Reviews
The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the proximity to the beach, friendly staff, and clean rooms. However, there are consistent complaints about parking, breakfast options, and maintenance issues in the rooms.
- Close to the beach
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Limited parking
- Breakfast options could be improved
- 2.5/5
Location and staff. They worked with us to get us a room that fit our needs. We had stayed here a few times several years ago. It was disappointing that it does not seem like it has been maintained. It felt rundown from previous stays.
- 3/5
Walking distance to the beach Maintenance could be better as well as house keeping.
- 2.5/5
Location Old and needs some cleaning
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious. Had a good variety. Staff kept it stocked for overall quality service. N/A
- 3/5
Great place but zero amenities and very old rooms
- 4/5
Proximity to the beach! Decent prices! Free breakfast! I made and egg and sausage, 1/2/sandwich, x 2, on the run! Perfect. It's not fair for any customer to be told, that there is an ICE machine, on the first floor! When I got there, It was broken, and an employee came out of the room across the Ice Machine, and says, Oh yeah, it's not working! There is one up on the second floor. Wish there was a Courtesy Sign, visible at the front desk. "NO ICE available on the first floor!" Of course, my room was on the opposite wing, and down a flight of stairs from the working ICE Machine. Only complaint.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the breakfast; the room was very clean.
- 5/5
On the older side, price was right.
- 4/5
While our room was very clean, the ice maker on our floor did not work and there were no vending machines as the sign said. Not sure why id think an extended stay would have a pool but not only no pool, no outside shower or water hose or anything to rinse off before going to the room. There 4 days and housekeeping never once came in our room. The breakfast was ok...fruit was old and the eggs were warmed in a microwave but at least they offered something.
- 2.5/5
Close to beach No seat in shower for disabled which I am and it stated it had one
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
Front desk staff was not friendly.
- 3/5
As we walked in we weren't even greeted during check-in not even a smile . As we walked into the room the first thing we noticed was the refrigerator with rust blotches all over the front doors . Cabinets falling off . There was no fire detector they took it off . Microwave had rust spots inside also This was room 203 . .

Close to the beach Looks like I was double charged for the room
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Our second year staying here and we’re definitely coming back again.
- 2/5
We were told that housekeeping would be provided once per 3 days. After 3 days, we again were told that we would “qualify” for housekeeping on in a day, which will make it 4 day. We stayed 4 nights and got one time cleaning. While there is a sign in the room that if you need fresh towels more often just ask, we had to beg the receptionist for fresh towels and toiletries. When we asked for fresh towels, we got two (2) body towels. Breakfast is boring, the same exact food for 4 days. The last day we came downstairs for breakfast to find only one fork left for all people to use. When we asked for more forks, the receptionist said “we ran out, sorry". All together, while we still will be coming to visit the White beech next summer, we are going to stay away from this hotel.
- 1/5
I was so disappointed 😞. The furniture and carpet was filthy. Using a UV light to look for bedbugs showed disgusting stains on everything. If you wanted cleaning, it was on the 5th day. No broom was provided to clean the floor from sand after the beach. I had to place towels and trash in the hall for pickup and get towels from the front desk. Two electrical outlets were extended from the wall and the fire alarm was disconnected. We reported it, but nothing was done after saying it would be fixed. The sheets looked clean, although the UV light showed stains. No comment on what they were. Breakfast was disappointing so we ate out.
- 2/5
Location was fine we however had to ask for more towels as there was only 2 and 1 wash cloth. We also found roaches in our room Cleanliness we found roaches in our room. We had to ask for towels and wash clothes
- 3/5
The rooms had a film on the floor, so I don't recommend walking barefoot at all unless you want black feet or black socks. There was a cooked pizza left in our oven. The dishwasher was broken, so we have no idea if the dishes were clean because several had a film on them, so we washed them as we used them. At breakfast, we got there about 9:30 am, and the eggs were all gone, and the sausage was overcooked. The pot that said hot water wasn't full and squirted out lukewarm water. The attendant came out and asked another guest if they needed anything, but didn't ask anyone else or refill the eggs. I would not recommend staying here unless you are just looking for an affordable place by the beach and you will cook all your food or eat out, which is what we did.

Nothing Parking issues Room issues Odor issues I did not care for 1 thing about this experience. Building smelled like Mildew and MUSTY!
- 1/5
The ceiling was leaking, there was a terrible molding smell, the carpet was damp for some reason, and i had left my necklace but when i returned of course it was gone and the housekeepers stated they did not have it but i know for a fact it was in there when i left.
