Hyatt Place Houston/Galleria

Absolutely gorgeous suites with spacious bathrooms. Sofa sleeper was surprisingly comfortable, and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Valet parking staff were absolutely wonderful. Extremely helpful, and respectful. Checking in was easy and staff were quick to find accommodations for my own mistakes in booking dates, which I GREATLY appreciate. Water pressure in the showers is absolutely wonderful, and really relaxing after a nice dip in the balcony pool. Complimentary breakfast had a large selection as far as food options, although the dining area is a bit small during crowds. Food was pretty okay, we also went a bit later so I’m sure that had a part to play rather than food itself. A nice little staycation in H-Town made even better with a beautiful building and wonderful staff. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Comfortable and convenient place to stay for Galleria shopping trips. The west end of the Galleria (Saks Fifth Ave) is only 2 walkable blocks away. The included breakfast has more options than a Holiday Inn Express. Bed is comfy. Room is modern. My only quibble is the ground-level elevator lobby, which is impersonal and stuffy.

The hotel is very nice and we always have a great experience. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and the breakfast is great. This is the first choice of hotel when we travel. The parking is very limited being in the Galleria area. Not a big deal and just be aware.

Not much, the location is not bad but, Galleria Mall shopping stops at 9pm. No assistance with luggage, just self service. Reception is on the 3rd floor. Not much info from the Receptionist that was onsite with regards to directions and restaurant choices. Rooms are stuffy and no proper shower, only a bath with shower head and curtain. Beds were very uncomfortable, including the pillows. Air conditioning is very loud.

There was an incident Saturday morning that was very uncomfortable. A woman was arguing and yelling at her husband right in front of the receptionist while other guests were sitting nearby having breakfast. The receptionist didn’t say anything or try to address the situation. It was very disrespectful and extremely annoying to have to listen to while trying to enjoy breakfast. I ended up leaving without finishing my meal. Afterward, I called the manager and spoke with a lady to explain what happened. She told me someone would get back to me, but I never heard from anyone. Because of this experience, I’m giving the hotel three stars. I will say that the valet staff were wonderful very respectful, friendly, and helpful ..

Parking entrance is not good! Turning into the is hard. Cars lined up in the street to check in hotel and valet parking area. Breakfast was okay.

Was not expecting to pay $35 per night for parking. I prepaid so wasn’t able to cancel last minute. Valet should be optional not mandatory.

We had a wonderful and restful stay. The view was nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to the Galleria a block away and a food hall across the street. The property was nice and valet was quick. Thank you for accommodating my requests and for a great stay.

Great work out gym Their insistence to charge $35.00 per night for their “valet parking”. They have a huge empty parking lot that seldom has a dozen cars parking in it. After paying a moderate price for accommodation, you’d think they could have a lower parking rate

NO staffing at check in. breakfast area not kept clean. i was there 45 minutes prior to end of breakfast and many of the offerings were out and had not been replaced. ice machine on our floor not functioning or out of ice.

The staff was so very helpful and we appreciate the assistance that was provided for my disabled husband.

Queenie is always great and professional. That being said when we checked in the clerk made no reference that cleaning the room everyday as we have stayed at many properties and when we check in we are asked whether we need the room cleaned daily and if not we are given some type of reward. When we asked they sent us a lady that was extremely nasty and acted like she was doing us a favor for cleaning our room and bringing fresh towels. On our last day we were not given enough hand towels so it is extremely frustrating since we think the world of Queenie. The parking staff was just the opposite as they were always attentive and helpful. They are important because they are your last person that you see daily.

Room smelled like mold HVAC system needs to be cleaned. Staff was friendly valet was great. Only thing is that the valet has limited spacing and causes unnecessary traffic jams. Overall the stay was ok could’ve been better as for the mold smell in the room and also the hallways are hot because no air is circulating which is a problem.

The Room was bigger than pictures and clean, we loved our stay there for two nights. Staff members are very very nice.

Overall, the hotel is in a nice and safe part of the city and it is close to many restaurants and shops.

