Sonesta Essential IAH Airport JFK Boulevard

Because I was charged for a stay that I did not stay. I usually stay sonesta as I travel..... but this dilemma here.....whew

I’ve been calling since July 13 regarding my $100 deposit. Management is never on the property to take care of the situation. Today is July 21st and I’m still waiting on my deposit. Staff can’t tell me why I haven’t received my deposit.

Room was fine. Bed comfortable. Staff were very pleasant and helpful The darn PARKING. Ridiculous!!!! Even right outside the hotel entrance, NO PARKING because it belongs to the Hotel next door and they will Tow you. What!! I won't be staying here again. I don't feel safe walking across parking lots to get to my vehicle at 3am.

Looks like just switching owners. Place was very clean people were nice. Hotel back door was left open over night every night I was there. I think it was for the smokers or whatever else that was happening. I would highly advice the hotel not to keep there exit doers open all night due to safety concerns other then that it was a nice stay

Great location near airport. Hotel was average. Dated room not very clean. Staff was quick and helpful. It was raining during our Shuttle to the airport and van roof leaked. We were soaked by the time we reached airport.

Location was good. Staff was friendly. Someone tried to enter the room at 3:30 am . Opened the door. Very sparse room. Hallways are beaten up . No extra bedding for the pull out couch

I paid for a booking after bad weather at the airport canceled many flights, I had a confirmed booking, and arrived at the hotel only to be told there were zero rooms available. Completely unacceptable. I will remove this review upon full refund. Zero goods or services were rendered for the money I paid. Extremely upsetting experience. Front desk staff were apologetic, but could not really do anything for me. This may be a decent hotel, but I would not know; Zero stars for zero rooms.

I had a great stay with Sonesta and would visit w this hotel again in the future. The room was clean and staff was very responsive. The shuttle service e was very timely, I waited appx. 15 min before arrival of my shuttle. I was pleased with my stay.

The hotel and rooms seemed to need a lot of maintenance. Parking is confusing because the lot is same as Comfort Inn next door. Coffee in the lobby sucked so bad I couldn’t even get through half a cup.

Good for an airport hotel, staff very nice, easy hotel shuttle, breakfast included. Rooms are dated but honestly for one night its okay.

I didn’t like my stay. The room had a very unpleasant, musty odor, and the bathroom was dirty. Additionally, the bedroom door lock was faulty and came off easily, which was a safety concern since my one-and-a-half-year-old daughter could open it without any problem.

Close to airport and reasonably tidy room..though the building and contents are showing their age. Good breakfast and clean sheets made it good value for $$. No hot water!!..luke warm.

Would not refund money because my flight got canceled two days in a row

I got stuck in Houston after my flight got canceled and wasn’t offered a hotel voucher. Got on Expedia found this hotel down the street and quickly booked it while it was a great price. Check in was easy and the room was nice. What sent it over the edge was the fact that they offered a free shuttle back to the airport the next day so I can fly out.

The bed was awesome, i really need a great big comfy bed to sleep after 25+ hours without sleep, the personal was awesome as well, they let me get the room prior to the chek in time due availability, so really grateful for that. Overall great one night stay.

Stayed at this Sonesta at the airport because we had an early flight out. We asked if the parking lot was secure and of course they assured us it was. Next morning our window of our vehicle was busted out. They acted like it was an every day occurrence and we’re not responsible. Will not be staying there again.

This hotel is just one of the many options you can find around the area, with shuttle and breakfast included. The rooms are a bit impersonal and there's no bedside light, for example; they're espacious, huge, though.

I arrived at 10pm at night, the front desk told me to park around back as I would be ticketed out front, they were not friendly and made me feel uncomfortable. When I asked how to find my room he told me where the elevator was.. nothing else. The hotel did not seem newly renovated, I had a very dirty room. With stains on carpet and door was damaged. I did not feel safe there and to top it off the planes noise was very loud. When I left in the morning the front desk just stared at me, so unnerving.. I won't return.

I like the convenience it's near the airport the price is always right the only thing is it should be more places to eat it's only for that see you would have to have a car or lift or Uber to the other places for lunch or dinner.

This is by far the worse property I have ever stayed at in all the years of traveling! It was so filthy dirty! The staff had no idea of what customer service was all about. The night I checked in, the worker behind the desk literally kept his big set of earphones on and we could barely understand him. The health department should shut them down!

