Reviews
Guests have mixed feelings about their stay at the hotel. While some appreciated the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and friendly staff, others were disappointed with the noise, maintenance issues, and unprofessional staff behavior.

Initially I was given a room that has water damage and mold. I was very turned off by the conditions. Fortunately, the staff was willing to make it right by putting me in a better room.

The air conditioning in my room was not adjustable. My room was extremely hot, 75 degrees in a closed in room is hot in Dallas, TX. I told the staff when I came down I couldn’t control the temperature in the room, they said it’s controlled by the wall thermostat. But, it wasn’t controllable. I came in at 1:30 am tired from being at a conference all day and a little social gathering with my peers. I was exhausted. Thank God I had my portable fan, that’s how I made it through the night. I was staying two nights but I checked out. I never give reviews but this was terrible.

Great location, neat, clean and friendly staff. Loved the indoor pool. I really enjoyed my stay. Thank you. Bathroom is small. Bed not as comfortable as LaQuinta. Breakfast too expensive. Every other hotel has continental.
- 2/5
The nicest part of the hotel was the lobby. The rooms were the opposite of that and walls were so dirty, doors didn’t shut correctly and TV’s were working right.
- 5/5
The room was clean an comfortable but the coffee machine did not work.

I forgot there was a pool! Should have brought some swimming wear but it was a really great stay! Even got our room upgraded!

I like everything breakfast could be included in your stay what I did not like was it stated a smoke free facility but the 5thand 4th floor was horrible with the Loudest Marijuana smell it bother my severe allergies made me fell horrible people need to be held accountable especially when it's a smoke free facility!!

Great stay

The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. The finishes could use some renos... for example you couldn't take a bath in the tub as the drain doesn't fully close and the lighting in the bathroom and mirror are not bright and clear for putting on makeup.
- 5/5
If you haven’t got a car be prepared to pay between $50 and $100 each way to get into central Dallas or Fort Worth…
- 5/5
Checking in was little but unpleasant as there were delays and the receptionist couldn't process payment via there POS, had to note down my card details which wasn't really safe but I had to comply unfortunately.

How Cleanest the room and bathroom was. The shower head wasn't the greatest. It could've been so much better!
- 3/5
Pool was closed which I was looking forward too. The toliet seat in my room was chipping and looked dirty. The bed was super hard and not comfortable at all as well as the pillows were very flat. Nice hotel but could definitely be better. The location was also difficult to find at first as it’s hidden behind other businesses.

Check-in was a disaster, got double charged the $50 incidentals and was charged for 4 nights when I had already prepaid through Expedia. Pool was closed for maintenance the whole week according to staff and was never told there was breakfast. None of the staff could help me get a refund except Kris and even then I still have Holiday Inn charges on my card that I need reversed. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, we ended up checking out a day early because we had awful sleep for 3 nights. Deceptively nice looking but wouldn't stay here again and wish I could be refunded for the 4th night that we didn't stay here and had to go somewhere else for a good night rest before traveling.
- 4/5
Friendly and professional staffs, both at front desk and room maintenance. Thank you.
- 4/5
The staff were real friendly and professional looking, and booking the room was very easy and checking in was just as easy.
- 3/5
The staff was fantastic and the property was clean and well maintained. There is also a small store for extras like drinks and pain meds. The hotel is also walking distance to several restaurants. Cons: Unfortunately we didn't sleep well because the beds are extremely firm. Breakfast is not included. For the cost of the room, it was very disappointing to then have to pay for breakfast. The breakfast menu was really good, it was just disappointing having to pay $10+ more per person.
- 4/5
Breakfast was ok. Hot tub was not in working condition the whole week i was here. Very disappointed
- 5/5
We always stay here