- 5/5
Didn't eat Nothing
- 4/5
I really liked the suite we stayed in, high ceilings and comfortable thick beds the AC was freezing cold and it was a nice quiet stay
- 2/5
The breakfast was possibly the worst I have experienced. I have had Field Chow with more options. Coffee ran out, sausage boiled and ran out of bread items. The person at the front desk yelled at me to use a different trash can which was just a large rolling container used to held towels
- 5/5
Nice hotel close to the beach
- 4/5
Awesome The breakfast
- 1/5
That it is close to the beach Roaches This is our second time staying here and was disappointed My wife and grandson had to a couple of roaches.
- 3.5/5
Close by the beach Staff that worked at night not friendly
- 3/5
My experience with the hotel room and everything inside the building was good. However, there is not enough parking for all the rooms. Coming to the hotel late in the evening was a problem finding parking space. I was not the only person looking for parking. There were at least 4 cars circling the lot trying to find a space. This made my overall experience unpleasant.
- 5/5
So glad I found this hotel. I will be staying there from now on anytime I visit Padre. Staff was great, the breakfast was great. It’s so close to the beach. It was just perfect.
- 3/5
This was definitely a bare minimum hotel. No closets to hang clothes, only drawers for clothes. Sheets, towels and linens were stained with blood and various colored spots. The bathtub was absolutely disgusting- we wore shoes. Broken tiles in the kitchen would have been an issue with younger kids. Breakfast ran out before 11am and was not replenished. The elevators smelled of weed the entire stay. Overall, I’d stay somewhere else for the extra cost.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
Staff was great Parking was very limited and the elevator always smelled like marijuana
- 3.5/5
The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit outdated. The breakfast was good, especially the tasty sausages. The location was convenient, and overall the hotel offered good value for the price. We were a family of four staying for two nights, but only one set of toiletries was provided. The parking lot was too small, and both nights I couldn’t find a parking space and had to park on the street. We also paid for a late check-out, but the staff repeatedly called us, came to the room, and kept asking what time we were leaving, which made the experience stressful. In addition, there was a strong smell of garbage on our floor for almost an entire day.
- 5/5
There was no pool, was good experience
- 3/5
Overall the stay was fine. The rooms are extremely out dated. The room smelt gross when you first walked in, I’m not sure if it was the carpets? Almost smelt like cat pee or something. Everything was moist in the room. It was gross feeling. The carpet was damp, the couch, the beds. There was mold in the bathroom ceiling, probably because their ceiling vent didn’t work. Giving this stay an 3 out of 5 still because the location was perfect, the staff were friendly. We felt safe in the room and all though it was tight the room fit my family of 6 perfectly. Breakfast was good the kids enjoyed it. Also like how late breakfast goes. I recommend packing your own pots and pans because the room only has 1 pot and one small pan. And hardly any other cooking items so we ended up just ordering out. Overall I would stay here again if they’d just get the moisture out of the rooms.
- 3/5
The breakfast is horrible. The place is below average. I would not recommend.
- 3/5
It was a basic hotel, our room did not have a smoke alarm which is concerning. Their continental breakfast was not good. I asked for more milk it took the front desk person a good 10min to refill it wasn’t busy for him to take that long. He was actually watching videos on his phone. Will not stay there again
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was very helpful and polite (except for the girl who checked us in, She seemed bothered). Breakfast was good (this from a picky 13 year old). Very short walk to beach.
- 4/5
Moved to this motel from another one because the first motel was absolutely horrible. This was a great change and was very welcoming. Very happy with service and accommodations.
- 5/5
Good breakfast and big rooms
- 4/5
Could use a little updating but clean… They let a car park in front of entrance which I did not understand..
- 5/5
Wished there were a pool otherwise the visit was peru
- 5/5
This is the place to be
- 5/5
Clean rooms and friendly staff
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Easy walk to the beach. The tiki bar downstairs has great food and great drinks. Free breakfast is a plus. Professional and kind staff.
- 4/5
We asked for a room with the ocean view He gave it to us Breakfast was good
- 2/5
Definitely needs updating as a funny smell and the toilet kept running the bathroom definitely needs attention the tub look nasty and old they didn't even use the same colored grout that should be used but I guess for the price it's okay for a one-nighter
- 2/5
Floors are old and dirty, boards are coming apart. Building is poorly maintained, breakfast was not restocked, when asked front desk 30 min before closing, they said “O it’s closing in 5 min, what do you want” No roll away beds. Paint is falling off, tub valve leaking water. Overall bad experience, we are not coming back!
