Super 8 by Wyndham Austin University/Downtown Area

Room was incredibly dirty. Shower was very moldy. Will never stay at a Super 8 again.

Pet friendly, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Maybe a cleaner pup section.

The room was very humid, the shower that water go all over the floor, I was awakened at 7:00 in the morning by gunshots and cops that lasted for the next hour coming by with their sirens on, not someplace I will stay again in fact I'm getting tired of Wyndham.!

It's comfortable place with helpful staff.

Nothing I ended up not staying!!! I think its bull shit to have to pay for a deposit at this over run drug infested motel!!! $100 for a deposit for this place is ridiculous and absurd. I might pay a $5 deposit but $100 ur out of ur mind!!!

Complementary breakfast was pretty nice, I really liked the waffles. Staff was helpful when we had to change rooms due to an out of order elevator on our first night. Location was great for the reason we were in Austin. There was a sticky spot on the floor that didn't seem to want to come out despite repeated cleanings from room service. Someone had smoked in our room previously and we could smell it for the entire week of our trip.

The location was nice it was easy to get to but still close to the main road. We had to be switched rooms due to the toilet not flushing, once we switched the TV didnt work, the ac leaked, the bathtub felt like the bottom was going to fall through while you where showering, the water would take forever to warm up, and then immediately got cold. On the last morning we woke up to the floor soaked with water from the ac, and the toilet would not flush. There were homeless people hanging out in the pool area because it was not locked. Only the ice marker on the first floor worked, and the water/juice dispenser located in the lobby went out on the first day of our 5 day stay. The breakfast only included cereal, toast, and pancakes, which is less than I've gotten from other places. And at some point between the room and the ice machine there were roaches floating inside my Stanley cup. I have a flip top lid so it could of only come from when I had it open adding water and ice to the cup. The bed wasn't too terrible, but the blanket was paper thin and more of a decorative sheet. Which ended up not being a huge issue as our ac didnt keep the room very cold. When we checked in we were not told that you had to ask for house keeping during your stay, and where not given the option. We were only provided the two towles and a single rag for our 5 day stay and when I asked for more they acted like I was wanting to take it all with me. Overall I was not satisfied with our stay at all. My husband picked it because it was closer to what we were in town for, and wanted the cheaper price, but after the first night he apologized for taking us out of the hotel id originally picked.

Poor Service, dirty and disgusting room, put on some gloves and literally asked for bleach so I can clean and went to buy sheets to sleep on!!! There’s Mold on the ceiling!!!

My room did not have a smoke detector fire code violation and the shower was molded. The room door gets stuck therefore difficult to get out another fire hazard.

They did not clean the room through out my stay there and they did not credit back my deposit

The room was too old, the top blanket was too old and have holes on it. The restroom floor was kind of dirty and the shower was too old and has mold on the floors edges . The room has a strong odor smell like cigarettes.

Of all my travels, this hotel is in the top 5 of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The first non smoking room they put us in reeked of cigarette smoke as well as other unknown odors. They did move us to another room. This one didn't have the cigarette smoke odor, but did have foul odor. The floors were not clean, there was black mold in the shower, roaches around the sink, and very noisy all throughout the night. I usually check the area out via google maps prior to booking a room but was unable to do so this time. I won't make that mistake again. I would be giving this hotel negative stars if possible.

Rooms were smelly n did not like the property

I did not expect anything special. I did hope to not have trash bags sitting out of my room for 2 days especially since they weren't mine. 90° weather with trash bags sitting down the hallway outside and a pool so gross you couldn't see the bottom. The only reason why I chose that place was the pool. I guess I'll have to choose a cleaner rundown Motel. Funny part is they have a really old sign on the side of the building that says new pool. I would have rather swam in the creek. And don't get me started on the bathroom or dark liquidy stuff on the floor under the bed frame. It served its purpose but geez I really wish I could have gone swimming and not had to deal with it nasty trash bags. Now if you're looking for felonious activities this is exactly where you want to stay. Welcome to all of Austin.

This place was terrible I wouldn’t advise no one to stay here, I have a dozen pictures to prove it. I called and ask for manger he said manger wasn’t there so I told him what my problem was and I ask him to come up and take a look he said 30 min and I said I needed another room or my money back he said I would need to take that up with whom I booked it through but he never showed up The bathroom was dirty looked to be mold in the shower along with dirt on the shower floor toilet was dirty, walls dirty, wall socket was missing, window curtains dirty among other things. It’s always good to travels with your own towels and blanket. Everything looks good not always so. This was the worst hotel

The staff was nice. The bathroom was dingy and dirty. The towels were simply left on the bed haphazardly. There were signs of roach sroppings near the outlets.

