My room with two queen beds was spacious and clean. I loved how it was designed and decorated. There was a large window with sheers and full blackout drapery to keep out that strong Dallas sun! There was space between the beds for a small sofa and table, as well as other ample surface space in the room. The closet was a nice size with shelves, hangers, and a safe. There were enough lamps and two full-length mirrors, one by the bathroom and one by the window. The only thing missing was a fan in the bathroom - a necessity in my opinion - for both privacy and air flow. The door to the bathroom was a solid sliding door on a track and very heavy. It pulled on the carpet outside the bathroom, making it hard to open and close. It should be planed down a bit on the bottom. Add the fan and it would be a 10/10!

The room was clean but the service was awful. They no longer offer room service but we were told we could call in an order for pickup. Then when we tried the lady told us we would have to come down to order and wait for it. We went to the restaurant and had to wait for a table to be cleaned then after 15 minutes no one waited on us so we left.

The service was just beyond subpar - from check in to check out. We expect better for this price point of hotel. Our daughter attends college nearby and we will find other accommodations going forward. It is a shame there weren’t more hospitable staff to deal with unexpected issues. Excellent service could have kept us as customers even in the face of the problem.

Beautiful Hotel. Excellent service. Great amenities

GREAT PLACE! Highly recommended!!’
- 5/5
I got a handicapped room and didn't request one. That was disappointing
- 5/5
I just wish the rooms had a coffee maker and cups.
- 5/5
The main item with which I have a concern is the softness of the bath towels. They seemed clean, but much used.
- 5/5
Second stay. Highly recommend

Great stay will come back anytime

Good hotel.

I love this hotel. The restaurant isn’t as good as it used to be, which is kind of sad but everything else is great. My room was clean daily by very kind of people. I stay there for a week because I actually had a facelift down in Dallas and it was super embarrassing, and the staff was so nice to me. I got a fractional laser which made me look like an alien for a few days and they still made me feel welcome —thank you for making an embarrassing few days feel comfortable for me.

The excellent location off of Central Expressway and Mockingbird. Through no fault of the hotel, major road construction is on-going at the entrance, making it difficult to enter & exit

Nice room, gym, and restaurant. Staff very friendly and what you would expect from Hilton's nicer collection of hotels.
- 2/5
Hobby bathroom was nasty. It is outdated. Room was small. You can bring water or pay 8 dollars for theirs.

Valet and front desk were not very friendly at check in. I did not realize the hotel didn’t offer room service so I called when I got to the room and was told they don’t do that but I could order take out from the restaurant. Then she said they close at 4:30 and it was 4:05 and they were already closed. No coffee in room either. Check out staff and valet were nice the next morning.
- 1/5
The valet was terrible. They were not there half the time and seemed disgruntled. The front desk staff are not very professional and informal. The restaurant had a ridiculous wait and there was one waitress for all tables at the restaurant. The AC was not working in my room and had to sleep with the window open. The hotel is right off the highway. I could go on and on about this hotel. Do not stay here.
- 5/5
From beginning to end this stay was wonderful. Etienne at the front desk was so helpful with all of my questions and needs. Our server, Avery, was wonderful at the on-site restaurant, food was pleasant and the bloody Mary was fantastic. Ryan at the bar was the most helpful with not only our wine selection but also made me the best coffee based tini on the planet!! Even in a moment of need, this entire staff came together to make sure we had a bottle opener ready and waiting for us in our room when we arrived back at the hotel long after the bar had closed. We could not be happier with our stay.
- 4/5
Enjoyed the comfort of the room. Though the option of the available drinks for purchase was nice, I really just needed the refrigerator space.
- 2/5
The hotel was nice. But they charged a bunch of mini bar items to my room incorrectly, which was a waste of my time to straighten out.
- 4/5
I got the property was great. He was easy because it was close to SMU as I was visiting my daughter there I was just highly disappointed. They would not honor my Hilton honor points. There’s no reason they couldn’t have out of them on.
- 3/5
If you could help me get the points added to my account that would be great. My phone number is 310-802-9889. Thank you so much Lisa DeSantis.

Great location. We were doing a college visit for SMU and this place is literally across the street. Very nice service and great places to go out and eat all around.

