The little motel that could! For what it is, there’s very good value. My room wasn’t made up upon check in, but the friendly and helpful front desk staff made my accommodations right immediately. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Free continental breakfast is a big perk. Location is caddie corner to the Henderson/Knox neighborhood where you’ll find a slew of awesome restaurants and bars with youthful vibrant clientele. Don’t worry about finding a parking spot, it’s all within short walking distance! For the budget accommodations category, this one is it.

Room was clean. Staff were friendly.
- 1/5
Staff wasn’t friendly at all, the towels were stained and the bathroom door was missing all but 2 screws holding it on to the door frame. I won’t ever stay here again

I paid an above average price for a hotel that was not at all up to par with other hotels you would get at this price. I’m pretty sure there was a lot of illegal activity going on around me at the same time they tried to charge me extra to check in an hour earlier. My toilet literally didn’t work I had to fix it myself. Loud noise all night with people smoking right outside my door talking and arguing at least until 3am. The mini fridge was having issues with the compressor or something and making awful lout noises all night. Not to mention the goop and dirty black residue in the only cabinet. It was a hotel I’d expect to experience for 65 dollars a night but if you add the early check in fee they asked me for it would have been almost 200 for the night. Not the worst hotel ever I’ve seen some bad hotels but this one was just priced very out of its price range for what it was. 2/10

customer service and front desk staff are very rude and unpolite, this is the worst la quinta I have stayed,
- 5/5
For the price and the location, you cannot beat this hotel! The staff is wonderfully nice. Everything was super clean. The rooms don’t have carpet and were easily cleaned. I loved it! And the restaurants in walking distance are to die for.

The hotel property itself was aesthetically nice and smelled fresh and clean but some of the clientele and outside activities were a bit concerning and felt a bit unsafe . The location was very convenient but very noisy given the location right on the freeway. The price was great since it was just a one night turnaround trip but would not stay longer than that.

Cleanliness and excellent staff

Cons: (1) Noise - my room was about 75 feet from the freeway so it's very noisy. The traffic noise is soothing to me ( I have tinnitus in both ears), but might not be to others. The air conditioner was also very noisy, so between the two it was hard to hear the television. Not a major problem with captions though. Better insulation around the door would help. (2) Temperature - Air conditioner doesn't keep the room temperature steady. It blows right on the bed, so it's a little cold while it's on, but then gets too hot despite turning down the thermostat. To be fair, it was 107 degrees outside while I was there. (3) Had to wait an hour for my room to be ready. They where short staffed that day, but room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was great. I also think checking in was super simple straightforward. Pretty much everything was included. No toothbrushes

Next to dennys, good free parking. Rooms were clean. Acs were kinda having a hard time keeping up. Hotel only stocked a bar cleansing soap and small thing of shampoo for a family suite. Also alot of tv channels didnt work & the wifi was very slow. Then neighbors smoking first thing at 7 am on the patio instead of downstairs or in their cars. Neighbors loud too especially in the mornings.
- 3/5
I would not recommend - very close to freeway and it is not very clean
- 3/5
Sheets were dirty upon check in and shower was VERY leaky, causing water to go all over the floor and ceiling
- 5/5
I didn’t have a hair blower in the room. I worked nights, my room was facing heavy traffic. My room was very clean, and the staff was very polite and professional.
- 3/5
I booked two nights and decided not to stay over the second night. The bed was very firm and killed my joints. I used the room as a workspace more than anything else. I had the completely wipe down the desk area a couple times with Clorox wipes - had a bunch of little stuck on bits. My only washcloth had hair in it when I unfurled it. Important and not advertised anywhere: there is a mandatory $75 deposit at check in. Surprise! For what? The privilege of staying at a so-so hotel right on an interstate with all the noise that ensues? They take it in cash or on a card. It takes up to five business day to release the charge if you use a card. I can’t recommend this place, sorry.
- 1/5
Bedsheets were dirty with stains. Asked the night attendant and he gave us some sheets and said he didn’t know how to change. Didn’t have energy to go to another hotel after driving for 15hours at around 1am. Breakfast choices are very poor with no eggs/protein or even choice of breads. I don’t know how did they get all those rating.

