Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences, with a majority leaning towards dissatisfaction. Common complaints include unclean rooms, poor maintenance, and inadequate amenities.
- Close proximity to medical centers
- Helpful and friendly staff
- Unclean rooms with reports of pests such as roaches and bed bugs
- Poor maintenance and outdated facilities
- 5/5
Had to change room. The smoke protector was beeping.
- 5/5
Was a little loudly in hall way and could have used more shampoo and shower gel instead of soap.
- 2/5
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, including pillows (which is unusual). A/C was on when I entered room, which was nice as the room was already cool. Pool was "closed for maintenance" and it looked like it had been closed/unmaintained for quite some time. Disappointing, as the reason I chose this hotel instead of another is the pool looked enjoyable in photos. Room did not have an ice bucket or glasses (or ANY kitchen equipment, although I did not need that) and a light bulb was burned out. Room key card would only work once. I had to get it re-programmed every single time I returned to the hotel.

There was a problem with our reservation the first night But the front desk took care of it the first thing the next morning Our stay was pleasant I’ll be staying there again

Jayson and Josh were helpful when we had issues with our room. However the first room A/C was not working and it was over 90 and humid outside so we asked for a room change. Unfortunately, the second room although cool, had a water leak and puddle of water under the a/c unit. We decided we didn’t want to try a 3rd room and asked for a refund, which Josh accommodated. Sorry I couldn’t give a better rating.
- 4/5
Lose to the NRG stadium and the train station. Pool. Vending machine. (Only one restaurant option close by). Noisy A/C. Not well maintained place unfortunately
- 2.5/5
Just okay Kitchen without utensils and when I need a coffee pot was broken, "Sorry, this all we have"
- 4/5
Good location, close to NRG Stadium, with easy access to the train to downtown. Very good value for a last-minute reservation. The property has a pool and vending machine. (only) one restaurant nearby, (shawarma). Our first room had several issues, including a broken shower handle and a sofa bed that was stuck in the open position. They eventually moved us to another room the following day. The room could have been cleaner, and the A/C was very noisy. Not that much facilities around the hotel except hospitals and train station (very useful btw)

The room was very clean, comfortable beds..the sleeper sofas could use a better mattress and cleaner linens but they will give you some if you ask for them. The staff is very friendly the property is clean over all we like staying here every time we come for appointments since it is close to all the hospitals
- 0.5/5
I was very unsatisfied with the condition of the room but the staff member at the front desk at check in was absolutely helpful and welcoming. Her name was Latany. She deserves 5 stars and needs a raise the hotel itself needs a lot of work love and renovations The room just looked worn down and unsuitable to sleep in

outdated equipment from the kitchen to the bedrooms. Compare to other cheaper hotels this one had the worse amenities.
- 1/5
The Halls are hot, ac doesn't see to work room is too cold, rugs old and stained of course nothing in the room that can be used to cook with. kItchen appliances are old cracked. Staff is very nice and helpful
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay. Not theblargest room but 3 of us moved without issue. No problem going back again.
- 1/5
Probably would never stay there again …loud barely working HVAC, limited tv options & breakfast was a basket of granola bars & muffins
- 3/5
Room had a stench bad..asked rep to change rooms, agreed to do so..next room smelled worse..just was a unpleasant experience, however we made it through.
- 5/5
The staff at this main stay was excellent!! Due to a fall and being a guest on her own, I ended up needing LOTS of help. I don’t ask for help lightly, so for the staff to recognize that I was struggling and insisting on me letting them help without asking, was a God send!!! There were about 5 different staff members who helped me at different times. They included a cleaning staff, maintenance staff, guest check-in person, along with 2 others whom I didn’t recognize their departments. Everyone went out of their way to provide help which prevented me from having to call an ambulance. Thank you all for going ABOVE & BEYOND!!!
- 2/5
Maintenance needs to be upgraded. Furniture had holes, cracks, and stains . Utilites need to be either upgraded or better cleaned . The shower knob and head was very wobbly Each level had a different strong odor . Staff was friendly was the only main positive .
- 1/5
shower door waas broken would not open. secondary side door into hotel from parking would not open, nothing in room regarding utensils, dishes, glasses, cups .cook ware
- 3/5
Poorly working amenities.
- 3/5
Locks on outer doors didn’t allow access from outside requiring a guest to go all the way around the building to enter through front door. My room was at opposite end of hallway. Television didn’t work for my entire stay of 12 days. A few packets of instant oatmeal on the counter isn’t breakfast. Most mornings there was nothing on the counter - just coffee.
