Courtyard by Marriott Houston by the Galleria

The hotel is currently going under construction. Had we known that. We wouldn't have stayed here. We heard pounding after 5pm on a weekend. Didn't have hand soap or batteries for the tv remote. Whoever was in the room next door kept trying to get inside our room.

The hotel is in terrible need for an overhaul. Terrible smell in the rooms hallways and elevators. Old beat up bathroom and outdated electronic no usb ports in the rooms. It honestly felt like a truck stop budget motel and not a Marriott property

The property was under renovation, with many workers on site, and the elevators were frequently being used by the construction crew. The room was also not cleaned every day.

Hotel good but so many extra charges

Cleaning is every other day which is ok but they never cleaned.I had to ask for clean towels. The bathroom lighting is very dull and eas hard for me to do makeup and hair. Place needs renovations, the outlets needed repairs.

I had reserved with expedia and then paid in the hotel they took my credit card money again so I paid 2 times and they didn't solve anything, I'm waiting for the bank

I had the build your own omelet and it was quite tasty. Not a free breakfast but for $10 it was pretty good. Wish the Starbucks was open after 10am... maybe till noon.

The hotel is well located but it seems old. The staff was nice, only the guy in the breakfast or coffee station that was rude and seemed off. The pillows and towels were smelly and had to ask them to change them. Thought it was going to be a better experience.

The staff was very accommodating we checked in late and the representative that was there. Make sure that we had everything that we needed. She was very nice. Make sure we could get in and out of the parking garage. Everybody was so nice and accommodating one of the attendees even tied my dress for me. This is an amazing hotel.

Pleasant

Location was perfect. Rooms were clean. The staff was very helpful and kind in person. However, tried to reach them by phone multiple times before check-in, and never picked up. Once in the hotel, I tried to reach them by phone again to get more towels and they didnt pick up. I had to go downstairs to ask for more towels, which were sent to my room 3hrs later.

Staff Age of hotel and rugs

parking was supposed to be $25 but i was charged $50 when i arrived. i asked the front desk lady why i was charged and she tells me its $25 per night. i told her i was only staying one night. she said "oh it's for security" so two completely different things. then hours later i was charged an additional $30 on top of the $50. i go back to the front and i ask a different person about the issue. he says it is $25 but they always tack on an extra $50 "for security" would have been nice to know this upon arrival. i was told i would receive the extra $50 back within 2-3 business days. so i'm hoping that is true.

When the room was reserve I had no idea a parking charge was charge atb the end of my checkout. Can it please be notified to whom it reserves a room.

Staff was super supportive and helpful. Both Vani and Rudy went above and beyond. We will definitely be staying at this property in the future.

The staff at this hotel were by far the friendliest and most professional staff I have encountered at a hotel. The maintenance and housekeeping staff were also incredibly courteous and helpful. Overall it was an outstanding facility and experience.

Nice hotel for the price. Best part is that it is very close to the galleria mall. Walking distance is about 5-10 mins. The hot water gets very hot which is a good thing. The toilet had a very slow and weak flush. The pillows were very deflated and flat. Really close to the conservatory which is a nice place to chill and grab a bite to eat from a variety of food restaurants, definitely check that out, and the galleria mall. Really good bang for your buck. But If you are looking for a more luxury stay pay a bite more and check nearby.

It was pretty old. I asked for towels after they did not service my room. I had to keep asking 4times till finally called at 6pm and got towels. Room was never serviced

This is my 2nd stay here, and it's a great hotel. Nice, comfortable, clean rooms. It's right next to the huge Galleria Mall for excellent shopping and eating, and easy to get around the city using rideshare.

Clean Room

Everything was perfect the entire time me and my family were there! I would for for stay there again.

The only amenities we used outside of our room were parking and the pool. The pool while obviously older seemed well kept and was in a nice quite area of the hotel. The parking garage can be stressful when packed and cars are coming back and forth but that's not on the hotel, that's just on people driving 60 in a parking garage. Overall the room was PERFECT. It was clean, the AC worked perfect, we had a great view, the shower (water pressure was nice), and the beds were a nice firmness. Also everyone who was on staff during our stay was AWESOME and so flipping helpful

OK hotel, near Galleria, well located.

Room was ok. Plenty of space. Bathroom grout was dirty, otherwise room was ok. This hotel had a strong perfume sprayed in the lobby areas that gave me a headache.

