Courtyard by Marriott Houston Westchase

Very poorly maintained facility. First rooms have dirty carpets and dated and dirty light fixtures and ac unit. 1st floor hallway smelled bad, the first room we were put in on the first floor smelled of cigarette smoke, HEAVILY, they changed us to a room on the 2nd floor and it was dirty smelled of dust and mildew. There was black stains and water and something that looked like mold on the wall near the ac unit. The elevators did not work. But the staff were all very friendly, that was the only positive. We ended up leaving the hotel the same day we checked in for something cleaner.

First of all the building has no air it was hot as hell in the hallways and the elevator felt like 1000 degrees ..my sheets were popped meaning they weren’t changed and I kno this because I did housekeeping for courtyard before I was a housekeeper and I know what popped sheets look like it was hair on my sheets top cover and the pillowcases ..no head board..had hair n the tub and the shower wall water pressure was low air in the room was room temp feeling it wasn’t cold ..the breakfast wasn’t our staff told me courtyard don’t do comp.breakfast and ago I used to do housekeeping so I kno they do there cook must wasn’t there today ..my stay was horrible I could’ve stayed home ..I thought I was go enjoy the get away but I didn’t i actually regret spending money on this hotel I’m very upset won’t be coming or recommending anyone to this place .ugh

The hotel is old, and the room we stayed in was very old. The paint, the bathroom, and the floor were old and dirty. The room service person didn't clean the toilet every day, they cleaned the bathroom, and changed the towels but didn't clean the toilet 😑.will not come back to and book this location anymore. I always like Marriott hotels, but my experience wasn't comfortable with this location. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the hotel is OLD, needs to replace the bathtub, and needs remodeling.

Deadbolt in room 115 does not work. Probably needs to be oiled up or replaced.

Bargain hotel good for the price. Cold room and comfortable beds just an older building that may need some remodeling with bathrooms and pool.

Room was clean, staff very friendly and facilities in good shape. Not a luxury hotel but just right for the price. Location next to a grocery store is wonderful!

We had booked a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. While the room size was adequate, the overall cleanliness and condition left a lot to be desired. The room was quite dusty, and there was a strong musty smell that resembled black mold. The toilet was not properly cleaned, which was concerning from a hygiene standpoint. The bathroom also showed significant wear and tear. The bathtub was old, with the lining peeling and coming off in several places, making it look unclean and poorly maintained. The soap provided was of poor quality and did not meet the standard we expected from a Marriott property. Another disappointment was that there was no complimentary breakfast. For the price paid, the overall experience did not reflect the quality we associate with the Marriott brand. Since we only stayed for one night, we managed, but we would not choose to stay at this property again unless significant improvements are made to the cleanliness, maintenance, and guest experience.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the pleasantries end there for this hotel. Two different bugs were seen in the room within 20 minutes, the paint was peeling up from the tub, the couch had stains on it, and so on. At midnight, after driving 11 hrs with my kid, I had to gather my things quickly and leave. Marriott let me down. Turned a long day into an even longer night trying to find another room.

I also found a hair in the shower before getting in the first time. The property was loud, and I could hear the neighbors playing music. The hallways were extremely hot, which I was worried for the housekeepers and staff.

There were some issues with the phones in the room and AC unit(warm for most of the stay). However the staff were great and very responsive. Would stay there again. Super convenient for the WC match!

Mrs.Tammy was wonderful!!! She got us squared she helped me to register with the company to earn points and rewards. She helped us to get squared away the next day to a new room to accommodate my mom’s needs. The chef was wonderful and the staff was wonderful and kind. We will be back

Get elevator fixed other then that it was a nice & clean stay

Property was pretty clean and the staff was really nice. However, we were out all day and our room was not cleaned, no beds made or given new towels. The lobby area is really nice how we the rooms and pool can really use an update! We were there for the World Cup and loved how they decorated the lobby for it! Originally I was as supposed to pay $800 for 2 nights but found the same room for only $375. I would have probably been very upset to get to that hotel for $800 for t o nights in old not have been worth it!

The 1st night was marred by noisy neighbors up late and then the fire alarm at 6:30 am. I moved rooms. The 2nd nights sleep ruined again by the fire alarm at same time, blaring for 10 or 15 minutes!

