Hyatt Place Houston Downtown

The property was well placed for an Astros’ game. It was easy to get to from I-45. I did not like the TV that did not work. This was reported to the front desk, but got a shrug as a response. I did not like a room phone that did not work. I liked the comfort of the bed and the breakfast was OK. The noise from the street was not terrible, but earplugs would have helped. Parking was easy with the Valet service, but not cheap.

Room was nice and clean, very helpful staff. Parking was convenient!

Great location to be able to walk to the Astros games and local bars. We also saw a play down the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff. Rooms were nice, very comfortable bed. They only have Valet parking or find somewhere else to park. I was able to walk to local bars and restaurants.

Front desk, breakfast and location was great and the Valet Mohammed went above and beyond with great care and service. I will book here again!

Got there on a Saturday for three nights. Valet parking is challenging due to Texas Ave being so busy. Room was spotless. Breakfast was well above average with a large variety of items. The Houston tunnels can be accessed within one block and there are a number of decent priced restaurants and markets nearby. Houston vendors are exactly friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back.

If you’re going to the ballpark I would definitely recommend this location and easy 7 to 10 minute walk to the park

Staff super helpful, super clean

Dallas at the front desk was great in assisting in check in! All of staff we came in contact were great! Breakfast was delicious! Staying here again for any Astros/Dynamo/Dash games in future!

It was an amazing day. Only the issue was parking if you do valet it’s very expensive and there’s nowhere else to park unless you park in some other spot I have to walk and there’s a lot of homeless people hanging around.

Park in the garage on corner of Texas and Fannin is right about the hotel for 20 dollars a day

I really like the hotel and it was cool to know that it used to be the Southwestern Bell Tower. Iykyk😂 The room was nice and spacious however the beds were not comfortable. That was the only flaw for me. Valet was on point, front desk was super sweet and courteous, helpful and informative. 8 minute walk to Daikin Park which was very convenient for the concert we were there for. Breakfast had many selections and staff was friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

excellent hotel to stay with your family when you go on vacation.

Very welcoming, great service and very clean.

It isn’t fancy, but it is safe and clean with a nice breakfast and reasonably priced.

Great location. Fun historic building. Picked this location because it was a walkable distance to the ballpark. Breakfast was decent. Rooms are really clean. Bathrooms were really nice with oversize showers. Would stay here again.

The sofa bed is just springs and is hard. The room design is very awkward . When the sofa bed is extended, the space becomes very small and makes walking around the room impossible. The phone in the room did not work, the right shade would not go down and caused the sun to beam straight into the room. The breakfast was very limited . There was only one waffle maker which created a long wait. The bowls were located above the waffle maker causing people to reach over you. The Starbucks is limited which makes the drinks offered limited

To start with the front desk, staff was so nice and check in on Saturday was so smooth, unfortunately the bar closed early on our first night, which was a bummer but the next night on Sunday it was very nice to be up there in the evening. The rooms do have a refrigerator, but do not have a microwave and there is no pool at this location. Our stay was great.

The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and courteous. The valet staff were very courteous and very quick at retrieving the car when needed. The front desk staff were helpful at answering questions we had. We didn't get the chance to try the breakfast because we slept in, but the coffee was good.

There were a few downsides though. Parking is expensive, and when we checked in we were initially given a room that hadn’t been serviced, but the front desk quickly fixed it and reassigned us a new one. The fitness center was also closed for renovations, which would have been good to know ahead of time. There was also a lingering smell of marijuana in the elevator and hallway at times

No one comes to do room cleaning during our 3 night stay, even after we have requested.

I loved staff. They were very polite and helpful during our stay. I didn’t like being in a handicap room when I didn’t select this room when I reserved. The comforter had a stain on it and the wall lamp was missing from the bedside. Other than those few things, the property was nice.

On another note: Houston needs to provide some services for the unhoused population in downtown areas though. It was heartbreaking to see some many ppl suffering in the midst of

Unfortunately the gym was undergoing renovations so it was not available during our stay. Also, would be nice to have coffee/tea available during the day and not just at breakfast. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was clean and spacious in the rooms.

The hotel was great. The breakfast area was too small. There was never enough hot food available for the crowd size and there didn't seem to be any urgency from the staff to address the issue

The Hyatt Place in Downtown Houston offers spacious clean rooms and a nice breakfast in the mornings. Located in a busy Downtown location, the hotel offers valet parking at a steep price. During busy times, it could be very hectic. We sat in our car in the middle of the street for 15 min before we were able to hand our car over. Valet personnel however were courteous and helpful. The surrounding area is a little sketchy at night.

The staff were very nice. The room was nice but a bit crowded. When the sofa bed was out you could not walk between the bed and it. All breakfast items were gone each morning due to the crowd, so we were not able to use the free breakfast benefit. Nice location to walk to the convention center, about a 10 minute walk.

There’s a garage around the corner that charges $20/24 hour parking. Cheaper than valet with the hotel, (which seems like the only other option)

The staff was over the top friendly and very helpful with any and all requests.

Upon arrival the toilet was clogged and I immediately let the front desk know. Six hours later after returning from our event the toilet is still clogged and the front desk had no record of the initial call. At almost 10 pm, we still do not have basic restroom accessibility to our toilet facilities. Housekeeping is here now and they are unsuccessful with unclogging the commode with someone coming with a snake to try again. Snaking a toilet without disinfecting the restroom afterwards with a new guest in disgustingly unsanitary. I am completely disappointed with the situation seeing as how expensive this room was for a basic room with windows facing a brick building.

Rooms are dated with some patch up repairs showing. Room advertised with a city view are deciving. No close or free parking only a garage behind the hotel. Staff was friendly.

The room was good. A bit small and the tv being right in the middle of the room was strange but overall good.

Being downtown this is not a new property but has been well kept. Had a minor hiccup with the servicing to the room which was sorted quickly and amenably with the management.
