Reviews
The hotel is in a prime location, with many guests appreciating its proximity to various events and attractions. However, the property is in dire need of renovation and maintenance, with numerous complaints about mold, mildew, and unpleasant smells. The breakfast is a highlight, but the overall condition of the hotel is a major concern.

Room was clean, staff was helpful. It was recently remodeled, nice stay. Water pressure wasn’t the greatest
- 3/5
It was okay besides the construction

The pool was nice and warm but the hot tub was like barely lukewarm and running. I don't know what the deal was. The Best Western Premiere should have free complimentary breakfast not something you have to pay for. But I know that's how the whole operation works. Plus we were charged $95 from August 2nd to the 4th and we don't know what it is cuz we checked out on the 3rd. Plus the fact that we had to pay $100 a night for parking in a small parking lot which is ridiculous!!

Drove in from Tuscaloosa Alabama so my son can apply for his Visa to go overseas to play basketball. Ahmed was awesome. From checking me in and giving me the pros on downtown Houston. Much love from Alabama Ahmed. Next time I come back I will definitely stay here!!! ❤️

Everything was amazing! Bed was super comfy! AC worked stupendously and the staff were super helpful That I had to leave
- 5/5
Clean rooms, nice amenities and close to everything downtown.

It says parking is included. It means the parking lot is included you still have to pay for it.

Construction going on around and parking was not free as stated.
- 1/5
First off, booking online says that there is free parking however, once we arrived we were told there was a $20 fee that’s not updated on the website yet. The only reason we booked at this hotel was because of the free parking, we had an event nearby that we were attending. There is construction being done in the area and it’s just one big mess! There’s also this huge pothole when entering the parking area. Your car will feel it if you don’t see it in time. Room was not very clean when we arrived, carpet was missing on the corners of the room and the restroom didn’t look like it was cleaned very well either. Also, there was loud music being played all night and all the traffic noise will keep you up all night. I was so glad when it was time to check out.

Friendly staff. Quiet property Pillow was huge and made it uncomfortable when sleeping .

We felt very safe at the property. The rooms were clean & spacious. The staff were very helpful with restaurant recommendations & directions. We were charged $20 for parking & the information on the website said Free Parking.

I had a great stay but a couple of issues. I enjoyed it room, it was clean bathroom was nice and the bed was so comfortable. The ac unit in the room worked wonderfully, we kept it super cold during our stay which helped after walking around in the heat. I was disappointed by the construction going on, not the hotel's fault at all but should be mentioned if you're planning a trip soon there is very loud equipment outside and it makes a walk to GRB a little longer. One thing that bothered me was that is advertised here that parking is free and it is not, they charge$20 per night per vehicle which isn't terrible but it was not planned for. Breakfast is not complimentary either.

BEWARE: Expedia says the parking is included but the hotel doesn’t actually offer it it’s was $20 a day. The person at the hotel said they repeatedly asked Expedia to remove that from their website as i wasn’t the first guest to ask why i was charged for parking when the parking was supposed to be included. The room was clean and the staff helped out whenever i needed some but they need better pest control. There was a dead roach on my rooms floor i killed before i left and the pool must have had more chlorine that necessary because a family who used it that got in the elevator with me it stank of the chemical. The parking lot in the back needs some maintenance as i hit the bottom of my car even when i drove slowly through it when leaving and I knew it had terrible conditions i still hit it.

Staff was understanding and switched our rooms and waived a night of parking. Gave us snacks for the inconvenience. Booking description stated parking would be free and it was not. The first room the gave us spelled strange and was damp/humid.

Nice location with good price tag

It was near the fan festival for the 2026 world cup Mean staff, specially the lady in the reception, Cassandra I think, slow maintenance, loud and old AC, awful internet connection, dirty surroundings, difficult to arrive in public transportation, expensive food, not well prepared for foreign visitors, very uncomfortable matress... Tons of storms in Houston and they did not have an umbrella??? Again, awful internet connection.