- 2/5
Our room had a horrible moldy/wet smell. They told us it was from a past leak. They attempted to clean it again while we were out but it was horrible and over went away. We told them everyday we were there (3 day stay) and they never offered us a different room or any accommodations. They just kept telling us there was nothing they could do
- 1/5
mold in the bathroom, shower curtain was dirty, room was dirty, stained walls, no dishwasher, no utensils, etc. The only good thing about this hotel was the location.
- 1/5
The air conditioning wasn’t working properly, and both the room and parts of the building had an unpleasant odor that made our stay very uncomfortable. The curtains had visible stains, and there were areas throughout the property that appeared damaged, dirty, and even rotting. I took photos to document the condition of the room. The toilet clogged during our stay, and instead of sending maintenance, we were handed a plunger and told to unclog it ourselves. That was completely unacceptable and disgusting. We also found belongings left behind by a previous guest, which raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and housekeeping standards. To make matters worse, our room was not cleaned while we were out, even though we did not have a “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. The room phone didn’t work, so we couldn’t even call the front desk. That is a serious safety concern—what if we had an emergency? The breakfast was also disappointing. The food looked and tasted unappetizing, and we ended up not eating much of it. Parking was difficult and inconvenient. On top of that, nowhere on the website does it mention that there is a very loud bar directly beneath some of the rooms. The noise was incredibly disruptive and made it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. This was our first visit and last stay!
- 1/5
The room was terrible so dirty needed maintenance the paint was chipping. The smell was horrible. The breakfast was upsetting the place was failing . The employees were so horrible I had enjoy my stay in later years but this is the last time I will be staying there.
- 3/5
Faltaba limpieza
- 3/5
The water temp and pressure was good and ac worked good. Though we got a room with a kitchen we couldn’t cook like we planned to because the burners smoked SO bad. I was terrified I was going to set off the fire alarm. Again over all not a bad stay but I likely won’t return.
- 3/5
It was supposed to sleep 8 people it didn’t it had only 2 beds . It was supposed to have a pool it didn’t.one ceiling fan didn’t work. I had no ocean view. Staff was nice. Breakfast was nice.
- 5/5
Always my first choice when visiting Corpus Christi. Literally 1min walk to the beach. Good rate and good rooms with kitchen included
- 5/5
Perfect stay for a beach getaway!
- 2/5
The Young women at check in was great, and her kids were well-mannered.. After that things went down hill. My air conditioner was leaking, and the carpet got wet, when I told the person at the desk HE hardly responded and said he would tell someone, No maintenance person ever showed up, You would think they would at least give me another room. Squishy carpet is not fun and cold wet feet at bedtime is ridiculous. The breakfast the sausage some was under cooked others were overcooked (microwaved)and extra salty. The selections were very limited. There was fruit only 1 day-banana's The parking is horrible and inadequate, most cars there didn't have a parking pass that they give you in the window I think the patrons of the very loud bar next door were taking over the parking. Even the handicap spots. I wound up parking several times next door at the Holiday in, in the back of their lot! The hall carpet on the were not well maintained(stained) For the price this place is not worth it! I stuck it out 2 days, then I checked out and went to the Hotel across the street my last day on the Island. The beaches were great BTW!! :)
- 4/5
Close to the beach
- 5/5
Room was clean, staff was helpful, walking distance from beach, full kitchen in room, limited parking on property.
- 4/5
The only problem with the stay was the Salty Dolphin bar was having Karaoke night until the wee hours of the morning and no, they were not good singers... I would absolutely stay here again, just on the opposite side of the building. :)
- 2/5
Room smelled of pet urine. Black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and under the sink. Breakfast was sad, cold eggs, and stale bread. Tables were sticky from syrup and there was no wipes or attendants to help.
- 5/5
Clean hotel. Breakfast was good.
- 3/5
Breakfast was kept up or restocked. Parking is first come first serve. A pub is adjacent to the hotel and they use the same parking lot
- 5/5
The rooms were clean, with plenty of cool air, hot water, and linens. Staff very friendly and helpful
- 4/5
Great location staff friendly nice little tiki bar close by
- 2/5
No funciona el extractor del baño… no se puede recorrer la cortina…no tiene alberca
- 5/5
Great place, rooms are clean, some minor details that need to be improved like broken tiles, bath tub repairs. But overall, great service and amenities. We enjoyed the stay and will go back again.
