Quality Inn & Suites on the Beach Downtown

I was running late and they cancelled my stay even though I was booked for several days. They didnt charge me and told me to rebook but they were no longer coming up under Hotels.com. My experience with Hotels.com was even worse. I needed to adk for refund . Kept getting ai bot that kept hanging up on me because it said my credit card didn't match, which it was correct. Finally after several exhausting attempts to talk to live person and many searches on right number, I spoke to someone. They informed me they had to email property and wait for response. Istill have not received my refund and if it is not done today I will be doing 1 star reviews on Hotel.com on every platform I can. The whole experience was nightmare. ☆After two weeks of hassle and disputes hotels.com has not returned my payment. This is not right as the hotel did not charge me . This is right out robery

At check in. I had to pay the difference due to security deposit wasn't made and they had changed their rates. They said they trying to contact Travelocity, but they couldn't get anybody.

Room and location was not as photos depict, Room and location looked neglected, as if a Vac had not been run thru it in MONTHS. Gnats in the room.

Upon arrival, I noticed the refrigerator wasn’t functioning. I had to turn it off completely and wait several hours before it started cooling properly. There is also no ice machine on site, so with no working fridge or access to ice, I had to visit a nearby gas station to purchase an ice chest and ice. The hallway leading to the rooms is poorly ventilated and uninviting. On a positive note, the pool is quite large, and the location is within walking distance of the beach, which I appreciated. However, I was provided a beach access code to enter when go bake to my room which was pointless. Although there is a keypad on the door, it just opens. There is also no key access at the back entrance of the hotel allowing anyone to walk in whether they have a room or not. I booked through Expedia and paid $188 upfront. However, at check-in, I was asked for a credit card for a “hold” and charged a $5 parking fee—even though the listing advertised free parking for guests. I’m also concerned that my card was attempted to be charged twice—once at check-in and again at 4:20 AM—for $176. Thankfully, my card was locked, or those charges might have gone through.

Unsatisfactory, the outside and parking situation was unexceptionable and we did not stay, we went to another hotel. The one we went to was cleaner and we had parking right outside our door. It was only $10.00 a night more and they did not charge for parking. They had a very well lit parking area

I won't go into ither small things, there is no point. You get what you pay for, in this case.

Rundown, dirty, disgusting, and unsafe. The rooms have a front door and deadbolt that we always locked when we were in the room due to the location being unsafe and homeless people and drug addicts everywhere. The back door of the room leads out to the courtyard and pool area, however the keycards for whatever are disabled, so we were locked out of room for 30 minutes until maintenance could unlock the back door. Yes, they have a physical key to unlock the courtyard door but our keycards don’t work. Their explanation was that they disable the rear door keycards for security reasons yet numerous guests were locked out of their rooms like we were, and to get to your room you had to walk all the way around to the front of the building. The rooms were filthy, sand, dead crickets, the water in the shower was pooled up and wouldn’t drain fast, there was no coffee for the coffee pot in the room, no soaps, shampoos or anything. The breakfast was supposed to last until 10 and we went there at 9 but all of the food was gone, so no free breakfast. Every night it was super loud and full of sketchy people right outside of our room which was both scary and annoying. This was the most rundown hotel I’ve ever stayed at in my entire life. The bathroom door wouldn’t close unless you slammed it super hard, so unless I wanted to wake up everybody else in my room, I had no privacy in the bathroom. The AC unit had some gross sludge on our back porch so couldn’t enjoy sitting out there.

The free breakfast was a joke.

Roach infested hotel.

Photos are NOT update of his location. There is a foul musty smell throughout of mold and mold in showers. Linens were not changed upon arrival. AC was broken. Only give you 2 towels for 4 people to a room. Ran out of towels and had roaches in both rooms we were in. The staff was friendly, I originally thought I booked ocean view room as my room SHOWS that photo but was told I did not and they were booked, which they were not since they were able to give me another room. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again with my children. They never answered phones for me to have a joining rooms or request it days before my trip. Convenient to beach, but will stay elsewhere next time. Not like the photos!

It had a bad smell, the rooms were in poor condition, many things in the bathroom were out of order, they charge you for parking when the app says it's free, the food was terrible, they only served waffles! We won't be back.