The place was a bit rundown. Very noisy next to the highway. The bed itself was comfortable.

I booked a month in advance I thought you know the room I was going to get was you know decent room you know maybe something on their first floor I was on the third floor everything was broken there was a huge hoe on the wall when you open the door The towel rocket was broken It smelled very fall there was a piece in the restroom that was falling off as well The water pressure was horrible no hot water was like lukewarm The beds were horrible very lumpy not comfortable at all whatsoever The bedding they give you as blankets to cover yourself It's like a drape basically yeah I know it was bad what you pay for is not what you're getting.

It's a run down motel. The room smelled of mildew and smoke. The TV remote did not work

Late Friday night, I checked in. The lady there was very nice! She asked me what housekeeping did I need? I told her I didn’t need the bed changed but everything else was fine! Maybe more towels! (No towels, no trash taken out) It went downhill from there! The first night, a man loudly, knocked at my door, several times @3AM and a couple doors on either side!I was freaking out! Called front desk, nothing was done! The only ice machine working was at the main office! When I asked for ice, the bag that goes in the ice bucket wasn’t even 1/4 filled. He said the ice was clumped together, and that was all he could get!(ever heard of a hammer dude?) He said come back later for more? Then, I told him about the man knocking on my door @3AM! He said, Oh, he probably got the wrong room, as he chuckled!! I was scared to death!! I asked for extra towels because I had spilled coffee, that I brought, and used up all the towels! He told me to go back up to my 3rd floor room and bring him the dirty ones to exchange!(Sorry, not my job!) Funny thing, they were selling their towels because SO MANY people were asking for the plain white, cheap hotel towels! LOL! The only coffee maker was at the main office area, where continental breakfast was offered! What a joke! Fruit, toast, donuts, cereal and you weren’t allowed to leave w it (isn’t it “on the GO” breakfast?) Lesson learned! You get what you paid for? Never going back!

I spoke with the front desk advising I would be checking out, he agreed that he understand and I could do so. After I’ve left the premises which he was also aware because I called and told him, he allowed someone under my reservation to come and extend the stay within the hotel. He also accused and charged me for smoking in the hotel because he found smoking content in the TRASH where it belong and wouldn’t acknowledge that I’m seen ON CAMERA multiple times coming in and out of my room to smoke in my vehicle. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! When I tried to clarify my issue he just sat the phone down and continue to speak to another staff member in another language. Spoke over me.

When we entered the room the fire detector was hanging from the ceiling and beeping. When we complained we were given another room. This room did not have a remote control for the TV. We had to ask the front desk for one. The room was shabby. There were holes in the bed cover and the black out shades. The next morning I couldn't get the shower to work. The front desk came to unstick the shower control.

The staff was fine. The area was rough. Breakfast was toast and waffles. They took my $60 deposit and never returned it. Calling them in the morning.

Room is non smoking yet reeks of stale smoke. Room is supposed to have coffee maker but does not. Constant trouble opening room door with key card.,.it has failed to work multiple times in two days requiring trips to reception.

We have stayed at other Super8s before without problems, but here we checked out immediately despite our non-refundable two night prepaid cost. The exterior and parking lot was rundown and the room smelled musty, had cigarette burns through the comforter, dings and marks on the wall, and a footprint stained on the fitted sheet. At that point we were not interested in trying to find another room on property and paid for a nearby hotel that felt much safer and cleaner.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, the price per night looks nice, but there’s nothing but homeless people there around the motel and staying inside the rooms. They had a crack head in a room right next to us slamming doors and making a lot of noise. Scaring my wife and kids all night. They kept insisting for us to move instead of kicking that person out for making a noise disturbance. The manager says that he won’t refund my money unless the “higher” management approves the refund due to it being booked on Expedia. I’ll be contacting my bank to dispute the charge for this ridiculous service. Not worth it and would rather sleep outside or in my car than stay at this place again.

The crime in the area was very bad. There was a signficant population of homeless who one 2 different night durring the stay attempted to break in to our vehicles. There was no breakfast any of the days due to the homelss population coming in as soon as it was put out and loading up. When we asked the staff if they could replinish they said they were told they couldn't do anything about the homeless taking the food and they weren't able to put more out.