This hotel is being upgraded from previous hotel brand and it’s noticeable. They are trying very hard to upgrade and make it nicer. It was close to both the George R. brown and Toyota center. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything seemed pretty clean and fresh. The window unit was my only concern because I didn’t feel like it properly cooled the entire room, not awful but definitely not great. I would stay here again, despite that.
- 2/5
They advertised free parking and free hot breakfast. But on arrival, they charged $20/day for parking and there was no breakfast. I stayed there 3 nights and the water sputtered in the sink the whole time. On the last morning, the shower water stopped flowing after I had lathered up with soap.
- 5/5
No breakfast bar
- 3/5
Room was clean, was disappointed to find the hot tub amenity listed was not working during my stay. Hotel staff were amazing.
- 5/5
The staff went out of their way to ensure my daughter and I had a great stay! I highly recommend this hotel!
- 2/5
Charged $20 for parking once arrived - front desk was apologetic but slow. Room was dated. Pool was ice-cold. Convenient walk to convention center.
- 5/5
I always try to choose a Best Western, staff is always friendly and helpful, spaces are always clean and accessible. Never have a bad experience.
- 2/5
Adding to the frustration, the hotel charged me a $40 parking fee for two days, instead of reconciling from the $100 hold, resulting in $140 now pending on my credit card. I anticipate the credit card company will release the hold, but the wait is a massive inconvenience. At Hilton or Marriott, I've found that incidental charges are no longer an issue. Given that you have my credit card details, you could process any charges when I check out, rather than placing inconvenient holds. Overall a mid-okay stay, but I definitely won’t stay here again.
- 5/5
Super friendly staff. I like the dark colored color themes. Clean and free parking which is so so nice in downtown Houston.
- 5/5
It was good stay there
- 3/5
Breakfast was good. Door didn't lock to our room, was easily pushed open. "hot" tub was COLD. Staff said it had been down for weeks...Sadly this was one amenity we really wanted because we were in town for an athletic event. Staff for breakfast was friendly and professional. Location was super convenient.

Always clean rooms, nice staff always ready to help you. The breakfast is good as well. We come to this hotel every time we attend an Astros game because it’s walking distance from Daikin Park. I definitely recommend this hotel!!