Found 5 dead roaches in room 103 within 20 minutes of checking in there was a huge live roach on our stuff in the restroom ended up checking out same time and went to a different hotel we still have not received our refund after paying for 2 nights. I have videos as well but I can only upload pictures I definitely would stay here.

Old and not clean

This hotel has really gone downhill. It's literally falling apart/ in ruins. Stray cats living in holes in the wall. "Clean" towels with stains on them. Doors that won't lock. Smells. Bugs. Somehow there were no extra pillows even though we were practically the only ones staying at the hotel. Just about the worst of the worst as far as hotel stays go.

No a/c in lobby or halls, not enough towels, disgusting dirty bathroom, not secure, poo in outdoor showers. Would’ve left but couldn’t get any money back

This room had bed bugs and the door of the porch was broken and it wasn't the right room I was handicapped I had to walk up to the stairs of my walker and the breakfast was just coffee pancakes and Cheerios and there was nothing nothing else and the the people that welcomed you was horrible there was it was terrible it was nasty nasty hotel it was like a ghetto hotel and I had bed bugs I have pictures to prove it and I will have to bring it to court to prove it if I don't get a refund about it

You literally walk out to the beach straight out of your back door on certain rooms, we got lucky we had one of those rooms without asking or paying extra. They have kind of a big patio with high wooden fences for privacy 💯. They dont do room service, now this is good n bad. Good no banging on your door early in the morning. You have to take your towels to the front for fresh towels. Room didnt have toilet paper or tissues. Best channels freeze saying no signal but who really wants tv that much on vacation.

There were no towels and the water wouldn’t drain in the tub. The sink water barely worked. The tv didn’t work at all. Was promised a view but got nowhere near the view.

the establishment was a dump. the pool was green, the room smelled so musky it was hard to breath in them, the bathroom shower grout was black and the shower floor was dirty, carpets inside and out were so dirty and needed to be cleaned. my husband went to the front desk to see if they had another romm and the girl said no and u cant get your money back. We ended up leaving aboutn1 hr after checking in andafter paying for 2 nites. Worst motel i have ever stayed in and such a disappointment.

The properties pictures dont show you what you actually stay in. Its pretty run down, cracks in walls, hot water barley working in the shower, sink leaking, food left over in the fridge from the previous customers and thats just to name a few main things. The hot breakfast they mention was cereal and make your own waffles. In the middle of the stay is when i had seen other people commenting the same about their rooms. The staff was incredibly nice especially the older lady that worked days.

This was one of our go to places over 30 yrs but they have really let it go. Grounds were unkept along with the hotel. Pool was green and trash overflowing. If it wasn’t for the large pool and delicious breakfast we wouldn’t have gone back. Well, they no longer have the wonderful breakfast like they have always had. Waffles , cereal, coffee, and kook-aid is all they have now. Sadly we won’t be returning.

The property was very old, moldy and mildew. Air barely worked. Room had broken door. Spider webs. Moldy floor. Staff very rude. Didn't care about condition of property. Was quick to say no refund. If i could rate -0, I would. The best thing about the property is that it is on beach.

First of all receptionist, wasn’t there had about six people, and line Waiting for the receptionist, didn’t know where she was at when she came back. People were asking for towels, cause it didn’t have nothing in the room. People came with their pillow. like something was wrong with them. Having trouble opening. My Door cannot open it when in to scoped out the room and restroom was bad vent was hanging. Showerhead was shooting Water off the site and flooded the restroom. I also didn’t have any towelsin my room. Took the kids to swimming pool and swimming was discussing was turning green beds are uncomfortable property has not done nothing to upgrade anything since I’ve been there 5 to 8 years ago. Will never book this place ever again. I would not recommend for anybody to stay there. This property needs to shut down and upgrade everything.

Inspected parking fee. Hummed smell room

First of all there is no elevator. The room was hot I had to go buy a fan to stay cool. The bed had dips in it. I woke up every day with back pain. The breakfast was so sad we went next door to eat breakfast and payed for it. The pool was ok the beach access was ok. But overall I will never stay here again.

