Reviews
The hotel's location is its strongest point, being close to downtown and various attractions, making it a convenient choice for many guests. However, the cleanliness and condition of the rooms are major concerns, with several guests reporting issues with bugs, dirt, and outdated facilities. The staff's friendliness is inconsistent, with some guests praising their helpfulness while others report rude behavior.
- Convenient location close to downtown and attractions
- Affordable pricing compared to other options in the area
- Cleanliness issues, including reports of bugs and dirt in rooms
- Outdated facilities and maintenance issues in rooms

- 4/5
Good price for being close to downtown and the state capital. The rooms were quite even though the facility is next to the freeway, The breakfast selection could have healthy options. The fruit was gone and not replenished and there was no yogurt available.
- 4/5
TV was buffering almost constantly. Otherwise a very clean room, nice and cool, awesome water pressure and comfortable bed.
- 3/5
The room was older and was clean and tidy. The bed was good. Maybe the bed was to hard for some folks but it was good with me. The air-conditioner worked well. I reserved an "accessible room". There was nothing accessible. Still had a low toilet and there were no hand rails in the bathroom. The TV did not work. I was told the TV was on the maintenance list. Only one outlet worked in the room I was to tired to want to change rooms. I met 2 other couples in the parking lot and they mentioned they had changed rooms twice. This review asked me to rate the amenities. Other than the breakfast and ice i dont beleive there were ane amenities. Not having amenites was okay with me
- 2/5
When I checked in the young man was rude when I asked questions, he also didn’t answer or call back when I rang the front desk to inquire about the television not working, the curtains had mold and dust on them, there was hair in the tub and the faucet dripped the whole time, there was dust inside the pictures, and there were tiny bugs on the sink. The picture used in advertising was fake. I will not be returning to this hotel.
- 3/5
The location was ideal but the hotel itself needs a lot of updating. I felt a bit uneasy because the doors and parking didn’t really make me feel secure. It appears there may be homeless living here, so you kind of get what you pay for. The bed & room were very comfortable and clean for the most part. I won’t say it was real bad, but looks can be deceiving. The surrounding people were friendly. A lot of road construction around the whole area! Lots of restaurants in the area. I would stay there again if I had to.
- 4/5
A plus side was it being 18 minimum check in age. I’ll be definitely be using this hotel anytime we are in the area
- 5/5
Good to sleep overnight. Nothing g fancy
- 2/5
Dark streets. Hit a cutb and blew a tire. Started looking for a toe truck at 8. Showed up at noon No place open to fix it before Monday.1 wasted day.
- 5/5
Right next to downtown and a short distance from everything else.

Property close to downtown.. Loud noise, someone start banging at our door
- 2/5
Great staff and a nice breakfast Tried and dated with a noisy A/C unit could do with a refurb

We purchased the insurance that was offered with the booking because of the possible need NOT to travel to Austin for court. We found out the evening before we were to leave and of course it was too late to cancel the reservation. We filed the insurance and OF COURSE WE WERE DENIED coverage. This was a HORRIBLE experience and will not use Expedia or the hotel again.
- 1/5
bed bugs
- 2/5
there was mold in the windows curtain and block in shower water drain.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing!
- 1/5
This hotel was okay. I definitely think I got bed bug bites though which is why I’m ranking it so well
- 2/5
The location Anytime I asked the staff on duty a question or needed something they responded as if I was inconveniencing them. The beds 1 was incredibly hard the other was lopsided. There was no microwave plate which was weird and the snacks or whatever were incredibly expensive.
- 2/5
Air was blowing hot bathtub water dropped all night WiFi didn’t work mattress was stained brown
- 1/5
No one was at the property at time of check in. No sign for will be back. The lobby smelt stale. Expedia attempted to reach the property for over an hour with no answer. There was a woman walking around with just underwear on in the area as well as others doing donuts in the streets with their motorcycles. Signs posted everywhere for not responsible for theft or damage to cars. We didn’t stay and took ourselves elsewhere without ever speaking to anyone! Stay at your own risk.

Very close to Moody Center, walk is about 15 minutes. Room is comfortoable. Worth the price Breakfast is too basic

Clean room
- 2/5
Location is old and crumbling. Has half painted rooms. Tv wont turn off and controls dont work. The A.C. runs sporadically. Staff overnight is a young kid who is angry at everyone. The parking lot and entire location is filthy. Beds are badly stained. The pool needs desperate upkeep as well.

Staff was very helpful it the rooms were in state of dis repair loose floor boards non working bathroom light and missing soap containers, beds were clean and well covered but floor was very dirty only really seen a broom and not a mop of any kind