Surrounding area of hotel is run down. Parking lot is small and tight and only allows for one vehicle per room. Outer parking is available but not safe. Room was okay but the door lock is unprofessional. You can see where they removed the previous knob and replaced with a new key entry but you’re not able to use your key. They give you a paper to program your door to open. Room smelled musty, shower wasn’t hot enough but we toughed it out for one night. You can spend less money at a Hilton with a better area and cleaner, organized stay.
- 4/5
This hotel is older but the parking lot is well lit with plenty of spaces andthe hotel had security. Staff kept the breakfast refilled with all the usual items found at ihg express. We did not use the pool or hot tub. Our first room had a leak underneath the bathroom sink so we changed rooms but neither room had much water pressure. This location was within walking distance of what we wanted to do downtown so it worked well for us.
- 2/5
Property smelled as soon as we walked in, our kids even mentioned it. Unsure if it was weed mixed with someones to go food or if it always smelled that way. It was nt pleasant. Our room smelled old or previously smoked in but covered by a plugged in air refreshener. The property could be better maintained as bathroom had issues and tile floor did not feel clean. The workout facilities were dirty and no water was present in the water station.
- 4/5
microfibre sheets do not 'breathe' and pillows were too soft
- 5/5
I had a pleasant stay overall. The room and interior felt a bit dated, but everything was clean and well-maintained. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made a positive difference. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely consider staying again if I’m back downtown.
- 3/5
Property needs a lot of updates; elevator didn't work one of the days.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and very friendly staff also I loved that it was 1 block away from the Toyota Center
- 1/5
Specifically, I am bringing the following issues to your immediate attention: • Door Hardware Failure: The door to my room did not sit flush with the frame. Not only were there visible gaps that compromised my privacy, but the latch was so poorly aligned that the door could be bypassed and opened using a simple credit card. • Systemic Code Vulnerability: I discovered that the numeric passcode for my room lock was not unique. It followed a predictable pattern tied directly to the room number. Anyone with knowledge of the hotel’s numbering system could have easily deduced my "private" code and entered the room. The combination of a physically insecure door and a predictable electronic lock system is unacceptable for a major hospitality brand. A hotel room should be a secure sanctuary; instead, I was forced to stay in a room that effectively had no lock at all.
- 3/5
Some rooms are currently in renovation.
- 3/5
Overall, we had a good experience. However, it was not advertised that they are under renovation. The rooms were redone but if you took a closer look things were just covered up, not fixed. Cracks in the walls and shower, old tvs, rusty shower, etc. It was also super muggy in the room and the only way to fix it was turning the air down so it was freezing. Breakfast was held in a conference room but the set up was the same. Tons of construction outside as well. It was okay for the purpose we were there for, nice at first glance but kind of dingy if you took a closer look.
- 3/5
Would not return
- 1/5
Was so nasty
- 2/5
Bad hotel. Room smelled like sewer. Very little shower water pressure and hot water not very hot. Hot tub colder than the pool. It’s a run down hotel in dire need of a renovation. I don’t know why the hell you would put the breakfast area on the 3rd floor across from occupied rooms. Quite noisy outside my room at 6am. Thanks a lot for that.
- 1/5
When I brought these concerns to the front desk, I was informed that there was no manager on duty over the weekend and no one available to address customer concerns. No solution was offered — not a room change, not an offer to properly clean the bathroom, and not even a follow-up plan. The absence of management during one of the busiest events the city is hosting this year is extremely concerning. In the hospitality industry, especially under the standards associated with InterContinental Hotels Group and the Holiday Inn brand, this level of service and property condition should not be acceptable.
- 5/5
It was a nice room
- 4/5
The Staff was hands down Amazing! Very Welcoming.
- 3/5
Night front desk office worker was awesome. I can always tell an off brand location due to no 24 hour coffee and no lime water. However, nice location and rooms. Indoor pool had a lot of chemicals. I could barely breathe.
- 1/5
Overall, our full stay was very terrible was not very clean under the sink was falling apart. We were in a two queen size sweet and it only had one small TV and it wasn’t where the living room area would be. The pool is supposed to be heated. Not only it was the pool lot heated, but the hot tub was not hot. I let the front desk know multiple times they said they were going to figure out why never got back to me. I would never bring my family to this location ever again.
- 5/5
Beds and room was clean... staff at the front desk were very welcoming and pleasant. Pool hot tub were good.. not great but its water lol .. breakfast was great. Late check is good... location is awesome
- 3/5
Smells, floor is uneven in the room, roaches in the room
- 2/5
There is no way on earth I would pay ~$270 a night for a room that was probably not worth more than $100 or even less. The only thing that is worth mentioning is that is quite conveniently located close to the Convention Center, just a few minutes walking to it .... but ... there was heavy construction going on and the streets were a muddy mess. This place needs serious renovations instead of badly executed "patching".
- 1/5
Never stayed
- 1/5
3 of 4 room keys did not function. Room smelled moldy. I was insulted and pushed by a couple of young men while getting into elevator on third floor. I left after one night and wrote off the expense of the room as a loss. Checked into another hotel for a much better experience. This place is a dive.
- 5/5
Excellent service and complimentary breakfast and parking. Highly recommended, nice location close to the convention center and downtown.
- 2/5
The room smelled like sewage, and also saw that the bathrooms that were outside the room were closed, asked to be moved to a different area. And they said they were sold out. They didn't even seem to want to come, check it out to see if it was something bad or not
- 3/5
Staff was very nice and accommodating, room was clean enough (not great), and breakfast was good. Pool and hot tub were unusable.. pool was hot tub temperature, hot tub was cold. This was a huge disappointment for my daughter.
- 1/5

All. Good
- 5/5
The staff got me checked in early and quickly.

Door locks have a PIN code that would be easy for any guest to figure out. Door is damaged and would be easy to force open. Rooms are not secure at all
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 2/5
Lobby smelled like a dirty bathroom. The hallway to our room reeked of mold. The building is surrounded by ongoing construction which wasn’t disclosed. The elevators kept malfunctioning. Staff were friendly. Bed was comfortable but overall, I would not stay here again.

The entire hotel was in poor condition. From the outside to inside the room . In desperate need of maintenance from floor to ceilings. Would not stay there ever again.
- 1/5
Hotel was very dirty. Elevators are not working property and our room had several broken items and tile was peeling off in the bathroom
- 2/5
Cockroaches in my room (2 of them)
- 2/5
Hot water was lukewarm at best the first 2 nights, borderline cold the last night.
- 2/5
The room had a terrible smell. But so did the entire hotel. The elevator was very sketchy. The place was very old and run down looking. The bathrooms really need to be redone, everything looks rusty/moldy. They were doing construction outside so maybe they’re trying to fix it up. But it was very disappointing. I will say it is a very convenient walk to the Toyota Center and George R Brown convention center.

