Reviews
Guests generally enjoy the hotel's comfortable and clean rooms, great view, and convenient location surrounded by restaurants and entertainment. However, some guests have expressed disappointment with the lack of partial ocean view rooms and issues with room service. Additionally, while the hotel's lively atmosphere is appreciated by some, others find it noisy and disruptive.

Great Location with easy access to amenities, dinning, entertainment.

If our part of the family or a couple that wanted to spend the day at the boardwalk and ride the rise, it would’ve been fabulous. However, is a soul low senior it was not what I would come back to the property itself and the staff were excellent and they upgraded me to the executive suites and the king-size bed was very comfortable, but the views were not great. That wasn’t their problem though. That was just my preference.
- 5/5
Better instructions to help get to parking garage ands where to go from parking garage works be helpful.
- 5/5
Great place for families and entertainment
- 5/5
Clean, nice smell and was as advertised! No complains
- 5/5
We had a great stay. Lots of activities and great food all within walking distance. We will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Close to the boardwalk Room was right across from construction
- 5/5
It was amazing from check in to check out
- 4/5
Other than that it was an excellent experience that I would recommend with explaining the shortfalls listed above
- 5/5
The balcony was a big small but the room was cold anger bed was excellent.
- 4.5/5
I expected a restaurant for breakfast instead of a snack bar. The prices were expensive.

Very clean and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Loved the way the Hotel smells when you walk in and definitely love how cool the rooms were I had two rooms.
- 2.5/5
There was an odor in the hotel we Could smell it as soon as We Walked in! Construction outside in front of our room we were woke up around 6;45 with construction noise. I have always wanted to stay at this hotel big disappointment .
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Clean, well maintained grounds and helpful employees. We've stayed here on several occasions and have never been disappointed.

The room was large enough and clean. We asked for a balcony with an ocean view. The balcony was very small and they were doing construction work just opposite our view. Also, it was suppose to be no pets, but there was a dog barking constantly and loudly nextdoor. I told the desk and she said it was a support dog which they allow. She said she would call the people and let them know. The dog did stop barking later that day. When we went to sit on the balcony and watch the construction, the man below us was smoking (this is suppose to be a non smoking facility), and he was talking loudly. We had to go back inside our room. We had to ask for washcloths and kleenex and the toilet paper holder was broken.
- 2/5
Honestly I had high hopes, as my husband and I had a weekend getaway here. Our room had a view of the construction site across the walkway. It was very dusty. You can’t sit out on the balcony very long because when the ac system comes on the balcony feels like an oven. The little fridge wasn’t cooling. The TV had 10 working channels. I usually love a water view room but this time I was a little let down.
- 4/5
If you want a more quiet room do not select the balcony above the shopping
- 5/5
Location, architecture, clean Not having free breakfast
- 4/5
The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean and smelled good. It was quiet Should have more items in the room such as cotton ball’s, qtips soap.. the bed was hard. Not enough channels on tv. Restaurants close too early and the shops. Shops over priced and did not like cashless shops.
- 5/5
The property was well kept and the rooms were comfortable. The access to the attractions and restaurants was convenient and we did not have to drive all weekend. There was a leak in the room above us and the staff was proactive and reached out to us to see if they could enter the room and were expeditious in getting us in another room
- 5/5
Hotel was lovely, easy to park but the restaurant/shopping selection around area has been reduced from years past. Also, a lot of construction going on just outside patio doors.
- 5/5
Who goes to Galveston the last weekend of July for fun? Yes, we did! Booked 4 days, 3 nights at the Kemah Boardwalk Inn, and was honestly impressed. Super clean, well managed, lots of charm! Our balcony was right on the Plaza, and it made for great people watching. Concerts every Thursday and Friday, and it was really good. The elevator did have a failure, but the staff made sure to alert guests to a very solid work around. All in all? I'd go again! Plenty of free parking, lots of things within walking distance, try out Skinny Rita's happy hour, ermagherd!!!
- 5/5
Parking very easy, staff are friendly, hotel, room and bathrooms clean. Can walk to restaurants and many choices Will stay there again
- 3.5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. Good access to the boardwalk. The hotel could use some touching up. Paint, carpet, bathrooms. It was clean it just seemed to be worn.
- 3/5
Loved the location, and how it smelled clean We stayed 2 nights in plaza suite, we had to take showers in our kids restroom due to our shower leaking cold water from the light. Felt unsafe was scared the ceiling might fall on us. The water takes awhile to heat up give it about 10 minutes or so. Wall paper is peeling needs some tlc. We didn't want to be a bother so we stayed in the room we were at, plus it would have been a inconvenience moving all our luggage to another room with the kids. Ac at night dose not work well in suite. Gets hot. We were there for my daughter's birthday, wanted to make the most of it. Wished it was better for what we paid.

