Hampton Inn Houston-Near The Galleria

I've booked with Hampton Inn in 2 different cities and always loved it especially the breakfast.

I specifically requested a king-size bed and was given the option to select the actual room, which I selected and received confirmation for. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the room I had reserved was no longer available. When I went to the assigned room, I found that it had two full-size beds instead of the king-size bed I had requested. Had I known in advance that a king-size bed was not available, I would have chosen to stay with another hotel chain. I am disappointed that the confirmed room selection was not honored and that I was not notified of the change prior to my arrival.

The water in the shower was only lukewarm warm it didn’t get hot.

- Mini-fridge wasn't working (staff replaced it promptly). - Microwave emitted smoke (staff replaced it promptly). - Ice machine wasn't working. And the big one: - The bathroom door got stuck in a locked position and couldn't be opened. My 8-year-old was trapped in the bathroom for about 30 minutes while multiple staff members tried to get the door open with various tools. So, they clearly need to spend more on replacing old appliances and hardware. Otherwise, our stay was good. As mentioned, staff was great. Location was excellent and the breakfast buffet was good.

Its a place to rest your head. its ok. for the price in the area, it what your going to get.

comfy bed and clean room, most of staff was nice but one was very rude our shower never did get hot not even luke warm had to take cold showers. the pool was very dirty, gate key didnt work, had to call front desk every time, and one of the staff we talked to on saturday afternoon on 8/8/2026 to get in the gate was very rude and disrespectful

The room was very nice and clean. Had to adjust the AC believe it or not because it was extremely cold in the room when we arrived but overall wonderful stay. The breakfast is nice as well. Nice variety or options. Overall great stay.

It’s in quiet neighborhoods, closer to places we were going to. Breakfast is not that great. They said they will be charging $29.99 parking fee. Which was not mentioned during booking. Which got refunded later

Facilities worn and in need of upgrading. Security concerns. Breakfast was terrible. Noisy. Elevator stank of hydraulic oil. Duct tape holding down flooring in the main floor elevator lobby. Bathroom light needed re-lamping, tub stained. Hot water was dangerously hot, estimated to be at least 140 degrees. Bathroom sink had no stopper, open hole. vent fan in bathroom sounded like a vacuum cleaner. Hilton has no level of embarrassment in offering this facility to the public.

We stayed for 3 nights. It was clean and queit environment. Breakfast was good. Good staff and customer service. . I would come next time again.

WISH I READ 1/2 STAR REVIEWS….. came to Houston for funeral, booked 4 night, I paid extra for room with tub so I could wash my toddler and be safe. Front desk put us in another room and it also did not have tub. They offered to try to find room with tub in 2 days. I said that was unacceptable and wished for a partial refund since I did not get what i paid for. Front desk operations manager Aurora had the nastiest attitude when I asked like I wanted the money from her wallet. You would think a hotel who claims to care about customer satisfaction would see where they messed up and fix issue but nope. Sheets/pillows/towels reek of bleach. Doors to not close all the way, someone accidentally walked in my room because door doesn’t seal properly… bugs everywhere…. Expensive dirty hotel is what you will get here. Also be safe, dangerous characters are allowed to loiter around this building. Beware of fake reviews, they are working hard to stop people from seeing truth. Operations manager Aurora is also very rude and nasty attitude. GM Jacob Hundt still has not returned my call about this incident. Believe this property will take your money and give you poor service…. Beware.. spend your money somewhere else.

Air conditioning was incredible, the breakfast was good every single day, the staff was great; very friendly, Clean room; but only 2 things that triggered me were: 1/ housekeeper’s cleaning products odors like stink ( smell), and the bathroom’s stub waterless…

The breakfast options were good. Upon checking in we requested a room change and the staff happily assisted us.

Rooms and bathroom of most rooms need to be renovated. Very out dated, was forced to pay for parking when I didn’t use parking pass. Overall the stay was ok.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is in a great location. If you're picky about your coffee, there's a Starbucks across the street. Parking is easy.

Upon entering the room on the 6th floor, several issues were noted: the water pressure was inadequate, the ceiling appeared to show signs of a previous leak, and a significant accumulation of dust was present on the lamp and desk surfaces. Furthermore, the carpet appeared soiled, and the bathtub was unhygienic. Based on these observations, it is evident that this hotel is outdated, and I would not recommend it for accommodation.

The place was great except for one really important thing. The thermostat in my room had the occupancy sensor enabled during the night. The temperature in the room was fine when going to bed but within the hour it was hot and miserable. I talked to the front desk about the issue and she suggested turning the fan mode to "On." That didn't seem like a great solution but we did it anyway and it didn't fix the issue. The place is probably fine in the winter but if you want to sleep comfortably, beware.

We visited due to the World Cup Games. Everything was nice, the room, the service, the pool, the parking spaces. Even the entrance gave you a World Cup vibe which is what we were here for. I would definitely stay here again if I'm visiting Houston.

The property is definitely a budget hotel but for the price there was excellent service it was very clean and the breakfast was great.

I really liked the hotel. The bed was super comfortable, and the housekeeping staff were very efficient, cleaning my room every day. The reception staff were also very helpful. My intention was to stay longer, but the hotel doesn’t have a laundry machine.

Front desk staff were very friendly. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy. Property and room were clean. Free breakfast had a decent variety (better than most I’ve had before) and all was pretty fresh. Stayed there with kids for a night, it was nice and quiet- we felt safe. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was in a very good neighborhood. The Bkfst was great also, with coffee always available. The room with walk-in shower was very nice! They have available self parking, but charged parking fees because they could charge them, of $29.00, per night. I would have preferred a one time fee of a smaller amt, like $15.00. It was misleading! It was very close to the I-610, making it easy to get around.

Friendly staff. The room type I reserved wasn’t available when I arrived, so had to use the pullout sofa bed. 😡 Toilet wouldn’t flush. Had to summon maintenance twice. Room key wouldn’t open the gated parking. BUT, the staff let us manipulate the TV to watch the NBA playoffs in the lobby (pizza party style).

Smells like cigars when you walk in! Would not honor my Honor rewards! Not friendly! Breakfast was okay!

We were placed in room #139. Right across from housekeeping. I immediately went to the from desk to ask about the hours that housekeeping would leave for the day and come in in the morning, because I did not want to be awaken early in the morning. I was lied to and told they would not be in until 10am. Housekeeping staff showed up at 7:30am, loud, slamming doors and yelling in the hallway. They also charge $29 a day to park that was a shock to me. I will not stay here again.

The room was clean and the AC was cold!! Breakfast looked good but I only had time to grab a banana. The lady at the desk I think her name was Candace was very nice!

The location was very good for me- close to downtown and the galleria. The room was very clean, the a/c worked really well. The shower lever was very difficult to pull up. The breakfast had a wide variety(the waffles were really good, but not so for the eggs). I gave a 4 star because I had to pay for parking.

We enjoyed this hotel! We were only here for one night but it was a great spot. The location was good. The front desk staff were exceptional! The fitness room is small but had the necessities (Dumbbells and treadmill). The hotel always seemed clean and smelt clean as well. I didn’t have breakfast but it was free so that is a plus for some. I’d stay again.

The shower floor was extremely slippery and i fell landing on my tailbone andhitti g my head on the shower wall. There was no notice of it being this slippery. They must add some kind of product to reduce this problem. I was alone and 71 years old. This could have been devastating to my health.

Location is excellent, staff was delightful, room was clean. Only advice would be a refresh of the elevator wait areas and make sure ice machines work on all floors.
