Cambria Hotel Houston Downtown Convention Center

The hotel was under renovation but could hardly tell on the inside. From checking in to entering our room was seamless. No dust, no detours, no hassles. The only bad thing was that the valet app didn't work so it took a little more time to retrieve our vehicle. Our room was spacious, nice view of the city. AC worked perfectly for it being a hot day in Houston. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our two night stay. It was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly. It was also very convenient to Daikin Park. We’d stay here again!

Room decor was beautiful window view amenities and bed very comfortable. Breakfast a little pricey , but food was very good . Definitely will be returning

Blinds were broken, TV kept having issues. AC was out for the whole 16th floor, none of us were notified about it. It was 81 degrees in the room.

I had a great time at the Cambria. The room was clean as well as the other facilities. It was close to a lot of places and attractions. I’ll definitely stay here again. Thank you Cambria for a great stay :)

Everything was good except the bathroom barn style door was loose and came off the rail when i opened it. Luckily no one was in front of it.

The rooms We had to wait for our rooms! Check in was at 3, we got our hotel room later because there was slot of people waiting! We got there and the bedsheets were dirty! This man brought us new bedding sheets but he didn’t even change them, he expected for us to do it even though WE paid for a room in that hotel, I felt like he should’ve done it!

It was great near everything I was going to but there was some construction going on that was loud in the morning

Clean rooms, nice hotel. There was a $60 parking fee that we didn’t see advertised well. They are remodeling, but it didn’t bother our stay.

Overall really enjoyed our stay here! Our room was very clean and massive for the price. The hotel staff were super friendly and welcoming. The construction that is going on currently didn’t really affect our stay at all.

Will eventually be nice, but undergoing construction at present. Good location for attending Astro games.

The location for going to the ballpark was great! The front desk staff & the restaurant staff were friendly & very efficient. Our room was more spacious than most other hotels. The arrival, unloading our luggage, & handing off our car for valet was chaotic & no carts were available.

The towels stunk. There was construction going on the building we were unaware of. The toilet was not working very good. The a/c had a timer that was set to go off after so many few hours so we’d wake up hot a few times.

Keurig didn’t work in room. No free parking. Tub could have been cleaner. Staff had no cash so I could break a $10 bill for a tip. But overall the staff was very friendly.

I slept very comfortably, the bed was soft, cozy and the pillows were comfortable. Coffee was good. The customer service was awesome. Free breakfast could have completed the whole stay.

Location was great, especially if you need to get to Daikin field which is only a few blocks away. For a room with 2 queen beds and therefore probably at least 2 guests, it's a very strange choice to go with a "barn door" that doesn't fully close for the washroom in terms of privacy.

Stayed for the Astros game and easy walk to the stadium. Valet was a but expensive for one night but I suppose just being near the venue would cost a lot. Overall happy with our stay.

The Hotel looks like it is perpetually under construction. There is scaffolding around the building all the time. I was informed it's been there for 6 years. The rooms are nice and appear to have been renovated recently. Hotel's location is great as it's only a short walk to the stadium if you're going to the Astros game. Hotel's checkout process needs some attention. No luggage carts available, locked out of room even though 1 hour late checkout was requested and approved. Was sent by staff to first floor to find a luggage cart. 1st floor staff sent me to 2nd floor to find a cart. Asked the desk, and they said they are probably all be used at this time, after running me around looking

I wasn't aware that there was no on-location free parking. There is a valet and if you don't want it, you're free to park anywhere else. The staff was friendly and courteous, even the valet. They're in the process of remodeling, so it doesn't look very appealing. But the room was nice and clean. The only inconvenience was the valet parking.

Under construction and not all the elevators were working. Close to ballpark which is reason for booking. Barn doors on the bathrooms not a great choice. Lacking privacy and very heavy/cumbersome to open and close. Overall I would stay here again.

We didn’t get our originally booked room the first night, had to settle for a king but we were given complimentary drinks from the bar for the downgrade. And the next day we were given our double queen room.

We stayed during a time where there was a nerby, sold out concert so the hotel was at capacity. The hotel did not staff the hotel with enough staff, knowing they were at scarcity. We were not able to leave the hotel until 1:00 because we had to wait on luggage carts and for our car to be retrieved from valet.

We enjoyed our room and the location of the property however, only two of the five elevators were working and we stayed here for an event so you could imagine how bad it was trying to get to our room after the event and during checkout, we thought valet parking was great up until check out when there was crowds of people waiting for their car the wait was at least 20 to 30 minutes to get our car! (The valet staff were super nice and helpful however they do need MORE STAFF on event nights/ morning after!!!!!!) if you decide to stay here, I would consider parking elsewhere as valet is $60 A NIGHT

We arrived to check in at 4:00 pm the check in is at 3:00 pm and the room was not ready they stated it would be another 20 minutes. If you park in there hotel you must do valet parking and I did after an hour my car was still not available. They did not give me the keys to retrieve my car because the car is not parked at the hotel parking lot

Hard to find parking when not using vallet

Room was clean and quiet, AC was nice and cold. My room type was not available upon check in. I received the difference and a downgraded room, as well as a couple free drinks at the bar. While not a suite, it was a nice room and I still got a great rate. Lobby bar is nice in the evenings. Overall great stay for the money.

