Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the clean and spacious rooms, as well as the convenient location near the Galleria mall. However, there are consistent complaints about the quality of breakfast and issues with room maintenance and cleanliness. Some guests also express dissatisfaction with the cost of parking and hidden fees.

It was an outdated, dirty old hotel, definitely not worth as for what they charge. The employees they were good they did the best they could.

We reserved a two bedroom room paid in full two months before we were going to check in when we got there. She said oh we rented out your room so we put you into separate rooms with an adjoining door and we weren’t able to call you because there’s no phone number on file we actually I know there was because we can’t pay for and rent a room unless there is a phone number and email on file so not only do they not even try to contact you if there’s something wrong with your reservation they also lied to you about it. The room was small. There was no extra blankets or pillows in the room for the pullout sofa bed, which we did use and when we asked for something to be brought up, we waited two hours before we went down and actually went and asked them for some and said we were wait while she went and get them and it took her 15 minutes to go get them.

The suite was nice and spacious The unexpected $150 charge for per fee. I feel it was way too high and I wasn't prepared for that. They advertise pet friendly but no specific place for pets to relieve themselves. The morning breakfast was limited to options.

Staff was amazing, room was sparkling clean, free breakfast was delicious and parking garage was nice. You feel safe.

When we got here at at 2 am we didn't even know where to enter or park. There's a big sign that says Homewood suites but there are also several hotels right next to it. The parking lot was confusing because there was no sign to go into this lot. I wish there were arrows or something bright to indicate where to go. In case you are reading this the parking lot is the first one on the left. The stay was mostly pleasant as we had a two room two King bed suite. I will first delve into the positives then the negatives. The positive was you are right by everything in Houston. I liked the garage parking lot. We were literally within walking distance of the Galleria mall. The room was mostly clean and spacious. The breakfast was okay but nothing spectacular. There's nothing that will jump out to you at this hotel in terms of amenties. Now for the negative. When we got there the elevator lights wouldn't turn on. It can get confusing at times because you might press the second floor and go to the parking lot. We were on floor 9 and pressed 1 and it wouldn't open. Then we went to 2 and it opened to the parking lot. Our dishwasher flooded while we were there and had to wait till the following day for a service repairman to come fix it. I tried asking the housekeeping for some soap and shampoo since we were there for 5 nights. None of them spoke any English. The swimming pool is very small. The exercise room was also small and didn't have a lot of equipment. Some parts of the hotel was old

Breakfast is good. Location is central. Place looks dated. Elevator lights don't work properly so it can get dark in there.
- 3.5/5
The location and the views from rooms are awesome Is too old, the elevators are broken , and the breakfasts lady can’t hold it , probably 2 or 3 person on charge of it , they never can bring the breakfast full on tables

The area was excellent !!!! The elevators the lightning was trouble!
- 4.5/5
Location! We were shocked that the staff who cleaned the room washed two glasses and one spoon using the dishwasher, wasting water and energy. On most days we were in the hotel, I washed the few utensils we used. There was one day I did not have time. When we got back, the machine was still washing two glasses and one spoon. Staff should care more for the environment.

My stay was great. The room was clean and linens were pristine. The foldout couch was a little wonky but I didnt use it so it didnt matter. The elevators were going through a midlife crisis, it seemed like. One worked well, the other decided it didnt want to open on certain floors unless you pushed the button to open the doors when it would stop. Neither elevator had a working light but thats ok ... They put a motion light in there so youre not traveling to your room in the dark! Great location. I would stay here again. YOU ARE CHARGED $25 PER DAY TO PARK IF YOU BROUGHT A CAR.

I sent a message to them to see if I can send my parents to another hotel and asked if they would refund. And I recd zero response.

The staff was very pleasant and the breakfast was good, that is why I give this Hotel a 2 star, if not it would be lower. We stayed one week, when we got to the hotel, only one elevator was working and without light, the next day both elevators worked but with no lights. There was an awful odor in the hallway to our room (someone or some pet peed outside in the hall) and we told the front desk various times and was cleaned the last day we were there. We called the front desk twice for towels and pillows and had to go down to get them because they never arrived. It’s more a problem of maintenance and house keeping. We only got one day of house keeping in the whole week we were there. If you plan on sleeping on the sofa bed know it is not comfortable.
- 5/5
Everything was good, just need the lights in the elevator fixed. Other than thar, staff was attentive and friendly.

Their was also an issue with elevator lights not working and one being out of service. Other than that breakfast and cocktail hour were cool. Room were okay, but I think could have smelled better.

