Best hotel in Texas!! Five Star resort with a Five Star staff!

Always a great get away to Houston

We always love staying at the Houstonian. It is full of history, wonderful amenities, and is exceptionally well maintained and clean. We loved using the Houstonian Fitness Center and three pools. Tennis and pickleball, too! Walking path around the property is one of our favs! The Spa is so beautiful and relaxing as well. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel and the wait staff was so attentive. This location in the heart of Houston amongst the shade of trees is a hidden treasure! We will be back!

Would definitely stay here again. The property is tucked away from the rest of the world and we loved our stay--even in the summertime.

Amazing place overall and will stay again. My only disappointment was the room size. We did a "corner" room which wasnt exactly a corner, just that we didnt have neighbors on both sides. Only windows at the end of the room. Although it wasnt advertised like a king suite with separate living quarters, that was sort of what I was expecting for the Premier Room, 1 King Bed with Sofa bed since our young son was along. Again, everything else was top notch.

Old fashioned hotel. Low on in room amenities (especially since we paid more than $700 per night)

We found the hotel lacking a friendly & welcoming atmosphere. After paying $1050 a night for a room we expected a little more with amenities. A tiny square of soap bar left in the bathroom, one roll of one ply, toilet paper and a rug that was at the bathroom sink tattered and was not more than 2‘ x 14“. We were initially put in a room that had another room facing us. We asked to be moved to another room and were charged an extra $50 per night. We were told the hotel was full and that was a much wanted room we later found out the hotel was only 46% occupied. The hotel is not close to any walkable restaurants, and the restaurants which are in the hotel itself close very early. So nothing to eat or drink avail! . there is a small coffee bar that’s open I believe from 7 AM to 11 where they serve bagels and a few pastries. A very limited selection and a very limited supply because they ran out of bagels sometimes by 8 AM. This is a large sought after hotel and it’s surprising to us to be presented with this type of service and amenities. The best service we got was in the tribute room in the evening for dinner. The food was excellent, and the waiters were wonderful. The service by the young men at the front entrance upon arrival was wonderful, very friendly unfortunately, it stops there. I don’t consider paying $1050 a night for a hotel room with very few amenities anything special we were expecting a nicer room even a little bigger.. I had to ask each day for extra towels

Everything was Great

This was our first time staying here and we loved it so much! As soon as we drove up, the outdoor staff were so attentive and the front desk staff were also very friendly! They upgraded our room complimentary and it had such a beautiful view! The property is so nice and clean and our kids enjoyed the pool with the slide! Loved the amenities and how clean everything is! Will definitely be staying here again! Great location with beautiful scenery and easy parking!

A quiet oasis in Houston .

The hotel was beautiful, rooms nicely appointed, the pool was nice, the workout facilities beautiful, and the grounds were lovely! Spa is in its own beautiful building. Location is great! We would stay here again!

The Houstonian property and grounds are gorgeous and have amazing amenities. We visited the spa and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, massages, facials, and pool. We had snacks poolside in between appointments as well and the our services were delightful. The restaurant on site is a wonderful addition, the food is delicious and our waitress was super attentive. We always enjoy our stay here and look forward to returning soon!

Excellent hotel. Convenience of pool and comprehensive sport complex is amazing. Great place with kids. Everyone can find something to do on site.

Impeccable! The hotel staff was incredibly polite and professional, making you feel like a VIP. They accommodated every request, no matter how small. The gym facility itself was excellent, and the spa was simply wonderful.

Is hard to find parking if you do self parking the only available parking on the lowest level but sewage smell is really bad

Highly recommend

The Hotel stay includes access to the separate health club. The Trellis spa is a separate business— they offer excellent services but not access to health club. If you book a hotel stay note that you can go to Trellis spa only if you are getting services there. The website does not make this clear.

Beautiful property and loved it was sp close to everything!

From the moment we arrived on property everything was done with excellence and care. The property itself is other-worldly, in the best sense. The scenery is lovely, the staff service is exceptional, the amenities are perfectly curated making The Houstonian a must-have on your travels to Houston.

The gym is a paradise for anyone into fitness, ample weight room, track, sauna, steam room and beautiful locker room plus showers. This was a great experience. I will return.

We enjoyed our stay with our 2 kids. The only issue I can think about is the sand around the pool (I think this was a temporary issue). Beautiful place, very quiet and relaxing. The room was very clean! The staff was great! The restaurant is nice too. Will go back!

EVERYTHING EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

Service was excellent. Love the rooms and multiple towels. Great location and enjoyed the amenities such as the gym and pool. We definitely will be back because of top notch service

Amenities, staff and great food!

Always top notch

Everything was great until about 3 AM there was a group of (possibly intoxicated) guests that walked through the room hallways yelling loudly. I notified the front desk as I was checking out and their response was to ask if I called security? As if we were the only sleeping people to be woken up by this. Then they minimized by explaining that it was Valentine’s Day and there was a wedding that the hotel hosted that night. Not sure what I expected, honestly, but it felt like something I would experience and hear at a chain rather than a property that cost this much for room and dining. Other than this, the Houstonian has always been a great stay.

My stay at the Houstonian was nothing less than amazing! The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean, and the experience was worth every penny. The cherry on top was the cake and champagne that was waiting in my room along with a personalized birthday card. I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was great !

All the staff were helpful, professional, courteous. The grounds are gorgeous and the rooms are good size. They had a lot of events at the hotel during our stay so parking was a bit chaotic when we arrived. We stayed only one night for girls “spa day” and Trellis spa was fantastic. It was definitely a splurge to go there but I never felt so pampered!

Absolutely loved this hotel! We only stayed for a night but definitely planning to come back again to enjoy the entire property. It’s so quiet you don’t realize you are in a big city.

This may be my new favorite hotel! It has it all and you would never believe that you are in the middle of Houston. What an oasis this place is. We enjoyed the pools, our beautiful room, and the restaurants. What a great place to stay. I will not stay anywhere else in Houston ever again!

Beautiful grounds and incredibly peaceful although being super convenient to everything Houston has to offer. Onsite restaurant is outstanding, as is the spa. Best facial I’ve ever had from Christina! All staff were excellent! We will be back.

The hotel gift shop was subpar. The spa massage was average at best. Not worth it.

Stayed for a weekend birthday celebration. Enjoyed the spa and the grounds. The food and beverage options were excellent. Staff were super friendly and attentive. The turn down service is a nice touch. It’s a special place.

Houstonian is a wonderful Hotel...beautiful property, attentive service...great health Club...several pools...feels like being at a resort, yet very accessible to shopping and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was a bit outdated and dusty. Could tell they only clean seen areas only.