Super thin blanket, froze all night even after adjuating the ac. Water shut off for hours. Noisy by the highway.

Very old and outdated. Had to change rooms three times. First time the shower didn’t work. The faucet flung off and was spraying water. The next room the TV didn’t work. Feel bad for writing a bad review because the front desk lady was nice and was trying to be as helpful as possible but it was her resources that lacked heavily.

Chair upholstery needs repair. Musty smell. Mold/mildew in bathroom. Toilet not cleaned. Shower finish was deteorating. I did not enjoy my stay and I was happy to leave asap.

It’s great for the price 100% but maybe tell the Cleaning staff to clean under the furniture from time to time because I’ve dropped things and went to pick it up and saw dust and other people‘s trash. Which I ignore. But it is a turn off. I will continue to stay at this location when need be. Thank you!

There was an ironinh board holder but no board or iron. There was no coffee pot. There was not a towel paper holder in bathroom and bathtub needed to be scrapped. No plug even if you wanted to tske a bath. The hot tub in pool ares was broken but pool seemed nice. Grounds were pretty and lobby and breakfast area very nice. Breakfast was typical but good. Chrckim and checkout handled welll Although price was reasonable and cloae to UT campus we would not stsy here again.

However... great location, the bed lulled me to sleep...and the price was amazing. Oh....and the staff is very nice. I'd stay there again.

At check-in the receptionist was trying to get me to pay their rate for the room instead of the rate i was given on Expedia, she continued to let me know that it didnt reflect on her side and she had no way of knowing any other information other than what she could see. The room was WAAY LESS than advertised , burns in the bedding, pillows were EXTREMELY lumpy, room smelled mildewy and damp. We had literally three towels, a face a hand and a bath. Tub looked DIRTY AND MOLDY, not properly cleaned. Walls in bathroom looked moldy. Light in bathroom flickered off and on ALL NIGHT LONG. Hairdryer had no plugin attached. No iron or ironing board in room, had to go to front desk to ask for one and after looking in different rooms finally came back with bare metal ironing board, no padding and no cover. Will not be staying at this facility again. Management needs to work on cleanliness and equipment of the rooms. NOT WORTH the money in any regard. Very disappointed.

Mold in the bathroom

Poor front desk service, poor breakfast, many items in the room not working, bad odors in the room, house keeping will not clean the room if you stay more than 1 night, covid is over. Poor rating.

Bathrooms are nasty I switched rooms because the toilet and bath tub and just settled for the bathroom in the second room and how dirty it looked due to just that or the modeling of the building .. shouldn’t charge a deposit rather we get it back or not .. and the hot water took forever to get hot!!!! Didn’t even go swimming or try breakfast based off how the property looked !!

Comfortable bed clean room, quiet

The room had a moldy smell the bed cover had stains. There was an outlet on the wall with no cover. In general the room itself was clean but it was these things that made me leave just being there 5 minutes

Rooms open to the outside and I could see gaps around the edges of the door. The first thing I noticed when I arrived in the room was the weird smell. I may have gone too cheaply on this one. Looks like it used to be nicer. The bathtub was chipped and there seemed to be a lot of soap residue but the shower was strong and the sink was outside the toilet room. The floor was sticky so we wore our shoes the whole time. This room had a refrigerator and a microwave, but we did not try them. We stayed 3 days because we had already paid. The smell lessened. Cleaners came on Friday. We were gone, but they left fresh towels and also turned off the light/fan combo we had going in the bathroom to dry out our previous towels.

Ran out of hot water. On the wall it look like a cockroach was painted over. Not worth the savings in my opinion

I dont necessarily think it was dirty, but it was very run down. There were cigarette burns on the top bedcover; the tub was very chipped and slightly dirty. Lastly, the room had a smell that wouldn't leave even after spraying my perfume several times. It did ok for someone like me w low expectations, but could have done better.

For the price, it was fine. My mattress needed replaced and the hot water in the morning was a lil less than hot due to everybody using it in the morn. Other than that, location was great near food and restaurants. Also, easy access to the freeway

The property was dated, my room not very clean, and the breakfast options were not good. Location was convenient, but that's the best part.

Internet restricted on what sites you could visit. A CLEAN ROOM IS ALL YOU GET.