Elevator didn't work and the one that dud had no lights on Air in my room didn't work Halls smell of wet pet urine
- 3/5
The staff need to be more responsive when guests have complaints. Although my issues were ultimately resolved, the attention and responsiveness needs to be improved. I was almost exasperated with the slow response.
- 1/5
The biggest frustration was an emergency water shutdown that lasted for hours throughout the morning and into the afternoon. Unfortunately, this caused me to be late for an important morning meeting. Another issue was the elevator situation. With 15 floors and only one elevator operating, getting up and down the building felt like waiting for a Metro bus during rush hour. That said, there were a few bright spots. The front desk staff were excellent—friendly, professional, welcoming, and always willing to help. They consistently greeted guests and provided great customer service. I also appreciated the security measures; requiring a room key for building access 24/7 made me feel safe as an out-of-town guest. The location was another positive. It was conveniently located near many tourist attractions, restaurants, and other points of interest. Overall, while the customer service, security, and location were top-notch, the condition of the hotel and the maintenance issues made for a disappointing stay. I would not choose to stay here again

i had a great time there

Hotel is located in very convenient distance to everywhere in galleria area. Hotel not modern but well maintained. Room was king two bedroom suite that was big and very clean. All bedrooms has tv and own bathroom. Live by room connected to the kitchen with refrigerator sink china and so on. Suits was very convenient to us thanks.

I didn't enjoy my stay here. Not worth the money. There are better options nearby. I had booked a suite; however, the bathroom fittings were dated. Room was big, air-conditioning was nice, but check in experience was HORRIBLE. Their card machine was not working and the woman at the front desk (name starting with a 'K' ...something like Keyeisha or some such name) kept saying that there's a problem with my card and she can't take a security deposit. I called up my bank and they confirmed there was no problem with the card. This person at the fron desk arrogantly told me I can't get the room keys because they aren't able to take a security deposit. This despite me having paid for my stay IN FULL in advance. What audacity! 3rd class service. Even their breakfast was what you'd find in a motel. The staff was rude and didn't seem interested at all. The only advantage is the short distance to the Galleria mall, but honestly there are many other options nearby worth exploring. One of the worst check in experiences I ever had. There is another Homewood Suites I stayed at in Memorial City, and it was so much nicer. But this one in Galleria should just close down or change its staff immediately.
- 3/5
Starting with the traffic signs at the hotels entrance you will find the hotel needs maintenance. The carpet smells, etc. the staff is nice and friendly.
- 3/5
The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was decent but there were too many issues we had to deal with. First the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working and the staff had to send someone to our room to fix it, the hot water did not work and one morning all together there was no water at all for several hours due to a pipe bursting and to top it off, at 2 or 3 am the alarm system goes off in our room telling us to “evacuate “ for security reasons. We jumped up to later find out the alarm system was glitching. Oh and I forgot, my husband went to gym and all the treadmills had notes on them saying every one of them were out of order. The hotel could be a great place to stay if maintenance was better.

Very friendly staff and very helpful from the moment i checked in to the moment i checked out.

We had a two room suite, with a standard fridge and the kitchen had supplies and a dishwasher . I did not expect to be so pleased. Good bed, secure parking, adequate breakfast. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was nice was late a couple times which didn’t help if you had a really early check out but other than that no issues at all plenty of variety

Breakfast was fresh and good. Had plenty of options available. Very filling. Kitchen in room was sufficient to prepare a meal. Staff was great.

Very cordial and professional. Had a great experience

My husband and I enjoyed our stay the staff was helpful and friendly. It was our Anniversary so they Recommended us to some nice restaurants close to our hotel. Breakfast was good also over all great experience…

The rooms are spacious and it has a full size fridge, microwave, stove. The carpet looks old and dirty. The bathroom was nice but it had mildew. You can tell that they don’t deep clean the corners in the shower etc. I wouldn’t stay there as there are cleaner hotels for same money. The parking was $25 extra a night. The key to my room did not work. I had to go back to the front desk and it took 30 extra minutes to get it fixed because only one person was working and she stepped away so 6 people were waiting for her.

I and my guest were overwhelmed with our stay at Homewood Suites on April 4th. We had originally booked a double queen room since we were only staying one night. When we arrived, which was extremely early, the room was in the process of getting ready for our check-in. The clerk had informed us that they did not have a room with two queens available and they offered us two separate rooms with a king bed and we declined because we did not want to be separated so, she accommodated us as we returned from our destination and the room was still not ready the clerk gave us a suite with a full kitchen two bedrooms two bathrooms and a living area all for the same price as the original room and she also waved the parking fee because we had to wait past the check-in time. We were also right by the mall how convenient because it was walking distance from the hotel. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting in the Houston area to stay at this location.
- 4/5
- 5/5
Yes, an assortment of breakfast options.
- 4/5
The room was clean. Dishes were chipped and very few. Only one glass and no frying pan to cook with. Dishwasher had lots of rust inside...not safe to use if you have digestive issues.
- 1/5
The breakfast was misleading in the pictures they did not refill certain items even with an hour left until the buffet ended. They used paper plates and did not even have a waffle batter with two waffle makers available. The room itself was horrendous, the moment you walk into the hotel it smells like a dog or cat kennel. We had neighbors who were smoking on a non smoking floor. Our kitchen stove range did not work, there was holes in the shower pipe that were covered with foil as well as a dirty towel in our closet. The glasses in the kitchen had finger prints and lip marks on them as well as the spoons
- 4/5
I found a cockroach in the bathroom
- 5/5
It was just not enough space to seat and get breakfast.
- 4/5
The breakfast in this hotel was so so. The location is pretty good, within a walking distance to Galleria.
- 5/5
Nice and comfortable accommodation great breakfast although Aircon wasn’t working the laundry wasn’t working in the pool is also not working
- 2/5
The hallways smelled of urine. The room smelled like the rug because it has not had a shampoo or a good vacuum. The couch was disgustingly dirty. The pillow did not even fit on the couch anymore from extreme use. Definitely would not recommend.
- 2/5
This property needs updated. The 5th floor smells like urine and it hits you immediately upon getting off of the elevator. The hide-a-bed matreses are worn out and the TV's are dated. The breakfast was just ok. One safety item to point out....your cleaning person was mopping the entrance floors and hallways without a wet floor sign present. Huge liability issue as you know, but wanted to point that out as it is likely a training issue. Candidly, we will not return, but are grateful for the opportunity to share.
- 5/5
Breakfast was really good. The place definitely suited our needs. However the pullout sleeper needed an upgrade. Some of the upholstery needed a steam clean. Would we stay again, yes. However, there are just certain little things that need to be addressed
- 5/5
Nice and clean, perfect for a nice little get away.
- 5/5
We travelled there with our 2 children under 3! Check in and out was super easy. Every staff member we encountered from the front desk to the halls, were extremely kind and always greeted us. The breakfast was great and the rooms were clean. The staff went above and beyond after my daughter had forgotten something in our room & found it for us after check out. We will definitely stay here again. My only recommendation as our family is sensitive to smells, is maybe less fragrance used in cleaning the rooms. Though it is possible the previous guest sprayed something in there! It was noticeable most in the bedroom.