- 2/5
I paid for a king bed and they got me a double queen bed. There’s nothing good in that hotel
- 5/5
Clean room and great staff. The only thing that was negative if that you have to pay for breakfast.
- 5/5
Awesome
- 1/5
Water pressure in the shower was horrible. After traveling all I wanted was a nice hot shower to relax and what I got was some spit. The beds were hard. Little brown bugs came out of sink faucet when initially turned on. Other than that room was clean
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean. The location was very good near multiple restaurants most in walking distance.. breakfast was great was not expecting a great breakfast.
- 1/5
It was terrible. Check in was at 3 , got there at 5 and room wasn't ready. Got back from my event at 11pm and was given a room i didn't pay for. Wanted a 2 bed room and received one bed and a couch pull put bed. It was like sleeping on the springs. Plus this location did not have the complementary breakfast. Very disappointed.
- 5/5
Good place
- 4/5
The room was nice, but the property was under construction and most areas/amenities were closed. Breakfast was excellent. It will probably be nice once it's finished.

Can't rate, the hotel is undergoing renovations.

Front desk personnel not very informative

Bathrooms was small beds are super firm tv remote didnt work and they were doing remodel which i never knew about
- 3/5
The entire place was under construction. The lobby bathroom doors were stuck... Not a pleasant experience
- 3/5
Room was in sad shape, the carpet was not attached to the carpet tack strip, and my wife stepped on it during the night going to the bathroom
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
The hotel is in between renovations so I'm disregarding the construction in this review. The room was clean; however, it did smell of stale smoke. In regard to comfort of the king bed, it was absolutely horrible. Beds are a big deal to me when traveling and unfortunately this one was terrible. Zero comfort!
- 4/5
This location is under renovation, so breakfast bar closed . However, FDA Sonny made it delightful by offering other amenities and inviting me to come back once it was finished to enjoy the upgrades. Parking was a little tight but hoping that will be upgraded as well. My room was nice. Restaurants less than 10 minutes away. I will be back, even before renos are completed.
- 4/5
Room was clean . Safe area

The fact that you have to pay for a complementary breakfast, is it really complementary is it? I would call that pretty cheap.
- 5/5
Pretty neat stay
- 1/5
The pool, work out room, the bar and the free breakfast were not available which was super unexpected and super annoying since we had booked for 2 nights and had planned to utilize the pool and the workout room! The staff except the young lady who changed our room and checked us in were all very unwelcoming and almost annoyed with guests! No staff ever greeted us not the front not the house keeping not anyone ! We were completely satisfied and since for the first time in our lives we went without room insurance we couldn't change anything! I give this hotel a zero but sadly that is not an option! They also blamed Expedia for not telling us about the lack of everything! We totally spent too much money for this stay, this was like a horrible one star motel and not a hotel we're used to and we travel a lot and have stayed in so many hotels, also this is my first time ever doing a review!
- 1/5
One of my rooms, the toilet was broken so we had to change rooms, the “new room” the beds were dirty and had hair all in one of the beds. The bathtub, did not hold water. So I could not give my autistic 3 year old a bath. Highly disappointed this weekend!
- 5/5
Needed to fall asleep somewhere last night. And it was great
- 4/5
Didn’t do breakfast or hot tub
- 1/5
The Holiday in was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in, in my life. The beds were hard and lumpy, thermostats did not work, there was rust and lime callouses all over the shower and there was some type of grinding noise that went all night long. I have videos to show all the things I mentioned. The manager Chris promised me a refund for one nights stay and it never showed up. No I will never stay with them again.

