Our floor smelled of weed & coming into our room. Not pleasant at all of a stay but staff were nice and we enjoyed the pool.

Nothing is great about this hotel plus everything is you need to pay . Make sure find good parking spot they make more money in paid parking and selling banans for 4$

Fantastic experience

After a long flight, I spent approximately 45 minutes to an hour being moved between four different rooms because of serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. One room had an extremely dirty carpet with a large red stain and visible gum. Another, which I ultimately accepted because it was the best available option, had an audio speaker or smoke detector hanging loosely from the wall. An electrical closet next to the room also had duct tape wrapped around the doorknob to keep it closed. Another room had severely outdated furniture, a dirty carpet, and a strong unpleasant odor. The most concerning incident involved being directed into a suite that was occupied, where a maintenance employee was inside resetting the safe without any prior notification. This was extremely uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about guest privacy and security. The customer service was also disappointing. During my second visit to the front desk to request a room change, the representative initially responded in an aggressive and dismissive manner by asking, “What is it?” Although the tone changed afterward, that initial response was inappropriate and unprofessional. Despite being exhausted, I remained respectful and did not escalate the situation. I did, however, report these issues to the front desk before checking out.

Charles in maintenance was very helpful. Biggest issue was the parking, which was a nightmare, and needs to be addressed. I'm planning my return trip, for Dec. please address this matter.

Great stay

Very strong odour from the very used carpet on the hallways that was not acceptable. Besides the small face towels smells pretty bad. Breakfast for 3 cost 97 bucks, but selection is not good enough for that price. Local cafes is much more recommended if you want a nice cup of coffee to start the day. Only if there’ll be renovations, I will not return to this hotel.

Our stay was good , however the bed were not so comfortable. We woke up every morning with hip and back pains . Not to mention the parking was expensive. I’d think twice before I considered the Double tree again .

Hotel is in need of maintenance and upgrade. Our room had no hot water for the first day. There was mould on our bedroom ceiling, furniture was water damaged and carpets were stained.

The Staff is so friendly and accommodating. The area is nice, safe, lots of shopping and dining options. I'm not sure if my travels will bring me back through Houston again - but, if it does, I will definitely stay here again!

No breakfast included

Extremely responsive staff. Property is aging and rooms could be better maintained, but overall, it’s clean and a has a comfortable bed. There is an in room fridge and microwave which is helpful for longer stays.

I rarely complain about charges however while checking in the check in personnel told me about the amenities and the breakfast that was included. When I checked out there was a charge of $32 x2 for parking which I knew about and then a surprising charge of $37 for breakfast. Mind you I just got coffee and my 9 year old daughter got a waffle. I didn’t even let her eat because I wanted her to save her appetite for the delicious restaurant that Houston has to offer. Assuming that the breakfast was included I

The property is a bit dated and needs some touching up but it was a great stay overall.

Overall the hotel was fine. They do have issues with the elevators. It seems like a daily thing they go down. So if you're on the lower floors great but if you're on the upper floors. Good luck. The rooms could probably use a deep clean. There were stains in the carpet and couch. So OBVIOUSLY, I didn't sit on the couch. But beds were comfy no bed bugs thankfully. Also, the water coming from the sink stunk. Maybe it's just a Houston thing, not sure. But overall decent hotel. It's crazy that this is a double tree in my mind; I will say I expected a bit better. But the price for the hotel was reasonable.

Rooms were clean, all the staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok, but pricy. We didn’t do the bar. However there were no luggage carts available. Had to make multiple trips up and down from the 19th floor. Valet said that people check in and keep them in their rooms for them to use when they check out. But what about the other guests? So don’t plan on being able to use any at check out.

This was one of the most poorly managed hotels I've stayed at. The property is in serious need of maintenance, with peeling paint, worn finishes, and signs of neglect throughout. Unfortunately, the customer service was just as disappointing. Several staff members I interacted with were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, making an already poor experience even worse. There were so many issues during my stay that I couldn't possibly cover them all in one review. I would not recommend this hotel.

I love the the room it was spacious and the location was great. I did not like It was not clear that parking was extra cost and so was breakfast.

I was given a room that had mold in the bathroom. I mentioned it to the front desk, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The room looked ok, but you can tell that work had already been done to cover up the mold. Unfortunately, the work was not done incorrectly, and the mold was very visible. They stated they would handle the situation and give me a credit of some sort which they did, after I checked out. I didn't spend a lot of time in the room as I eft early and came back late. I hope they fix the issue so no one else is exposed to mold.

The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean and comfortable.

Hotel was nice, however initial room I was to check into smelled like Mildew. The staff was very helpful, and switched my room with no problems so that was a plus. I wish the bar was open later however. But overall good. I would come back again!

The sofa bed and dining room chairs are stained and look dirty. They need to be replaced. The mattress for the sofa bed is very thin and uncomfortable. Need to be replaced or provide a mattress topper for it. For the price of the rooms/suites, breakfast and self parking should be included.

