good thing about the hotel: clean rooms.

This facility was very run down and almost felt unsafe. We had to leave a day early to get another hotel even though we lost the money. I did not feel safe- our hotel door was damaged and I was unsure of our safety. We stayed in room 320.

The location The only good thing was the location of the hotel, we paid for 2 nights and ended up finding somewhere else to stay the 2nd night because we didnt want to stay any longer. It looks very dirty and unkempt. The shower curtain was ripped, the included appliances didn't work very well including the mini fridge. The bathroom sink pooled brown water when not being used. The bed were extremely firm and we were honestly worried about bed bugs because of how the rest of the building looked but thankfully didn't find any evidence of them during out stay. The staff was nice enough, only one of them helped us get an iron and ironing board the 2nd time we asked but those were in very rough shape. The iron board wouldn't even stand up. We had to iron our clothes with the board on the ground. Absolutely will not be staying here ever again and absolutely don't recommend for anyone unless you need the cheapest hotel you can find

This hotel was horrendous. There was someone in the parking lot directly in front of the check-in office smoking crack. There were roaches in the bathroom and a spider in one of the beds. The vent was hanging off in the bathroom, which is probably where all the bugs were coming from. The carpet smelled old and moldy and our room smelled like sweat. 2 of the lamps did not work, along with the charging outlets. When I called front desk to request a different room, the man said he was completely sold out and literally hung up on me. I ended up leaving 10 min later and cancelling my reservation. I have been charged for both nights, even though I canceled online and in person. I did not stay there at all. The manager has not returned my calls or responded to any of my messages.

Hair dryer was broken plug was cracked so wouldn't work . Shower curtain rod was pulling out of the wall . Ac was very loud and clanking. Wife asked for spare hair dryer and they didn't have one . We had this same room 13 months ago with the same issues room 207

Very limited breakfast

Staff was attentive and kind. Room was unavailable, even after reserving almost a week in advance. That was fixed by an upgrade. The upgrade room didn't have a working fridge/freezer. The new room had stains on the roof and something sticky on the floor that was smeared, as well as the bed cover. So cleanliness wasn't a strong suit. Also, in 3 days, not once did house keeping stop by.

Very dirty I have pictures, with bed bugs. I checked out early because it was not livable conditions and they would not give me a refund for nights I did not even stay there.

My room had a burn mark on the counter, the fan vent was falling off, the lights flickered in the bathroom when turning off, and I think there was mold growing in the air conditioner. The highway made the room super loud on top of the noise coming from inside the hotel.

There were not really an options and the wait for a waffle was 10 minutes

My Hotel stay / experience was wonderful . The check- in process was smooth and quickly . PJ , was very kind and was happy to answer any questions I had . The over all stay was amazing!!!!!!!! My hotel stay was Incredible. All the staff was friendly and welcoming . No complaints at all ?

Clean room

I would not go to this place. I travel all over and have had stayed at places that are listed good with generally good outcomes. This was on the verge of condemned and we were so tired from travel or we would have left.

It was ok we only had waffles and cereal, no meat and fruits was old. I was there for five days and my room was not cleaned. i had to keep going to desk for towels. there was dead bugs in the room. also fire alarm went off at 1030 pm and no instructions was giving when we came to front. This was not acceptable.

Had to ask clerk to fix sliding window as it was broke off the track and questioned if safely locked. Liked laminate floor for cleaniness. It was ok but wouldn’t go back again.

They Welcomed our pet with no issues. The parking lot was dirty and a lot of sketchy people hanging around there at night. I worried about leaving my car over night hoping no one would break in to it. The hotel could do a better job at cleaning inside the rooms. Our room had left over gold fish crackers at the head of the bed on the floor. the lights in the room bareley worked. We had issues with the entry door locking and not allowing us into the room the door this happened several times we had to ask the front office to allow us in the room. There really wasn't any kind of breakfast and that area was always dirty and not cleaned. The elevator was dirty and had a piece of cearl in there from the time we arrived to check in until the time was checked out. the floor was was on smelled light cigerette smoke which there was not supposed to be any smoking in the hotel. staff was very friendly. The chair that was in our room we never sat in as it was dirty. We worried about bed bugs this is how the hotel looked we stripped the bed to make sure there was no bedbugs and made sure we didn't carry any home with us. I will not return to the hotel because of the look and how dirty it was.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was great, it was quiet, and the heater worked. I would stay there again. There's a great Asian buffet right next-door.