The property was beautiful was kept up nicely and it was in the perfect location. The staff was sweet really had an enjoyable time I would encourage anyone and everyone to stay at Boardwalk inn.
- 3/5
Your front desk staff was rude. We checked in at around 1145pm. I was asking questions in regards to parking and also help with the luggage. not to help carry but better alternative to using stairs. since the elevator was not working. she was on her personal phone with her air pods and was not helpful and rude. I am not hadicap per say but i do have a very hard time walking upstairs, i was left to figuere it out my self until the security help me. Had i of know that there was not going to be an elevator to use i would not booked with your hotel. our first experience and we encounted all of this.

Location Make it more cost effective
- 5/5
We stay here often. The hotel is always immaculate. We enjoy the boardwalk and listening to the bands on the weekends. Easy in and out of the parking garage and your car is safe and covered.
- 5/5
We liked being located in the middle of everything. Property was nice only thing not good was the bathtub. Looked like it had been refurbished in a very patchy manner. Other than that we loved the room. Lot of good restaurants in walking distance. We will be going back in the fall when it’s not so hot and humid.
- 5/5
Clean and good place
- 3/5
The staff is top shelf. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean and linens were fresh. Parking is very convenient . The room on the other hand was not as expected for the cost. Busted tiles in the restroom. Peeling porcelain on the tub. Continues water drip from shower. Shower curtains instead of doors. Ice maker at our end of the building was not working. Hotel is nice but definitely out dated.
- 5/5
We enjoyed being able to walk around and when it got hot loved being close to the room to cool off. Beds were comfortable as well.
- 4/5
We had a great time

You guys should put in a snack machine. Late night chips or candy would be perfect!!!
- 5/5
The room was in an excellent location, nice cean, cold, and the staff went a nice AMC beyond to accommodate us. I can't wait to go back.
- 5/5
Loved it. Easy access to the boardwalk and the marina
- 5/5
Older place, but very clean. It’s super humid during summer months so expect that. Great view of the boardwalk. Restaurants on the boardwalk are mediocre but it’s a fun vibe.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely attentive and all about customer experience!!
- 5/5
There was nothing I didn't like everything was amazing honestly I would recommend.
- 5/5
Awesome time. I recommend Kemah Boardwalk Inn 100.percent
- 4/5
A bit too Noisy for my liking
- 5/5
It was a fantastic room. Only ask is please include a microwave.
- 5/5
Not only was it a beautiful hotel but the convenience of enjoying the boardwalk steps away was superb. Taking in the summer vibes from our balcony was the cherry on top. Making this stop a regular!

Everything was Perfect. The pool was very clean, covering the parking is always a plus. The Staff was very efficient and polite. The rooms are always clean and tidy. Love the Bacolny. I will be back again. Thanks for the Hospitality.
- 5/5
Very clean room, staff was very friendly, nice to have free garage parking, also having a balcony was nice. We will come back.
- 5/5
The room was good accept for the bed was hard.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. I love staying here and walking out on the balcony to watch the bands below and watch all the ships coming in. We will definitely be back.

Honestly stay was awfull room smelt terrible there was a roach on the wall and staff was very slow asked for a cover since my room only had 1 and they never came
- 5/5
The service and staff very helpful at all times. Amazing stay and Amazing staff. Will definitely come back love Kemah TX great atmosphere 👌
- 3/5
The Inn itself was very nice. It was older but maintained and very clean.
- 4/5
Hotel is clean but nothing special. It is part of the boardwalk so lots of things to do and eat.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very clean. We loved the balcony overlooking the Boardwalk.
- 5/5
Good place to stay for family with kids. We have a great time for a short vacation here.
- 5/5
The price is a little more than I will pay for a hotel but i did it this time for my granddaughters 16th birthday. It is nice and the beds were so comfortable. Air Conditioner was excellent. Pool very nice. Everything was really nice.
- 5/5
yes
- 4/5
parking convenient, room clean.rooms need microwave, no continental breakfast, venders expensive, corndog $9,only breakfast available $23 for a bagel and a egg bacon cresant.
- 4/5
This property needs a refresh. Broken tiles in bathroom, marred walls, a door to the patio that took two people to open. Don't get me wrong. We had a blast! Love the free parking garage. But for what they charge per night, this hotel should be immaculate.
- 5/5
The hotel is very clean, and the staff was very accommodating. The FREE parking was definitely a PLUS. It was the 4th of July weekend. We were able to watch the fireworks as well as the live entertainment from our balcony. We will definitely return when we want to stay in Kemah.
- 3/5
Tearing down the Flying Dutchman in lieu of another kiddie attraction is cause for us to look for alternatives on cruise weekends

Tearing down the Flying Dutchman in lieu of another kiddie attraction is cause for us to look for alternatives on cruise weekends
- 2/5
The property is dated and so are the rooms. We were put in a handicapped accessible room. The room and the bathroom need to be renovated and updated based on the price alone. The property was very desolate. The summer hours should be extended to 10 PM rather than 9 PM as the sun doesn’t begin to set until 8:15 or so. The night cannot be enjoyed to experience the evening ambiance.
- 3/5
I received an old refrigerator and an even older microwave; both items should have been thrown away. The tub wasn’t clean and the toilet was very low to the floor. The balcony had chip paint that came off on your hands and arms. This hotel needs some upgrades, but it does have potential to be a wonderful place to stay. The front desk staff are wonderful, very nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Great stay, do recommend
- 5/5
The whole place is GREAT!! The staff was OFF the Chart FANTASTIC!! First time here. Won’t be the last!!
- 5/5