- 1/5
Bitter Disappointment in Every Way. Wyndham should be ashamed to have its name associated with this miserable place. Room was dirty -- on check-in we found a pile of damp, dirty towels in the wardrobe closet. When I took this disgusting pile down stairs to the main desk, the desk clerk did not apologize; he said nothing, just put on a pair of disposable rubber glovers and scooped up the mess like it was standard operating procedure. Then there are the live cockroaches crawling on the kitchette counter. Room maintenance was horrible -- broken handle on bedroom dresser, hole in the bedroom rug, non-stop dripping sink faucet, scum on the bathtube faucet. Hallways dirty -- an old pile of lint and filth in the corrner baseboard next to elevator door, crumbs on the hallway rug for 2 days; in the 1st Flr hallway, two large bins permanently located around the corner from the main lobby, one for dirty laudry and one for trash. Bring your own soap, shampoo and conditioner because the only soap provided is a ridiculously small bar about 2 inches x 2 inches; no body wash, shapoo or conditioner in the bathroom. There is an open-air bar at the front of the property that operates until 2am; it features live music that is so loud that it is impossible to sleep in the front rooms. Oh yes, the pictures on the Expedia site are probably 10 years old. The property as it is today does not resemble the advertisement on Expedia. Never, Never, Never Book Here.
- 5/5
Right across the street from beach access. Close to restaurants and stores on the island. The rooms have a small kitchen with a dishwasher, plates and utensils. The room was clean. Parking is kind of tight but not a deal breaker. Customer service was excellent. The free breakfast was your typical hotel free breakfast fair. Room and facilities were clean. Good value.
- 5/5
We appreciated the full size refrigerator in the room and the proximity to the beach!
- 4/5
Plus they have ovens and a full size fridge, and the free Breakfast is mini omelets, Sausage, Pastries and the always appreciated Texas waffle maker. It's right across from the beach. Cold AC. I was pleasantly surprised. It's no luxury stay but For a value beach trip I'm in.
- 3/5
It was Okay, nothing great about the property.
- 4/5
Location was good. Room was good (roomy with kitchette). Breakfast downstairs at best was average (out of items, no coffee, etc). Some staff were very helpful but others were incovienced (morning weekend front desk).
- 1/5
Room had no electricity
- 4/5
We loved our stay. It was a little outdated , but other than that , it was the perfect stay.
- 3/5
The room was clean when we arrived and the view of the ocean was great. Downside is that we had to ask for clean linens and towels because they did not show up to clean our room at all. The breakfast was same food every morning and the best part was just a normal waffle. For the price you get what you pay for I guess.
- 5/5
Property is close to the beach without having to pay a lot for access. Rooms were nice with two beds for easy sleeping arrangements. Nice view from the upper floors. Only issue we had was parking is a premium. Had to park on the street both nights due to limited space for the property.
- 5/5
Great place great stuff only thing parking lot small
- 2/5
Lukewarm water at best, no matter the time of day. Phone in room didn't work to contact the front desk. I reported the phone and was told some work some don't. Then the diect line phone number should be posted. Not the wyndham 800. Number. Parking is a NIGHTMARE, the tiki bar next door quickly fills the hotel lot. Oh, when you check in they give you a pass for your car and signs are posted all over the place. However nothing is enforced. Several nights we had to park on the street . When we spoke with staff, the reply was they don't get paid enough to deal with the harassment of telling people to move their car Or drunks coming into the hotel, wanting a boot removed. Why ask, just do it. The hotel is out dated, We have stayed here several weeks over the past 4 years. We agreed this will be the last time.
- 5/5
Muy buena habitación y muy buena la atención
- 5/5
Everything in the hotel was super. Room and breakfast. Need more parking but it worked out! We will return!!
- 4/5
Nice location
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
clean room but a little musty smelling
- 2/5
Our room wasn’t ready at check in. The air conditioner in the second bedroom was broken and stuck at 66°. Because it constantly ran, the carpet in front of the air conditioner was wet. The water pressure was extremely low in the shower and sink. The mattress in the pullout sofa was rusty and hard to lay on. The room had a clump of hair on the carpet that was not ours. There were signs of wear and rust everywhere, with “patching” repairs done. For what we paid, I regret staying here.