- 5/5
My family and I really liked staying here during outline in Houston. The staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. The hotel wasn't too far from anything we wanted to do which was a plus. Only downside was the pool was out of service our entire 5 day trip, which really disappointed my kids; however, other than that everything was great. Will definitely stay again and I do recommend.
- 1/5
It was just a horrible experience we only stayed one night and ended up checking out the next day. But NEVER will I book this hotel again.
- 2/5
Room had used dirty plates under the beds. Pool was supposedly out of service. I went to get coffee at 9am and they were empty, I asked if they were going to refill and they said they didn't have anymore. The location of the hotel is great and safe.
- 1/5
The A/C in the room smelled musky every time it turned on. The room needed paint, new furniture and carpet; there was huge ripe in the recliner. The vinyl floor was coming up in 3 places. The hallway smelled like weed.
- 5/5
Good
- 1/5
This property is run down. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here because it’s close to MD Anderson. Both times the rooms were in need of an update, in need of paint, new furniture and carpet. The 2nd stay, our room smelled of mold and was very humid and musky when the A/C unit would turn on. The TV picture would go out while you watched TV. There were holes and rips in the recliner chair. This hotel advertises breakfast but it is a small basket with to-go items. Not worth $100/night.
- 2/5
If you don’t mind foul smells, this place is a great value. It’s pretty run down, and our room smelled like mold and rotten cabbage. We could not handle it and had to leave.
- 2/5
I reserved a king bed and when I arrived the only king room was dirty so they gave me a queen. The hallway smelled like mildew and I found a bug in my bed under the sheets that was unidentifiable. Staff was not friendly.
- 2/5
The best thing about this place was it was really close to our appointments. Other than that, if you need a bare minimum hotel at a fairly low price, this is your spot. But really , you’re better off staying elsewhere.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 2/5
Property needs an update. Doors were damaged and dirty. There were stains on the couch bed mattress. They charge to use the phone for local calls.
- 1/5
What made the experience even worse was the treatment I received from the front desk. A receptionist named Mercy was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When my key card failed to open the front entrance, instead of helping me resolve the issue, she screamed and yelled at me. No guest should ever be treated that way, especially over a problem that was not their fault. To top it all off, I found cockroaches in the kitchen area. Seeing roaches in a hotel room is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the property’s cleanliness and sanitation. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Management needs to address the cleanliness issues and provide proper customer service training to their staff. I will not be returning.
- 4/5
Clean room
- 2/5
The room was so dirty. As soon as you walk in it smells like pee and other foul smells. The pullout sofa bed was soiled and we weren’t able to sleep in from how dirty it was. The bathroom was the same the shower very poorly kept. The tv had a giant crack on it and did not work other than turning on. Will not be returning the place was very poorly maintained.
- 4/5
It was a nice place stay with plenty of room. Staff was friendly and it was in a good location.
- 1/5
You have to ask for a remote because they get stolen. Our door had been pried open and there was a huge gap. Room was dirty. When we asked for towels we were told we needed to exchange our used for new. No maid service at all and the bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept it. Only plus was proximity to the children's hospital. .5 stars
- 2/5
The room we stayed in had an area of damp carpeting. There was a dehumidifier placed in the room which added a noise element. Breakfast was low quality. Coffee was un-drinkable. No coffee maker provided in the room. Good proximity to medical facilities is one redeeming factor.
- 4/5
Hotel is certainly aging but it was clean. Staff isn't the friendliest but we didn't have any issues trat needed to be addresses. Room was large and clean. Would stay again if it's just 1-2 nights.
- 1/5
- 5/5
Clean and so close to the hospital you can't beat it!
- 1/5
The room was filthy, the fridge had three brown stains on the side, dead flys everywhere and the drawers had dead mosquitoes. There was an intense moldy smell. I only stayed one night and even that was too long a stay.
- 3/5
Location was perfect!!!! Close to train station and stadium
- 5/5
Very good for the price. We only stayed one night but the staff was fantastic!
- 2/5
Rude curt staff, refused to refill breakfast on the go items after they ran out. Useless vending machine. Avoid especially if you are traveling with small kids
- 4/5
It’s right by the medical district. There is a train station about 3-4 min away. Breakfast is only coffee, hot water, oatmeal, packaged muffins and cereal bars. We felt the neighborhood was safe. The room was spacious. Plenty of parking available. You have to request the pots and pans at the front desk. It’s close to Rice as well. There was a stain on the sheets. Otherwise it was a good stay.