Our room was on the second floor but the elevator was not working . The manager helped us with carrying the luggage to our room . Next morning the shower didn't work , we called the manager who thankfully sent maintanace to put a new faucet . I believe if house cleaning reported this problem the day before we wouldn't have to wait . The Bistro was not open too but Kroger was across the street & we had to go there for breakfast .

AC was great and I did not get to try out breakfast! Front of house staff was excellent in the evening and morning! Even if the elevator was out of order it was good to get some exercise!

The room was OK. There was a big roach bug in the room that my husband had to kill. I wanted to switch rooms but we were late for a concert. That made me uneasy to be honest

I went to check in. The gentleman at the front desk was telling me the room is going to be $270. I told him I already paid online. He kept trying to charge me. Convinced me to cancel my reservation. But I know I wouldn't get a refund. I called Expedia and they were able to help me. But at this point I did not want to return. And wil never return.

We arrived at the facility at 4pm even though check-itime was 3pm. When it was my turn at desk i was told that my room was not available when asked when it would be ready he replied I dont know and told me to get out the line. We sat in lobby about 30 minutes before being let know room was ready. When we get to room bathtub was filthy and had rust in it. Went back down to let Patrick know and if we could be placed in another room. He stated there were no more rooms available and that he would srnd housekeeper back to room. I asked to speak with manager and he said ok. We sat in lobby an addiitional 20 minutes and i proceeded to go back to desk to ask if the manager would be there soon. He then stated oh oh im sorry I'll get her now. He then said i could go look at another room and im looking dumbfounded because he had just prior told me there were no rooms available. Ice machine on 2nd floor where we we placed didnt work and wasnt aware that the rooms did not have a microwave so we had to go to first floor and stand in line to heat food. Also people were being told elevator on other was not in service and they had to carry their luggage up the stairs. No apologies were given and Mr Patrick never had an answer or solution for anything just shrugged his shoulders like I cant help you. I never got to speak with manager at all. I have never experienced this kind of service.

The room I was given originally at check in had not been made up bed was not made and iron and board were out and tv was on like if someone was shot here but told attendant and he proceeded to give us another room which was satisfactory

Extended for a second day, but hotel never picked up trash or brought clean towels or made the bed for our next day stay.

I made a reservation 2-3 days before we arrived to this hotel. After a long day of traveling, we made it to the hotel around 11:30 pm and the front desk staff informed us that there were no rooms clean and we’d have to wait. Extremely frustrating when their check out time is 11 AM and we arrived 12.5 hours after that.. keep in mind, they also knew we were coming. Finally got a room on the third floor.. and then we found out the elevator was broken. We get up to the third floor and two cleaning ladies are standing in the hallway on their phones and scramble into the rooms once they see us. The room itself was hot, there was water damage on decor, and things were rusted over. I do not recommend this hotel.

When I arrived in my room, several issues were immediately apparent. The phone in the room did not work, the carpet was ripped, and the floors were stained and appeared very dirty to the point that I did not feel comfortable walking on them. The bed looked messy and did not appear properly prepared. In the bathroom, there was hair on the walls, which was very concerning from a cleanliness and sanitation standpoint. Overall, the room was in unacceptable condition and clearly had not been properly cleaned or maintained prior to my arrival.

Decent place, everything was just LOUD though. Loud clientele, loud A/C, loud cars outside. Hard to sleep.

Light wasn’t working at the entrance of the room. Complained and was told someone will come take a look, but nobody showed up. Found a cockroach at the door on the second day and informed staff at the front desk.

Everything was exceptional. We will come back again.

One of the gates to the parking lot was inoperable and a door to enter the hotel from the side had some issues that was annoying.

Some staff members where unprofessional, room not up to code, beds are old and has existing issues and are covered up with sheets . Property isn’t maintained and services aren’t customer friendly. No shower mat to prevent falls, room wasn’t cleaned well. Some staff where professional and some wasn’t professional and would gossip about guest or follow them around. The staff and some mangers need better training and guidance, and better accommodation for others who don’t speak Spanish and show more respect to guess and have better customer service skills. Lack of training it shows with the way they behave and act very unprofessional. Overall I may not book with them again if this issues aren’t corrected