- 5/5
Clean room, ocean view from my room.. over all great location and place
- 2/5
Some kind of mold on all the cabinet doors that we wiped off. Noise and music from the bar that is right next to the hotel kept us awake well past 1 am. Curtains did not block out the street lights so made for a horrible night's sleep with the light coming in. The unit we were in was a bit run down and the mold on the cabinets was probably the source of the weird smell. Breakfast was small with limited options but okay. Staff was nice. Wouldn't stay here again based on our experience.
- 5/5
Close to beach bars and beach at a great price. Comfortable room
- 5/5
I enjoyed staying here. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly. Great location!
- 3/5
It’s a typical Texas coast hotel. They do have a local bar next to the hotel, so that was nice.
- 5/5
Excellent stay! The staff was friendly and professional, the room was clean and comfortable, and everything was well maintained. Great location and smooth check-in. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
- 5/5
The property was comfortable and clean. We cooked in the kitchen provided. Good hotel and reasonably priced, will stay again!
- 4/5
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable
- 4/5
Staff was excellent and Breakfast was fresh
- 5/5
Breakfast was great. Nice clean place. Felt safe.
- 5/5
Clean room and surprisingly quiet. Staff were very helpful
- 1/5
First room smelled completely like piss!!! We couldn’t find another hotel in the area so they moved us to another room and we stayed. Coffee was extremely weak. We will never come back to this place.
- 4/5
It literally is a 2 minute walk to the beach. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again!
- 5/5
Beach view. Clean. Stove,fridge, microwave.
- 4/5
Nice staff, walking distance to beach, clean room, had separate bedrooms, out dated, but good stay all in all
- 4/5
The staff is always very helpful and friendly. The room could have been cleaner such as carpet being cleaned and shower still had hair from someone previously. Overall I would stay here again and would recommend it.
- 4/5
Somewhat of an ocean view. Parking was not good, we had to park in the street.
- 3/5
I had limited interaction with the staff, as the only person I encountered was the check-in receptionist, so I cant comment on the staff. There was a noticeable foul odor in the lobby area, which discouraged me from trying the breakfast offered. Parking was also a challenge. The lot is quite limited, and when we returned in the evening, there were no available spaces, forcing us to park on the street. Overall, while the stay had some comfortable aspects, there are a few areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience.
- 5/5
Great place
- 5/5
Great location. Nice room . Good value
- 4/5
Clean room and very convenient location
- 3/5
Didn't go to the gym and there was no shops near by
- 1/5
Falling apart, broken promises, no room service and broken elevator. Staff was great however the owner is not invested into this Hotel. Tile was cracked in the bathroom. Shower was missing tile too. Toilets were clogging, and kitchen cabinets falling apart. The hotel did not provide enough pans for cooking. We called to ask for a pan to cook and they told us they don’t have any. We had a long stay there. We were forced to buy cleaning supplies including a mop and broom and cleaning agents. Also, If you go have dinner and come back you will have no parking because there is a bar downstairs and the owner of the bar is part owner of the Hotel and lets the bar hoppers park in the Hotel parking spots. I had to complain and harass the staff to get the new owner which owns the bar to tell the bar customers to move their vehicles. Waiting 4 hours for a parking spot is not acceptable. To add to this, let’s talk about the “no room service”. If you need towels or anything else, you have to call yourself to get them. If you want to relax and enjoy yourself, don’t stay here! As of now I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone because I do not want to catch backlash for recommending it. They used to be great. Now it’s just a mess.
- 4/5
I didn't use the gym.
- 3/5
The room was clean, but furniture is old and over used. The wall painting frame was screwed to wall. The office chair had worn & torn vinyl. Lobby & and breakfast rooms were nice. Breakfast was ok. Best part was the walk across the street to beach. Great location. Every restaurant and bar was within a short drive.
- 1/5
Breakfast was a c plus. I had to wait on parking another Day. Thats not right. I am hundred % disabled veteran I had major surgery this week. Dont waist your time for money we paid it was a waist of time. As handicap and veteran it was a a bad experience. Did not see house keeping they dint come by rooms every day. Please remember God doesn't likw ugly And
- 5/5
I stay here every time I go to whitecap beach and it’s always a great stay! Staff is always pleasant, abr complimentary breakfast is great. The only down side is they had no clean towels to spare but it’s not a huge deal. I highly recommend it here.
- 4/5
And a small peek at the gulf
- 5/5
Excellent service and the rooms were clean and comfty
- 4/5
Great location, great atmosphere and great service.
- 5/5
Excellent room in all aspects.