I was disappointed with my stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Houston. While the check-in process was smooth and the front desk staff were friendly and professional throughout my visit, the overall condition of the hotel did not meet the standard I expect from a Hilton property. When my husband and I first entered our room, we immediately noticed a strong smell of insect spray, similar to Raid. After setting our belongings down, I went into the bathroom and found several roaches—one baby roach and what appeared to be two adult roaches. I immediately returned to the front desk, and the young lady working there promptly switched us to another room. The second room was somewhat better. The bathroom had been upgraded, and the room included a balcony. Unfortunately, the balcony was very dirty, and overgrown tree branches completely covered the windows and balcony area, making it impossible to enjoy or even use the space. It was obvious the landscaping had not been maintained. The following evening, we returned to our room only to discover that our room key would not unlock the door. I went back to the front desk to have it reprogrammed, but the new key didn't work either. After making a second trip downstairs, maintenance was sent to our room and determined that the battery in the door lock had failed and needed to be replaced. It felt like one problem after another during our stay. Overall, this hotel is in serious need of renovation and better maintenance.

this place is a must stay in the my city. i love the whitney the bartender on duty. will love renovations for the rooms better mirrors and a tad bit bigger bathrooms. cleaner industrial carpet and renovated the balconies por favor

It needs a lot of updating

- i stayed 5 days for dreamcon, was 20 - 30 mins away from Hobby Airport and about 20 mins w/o traffic from the convention center. this was my first time in Houston so it was great that i was in walking distance of a VARIETY of restaurants and stores! - easy parking, i usually keep house keeping out of my room until i leave or i need new towels. i didn’t use housekeeping this time so i can’t comment on their service. - i only approached staff about 3 times during my stay and each of them were very helpful, especially Michael. - didn’t use the pool or any other amenities during my stay however I would definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends!

Great place to stay

Cannot recommend this place. Room had problems; had to be moved to another one. Breakfast was not very good. Valet is $54/day. Some bad people staying there; they just drop their cigarettes wherever they like and do not properly dispose of them and then nobody cleans it up....that is nasty. Save your money and stay at any of the other many hotels right around that area instead.

Love staying here in the king suite with balcony the view is amazing at night. The bar is great has great house drinks. Pool is fantastic this hotel is really located in the perfect spot surrounding everything and anything you wanna do it’s close by

Everything was good, the receptionist was good , the only issue was room cleaning was delayed many days and would not happen if not asked by receptionist.and We couldn't take shower and be on time for our schedules!

First the whole 13 floor smelled like smoke all 4 days I was there. They never left towels in the bathroom we always had to call to get new towels. This whole stay was disappointing!!!!!

Hotel very outdated. Smells like old peoples’ home. Takes a few minutes for hot water in shower, faucet at sink always hot. Slow flush toilet. Have to hold down toilet lever to make sure toilet flushes complete. Ac turns on and off randomly. Room stayed warm at 77 degrees when set to Auto, cool down when turn fan to low, but it didn’t get below 70 until the next day. Elevators service is very slow, as if one of four takes turn working. I’ve stayed at a 3 star hotel that was in better condition than this one. As far as staff, Top notch!!!

This property was absolutely hideous. When you walk in the lobby is beautiful and very misleading. Because once you get into the room, you will discover that the hotel is extremely outdated. The furniture was soiled, the tub in the bathroom had stains in it as well as the toilet, and the bed skirts was stained. It was so horrible that I requested a refund to leave however, the staff was very kind. They did try to accommodate me and move me to two different rooms however, those rooms were also not in good conditionand contained soiled furniture as well. This property needs major renovations of their rooms and updated furniture. The halls also have a very old mildew smell to them.

The Front Desk and Housekeeping staff were wonderful and helpful as needed. The rooms were clean, at least on the surface and we had a small issue that was resolved once reported with makeup on a towel and gum on our floor (as if someone just spit their gum out onto the floor near the couch, not imbedded in carpet - probably from the last guests smh), and considering the amount of rooms in this hotel to service during an extremely busy weekend (DreamCon + a big wedding), this was resolved easily and expeditiously. We gave housekeeping 30 minutes to clean our rooms and they did a great job! By the way, it helps to be kind to staff and they will likely be kind in return. I think because I was understanding and didn't have a wack attitude, they were immediately attentive to my requests (Golden Rule!). Everyone was very nice and professional. This hotel is in walking distance to the Galleria mall and a 6 minute drive to the Food Truck Park which we went to 3x during our stay! There are other restaurants that are open late in walking distance or within a 10-minute drive. I would absolutely stay here again!

As a woman solo traveler I felt very safe!

Parking was way too pricey for the quality of the rooms. The rooms said “remodeled” but they still looked dated. Other than this, I stay was fine.

Great hotel by the Galleria! Room was very big with a kitchenette and provided the room we needed for our family of 4. Every staff member we encountered were friendly and provided wonderful service!

The hotel was clean and vey accommodating. Parking can be a little tricky in and out of the hotel but manageable. Male hostess was vey nice and welcoming.

Location was very convenient for me. It was easy to get to and from my events. This isn't my first time staying here. The room I had did not have an iron. I notified the front staff of this. I was told I would be given one. An iron was never provided for me. Overall, it's not a big deal, but I don't like being told something and it doesn't happen

The location is nice. It is not far from restaurants and things to do. The toilet was running every 5-10mins. My towels were dirty. The balcony was not the most pleasant view. Valet phone was down. The breakfast buffet was a little chaotic, not enough workers.