Room could’ve been cleaner and smell fresher. Staff was okay but dry, everyone seemed tired and worn out. For the amount I paid for a one night stay I could’ve gotten a lot better. Plus the parking was horrible. They had valet but you could barely get to the front of the hotel because the hotel is in the middle of a busy street and the front entrance has construction going on. Also the valet parking was in a sketchy looking parking lot on side the hotel with a huge sign that said they wouldn’t be responsible for your car being broken into.

I contacted the hotel immediately. The front desk staff tried to help, but the manager refused to take my call, never returned my messages, and would not respond despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue. Ultimately, I had to dispute the charge through my bank. To make matters worse, I needed to store my luggage at the front desk for about an hour after checkout and was charged $35. I've stayed at many hotels and have never been charged simply to hold my bags for a short period. Based on my experience with the billing issues, lack of management response, and unexpected fees, I would not stay here again. There are plenty of other excellent hotel options in Houston.

Janáe at the front desk was absolutely amazing… she was so patient with me when my card was having issues. Room was amazing… the bed was comfortable and the pillows were great, the thing my son liked the most was the mirror in the bathroom had Bluetooth connectivity.

This is my favorite hotel for doing business in Houston. Reasonably priced. Has a really cool "vibe". I like that it's a historical building with fun nods to the past like the mail chutes that they left in place next to the elevators. It's a perfect distance to the convention center so that I have a nice little walk (less than ten minutes) before the convention. I usually hit Common Grounds coffee shop on my way there.

Perfect location for seeing a MLB game

My son and I stayed two nights during the World Cup. Location is good and walkable to the FIFA fan fest. Room was fine and had everything we needed. It’s a great middle tier hotel and good value for the cost. We had breakfast one morning and it was good. Friendly staff. No complaints.

I cannot brag on this hotel enough. This is a five star hotel at very reasonable rates. Perfect downtown location walkable to convention center, Astro Stadium, Irma’s Southwest Restaurant across the street was excellent, lots of hotels in walking range. I felt totally safe in this location. Staff from front desk, to valet workers to restaurant waiter to maids, excellent! We have never been to a hotel where we were 120 percent satisfied until the Cambria! Highly recommend.

Worst water pressure I have ever experienced in a hotel.

The property is going through renovations because its an older building but do not let that stop you from staying here. This building is beautiful and the rooms are modernly luxurious for a great price. I had a great city view too! The staff made themselves so readily available, and they interacted with each other joyfully- not pretend. Thank you also to the valet Yemi, for his assistance. I had a late check-in and I felt very safe. Also, the location is fully surrounded by several restaurants and cafe options within good clear walking distance.

3 stars due to renovation and the closure of some of the areas.

A lot of unexpected fees suite room 1800 was super clean the shower kind of sucks don't put your clothes next to it because there's no door to actually close the shower no place to hang a towel, wash rag or your scrubber the valet park is a little ridiculous. And also take into consideration that this hotel is under construction but with him doing construction it did not bother us at all. And we seen so many people 6 to be exact that couldn't find check in the registration is on the 2nd level. And remember keep your key cards out you can't move up and down the elevator without it.

I didn’t get the name of the young woman who assisted us while checking in but she was more than helpful, there was a special request I had made that was taken care of after me and my wife left the room. She did a great job! Everything was perfect.

Nice and clean hotel downtown Houston. Close distance to the stadiums and concert venues. I enjoyed the bar/restaurant area they had. I’ll be back again.

Very unpleasant stay. The "security" was extremely rude when I asked for help. He was on his phone while I spoke to and ignored my presence and concern. I was unable to check out after waiting for 30 minutes while the front desk was "in the bathroom". The room floor was not cleaned, various items on the floor.

Staff was nice and helpful. Room and common areas were clean. The A/C in our room was fantastic. Elevators were SLOW, and seemed to stop and go where they wanted, despite what buttons were pushed. The bar and little snack area were definitely overpriced, even for a hotel in downtown Houston. Valet service was great, fast and friendly, but again, expensive.

The hotel was on close proximity to many restaurants and local area attractions. The onsite restaurant was limited in its offering which wasn’t a big deal because of the hotel location.

The rooms were decently clean but had areas that were missed during cleaning. The valet staff was nice but every interaction we had with the front staff was awkward / unhelpful. There was also construction on the building that blocked the parking area and we were not made aware of where to bring our car so at one point we were unable to get back to our room. We were also told we could park our car for free however after parking we were told we could not park our own car and instead had to pay $60/night for Valet. Overall it was a decent stay but next trip we will look for somewhere else.