Only have valet parking and is total rip off
- 5/5
Room was immaculate, staff very warm and friendly. Valet got busy at times, even with 2 attendants, but that’s expected during high traffic times. Hotel gym was really nice compared to others I’ve visited. Hotel in great proximity to lots of food and activities. Most drives were 15-20min, centrally located to other towns. Overall a really good choice for a relaxing hotel stay.
- 4/5
No in room coffee. Otherwise great.

- 5/5
The room was very nice.
- 5/5
Very pretty property. Very close to SMU so try not to book on a day of a game but other than that the rooms are so nice and the staff is 110% amazing
- 1/5
We were meeting family and decided to meet for drinks. The bar that was supposed to be open did not open for several hour late. Now we just tried to have breakfast but was told at least a twenty minute wait just to be seated. Not ever coming back.
- 5/5
This was an opportunity for me to give myself a gift everything was absolutely wonderful
- 5/5
Great hotel - very tranquil
- 5/5
It was such a lux experience. Will definitely be back. Next time I will try out the spa
- 5/5
The rooms are very nice! If you're looking for comfort and updated spaces, this is the place. Sits on the corner of an busy street. And the main parking option is to do valet parking for an additional fee. Important to note. But staff was extremely nice and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others.
- 5/5
Grateful I stayed. Free upgrade!
- 4/5
Hotel was great! The thing that got me was they don't have any free self-parking. They only have valet parking and it's $55 a night. I complained and the Manager waived it, but I don't think it's right to not put that info on the description of the hotel.
- 5/5
Very spacious. Has snacks and beverages in room Staff is very friendly
- 2/5
Thin walls, no toiletries, only room service for breakfast, vallet is very expensive but doesn’t help with bags. Pool was nice but the spa wasn’t very good. I wouldn’t stay here again
- 2/5
I’m so disappointed as I was expecting so much better. The girls that checked me in had no idea how far the airport was from the hotel and said I can google it as well as what time to leave if there’s traffic. My card had a swiping issue and the other girl said she didn’t know how to manually enter it. When i went to my room floor there was a cart in the hall with old food and dirty items for hours. In the room there was stains on the rug and bed sheets. On one bed the sheets had holes and a burn mark that caused the sheet to have a sharp burnt edge. I took photos of it all. I’m traveling for work and there was an iron but no ironing board or robe in the closet. Very very disappointing especially for the price.