A new low on hotels.com. First of all no Internet and I work from home so that was a big problem. When we did finally get Internet, it was sketchy so therefore the TV was unwatchable because it cut in and out constantly. There’s no ice machine and the pool was closed one of the three days we were There. The shower is either all hot or all cold no matter where you turn the dial. The room smelled bad and I had to beg for extra towels since there were no hand towels at all. Kind of ruined the vibe I was hoping for. Only upside the air conditioner worked! There are many better places to stay in corpus. I’m just sorry I picked this one.

I have stayed at the property in the past years this was a business trip and decided to go back to my favorite sopt and it has gone down hill. Rooms were bad old TV... dry was crack missing chunks.... floor tile cracked and chipped...shower and sink hot enough...towels were very used up this place needs a total over haul for the price they are charging

This place is a s*** hole. Don't let the pictures fool you. The exterior has wood falling. The pool is green. The grass was knee-high. There was actually a tub sitting in the grass. Rooms were dingy, there was no hot water in the sink, and there was no cold water in the shower. Mold around the tub. I could go on and on. It says it's a 2 star, I would say it's a 1 star at best.

Absolutely disgusting. Mold on the ac vents holes in the wall. Dirty shower, walls, and SHEETS had long hair when I have short hair with a fade. Disgusting and never again. Room 101 by the beach. AWFUL

It was ok but the Manger stated that they really working on the up grade, ppl complaining bout the AC and no hot water the grass needed cutting, but it just rain they got a pass on that but the pool was nice, they need to add more food for Breakfast, more then 1 creamer for the coffee, the beds are way to small need to up grade to queen beds, love the view

The front desk lady checked me into a room that people was still occupying. There was blood stain on sheets. The pool was green took 3 trips to front desk for card key to work. The hot tub wasn't hot. She was only gonna give me one room when i paid for two. The tvs didn't work any room.

Overall our stay was good. It seems as if the quality of the hotel has detiriated. Breakfast has been cut down to only waffles and cold cereal. There is not an ice machine on promises.the grounds and pool area were clean . Went to the desk several times and there was no one there. Needed to report a broken toilet. So we dealt with it on our own. Staff was friendly when interacting with them. This is our favorite place to stay in Vorpus Christi.

I talked to the front desk and offer no solutions when i asked if they could send someone to clean the restroom they told me housekeepers didn’t get there to the next day. They finally sent someone with 1 rag and windex and she still didn’t clean good. Breakfast was nothing but waffles very limited on everything. The entire place is falling apart and looks like they don’t want to invest a dime to make it better. What a shame. I’ve stayed there for the past 10yrs and this time will be my last. Microwave didn’t work and they didn’t want to change it. Please pay extra money if you have to and stay at the hotels next to it. So much better. Maybe they will be more inclined to invest in the place. It’s a dump. I saw how how they kept getting complaints from other guests constantly throughout my stay. Didn’t get many pictures and i wish i had.

I paid to stay in a suite. Instead I get there the walls have holes in it, the blankets and sheets were dirty like completely filthy, floors were all sandy from previous people's stay, no hot water, and more importantly the AC did not work properly. I asked the front to have someone come check it out or if I could switch rooms because my kids were not feeling good from a hot room and no one ever came to help. My kids got sick from being over heated so I checked out and went to another motel and still got charged for both nights. I will never stay here again

The property was very hot, run down, no elevator, and we were in a room that the air was not even on with it being 100 degrees outside, and we were put beside a room that had at least 3-4 dogs that barked all night. We checked out the next day and will not be going back. This hotel needs some serious upgrades, and if they are going to allow pets they need to be in a whole different part of the hotel than those that do not have pets. I know we won't get a refund for the early check out, but I truly believe we deserve it.

The area was a nice spot, however the room temperature was set to 61 degrees and yet was still hot even at night and we had to get fans to keep cool. The front door and balcony door were hard to open and close unless you slam them shut literally. The balcony was full of water from thr AC unit leaking. The parking area was minimal and small due to pallets of items taking up most of the spots. The beds were smaller than expected and was hard for 4 people to sleep comfortably. The area right outside the doors for the beach side had trash all in the grass, Overall the place of the hotel was great very nice to have a place on the beach that close. Just minor things here and there that I’m sure can be addressed.