- 5/5
We had an amazing time. Love how easy it is to get to boardwalk and all the activities.
- 4/5

Fantastic hotel and great entertainment with the party on the deck. View is perfect from the balcony.
- 5/5
It was really amazing the stay the have plenty activities for all ages.
- 4/5
But overall, the hotel experience was good.
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet, service was polite and helpful. Parking was easy.
- 5/5
My family and I enjoyed our stay! :)
- 2/5
Pool and hot tub were out of service. Construction was occurring right across from the hotel.
- 5/5
The staff at the desk were super welcoming and greeted us each time we came and left the property. We had a balcony room, but unfortunately construction was happening out side our window so the view was not the best, we could view the Bay Area and the construction was not taking place at the time so it wasn’t loud or disruptive during our stay. (This would not stop me from returning at a later date.) The room itself was large and clean. When we arrived it was freezing in the room, but we were able to adjust the temp to our comfort level so again, no problems there. The small refrigerator in the room was just okay, it didn’t keep our drinks super cold, but it seemed to have a problem with the door not closing properly. All in all it was a nice hotel and I would recommend it to others.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful; parking was easy and the room was great (we received an unexpected upgrade). We've stayed before and the standard rooms are also very comfortable. Most everything is within walking distance. Unfortunately, the pool and spa were being refreshed but they said it should be back in operation later in the summer. All in all, a very enjoyable few days. We'll be back in the fall.
- 1/5
The carpet was wet by the window and the room smelled very musty. They gave us a room with a wheel chair shower and it was really hard to shower without getting water all over the floor. The hotel was empty so I am not sure why they put us in that room. There was major construction outside of our window and the pool was closed down. Very underwhelming stay.
- 5/5
Hotel was great, safe, and clean. Unfortunately, their pool was under maintenance so our family did not get to utilize it.
- 5/5
We were happy with everything about our stay.
- 4/5
Parking was great, they give you a pass to cover parking in the parking garage and it’s very convenient for getting into the hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. It smells nice when you walk in the lobby area. The room was clean and nice. Looks a little older decorated but it has a charming vibe. I wanted to hate the bed because it was so firm, but it actually took away my back and hip pain. lol. The bedding is very soft. Bathrooms are nice with a good sized tub. Balconies were fun. Band both nights outside but they stopped playing at a decent time so that was nice. Pillows were too hard for me. The only problem with my stay is that the pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance for the duration of the stay. My requirement for wherever we stayed was that it had a pool for our toddler. I was very disappointed. I don’t remember seeing anything when I booked about the pool being closed. Other than that it was a nice stay.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the one night we stayed when the 80s was playing on the stage and the kids enjoyed the unlimited bracelets they loved it and the view was amazing, but the pool area was closed being it looked like they are cleaning it when we wish it was open to enjoy it. But other then that it was a amazing stay.
- 5/5
Location to restaurants and activities for the kids is great!
- 4/5
The patio was great to have. The pool being under construction was not good. Parking was good. Overall it was still good.
- 5/5
Clean, great location, friendly staff, very comfortable
- 5/5
Otherwise the room was great and very clean
- 5/5
Great place to stay for a visit to the boardwalk. Property is a bit dated
- 5/5
We loved that the AC in our room was super cold! But it was disappointing that the pool was closed for repairs and there was no mention of that when we booked. We brought swim suits and planned for an afternoon of relaxing by the pool only to find out it was Temporarily Closed and was only half full of water. I understand that repairs or maintenance must happen, just wish we had notice when we made the reservation.
- 5/5
Perfect location to just park the car and walk to food and back to the room. Loved the balcony over the plaza.
- 4/5
Everything is good but they need to upgrade the finish out on the hotel
- 5/5
An amazing staff with awesome customer service skills, communication from day to day was on point. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and nice view. The staff was very friendly, provided great service!
- 2/5
Not a good place for elderly or disabled people their beds are too high. They only had one handicap room that had a king bed no double beds for for people that need two beds that are handicap or disabled. No bars on the bathroom tubs they commode in the room that I stayed in was too low. It was very hard to get up and down. I’m a disabled person. I couldn’t take a bath for two days and I had to sleep in a chair for two days. They need to get more space and cater to more handicap people. I know when I got there there were handicap people already there because they were handicap places were taken up so they just need to do more for that.
- 5/5
Breakfast not included: and was only available starting 7AM next door.
- 5/5
Parking was easy - great room
- 5/5
Everything was amazing clean and comfortable
- 4/5
Nice rooms, middle of everything
- 5/5
So much staying here and sitting out on the balcony to watch the band!
- 5/5
Clan safe place with lots of places to visit near by in walking distance
- 5/5
we enjoyed the convenience and the closeness of the boardwalk and seeing the water and the people we had a wonderful room. Everything was great. We were just there for overnight, but it would be a great weekend experience.
