Wyndham Garden Hotel Austin

Accidentally got assigned the wrong room. Minimise such occurrences.

Desk clerk was helpful and nice, however, hotel is poorly maintained from my perspective. Hallway carpet has layers if dirty stains in it. As for the room, it smelled musty as entering it, TV remote missing, tried to call the desk and found phone not working. Thermostat barely hanging on the wall, toilet loose and wobbly. I stayed there a year ago and and it wasn't the greatest then. Will not be going back.

If you’re ever visiting Austin for the first time I highly recommend staying here because it’s central hub for many great spots in Austin to visit.

There was no breakfast offered unless you pay a fee for it. So I was disappointed with no continual breakfast, thanks for nothing! I ask the check out time on Friday front desk and was told 12:00 . My son took me to breakfast Saturday , we came back and I went up to my room 11:00 am and my door was wide open , no maid in the room??? I got my stuff and went down to the front ( a young man) was at the front desk and I told him and gave my key cards. Not happy!!! Plus ( I told house keeping) on the second floor it smell like the sewer, horrible, so did my bathroom. Not a lovely stay ?

Clean room, free on site parking and the amenities were cool. Overall 10/10

Not satisfied with my stay since I got to room 220 lock not working. This is a safety issue. I did get another room to stay. Second not happy having a man that's from management knocking my door before check out.

Clean and close to everything

Nothing This place possibly has mold. I work in construction management and the air was very bad. They try covering the musty smell with a strong floral fragrance but it only makes it worse. The hotel did not have hot water and they offered a refund but the front desk attendant was new and did not know how to complete the refund process. I have still not received my 2 night refund.

I enjoyed my vacation with my boyfriend and sister. Room was clean and staff was wonderful. Definitely recommend staying here in Austin!

some parts of the hotel, like the pool area, looked run down

The place had active leaks that made the entire place smell musty- the restaurants were barely open, when they were they told me they couldn’t serve me as it was cash only, when I did get food it was disgusting. The front desk ladies were kind, but not a lot could be done and I do regret booking here.

The location and I have been there before. The staff The smell of mold the blood on the sheets the over filled pool no phone in the room so I left a day early and then they charged me more money and refused to answer my phone calls.

Ideal spot to stay with clean rooms, clean linens, a good shower, helpful staff, and continental breakfast!

Staff was great

ROOM WAS CLEAN, BUT THERE WAS NO HOT WATER TO TAKE A SHOWER IN THE MORING, LET FRONT DESK KNOW THAT, SHE SAID THE MAINTENANCE MAN STEP OUT FOR A WHILE.

Nice stay, clean room and good shower pressure. Pool was kind of dirty and towels were not available by the pool.

I like the woman at the desk and the shuttle driver. I arrived early and wanted to check in to get to work. I was told I had to pay $30.00 to do that. I waited in the lobby for over an hour and then given the key to my room. I was given a horrible room right across the hall from house keeping. It was so loud there all day with staff running back and forth, people talking, carts wheeled back and forth, impossible to get any work done. I went to the bar to order dinner from the restaurant which did not seat people. It took forever to get the meal. In the morning I went to get a coffee with milk to go and I was told that they didn’t have that.

The location was perfect. The carpert in the hotel was filty. The room smelled of meldew.

The room is very spacious. The AC works great! The restaurants in the lobby are great if you need a good meal!

The bed felt bigger than a king which was great. Room was easy to find and the view was good. The room was also very clean and comfortable. I had a thing about the toilet being placed at an angle in the restroom. It threw us off a little as it was not parallel to the tub. also, the lobby was warm and humid alot of the time so it was uncomfortable to hang out in while waiting for the rest of our party to come downstairs.

Rooms were a little undersized, but not horrible

The room was a very good size and the beds were very comfortable. Large restroom that was also very nice everything was very clean. I just didn't realize that the breakfast was a restaurant instead of continental, but it was fine I adjusted my plans.