- 2/5
The pull out bed from the couch had multiple dead cockroaches on it. Staff didn't have any replacement mattresses nor cots to use. For some other reason, they didn't have even a vacuum to use to clean things up visually. Light fixtures didn't have covers and often took up to a minute to turn on
- 4/5
It was a good stay for the price. The staff was nice, and the room was decent. However, it felt like it could have been swept better. There was also mold in the shower ceiling. I was too tired to say anything and was leaving the next day. However, this is definitely an issue that needs to be taken care of. Given that there is no ventilation in the bathroom, mold will most likely happen more often than not. So, please have your staff clean the shower ceilings with mold-removing cleaner and bleach. Other than that, it was a good stay and convenient for my needs.
- 1/5
Worst stay I’ve ever had. Room smelled horrible. The toilet and tv were broken. Room wasn’t fully cleaned. The front desk was no help and had no choice but to accept the room that smelled like a raccoon had died in there.
- 3/5
Nice property very convenient, but there was mold in the bathroom
- 2/5
The staff is great. Property management needs to refurbish this established. All furnishings are worn. Curtains are see thru. It's definitely budget but it ain't ballin on a budget. The budget needs to be reevaluate to allow some refurbishment.
- 2/5
No hot water
- 3/5
First off, the staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. This is a budget motel and you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean. The furniture is very worn out. The curtains in our room were thread bare. You could see through them. The fridge constantly made noise. The bathroom is micro size. It is very difficult to even get in and out of the bathroom due to its small size. The carpet in common areas is dirty and worn. The pool itself is clean. The landscaping is non existent. They only have five chairs and one umbrella for use. Luckily, all the guests when we visited were very nice and we all shared the limited number of chairs so us older folks had places to sit. It has not been maintained well and and maintenance is very shoddy. This location definitely needs an update. It would definitely increase business. Hopefully, tbe owners will be willing to pour some money in and refurbish this establishinment. It filled a need for us as we needed a place to stay close to MD Anderson that didn't break the bank. Next time we will probably break the bank to stay at a place a little nicer. Now we know!
- 1/5
We had two rooms in the 3 days we were there. Both rooms were disgusting. The worst was room 341. The walls were dirty. We could not use the couch or chairs because they were so dirty. The bathtub leaked and got the floor soaked. The caulking job was terrible. The bathtub felt like you could fall through it. The air unit kicked on in the middle of the night and woke us up because it smelt like nasty burnt pee. They did not come clean our room when I asked that they do at the front desk. The only thing available for breakfast was coffee, hot water and a basket of cereal bars. Being a hockey family we have been in many hotels and I have never experienced such uncleanliness. The staff was friendly and apologized but gave the excuse that they are an extended stay and only clean their rooms every 14 days! What?? Not acceptable.
- 2/5
Hallways smelled terrible. No creamer for the coffee, and to top it off no water to shower, brush teeth or flush toilets. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and clean.
- 4/5
The new owners have made great progress since our first stay here in March, and it’s clear they are putting a lot of effort into improving the property. One area that could benefit from a little more attention is the cleanliness of the rooms and laundry room. Because many guests are staying here while undergoing cancer treatment, having a clean and sanitary environment is especially important. I mention this simply because I know how much of a difference it can make and because it is such an important part of providing a comfortable stay for everyone.
- 5/5
Suites were clean & space was very adequate. Bed was comfortable. Staff at front desk, pleasant. The only complaint: Advertised as “Breakfast” included. Didn’t notice a cafeteria when we arrived. Only to find out that there was a small coffee bar with nutrigrain bars & sometimes small muffins. Coffee creamers not always available.
- 4/5
Nothing
- 1/5
Do recommend, hotel had a funky smell to it, the floor in the bathroom was pealing up. Stains on the carpet, tv screen was had a blue hazy.
- 2/5
The room bathroom was not bigger than a closet. Bed was fine. Compared to other options in the area you can do much better for the same price.
- 2/5
Unfortunately very old and run down. Would not return unless it’s updated
- 3/5
Room was nice and property was nice but my shower did not work! No matter how I tried to get it to work nothing would come out the shower nozzle! I only stayed the one night but would have been nice to have a hot shower
- 4/5
Needs juice and fruit for breakfast
- 5/5
Perfect place for my family and I to stay when one of us has an appointment at MD Anderson. Super affordable and extremely close to the appointment locations. Stayed there 4 times with out any issues.
- 3/5
The staff was helpful good parking
- 5/5
Caring staff members and very helpful staff members who have experienced
- 1/5
I had to leave early because the bed wasn't comfortable. I work in the medical center, and the front desk advised I would be refunded for the night's stay. They completely lied. I reached out to Hotels.com multiple times, and they also did nothing to fix the issue. I booked it based on false pictures because the hotel doesn't look nice on the inside. It smells in the building, especially in the elevator. The air conditioner in the room was leaking. I won't stay again.