Only issues is the parking only valet they provide and it’s $35 and also the room I was in carpet spent like mildew but everything else was perfect

At time of booking be aware valet parking will be charged from a $100 deposit made at check-in. We paid $37/night + tax. I’d say the hotel maintains a clean environment. You cannot access the guest room floors without your room key. My only minor complaint was the random stains on the rugs, smudges on glass, dust over headboards, a clump of hair found on the carpet… there were some strands of hair but I understand that with industrial washer machines hair will get caught on towels or bed sheets. Other than that, I suggest just making sure your room was clean made ready. I’m sure the staff at the hotel would’ve sent house keeping, but we were here for two nights/1 day. It wasn’t the end of the world. We liked having several food options across the street.

It was clean however the shower gel was not stocked, completely empty. We checked in at 1:45am on Friday and were told that breakfast runs from 6-10am however on coming down at 9:45am the breakfast was already done. It was closed at 9am. That’s when the front desk told us that weekdays breakfast runs between 6-9am and weekends 6-10am. She asked the kitchen and they said they can only give us yoghurts. Only upon asking for the name of the lady who checked us in and mentioning that I’d like to leave a review that’s when the front desk manager offered us a sandwich which we appreciated as we were given wrong information. There was also a big cart trolley (maybe for collecting dirty towels) left outside our door from the time we checked in to time we checked out. Really not pleased with my stay based on my experience but the hotel is good.

Once again We loved the unique pool. The staff are superb!!

My only comment, parking is extra, $35, per night, is expensive.

I didn’t like that I get room near maintenance door and every morning it bother me when staff started to use this door for their equipments and also the hotel has no free parking but overall hotel and staff were great.

This hotel was excellent! The rooms were fresh, clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with a great selection. The staff was friendly, courteous, attentive, and always willing to help with anything we needed. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay.

The front desk clerks gives out your room key out to anyone. Didn’t call us or inquire on ID just gave them a key. That person walk into to our room very unsafe.

But the worst part is the horridly sketchy looking people staying there. Felt really unsafe around them. If I had known that is the clientele, I would have definitely stayed somewhere else. Also, the elevators take forever.

We were asked when we checked in if we wanted our rooms cleaned everyday and we said yes. Our room wasn’t cleaned once during our entire stay. We had to ask for toilet paper because we ran out. Our trash binds were overflowing and we didn’t have space to place our trash. The ac made the both of us sick, probably because of all the dust in the vents.

Understaffed at the front desk. Valet parking is $35/day, just park at the garage next door. There was black mold in the room, there was no apology, they just gave me a new room as if they expected it.

Everything was really good. Little to no human interaction but it was good. The defeating part is the parking, you have to use valet and that is $35.00 a night which is exorbitant. Other than that all good.

Nice hotel. The pool is small but you can use the pool from Hyatt Regency next door for free which is outdoor and bigger.

Even after I checked out early, I called back later with questions with my bill, and he immediately took ownership of the situation, addressed my concerns, and made sure everything was handled professionally. During my stay, he made me feel at home and always attentive to anything I needed. On top of that, the fact that he is bilingual was huge plus, as it made communication even easier and showed his ability to connect with and assist a wider range of guests. It’s rare to find someone with that level of care, professionalism, and leadership. He has portential to be in a management position because of the way he handles customers and situations with confidence and responsibility.

The check-in took forever due to an inexperienced / ill-trained front desk clerk.

Breakfast was excellent, downside would be not having syrup for pancakes or french toast, but that’s trivial. The cleaning lady was so nice, and really made the room more organized. I tried, but WOW, she did a great job. Two things, there was a bug on the floor in the bathroom, dead thankfully, and the alarm clock wasn’t working, and when moved it made a weird sound. We noticed the cords were exposed in the back, possible fire hazard, so we unplugged it and told the front desk. Other than that everything was great! If you are looking for a pool, stay elsewhere, this pool is tiny! Smallest pool I have ever seen. Kids still had fun, but it would have been nice to be able to join in as well.

Karen was so amazing helped us navigate a new staff as we decided to stay an additional night we loved it so much.

Great stay as usual. Staff was helpful and courteous. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. We travel to Houston often to MD Anderson. We will be back ! This is our favorite hotel. The only problem was navigating the Tv remote.

The not-so-good: check-in was slow, the desk attendant didn’t make us feel welcome. We booked a king room, got 2 queens instead. Air conditioner was noisy. Be aware that the only parking option is valet $33/ night, which wasn’t mentioned in Expedia info. You can get on and out as you please without having to pay additional fees