It is just okay. But not impressed with bathroom. The floor got wet after I used sink. Got my small suitcase which I put under sink and it got soak. I don’t know if it is plumbing issue. Other than that. Room is satisfactory, customer service also is satisfactory, and breakfast service- we don’t use it. Super 8 is pet friendly however taking dogs to yard for their business has limit area to used and in high traffic area ( interstate and businesses area).

Great people and easy to work with!

Shampoo and Conditioner looked like it had been used. We didn't need any. There is no iron or ironing board in the room. I'm old schooled. On last night I did ask at desk and you have to ask for an iron.

I saw a few rooms they were Clean, the bathrooms were as well.

The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest the hair dryer didn’t work and it looks like not all the towels were clean the hotel itself is is run down and the inside of the hotel was definitely hot it seems like maybe the AC was off. The room itself did have ac and kept it cold. This hotel definitely needs to be worked on it seems like the staff doesn’t care to keep the hotel maintained. The price of the rooms a night here should MOST definitely be cheaper. Anything over 60 a night is crazy

Room smells weird, staff is hit or miss depending on who you run into that day, parking seems to be convenient but I don’t drive, this area really isn’t walkable but nowhere around these parts really are, the AC works, but the lightbulbs were out and I immediately notified the staff but they fixed all but one … said they would return next day to replace but never came back. All in all, I would give it a 3/5 and would suggest that they give the carpets a good deep cleaning & some of the lamps (and staff) replaced.

This room had recently been remodeled. There was a fine layer of construction dust on the black doors (an attempt had been made to wipe them, but it was a poor attempt) as well as the towel bars, toilet paper holder and other surfaces. The carpet appeared very old. They also provided three towels for a room that should be able to hold 4 people. There is no breakfast, instead you are able to ask for a Hostess donette package or a Hostess cupcake.

This place was the definition of “okay”. It’s not bad but it’s not great, literally just okay. The room was a more updated room with a very clean tub. The room was fairly clean overall. Had issues with the tv remote but that was minor. The staff was just okay they were informative and that’s pretty much it. My biggest issue was there was essentially no breakfast which is stated to be complimentary under their amenities. They had a juice machine with 2 juices which weren’t very good. The waffle maker was broken. The only other options they had were rice krispy treats and mini powered gas station donuts at the front desk that you had to ask for to get one.. 😒 but hey the room was 56 bucks so you get what you pay for.

Your “Free breakfast“ is coffee or juice, and your choice of a Twinkie, Ho Ho or Ding Dong. The mattress was terrible. However, no sign of bedbugs in our room…

I stayed 7 nights and they only scheduled 2 cleanings. The room never felt clean. I booked this because of Wyndham. There was no evidence of the Wyndham brand. Everything was very mediocre. The photos online are very misleading.

Broken safe. No coat hangers. Broken blow dryer. The free breakfast was Hostess cupcakes, twinkies and you had to ask for them at the service desk. Waffle maker broken. Breakfast area was dusty. Needed cleaning. To get clean towels, you had to take your dirty ones to customer service and exchange them.

Staff was indifferent. Extremely limited breakfast. Essently only coffee. Small room . No hand cream.

Room smelled moldy. The temperature did not stay cold. For an ADA room, it was incredibly small and the shower wand did not work. The bed was too stiff and the pillows were for children.

Breakfast options are Twinkie, Ding-Dong or ho ho. Stayed two nights and couldn’t get clean towels. Pool wasn’t clean. Not enough light.

Literally the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms were dirty, the bedding had holes in them, the “white” curtains were brown and stained. The rooms smelled horrible. Definitely didn’t feel safe even walking out to my car. If I didn’t want to waste the money, we would have went elsewhere.

Cons: bed was stiff, a/c made a winding noise, pillows was small like 1’x1’, said they offered breakfast but there was none. For a cheap hotel and only one night it was ok

Half the electrical sockets didn't work. The light around the powered mirror did not work. Dried snot on the bathroom walls.

Lighting in bathroom poor and old. Television stations not very good, said that they had breakfast but did not. You could get a package of donuts at the front office. Bed was very comfortable. Will not stay there again.