Everything was as advertised.

The AC is very noisy. You can’t have a better sleep here. Stay somewhere else.

Called ahead and was assured the parking fee would be waved ($50+). It was not. There was no legitimate breakfast after advertising a "Bistro". No bar but advertised "cocktails" Gym equipment from the 90s... I could go on. Overall terrible place to stay in the Galleria area.

I booked two queens and they only had a room with a king. Then when I returned to my room I found my door propped open and unlocked

Windows were very dirty with fungus, no body cream or hair dryer in the room, when I tried to contact the lobby from the room, it never rang.

What was most bothersome was the constant beeping in the reception and adjoining lounge area. The receptionists said they couldnt disarm it.

Long trip there and i had to sit almost 2 hours in the lobby to wait for my room. I was in the wrong room,refused to put me in a king size it was only me. This stay just was very aggravating to me. Nice place to stay but.

Wonderful staff, clean and updated hotel near the Galleria. I was so impressed with my stay for the past four days.

Follow-up from my previous review of 1. I spoke with a supervisor and they told me that the shower situation was completely unacceptable and took some very generous measures to rectify the situation. They also followed up with a phone call and asked me if there was anything else they could do. I truly appreciated the gesture.

The shower valve would not release so I couldn't take a shower. Front desk couldn't tell me why they would put a customer in a room without a working shower. I was told that maintenance was on a call and that the best they could do was extend my check out time two hours. I was told to "call back" to see where I was in the queue. Simply awful. customer service. No offer of credit, no offer to move me to another room to shower. Nothing. Just wait. Unacceptable.

Not used the business facility or parking

I didn’t like the fact the breakfast was very very limited. Pre cooked and warmed up is not what I was expecting. Very disappointing

We were told that someone will come in the morning for the service. No one came. Also shower fell was empty. It was not checked before we checked in and had hassle for us.

Food in coffee shop is mediocre

Overall the property was conveniently located and the staff was very friendly. Housekeeping staff could use some help, as there was a resaurant cup in the fridge and long black hairs in several locations in the bathroom.

Nice place but no buffet breakfast

The frond desk dude was super rude on arrival. Never in my life will i ever stay at this hotel again. My son kept hitting his head on the headboard. having to pay for parking makes no sense

This was my first stay at the property while visiting Houston. I normally stay at Hotel Derek but this has become my new favorite place. The staff was very professional and friendly and didn’t hesitate assisting when asked. My children and I really enjoyed our stay. Even though it was only one night, we look forward to our next time there.

When I asked for a copy

Everything is nice here and i was thinking bout coming back on my next stay but i get back to my room and all my medication from the dentist is gone. Im very upset because i asked for no service since i been here and came back to a clean room and all my medication is gone. Im very hurt by not having my medicine im in so much pain. Looks like to me no one at front desk cares..very nice and peaceful. Just needed my medicine and its gone

Elevator in parking garage

Because we were coming from the flooded area of Central Texas, I bought insurance for each of us in case of problems traveling. I DID cancel the reservation from July 12 - 15, as we DID have major traveling problems.

Our third stay here, we love it! This property has been our go to for my husband's orthopedic visits in Houston. Very nice hotel and the staff and customer service are wonderful!

The hotel and staff were absolutely wonderful! Room was clean and comfortable. The only single issue was the parking garage had a weird smell. Overall I would stay here again.

very expensive and no amenities , no breakfast , no water

The property isn’t worth the price and needs a remodel or a really good clean. The carpets were filthy. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and there was water ring stains on the nightstands. The house cleaners could do a more thorough job overall. There was also either a kids sporting event or family reunion there the weekend we were there, there were kids everywhere running up and down the halls and playing in the elevators all weekend. The front desk staff didn’t say a word. Will never stay here again.

The room wasn't ready at 3pm check-in. It wasnt until an hour later the room was ready. This made me change my plans for the evening, which wasn't good. I wasnt offered any type of discount or anything.

Got to the hotel around 3:25 to star my check in when I get there they told me they were no rooms available at the moment so I need to wait for 20 minutes or so !! Wait for 1 hour and 45 minutes on the lobby to finally get my room I wasn’t the only one with the same issue!! They need to wok Berger in logistic and gave real customer service to the guest !!! I drove for 4 hours and it’s not fair for us to wait for a room when the hotel took my money right away !!