- 5/5
Front desk receptionist was very helpful
- 3/5
The air conditioning was fine; as was the parking. The location was convenient to MD Anderson. The staff was polite and helpful which was much appreciated, given the other problems.
- 2/5
It put a roof over my head before my appointment, overpriced for the low quality it offers.
- 1/5
Blood stains on sofa
- 2/5
No breakfast which is advertised as included
- 5/5
This is a good hotel to stay at for visit at TExas Medical walking distance to MD Anderson half a mile
- 3/5
For the price and location in the Medical Center, you can't find a better deal. Staff are very helpful and nice. Parking is FREE! Threre are kitchenettes. And the rooms have walk-in showers! This is my go to hotel now when I have appointments at the Medical Center.
- 5/5
The hotel is very convenient to the Medical center, downtown and surrounding areas such as pearland and Sugarland. The staff was always available to answer questions. Shumalia who checked me in to the second part of stay was very kind and helpful. She was able to assist me nicely with my many questions. I highly recommend this hotel for its conscience and helpful staff.
- 2/5
The rooms look nothing like the pictures on the google page. The restroom in the room was cracked around the edges .
- 1/5
If there was zero stars I would give it. There were bedbugs in my room, molded around the shower missing fire smoke alarm. My room was moved and I found more bugs in the shower area. The health department needs to adore investigation there. The management over a one week stay gave me a $22 discount for my inconveniences. Extremely disappointing. No soap at all on site for any laundry, and the breakfast is nonexistent. The lady who serviced her around seemed very very nice, it appears management has restrictions on the amount of time they are allowed in each room to clean
- 5/5
The breakfast could have been a little bit more hardy.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staffing was very helpful. Coffee was very good.
- 5/5
Staff super mega friendly and accomodating. Clean property and neat room. Breakfast is limited to coffee and wrapped pastries...not hot, just grab and go.
- 2/5
Property needs serious physical repair. Floors were uneven, flooring in bathroom was separated from tub with flooring visibly decaying underneath it. Hallways were very poorly ventilated. Door to the room did not fit properly - it had to be lifted to get it to latch. Flip lock on the door had been forcibly removed or seriously damaged and loosely remuneration. Only saw 1 housekeeping staff member. She was pleasant and polite. From desk personnel were slow to respond to the desk. We will not stay here again.
- 3/5
Yes
- 4/5
Staff short handed yet super accommodating, friendly, and kept his cool. Easy to find parking on property, price and quality were aligned properly. Altogether a good night's rest and within walking distance to MD Anderson.
- 3/5
Refrigerator was not working. Was changed out day of request Shower head broken (from base) not able to hang. Was found on floor and not serviced.
- 1/5
I checked out soon after I checked in, so I did not stay the night at the property. Upon entering the room, I started to turn on lights - some worked, some didn’t. When I turned the light on in the combined closet/bath area, I was greeted by an unwanted guest. After showing the pic to the front desk clerk, Bri (sp?), she was very apologetic and kind in instructing me to follow up with hotels.com about my complaint.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 5/5
All was great!
- 3/5
Room could have been cleaner and needed hair dryer , coffee maker and extra clean sheets the minimum .
- 2/5
The hotel smelled HORRIBLE!!!!!!
- 4/5
Wish the breakfast was better. It would be nice to have juice and fruit.
- 4/5
Great place to stay when you have someone in the hospital.
- 1/5
Also these pictures were taken at night. The blinding light in the room
- 5/5
First time here and no issues.
- 5/5
Parking secure up front by office.
- 1/5
Room was moldy and old. A/C did not work. Staff very friendly. Hotels full so we could not change rooms. Wife had surgery at MD Anderson at 5:00 a.m. next morning. Neither of us able to sleep.
- 1/5
Our room did not have a chair to bath in & it was a handicap room. Our A/C was horrible… It would stay on for about 30 to 40 minutes then turn off. My husband had to get up & turn it on all night. Then when we got up at around 6am the A/C started to stay on. We were sweating all night. Then they said if we got the sheets dirty that they would charge us an extra fee. I will never stay here again
- 4/5
Love the pet friendly property
- 5/5
Quick check-in. Easy to check out when leaving.
- 3/5
Room waa decently clean. Stained wash rags, the ceiling in the shower appeared to be molded. In the hallway there was a hole in the wall that was tacked with a towel to semi cover it.
- 4/5
Everything was clean the only thing the shower tub I wish they had some sort of handle in the shower for getting in and out a little safer we are older people had knee surgeries and it would help seems like it’s a safety issue otherwise it was a pleasant stay for us one night.
- 3/5
Breakfast is incorrect or rather not what I assumed. It consisted of coffee, bagged oatmeal and small muffins.