The pictures online are definitely old because the property is old and needs lots of updating. There was a stain on one of the bedsheets. Only one roll of toilet paper which was half full and had asked for another to be put in when the room was to be cleaned. You only get one towel per person rather than having it stocked in the room. There was no direct access to the beach that was stated online. Breakfast consisted of cereal and waffles, though the waffle machine was caked with batter from previous use and the drink station was basically out of order. The only thing good was the property being quiet at night.

We come here often. We love it here mainly because of the access to the ocean. Last time we went we did have a problem with our front door. It wasn’t locking properly. We did show staff and they did move us to another room. It’s beautiful here! Rooms could use a little updating, but other than that…we enjoy our stay here.

Hotel is older and could use better maintenance. Pool and beach access are very good. There was a man in the lobby selling jewelry and we couldn’t walk past without him trying to sell us something. We didn’t feel we could get together with our friends in the lobby because of the jewelry man being there all the time and taking up most of the lobby. No hot water on some mornings. There was also trash around the property from Easter weekend.

The property had a good location and easy access to the beach, and a nice pool, although it needed cleaning. The room was dated and dirty, with mold in the bathroom. Electric receptacles were missing covers, the air conditioner rattled noisily, and our king size bed just had a full size blanket that didn't even cover the top of the bed. There was no warm water in the sink, which drained very slowly. We were given one towel and washcloth, and no hand towel, and only one small bar of soap.

Lots of trash on property. I can’t understand it. How much effort would it take to clean up empty cans and other trash. It’s a shame.

We’ve been to other hotels in the area but this one is more convenient and we always end up back , the staff is very friendly and easy walk to BlackBeards and Lexington. Somethings need to be updated and fixed on doors by balcony.

This hotel is perfect for the 20 something who is there to visit the beach for the weekend, it's a place to sleep. If you're looking for cleanliness and comfort for your family, this is NOT the place to be. The tub in our room was filthy. I had to ask for towels and the person at the front acted like it was an inconvenience that I needed 4 for my family of 4. Holes in the walls and bathroom door. The carpet in the room was damp feeling the entire weekend. Lots of patched up things, looks like there was a leak in the ceiling/walls recently. Dirty dirty dirty everywhere. It's old and rundown. Beds not so comfortable. No bugs thank goodness. Wifi was garbage and did not stay connected. Breakfast was ok. There was a random creepy dude sitting in the breakfast area all day the entire weekend trying to get us to buy his gems. Pool was fine for the kids, they had fun. Overall it's not the best but fine if you're just looking for a place to sleep. We did feel safe here, no issues with that.

I will say we did have a great weekend. The location was great it was so nice to be so close to the beach and pool. However, I didn’t feel our rooms were clean. When we got there it was late so we just took off our shoes and hopped in bed. The floor was covered in sand already when it was night so we hadn’t gone to the beach yet & even the beds already had sand in them as soon as we pulled back the covers. Granted I’m not sure how easy keeping the sand away would be because the room literally opens up to the beach it probably constantly blows in, it was just super uncomfortable because no matter how hard we tried there was always sand everywhere. The staff was nice enough to let me get a change of sheets because we really needed it and even borrow a broom to try to clean up some sand.

Okay. It was nice because it’s on the beach but then hotel needs a lot of repairs to make the hotel better. Our toilet was leaking water.

Don't be deceived. The first room they gave us. There was something rotting with dead bugs in one of the drawers. They moved me to a second room. The toilet had a dried pee all over it. They proceeded to move me to a third room. The drawers had trash and the carpets look like they have never been vacuumed or cleaned. I could not dare eat at that place. If the rooms were that filthy and disgusting, I can just imagine the space where they cook the food. We ended up staying the night because there is no occupancy on the nearby hotels. I had to bring in my own blankets since the sheets were dirty. And we definitely did not walk barefoot in that space. DO NOT STAY HERE!

As a Quality Inn Brand they should be embarrassed to put their name in this hotel. It is clear that no work has been done. We had trash in our second floor balcony, filthy showers, room stunk, wall falling from outside above the door. Disgusting. Clear there is more going on than just a hotel. Save your money.. spend the extra to stay at a neighboring hotel.

Super expensive for the poor quality the hotel is. It looks and run down. Many issues with our room, curtains were falling off, TV and phone didn’t work, previous occupants trash still in the room, shower had a leak at the shower head that would throw water up to the ceiling then down the wall creating a huge puddle on the floor. Tub very slippery and hand rail in the shower was falling off so you couldn’t really use it hold on while stepping in or out of the shower/tub.