Downside is that the common area floors are really dirty - especially the hall carpeting outside our room. The A/C unit does not work properly with the room being very humid and either too cold or warm. Our towel never dried during our stay. Last, the toilet flush was broken, so we had to lift the tank top and left it open to make it flush properly. Also sorry to add that we were greeted with 'Got your id?' when we arrived, which felt less than welcoming. We love working with Expedia where the ratings are usually spot on, but this property should be a '7' not an '8'. It was not terrible, but it was challenging to stay here.

Laid back, quiet and clean. Nothing fancy. Awesome location!!

The hotel was clean and the location was perfect for our needs. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping available nearby.

Definitely an older hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. The room was adequate. The price was good. Overly scented and carpet stained in hallways. Beds were firm. Room had vinyl flooring which was a first for me. Elevator was warm. Amenities were acceptable.

Hotel was not as described and was extremely disappointed. The room could have been cleaned better. Rooms are extremely outdated, bed was uncomfortable, shower & sink not didn’t drain, one of the nightstand drawers were broken. Staff didn’t offer any assistance with these things and upon checking out they didn’t even ask how our stay was…. Avoid at all costs. I’d like my money but but seems impossible

The location is close proximity to downtown Austin. The rooms were so stuffy and humid. The AC wasn’t working too great. The restroom was smaller than most other places I’ve stayed.

Not a bad hotel just for the night, but any longer than that you'd be better off staying somewhere else. Free parking, but somewhat sketchy clientele and dated room and hallway interiors that sorely need a refresh. Bathroom was not great and smelled musty. Overall, it matched my expectations for a franchise hotel owned by an indian.

I truly loved how much this hotel had to offer. It had a lot of meeting rooms, large entrance lay out, restaurants inside the hotel. It had a very welcoming feeling. I loved the scent in the room. My biggest appreciation was the young lady, Nisha who took such great care of us. We arrived early...too early to check in. There wasn't any double bed rooms available but, allowed us to sit inside & wait for our award ceremony we were attending in Austin. As soon as a room became available, she informed us quickly. We were able to get ready in our own room in comfort before our ceremony. Thank you Nisha so much for taking care of us!!!

Great place to stay

This was my first time staying at a Wyndham. I really liked the experience. I like that they have food service. They have good accommodations. It was in a perfect location for me!

The toilet barely flushed . The shower and sinks were backing up. Tried to call the front desk for towels and the phone didn’t work . Walked downstairs and asked for towels , the woman said she would send some up when they were dry , the never did . Would not recommend staying here if you want something nice and clean . They do have a bar , which can help mask how gross the hotel is .

Online images are deceiving. It smelled musty

The hotel was alright. The staff was ok. Just attention to detail is a key. The cleaning staff forgot to put wash clothes in the room. I asked the front desk staff to help with issue but I never got the wash clothe. No one called to verify the issue too. If I had to go back to Austin, I would most likely stay some where else.

A little noisy with doors slamming.

Best pet friendly place in Austin. $75 for entire stay, we have 4 dogs, most places limit or charge extra daily. Staff were fantastic present and helpful. Facility was quiet with in house bar and patio.

I’ve stayed there multiple times and I have returned because the staff is nice and very helpful, Rooms are clean and comfortable.

The Hot tub was out of service.

The room we stayed in had a powerfully strong odor in the bathroom that permeated into the bedroom. Don’t know if it was the disinfectant or a perfume, but it was awful. We were so tired from traveling that we just dealt with it. We turned on the exhaust fan in the bathroom and shut the door. The next morning I noticed the smell in the front lobby as well. The hotel room was roomy and clean, just the smell was overwhelming.

Most dog friendly in Austin. $75 pet deposit for entire stay. We have 4 dogs. Staff was very nice and incredibly helpful.

If you only want to sleep in a bed, this place is ok. However, if you want any kind of amenity at all, like a working toilet, I'd advise to go somewhere else. The toilets hardly flush, we had to ask for more toilet paper upon checking in because we started out with half a roll. Ice maker on the floor was broken. The TV signal evidently is having trouble because we could hardly watch the it due to it constantly lagging and cutting out. You can just tell this place is run as cheaply as possible. It was a cheap rate, and now I know why.