Very nice hotle

The room was clean and everyone was nice
- 1/5
The property was in construction and it was a mess. It said free continental breakfast but they gave us a menu with prices and even coffee was expensive
- 3/5
Most of the main area, reception and amenities, are under renovation. Stayed at this hotel to use the hot tub and gym, but those were closed as well.
- 4/5
Staff wasn't very friendly
- 1/5
The whole hotel is pretty much closed for construction. Nothing is open.
- 2/5
Bath tub drained slowly such that I was standing in water above my ankles. Service desk didn’t offer assistance when they might have. Advertised amenities, pool, fitness center and onsight restaurant were not available due to renovation.
- 1/5
No one from the hotel communicated that the hotel was undergoing renovations and that all hotel amenities were closed. This hotel is a mess
- 3/5
Ok
- 1/5
The place was a demolition site. No pool, hot tub, no breakfast, no front desk. Lobby bathrooms closed with a sewage smell wafting down the plastic covered hallway to the elevator. Our bathtub had rust spots. Paint chipping off the walls. The coffee maker spewed coffee and filled the cup with grounds. The beds were nice. The clock didn’t work, but the tv worked. We took photos but can’t post them here. Will not be back.
- 4/5
Despite all of the renovations and noise everything else was good.
- 2/5
The hotel was in renovation and that was not expressed when we booked our stay. We paid full price. When we got to the hotel we had been traveling for over 24 hours (sleeping in airport) because of a connecting flight cancellation, and we were exhausted. Otherwise, when I entered the hotel and saw the condition, I would have tried to book elsewhere. There was only one elevator, the entire lobby was being renovated and there was plastic wall tarps hanging in an entrance way to the elevator. There were no bathrooms open on the first floor, The indoor pool and jacuzzi (which were heavily advertised) were being maintained, they were drained, and unavailable as well (but I didnʻt see anyone working on them). The front entrance doors were inaccessible and you had to enter from a side door. The receptionist was located by this side door and was set-up on a small podium, and there was only one receptionist during shifts. I will say I felt for them and they did their best to accommodate. The dining area was situated in a small conference room off the lobby that was being renovated. The breakfast choices were limited and mediocre, and we paid extra for the breakfast. I will say that the woman, I wish I could remember her name, who served us was sweet, kind, and the best part of our stay. The room itself was fine and the beds were comfortable. The downstairs lobby area was messy and some garbage was left unattended, but the hallway to our room and the room itself was clean.
- 3/5
Construction presented problems.
- 1/5
During my stay, there was construction work going on. I was assured that it would not affect my stay, however the next morning at 7 AM we were awoken loudly with banging from the downstairs construction zone. The breakfast area was not even set up ,it would be inconceivable to even have a conversation with all the loud banging, and we decided to have breakfast elsewhere. I was told because I paid for breakfast I would be receive a refund. I would also get 50% off of my stay. I was told I need to call Expedia and that they would get a hold of them. Expedia has reluctantly tried several times to get a hold of this location of Holiday Inn. However, I still have not received that refund.

I love the quietest there

Great place to stay
- 4/5
The hotel was under renovation which required some detours of some areas, including front desk, dining area etc. Even through the somewhat chaotic work space, every employee we encountered was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The front desk girl, Christine, was beyond pleasant and hospitable. We had a minor incident with our key cards/ door lock as we returned from an outing one evening. Our cards would not unlock our door. My husband went down to get help from staff and returned with a very nice gentleman (sorry I failed to get his name). He was able to get us into our room for the night. The following morning, a maintenance staff came and replaced the batteries in our door lock. The dining area was temporarily moved into a banquet room due to the construction work. It was clean and tidy and the sweet server lady was wonderful. Breakfast was hot and excellent. Our room was very efficient and comfortable, however the bed was a little firm for me, but my husband thought it was comfortable. Everything was found to be clean. The shower was nice with plenty of hot water. Water pressure was perfect. Parking was easy and they had plenty of carts to carry our luggage inside on. All in all, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone. We plan to book this hotel again when we are in the area.

I attended an event at Curtis Culwell Center, and from the hotel is about a 20-minute walk. On the way, there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The staff were amazing and helpful, considering the busy weekend that I was there.
- 3/5
Should upgrade the whole hotel
- 4/5
This has always been my go to when I come to Garland. Check in was quick and easy. I am never disappointed in my room. My only thing is I love the hot tub there. I just wish there was like maybe an hour after close for just adults to relax. But other than that, everything was ok.
- 4/5
Close to family. Remote for the tv was hard to figure out and the breakfast wasn’t free but other than it was ok

Our toilet wouldn't flush in our original room and they didn't have anyone who could fix it, so we had to be moved to another room.
- 3/5
The property has good dinning options, breakfast onsite was good but I recommend they extend breakfast time until 11am instead of 10.