Beautiful!!
- 3/5
Good Property but not advisable for businesses travelling
- 5/5
Great hotel - perfect for SMU
- 5/5
The hotel is darling! We had the opportunity to sit by the pool, it was loud due to traffic, but still wonder as the pool is fantastic and the chairs were comfortable. We didn’t have dinner at the Knife, but were able to walk across the street and shop and dine. Overall it’s a 10 out of 10!
- 3/5
I REALLY wish I had a better experience. This was my chance, as a mom if 3, to get away for one night. The hotel itself is lovely. However, it was VERY understaffed. At check-in, no one behind the desk. Eventually, the valet found someone to check me in. Not the best first impression. At the poil, no one at the towel Check-out station or the bar. The last impression was me heading down 7 flights of stairs because the intercom said the building was on fire.
- 5/5
We had not stayed at the Highland for a number of years - the renovation is spot on! Staff outstanding - walking distant to SMU!
- 5/5
Loved our stay, great get away for the weekend
- 5/5
This was a trip to visit family in the area. We have been staying at this hotel for years and have always been very happy The rooms and hotel have all been remodeled since our last visit and we were very happy with how beautiful it looked. The staff there is very friendly and welcoming also.
- 5/5
Nice fresh clean hotel with great restaurant and a very fair rate
- 2/5
It was just okay. Our room seemed old. It had an old bathtub that you had to stand in to shower. I only booked here because I read that it had been renovated! Also, the view was not great at all.
- 4/5
Room was great, very clean and the bed comfortable as well. Unfortunately during my stay one of the gentleman at the front desk was very rude and made my stay more difficult than necessary. Was delayed Friday evening due to weather and didn’t arrive until Saturday morning. Was told that since I was early to check-in that my room was not ready yet. Despite technically being a day late to my booking. I reiterated that my booking was actually for the previous day and was still told the same thing. So either he was too lazy to look up an open room from the previous night or the hotel double booked my room. I have a whole list of other interactions between us and not enough characters to explain it all out. Long story short, this gentleman was extremely unhelpful during the whole process and is the reason my rating is not a full 5 stars.
- 5/5
They did a fantastic job with the recent renovation. Rooms were beautifully appointed and very clean. Staff was friendly and responsive. Great location near SMU/Park Cities.
- 5/5
Though a short stay, we enjoyed our time at the Highland.
- 5/5
Great staff and comfy rooms!
- 4/5
I hate the new decor; it’s tacky and inconsistent. The worst thing is no coffee pots in rooms. The valet parking is way too expensive, and staff is blasé. Why take a beautiful classy hotel and make it ugly?
- 1/5
I left a watch in my room and they didn’t turn it back
- 3/5
Ideal for a visit to SMU campus - very walkable to campus. Hotel is ok - first impression is good - newly remodeled lobby area. Beyond that the halls smelled - dirty, carpet was filthy & outdated. Room was decent & worked for our short visit.
- 3/5
The room was nice but the construction in the lobby and around the elevators made moving around cumbersome. They should have offered discounts, you should not have to ask if their construction infringes on your ability to move around the property
- 1/5
The hotel is undergoing a major renovation of which we were not aware of. The lobby was loud, dirty and inconvenient. There was only one elevator working which multiple times had so many construction workers that we had to wait for the next or even multiple elevator’s. The fire alarm went off several times leaving us uncomfortable not knowing if there was an issue or if was a side effect of the work being done. We paid full price to stay there and had we known about the situation there, we would have booked elsewhere.
- 2/5
Two issues there was a significant renovation going on which impacted our stay with noise etc. This should have been disclosed. Second the people working the front desk was rude not knowledgeable and very unfriendly.
- 5/5
Super cute and clean rooms! Extremely friendly front desk staff. Hallway windows kinda dirty.. and maintenance in lobby. But still great stay! Would definitely return.
- 1/5
Poor service and WiFi connection
- 4/5
They are updating the hotel so there is tremendous interior construction happening on the floors - my room was completed but I heard drilling on the floor above me. No coffee pots in the room and do not plan to provide them.
- 3/5
Wish they would have told me. Made my trip very difficult.
- 3/5
The only saving grace was the location.
- 3/5
we went to our room and it was not completely finished or ready to have guests in it yet. So they ended up giving us a handicap room that was smaller not quite what we paid for. We got a rollaway bed which did not fit. They had to come up to move furniture around and take some out so we could fit a rollaway so we were not happy with that situation. But the room was nice. I’m sure when the hotel it’s finished, it will be awesome. Everybody was really nice. We just weren’t happy with how we ended up with the room we got, which was less in size and amenities than what we had booked.
- 5/5
The front desk customer service was immaculate.
- 3/5
There was no microwave in the room. There was no non-valet parking at the location. Staff was nice. Room was small but fine for an overnight stay.
- 3/5
We got there and there wasn’t water running for 4 hours - couldn’t even flush a toilet. There was construction noises most of the day and the elevators were soooo slow because of the workers going up and down. The water in our room was basically grey water. It was cloudy to the point it looked white and it never settled. We had to brush our teeth and wash our face with water bottles. One night we asked for more water bottles and the staff told us there was no more available at the front desk and that housekeeping was gone for the day and locked everything else up. He had to go to the kitchen and get us a bucket of water. Finally, the staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. They made it feel like we were out of line to ask for accommodations and someone to speak with. I also heard the male front desk staff making grunting (almost gorilla) like sounds as people walked by on more than one occasion. Such a bummer because the hotel is convenient with great amenities near by but I’m not sure I will ever be staying here again.
- 5/5
appreciated the comped valet and dining credit to make up for the contraction work noise. Decent hotel over all. Felt a bit outdated. Nice spa.
- 2/5
On the positive side, the staff accommodated us when I made it clear we would not be staying there after the first night, and we canceled the remainder of our stay and moved to another hotel. Also the kids did enjoy the pool for a bit.
- 3/5
The mattress had a huge body imprsion in it. Very incomfortabl.