Location & Breakfast Cleanliness
- 5/5
He also offered us an excellent room at the back of the building (away from the highway noise). Room 142. The staff member was extremely helpful and attentive. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name, but we chatted a bit and I know he is from a city near Mumbai, India. He is an excellent employee. There is also a Denny’s right next to the hotel (within walking distance), which is very convenient. Since the hotel breakfast is quite basic, it’s a good option to supplement it there. Parking is available on-site and free of charge.
- 4.5/5
Location, much more quieter in back of hotel Noise on upper floor
- 2.5/5
The room was clean and location is great Room was connected to another guest room with a door separation and they were extremely loud effecting my ability to sleep. This is the second time staying at this location and noise being an issue.
- 4.5/5
Clean and easy to get in and out of of Maybe the outside renovation. Can use a little more landscaping with flowers and things of that nature to bring the value up. This hotel sits in the middle of uptown where the money is. It’s important to match the demographics around you. And uptown is known for tons of millionaires .. so adding some flowers, landscaping, trees and maybe even a new paint job
- 1/5
One of the worst stays at a hotel I've ever had to experience
- 0.5/5
Not much honestly. It was close to downtown, but the neighborhood itself was undesirable. I had one positive interaction with one morning staff member who apologized for everything and tried to assist with a refund. The bedding was stained and appeared to be unclean. The room was not quite as pictured, and seemed to be more dated/damaged than appeared in the photos. I had issue with the evening staff not charging the correct card for my security deposit, despite telling him 3 times that I would like to use a separate card. He was unapologetic, unhelpful, and overall disappointing as far as hotel staff goes. There was a man who sat in his truck parked in the parking lot outside of our room. He had his shirt pulled up over his belly, and had the driver side door partially open and windows down. He didn’t appear to be on a phone, he appeared to just be a watching the comings and goings of people staying in the hotel. It made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. At one point, we could hear arguing outside the door, and felt that the door locks were not sufficient if someone truly decided they wanted to try to get in. There was a very strong urine and poo smell on the side yard marked for pets. This is expected from a hotel that allows pets, but unfortunately - this side yard was near the staircase closest to our room so we had to walk past the smell every time we went up or down. I ended up not even spending a single night here. I re-packed my car, gave the room keys back to the unhelpful front desk staff, and went to a different hotel. I was told I would get a refund for at least one of the nights that I didn’t stay - but they couldn’t guarantee getting a refund for both. I’ve gotten my security deposit back but still no refund for the room itself. I have half a mind to report this hotel to the Better Business Bureau or FTC. I don’t think anyone should spend over $100 for two nights at this hotel. This particular location should be $30 - $40/night TOPS. I was also supposed to get a call from the manager, Amy to discuss the refund of the first night and I have yet to hear from anyone at the hotel.
- 5/5
The room had certain smell like humid or pets pee. But overall great location for my business in that part of the city
- 1/5
I had hair trimmed everywhere, I went to the office to report it at the time and he told me to fix it with spice... bad service.
- 3/5
Very old room. Pool needs to be more clean and inviting. Breakfast is bad.

Location Noise around hotel
- 4/5
Easy walking distance to bars and pubs. The Old Monk is a great place and right around the corner.
- 2/5
Roaches and sheets weren't clean enough. I ended up checking out immediately.
- 3/5
Be sure to request a room on the back side of the property. Easy on and off Central Expressway.
- 0.5/5
Close to freeway Beds were uncomfortable and room had so many waterbugs.(the roaches that fly) They have you upload your ID and payment method for a faster check in just for you to check in and have go through the full process. If location is most important to u its an ok spot but if comfort and bug free is more important please don’t choose this motel.
- 4/5
Its on a great location. Just a very busy and noisy area. The breakfast is not really a breakfast. For the price, Cool, for the noise noooo.
- 5/5
Very pleased with everything.
- 5/5
Bed was very comfortable and it’s was very clean and it’s close to everything I enjoyed my stay Just the breakfast is not all that it’s simple just waffles cereal bagel organs juice office and yogurt that’s all
- 5/5
The pool was a bit dirty needed to be cleaned
- 4/5
Spending a good deal of my time in South Americal, I am used to a much higher quality breakfast. Bananas were very green, which meant no fresh edible fruit. Lots of weirdos in the parking lot. Neighborhood a bit scary at night.
- 3/5
yes
- 2/5
Pool was closed. Room got cleaned once during a three day stay. Asked the front desk for an extra blanket, was given a mattress pad. To top it off… a car literally BLEW up in front of the hotel at 3am!! Found a burnt up car blocking the street in the morning. This is not a great area or hotel. Scary.
- 1/5
Very nasty , had insects crawling on the walls, the lbedding was old and wornout. The room was very old with doors and baseboards were all banged up and needing replaced.or painted. Felt very unsafe with rooms in back of building. Will never stay in another La Quinta