The front desk attendant lied straight to my face about the pool. I checked in around 8:30pm, went straight to the pool and the gate was locked. Asked the front desk about it and he responded "The pool is closed." I asked, "What time does it close?" He said "9:00pm." He let me in when I responded "It's not 9:00 pm." The sign above the pool says it closes at midnight. 😑 The hotel is cheap, so you get what you pay for.

This hotel really needs a lot of work in every area.Starting with the staff, not wearing an uniform or an ID that identify them as employees. The breakfast was an important aspect for me in order to save, however the food was soo poor that not even coffee was ready. The room was in terrible shape, we have a toilet that every time we flushed, water started to came out from the base. I will not come back to this hotel, I will like to share the photos that I took but this app doesn't allow me to do it.

My car got towed because I checked in late and it was dark and the parking spot was not clearly marked. The parking spot was in front the hotel but it was for another hotel and they towed me the front desk attendant failed to give me parking permit

For Star the inside of the hotel lobby looked very outdated and the hallway on the first floor going to the elevator looked terrible. The door going up the stairs was in bad condition looked like it was going to fall as soon as you open it.

Lousy service. They make you call a thousand times to give you instructions for the shuttle and is already fall. Super bad planning and organization: they should ask how many people and offer more transportation or not offer anything at all

The room was absolutely terrible! There was a period stain on the covers and a bandaid in the towel that the provided! Like did they even clean the place. And when brought to the managers attention he rolled his eyes and stated that all he could do was give new blankets and towels. Absolutely disgusting, I would not recommend this place!!

The staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was decent. My complaint is how much nicer the place looks in their pictures when it is really kind of run down.

Very poor maintenance I won’t be book in this place

The hotel is close to the airport. The hotel was easy to get to from Beaumont. The hotel was easy to check-in even thought it was 11pm when we got there. There was plenty of spaces to park and easy to get back into the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. It was a quick overnight stay but would stay there again.

Shuttle never showed up. Had to pay an Uber. There is always a problem with the shared shuttle service at IAH. Initially told it would be 45 min. Kind of a long wait …. Then a no show.

They have an infestation of raccoons and they brake into to people's vehicles from underneath and breakfast was bad

We were greeted in the room with a live roach. The toilet seat was broken, and the toilet paper holder was barely hanging on the wall. We immediately called down to the front desk. The desk clerk moved our room across the hall to a room that was not much better. The chair in the room was covered/stained with human body fluids, the toilet seat in this room was also broken, and a couple of dead roaches on the floor. It was late and we were exhausted, so with no alternative but to leave, we bit the bullet and stayed. But it was GROSS! Shame on Sonesta to allow a location to exist in this condition

No daily cleaning Breakfast was terrible- ran out of food

Pretty sure the hotel is being run by drug using, unstable people. Invthe lobby there was rough construction materials. It is filthy. The carpets were horrifying. Half done painting and finishes. Its like someone's drunk uncles was hired for maintenance. Neighborhood also sketchy. I went down to catch an uber at 3:30 in the morning and there were two cops hauling out a homeless guy who snuck into the hotel. This place needs to be investigated and shutdown. It smelled like day old fried donuts, too.

Pool closure was a disappointment.

This property was dirty! The furniture had dirt stuck too it. Towels were dirty. Room service never came in to clean room.

This place is very run down and dingy. Not a fun place to stay.

This was the biggest “false advertisement” I have ever seen. The front picture is computer generated. The carpets and bedding were disgusting with stains and body hair still on our pillows. Walking in to the lobby you get hit with a smell that I would imagine is cigarette smoke that has seeped into the walls. No hot breakfast, the pool was basically a puddle that there’s no way they properly chlorinated. Run away avoid at all costs. Just plain old gross.

Took booking and payment, on arrival the hotel was closed. No communication about this. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Had to sort alternative accommodation without any support and pay out even more money for a place to sleep.

Sonesta Essential IAH Airport JFK Boulevard did not accept my Expedia reservation even after sI showed it on my phone. The woman at front desk said it was not possible, that they were closed for repairs after huracane.

The service in the front desk was good, but the conditions of the hotel are precarious, broken shower curtains, uncomfortable and poor quality pillows, broken room curtains that do not work and are transparent. Room 215

The facility is a little bit aged. The breakfast I had was bare minimum. Not suitable for long-stay.

Room seeved the purpose after a misconnect at the airport.