EVERYTHING WAS GOOD AND IF THERE WAS ANY ISSUES THEY RESOLVED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. WOULD STAY AGAIN

The only redeeming thing I can say is that breakfast was very good and also when I told the girl at the front desk about the wooden blocks next to the bed and how dangerous they were, she apologized and had me fill out an incident report for an injury. I sincerely hope this property takes my complaint seriously and does something about that issue as it is dangerous, especially to someone elderly OR someone who’s not steady on their feet. For reference, I’m 38 and my foot hit that block and I almost lost my balance when I fell forward. That is a serious accident waiting to happen!! Please see attached photos of the blocks by the bed.

Front check in staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciate the free shuttle to and from the airport. I found the hallway carpet on the fourth floor very dirty. Carpet needed a good cleaning. My room was clean and comfortable.

The bar offered a decent drink selection. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. They had smart TVs. Walls were thin in rooms.

Room was properly cleaned and organized, excellent housekeeping staff. Grounds well trimmed and pool nice and clean. Cons: Restroom exhaust fan not working fan packed with dirt. Sink faucet needed to be greased. Shower handle loose and shower water spout diverter hardly stop water rise. Lots of water being wasted.

Needs upgrades badly. Moldy walls in our bathroom in rm 230. Hallways stink. Very friendly staff!

Hotel overall was good. I'm not a fan of those hotels that their water stays standing in the bathtub when showering, or sinks not draining quickly, but other than that everything was clean and great for what we needed. I'd stay here again if needed in the future.

Easy check-in but room smelled dank and stuffy.

Toilet in my room didn’t work and there were a bunch of gnats/flies. I had to switch rooms and then the sink was clogged.

Rooms are clean and property is very clean and the restaurant offered great service and food the only thing that was not good is the receptionist in obtaining house keeping service for our room she was not helpful when I asked for room service she just told me they will get there when they get there I found it very rude and room service came too late so I never got a housekeeper to clean my room

Large room with a comfortable bed. Bar with food was comfortable spot. Nice pool.

While the overall cleanliness was good and the staff were very friendly & helpful, I was disapointed that the hot tub was broken and the bar was closed which is weird for a weekend. Also, it was advertised as breakfast included which was not the case.

Toilet wound refill after flushing consistently

Very dirty room

The room wasn’t as nice as the pictures in the website. It was run down and very motelish. Not what I expected from a Wyndham.

One of the reviews on google mentioned the bottom sheet is being put on sideways, I also found this to be true, after two nights the bedding was such a mess I had to pull all the covers off and make the bed properly myself. Around the halfway part of my stay, I asked for my room to be cleaned. The result was honestly a little odd. Cups & coffee station were refreshed, but not tp, tissues, or soap. I received a fresh hand towel & washcloth, but not large towels. The beds were made but with the same sheets as i already had (I could tell because they were mismatched & had sharpie stains all over them). For some reason, they were again made with the bottom sheet sideways (??!!). Virtually all the fitness center equipment was broken or questionably functional & the jets in the hot tub did not work. The wall unit thermostat was not accurate. I appreciated the free coffee in the lobby every morning, but the rest of the items for purchase seemed frequently out of stock. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Staff was nice. Probably wouldn’t stay again, but would be a good choice for someone who wants to be close to DT without paying a lot.

The hotel itself especially the rooms need to be renovated.

First room AC not working. We had to repack and move to another room. It was right above the bar and pool area. The music didn't go off until after 11:00 even though no one at the pool which was unheated. Hot tub was out of order also. Overall a disappointment.

I paid for a casita suite which I thought would’ve been better than a regular room. It was average not very clean. The water in the shower took forever to warm up. Our sink broke and the water would not stop running. We had to get then to just turn the water off to that sink. Luckily there was another.

We found the manager on duty to be very helpful and professional!