The hotel was “renting to a family of 6 w 3 dogs. They took up a good part of the back parking lot & they were loud until 2 am, plus the dogs were tied up outside & barked incessantly. A horrible stay that has left me avoiding La Quinta!

Clean room, good staff, quick and easy check in and checkout process.

I cleaned the room myself with lysol wipes as things were stuck to the floor and some things felt untouches in cleanliness. It is not a hotel its a motel, doors to outside. The refrigerator wasnt stable and wanted to fall forward...water pressure wasnt the best...couldnt hear through the phone well. It worked well enough for my stay and the staff were sweet. It was VERY close to bars and things to do in uptown.

I checked everywhere and googled and nowhere did it say you had to be 21 to check in. I booked and even did the pre check in and got there and they told me I could not check in. The worker was not very helpful or kind. Also a very sketchy area and I did not feel safe at all.

Everything was fine
- 5/5
Clean Room, Nice and friendly staff, but so close to main avenues that you can hear loud vehicles passing. I’d stay here but in a further room.
- 2/5
Staff was actually really nice. The room REEKED OF CIGARETTES even though it was a non-smoking room. Our clothes we didn’t wear even smell like cigarettes now.
- 3/5
Just check the smell of the a/c units, be sure that tvs have local channels (both on the suite doesn’t work because don’t have internet and cable system) and add more bathroom shampoos and soap. I upgrade to a family suite and just have one soap tiny bar and a tiny shampoo.
- 4/5
Super close to the highway where you can hear all traffic all night. The guy couldn’t speak English at the front desk well and the room was not the cleanest.
- 4/5
Nice location.Room was clean and comfortable.

Clean room
- 4/5
The room was clean and comfortable. My only issue is every time the air shut off is smelled like pot in the room and of course whoever was above us was up all night, which sounded like they were moving stuff, but that’s not the hotel‘s fault.
- 3/5
Good location for my event. Linens were not clean, bathroom door needs maintenance, and housekeeping shorted us on towels.
- 5/5
The hotel is fine, but the room was not as clean as we would’ve liked. Some old stains on the sheets made it a little uncomfortable, Abel. While the hotel is relatively as advertise, it is right on a major expressway, so it gets really loud starting at 5 AM in the morning with traffic.
- 5/5
Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a Denny’s just steps away in the same parking lot, and if you're looking for something with more character, The Old Monk is right around the corner a vibey spot with a great atmosphere. The surrounding area has a laid-back, convenient feel, with a liquor store and a 7-Eleven both within walking distance. Parking was easy and stress-free. Overall, a solid, reasonably priced hotel in a great location. I’ve found my new go-to for Dallas weekends.
- 5/5
Great location by Highland Park and downtown. Close to everything I needed. Great price!
- 4/5
We were in the room that's wheelchair friendly. The bathroom is a bit dangerous as the water was set to spray forward and heads right to the doorway, making walking on the tile floor dangerous. In the shower it is also dangerous with the plastic cover around the drain as it slides on the wet tile. There needs to be warnings. Also, set the shower to point downward, so the water won't race across the floor.

The Staff was pleasant, and the room was decent. Hotel also decent, simple breakfast available and close to stores and fwy. Only con … There was hair in the shower and on back of toilet. I stay again not mainly due to the loud fwy it sits next to.