Our family usually stays here for both business and/or pleasure. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is polite and professional. The Galleria is close by. You can walk to several shops or restaurants nearby. We've never had an issues.
- 1/5
Location was the only good thing about the stay. The carpet was filthy, elevator dirty, room couch was sticky and bed very uncomfortable. There was a terrible odor in hallway and room. Front desk attendant was rude in how she spoke to me at checkin and when I requested sheets and a comforter. Breakfast was fine and well managed. I paid $215 a night midweek. Not worth it.
- 5/5
I was very impressed and totally satisfied thank you Homewood we will be back
- 1/5
First and last time I’d stay here! Staff were very rude a simple good morning they wouldn’t even give us better yet a smile. Once we got our Suite we had a small kitchen and fridge, etc we noticed there were small roaches coming out from under the stove and fridge. I was so disappointed on booking this and staying here never have I stayed on a pricey hotel with rude people and still had to deal with roaches on our suite!!!!

- 4/5
We celebrated my daughter’s 8th birthday here. The staff was nice and friendly, the rooms are nice and clean. And the breakfast was great. I only gave 4 stars because the indoor pool was cold and that was the main reason for booking the room.
- 5/5
Clean spacious rooms. Great breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
- 1/5
General manager Tansha didn't do anything about my complaint except victim shame me.. Maintenance people kept flirting with me and trying to enter my room after hours without identifying themselves even though I had the do not disturb sign up. Food difficult to eat. Won't give you points if you don't book directly with them. Housekeeping staff seem to be overworked and underpaid.
- 4/5
The rooms need an upgrade/make-over on paint and cocking throughout the walls. What really flipped me out was the heavy smell of marijuana throughout the parking garage leading to the elevator and into the hotel lobby. Very disappointing in that.
- 3/5
We had to be moved to another room in the middle of the night because the hot water stopped working. Then I paid for late check out and the housekeeper bust through the door at 11 and woke us up. Other thank that the stay was okay
- 2/5
room smelled like smoke. gross. no sheets for pullout bed … after long day out had to go down to front desk to pick up. Two other people had to do same thing… that’s awful. You should have a set upstairs ready or bring them up or tell me at check in that I have to do that & I would’ve done it before bedtime. Loud road noise at 10p. After event, my mom went to her room. key didn’t work. Got a new key that didn’t work either. maintenance guy tried to let her into room, but it was locked from INSIDE, bc there are OTHER people in her room. We talk with front desk for 30-40 minutes bc they’re telling me I don’t have a 2nd room. “never checked in for 2nd room” tho I did check in 2x, paid ridiculous $$$ for 2 rooms, 2 nights. Finally figured out they checked us into someone else’s room at check-in! At checkout, they promised points for bad experience. I’d rather a comped night, & surprise, no points were ever given.

Yes real clean and nice.

Room was good. Breakfast was good. The one amenity that I wanted that I didn’t get was a pool. Leaving Upstate NY in the snowy season and going to Houston, TX where there is no snow. All i wanted was to swim. Worse part is that I called to make sure the pool was available.

Room wasn’t clean and had blood on sheets

I usual don’t leave many reviews but this hotel definitely deserves one I only stayed for 1 night and the hotel and the grounds were very well kept and clean. The room was in great condition, clean and perfect better than expected. I was undecided between 2 hotels in the area but I’m glad I came here. It was the kitchen that made me choose this one which was great. The complementary breakfast that was included was great it was a complete full breakfast that had bacon, eggs, oatmeal, fruits and the list goes on. The pool was open didn’t get a chance to use it but I’m a gym rat so I went there it was nice. Last but not least the customer service was on point they were very helpful and nice. On a 1-10 they are a 10 on the scale.