To pricey, ice machines broken. Most rooms dont have a balcony, perfect area and has alot of potential. Just needs a little more tlc and it would be perfect!

The room needs a little bit of reconditioning, but clean

There was black mold on the window sills and the ceiling. There was a cockroach in the bathtub. The curtain in the bedroom was a towel that was pinned to the wall. The sink had no hot water. The wood on the door frame to the bathroom was splintering. The door to the bathroom did not shut nor open due to warpage. There was dirt and hair in the master bed in between the sheets.

Outdated property that immediately requires renovation.

Will stay again

My family and I took a trip for the Corpus Christi weekend getaway. We rated our stay as okay because the hotel was literally on the beach. However, the hotel could use some serious upgrades. The paint in our bathroom was peeling, and the exterior door had chipped paint. We also discovered roaches in our room, and the bed had dried blood on it. Additionally, the A/C unit stopped blowing cool air, and there was a foul odor throughout the hotel. Considering the price we paid, our stay should have been much cheaper!

Property in terrible condition. Needs to be closed and given a complete makeover. Property didn't feel safe. Breakfast was poor. 2 4 slotted toasters available - out of 8 slots only 2 actually work, when queried I was told - oh we really should take that away and replace it. Photographs on here must be really old as it does not look like that - rusted lamps, rotten wood, peeling paint, broken tiles, smelly towels, dirty furniture. On a plus, the bed was comfortable, even though the mattress did not fit the base and the place was quiet during the night. Dog hairs on the surfaces and what looked like dog scratches on the inside of the bathroom door. It's a real shame as it's in an excellent location, really close to the USS Lexington. The staff we spoke to were pleasant. Will never, ever return... I blame myself for not reading the reviews 😕

Do NOT believe the pictures. These pics are NOT what you see in person. Extremely dirty, ROACHES crawling on you at night, literally had two of them. Handles came off our doors and shower knobs. Splatter on walls and floors. Disgusting. Asked to get refunded second night as this was not a safe place for myself, baby, and spouse. They did this, but was not happy about it. Front desk lady was rude and even charged me an early cancellation fee. Which I did not take well considering why I was checking out early was due to poor conditions and unsafe/unhealthy environment. When I asked to speak to manager she told me I could when he arrived that evening at 11pm, and refused to call him. Needed to leave an honest review so that you too can protect yourself from this very misleading place.

The worst Quality Inn and Suites, needed handicapped room, handicap rail in bath tub was broken and I fell. My left leg is all bruised and swollen.

It dose work the price for a hotel on bad condition sealing tile falling apart bad smell

Terrible!!! If i could give it -zero stars, I would. We've stayed at this hotel before and it was great, but now it is the exact opposite. Broken bed, cleaning crew never came during the day to clean while we were out so our towels were never replaced nor our bedding, when we went down to get clean towels the front desk staff had us go back to our room to get our old towels before they would give us new towels (we would not have had to do this if they would have replaced our towels when they were supposed to clean our room), toilet would barely flush, the water from the shower would leak out of the shower to where the bathroom floor was soaking wet. I seriously doubt the bathroom was up to code. The room seemed like it was a srorage closet at one point that they haphazardly converted into another room to use for guests. We will never be going back to this hotel and I would not suggest thus hotel to anyone else.

The hotel is very outdated. There was mold in the room. There was paint peeling and a small hole in the ceiling. There was a hole where the old fire alarm used to be, which was stuffed with paper. We asked the front desk if we could have new towels, and they said we had to take our own dirty towels to the front to get new ones. The room was cold, which was a plus, and the beds were comfy. Another good thing is that it's literally a few steps from the beach. They really need to update this motel and have some maintenance on it.

I was told by the front desk personnel that Expedia would issue a refund. When I spoke to Expedia customer service, they told me the hotel refused to refund. Don't stay here.

Fake advertisement, the room I stayed in had 5 flies in it, mold on walls and refrigerator, dirty, only cold water, sheets were dirty, very disgusting. I will never stay there again. I stayed 1 night only and checked out early. Very disappointed. A waste of $400.

All was good. Older place. Hard to keep clean 100% since it’s right on the beach. Friendly environment.