Staff was great, walking distance to China Garden
- 5/5
Clean room pleasant staff great breakfast best pool and hot tub
- 2/5
We found cockroaches in the bed sheet. We were eventually given a different room.
- 1/5
Too many issues, the rooms were not up to par at all. The "kitchenette" is non-existent. There was never anyone at the front desk during night time to help assist with any issue.
- 5/5
friendly reception

The vending machine didn't work nor the ice machine. Breakfast was immaculate, and the staff was sweet. Wouldn't recommend to anyone? And if I knew it was under renovation, I wouldn't have stayed there.
- 5/5
Excellent locations walking distance to restaurants. The breakfast was great and hotel was nice and clean. I felt safe and the staff was very welcoming and nice.

Very helpful and polite staff

Additionally, the entire area around the hotel is under construction (likely for a while) so it's very difficult for Ubers to find the entrance / during the day it was blocked, and it's even difficult to walk to certain nearby areas as streets are closed off. Lastly, I noticed after coming back the first day that my door hadn't locked. After that when leaving I had to pull the door probably 5-6 times with just the right amount of force to create vibration so the dead bolt went incrementally further and then finally slid into the lock. It was the 2nd room I had because the first they gave me was right next to the construction, and I didn't have time to keep requesting to move to another room. Definitely was not worth almost $300 per night and I assumed it probably won't be for quite a while, given the construction in the area.
- 4/5
The staff, the breakfast, & location were the best part. My only complaints is that the elevators stopped working and had to take the stairs with all our luggage from the 4th floor. Also, there was an odd odor throughout most of the hotel but everything was spotless and clean. There’s got to be a way to reverberate some of that club music next door away from the hotel though-just a thought. Music was beatin down the block

Nice staff
- 4/5
Staff is friendly and very helpful. The room is recently remodeled so very nice and clean. Huge, has frig and microwave and big screen TV. Has gym and indoor pool
- 4/5
Hotel was close to convention center, and Toyota Center. Plenty of restaurants close by and walkable.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, great breakfast and very kind staff.
- 5/5
The breakfast was actually quite good for a hotel free breakfast.

The construction around this property causes some problems
- 5/5
Looks to be recently renovated. Rooms are nice and clean and the hallways are very quiet. Great to walk to Toyota Center, George R. Brown or Daiken park. Good parking and actually free parking which is a huge bonus. Friendly helpful staff.
- 2/5
The check in process was very smooth and easy with friendly staff but the hallways were messy and smelled like mildew everything about the building is under construction to rickety elevators to landlord special paintjobs in the hallways and especially the rooms the shower had been redone you can tell they hired the cheapest help they could find the shower rod for the curtain was hanging on a thread and funnily enough recieved the landlord special with a nice coat of white paint over the rod and that seemed to be what was keeping the rod on the wall besides that the construction around the site makes it difficult to arrive the pool felt like they were pumping water from the artics on top of that the bathroom door didnt close since hinges werent installed right and the ac would cool somewhat well then kinda cut off the other big issue is due to the construction the back side of the building is very cluterred and covered by shipping containers which did not look plesent as well as the lighting in the parking lot was poor thank fully the breakfast wasnt bad.
- 4/5
This hotel is great for events at the convention center and the Toyota center. Their is some construction happening that makes transportation a little challenging.
- 5/5
They are doing some remodeling but overall it is well kept. The gym is great, the indoor pool is nice and the breakfast is awesome.
- 3/5
The hotel was under construction, the parking space was limited really inconvenient
- 5/5
Under construction but everything was wonderful. The breakfast was great and the room was clean.
- 4/5
Super convenient for the concert we attended at Toyota center. Would stay again
- 2/5
I would have liked to know they were under construction before arrival had a hard time sleeping when they were working. And there was limited parking available not a fan of that. When we got up to our rooms smelled like someone had just smoked in the room and it was suppose to be smoke free. When we got back to our room you could tell someone else had eaten and left crumbs in the room.
- 2/5
Bathroom stained and dirty. Tub faucet thrown together unsafe room 219
- 2/5
this hotel is not as advertised, under construction and definitely needs it! there was no full length mirror in the room also the hair dryer was old and dusty. there was cracks in the tiles and just appeared dirty and worn out. the lighting in the halls were terrible it was so dark and creepy. the front check in guest was very flat not welcoming at all. the tv channels barely worked for maybe 10 channels and the ones that did work kept cutting out. I will never stay here again, not worth it to save only 50 bucks.

It was a great trip, service was good unfortunately the only down fall was findings of occasional roach and tiny ants. Not to mention the smell of paint or glue in the hallway due to renovation so it’s understandable just a bit inconvenient.