- 1/5
The rooms were disgusting and had bed bugs. That’s a HUGE NO for me!
- 5/5
Great trip - mainly only used the hotel for a bed but it was great for what we needed.
- 1/5
Location I requested housekeeping several times starting from the first day because the room was very dirty. Unfortunately, no one came to clean it, so I had to stay in a dirty room for four days. In addition, the toilet was not working throughout my stay.
- 4/5
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water, and the TV worked. It was also surprisingly quiet at night considering it’s right next to I-35. The location is great if you’re planning on doing anything downtown. We didn’t use the pool or try the continental breakfast, so I can’t speak on those. If you’re looking for luxury, keep driving. If all you need is a clean room, a comfortable bed, a hot shower, and a TV that works, this place is a solid value for the price.
- 3/5
This property is very dated and not maintained well. The pool was dirty and closed. The TV didn't work. Multiple items in the room were broken. But the room was clean enough and the location was perfect for a quick overnight stay to attend a show at the Moody Center.
- 5/5
Everything we needed and close to downtown
- 1/5
This place was disgusting, there were shady people and drug addicts in the parking lot. The pool was full of garbage and was not cleaned, the room was dirty and not at all what the pictures online reflect. There was blood stains on the sheets, grease on the towels, mold on the walls and windows. The front door had punch marks on it from someone punching it. It was dimly lit to hide of bad it really was. The ac smelled of mold and had it growing on the fins inside. A place like this should not be visited by anyone who values themselves or their family.
- 5/5
It does the job. It’s a little old but it was conveniently close to the moody center. You get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Great value for the price.
- 1/5
It was such a Horrible experience staying there. There were two domestic violence incidents amongst rooms that were living there. Shots were fired and front desk didn’t care. Twice during the night, my room was assigned to two people checking in and they tried to get into my room with a key. Again front desk didn’t care.
- 5/5
Clean rooms good area
- 5/5
Everything was better than I expected. Had to attend college orientarion with a family member. Place was clean, comfortable.Nice pool and brekfast was delicious 😋. Will stay again in thw future.
- 4/5
Nothing stands out nor terrible. Simple stay with helpful staff.
- 1/5
Staff was awful. We were treated very disrespectfully. Took over 2 hours to get checked in. Arrived just before 1am didn't receive any hospitality until paid $100 to check in at 2am which simply accommodated greyhounds arrival time being after midnight. Charged late checkout following day $50 and mandatory $50 deposit to make reservation for additional day (which we were denied a return on). The hotel manager (the woman) then sent maintenance to kick us off the property while we waited for the uber, threatening to involve law enforcement.....
- 1/5
DONT DO IT!!!!! RECONSIDER!!!!
- 4/5
The staff was helpful with helping us locate what we needed and making sure we knew about the timings for check out and breakfast. The location was good for what we needed. We would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great staff, clean room, Overall great stay
- 5/5
Air conditioning was amazing. Room was clean and staff member was kind and took care of me pretty quickly. Parking was generally good.
- 5/5
Yay
- 4/5
The guy at the front desk was very kind and informative. I had to stay here last minute when my original stay did not work out. I felt very safe here.
- 4/5
clean room, the a/c worked wonderfully during the hot weather, free parking on site, there is always someone in the lobby. would stay again.
- 3/5
Room was adequate otherwise and staff was okay.
- 5/5
From the outside it’s nothing special. But the rooms were very clean and the shower area was nice. I enjoyed my stay once I was in my room. Beds were super comfy also. For the price it’s a true standout.
- 3/5
Ok
- 3/5
The Hotel looks scary old from the outside. But the inside is okay. They have tried to update the decor. The door was the scariest part of the stay. The top bar lock did not work because the door didn't close correctly. However, for the one day less than 10 hour stay it was okay. It was minutes away from UT rec. Center which is where I needed to be the next morning. Would I stay more than one night? Yes, because it was only 82.00 a night and easy to get to with no extra fee for parking and was a quiet area. However, would definitely bring my own towels for sure!! Breakfast was Continental with waffle option. Seating area was small and for me hot due to the front doors being open. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. I would rate it a 5/10 just depends on what you need at the time of your stay.
- 2/5
Fortunately, the receptionist was kind enough to accommodate our request to switch rooms. The second room was in better condition—there was no water on the floor and no mildew smell. The curtains were dusty but did not appear to have mold. One downside was that the microwave available in our room was not working, which made it impossible to heat up leftovers. The pool was decent, however. The water was clean, and my son enjoyed cooling off after spending time in the heat. While the price of our stay was reasonable, the overall experience reflected the lower cost. In the end, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this location again.
- 3/5
Great AC Room was good but in 5 nights no one replaced toilettries. It was quiet and room 126 got pitch black. That was the highlight of it.
- 4/5
You won’t find a better value this close to downtown. Room was very clean and functional. Very conveniently located to many of the popular ATX attractions. Will return.
- 5/5
Much nicer on the inside than you would expect.
- 2/5
To Improve cleanliness
- 4/5
There was no coffee, only decaf and few options for breakfast. The room was clean and confortable
- 4/5
We booked here because it was convenient for a concert at the Moody Center across the highway. Not disappointed! Free parking, easy to walk to venue, did not hear traffic noise inside room, free breakfast was nice. Don’t let the need for some new paint keep you away if you’re looking for a budget friendly option.
- 5/5
This is an inexpensive motel that is in a decent location.
- 3/5
The room was nice, notably clean, and comfortable; however, the pool was out of commission and the gym equipment is outdated.
- 4/5
Very clean room and friendly staff, good location.
- 3/5
Free parking is the highlight. The beds are updated. That's the best plus. They actually meet the Wyndham standard. But everything else is so run down. Not to mention the mold on the shower curtain. I showered standing on a towel. The location is good for the Moody Center and the staff was super friendly!
- 5/5
Very close to the amphitheater, which is where I was headed for a concert. Well, it’s over the highway. It’s not that loud at night and feels relatively safe… Can get lime scooters also right outside the hotel if you’re lucky.
- 5/5
Cleanest pool water for a budget hotel/motel and even possibly cleaner than mid tier hotels...impressed to say the least
- 2/5
Good location, but humidity in rooms exceeds outdoors, as if the AC is pumping moisture into the room. Like sleeping in a swamp.
- 2/5
Not a good spot for Middle America travelers -
- 3/5
They charged me a late fee for being 30 minutes late to check out.
- 3/5
Ac kept cold, toilet ran all night. It was the perfect location though
- 2/5
This is the kind of place you are just sleeping and showering in. You're not going to be staying in the room for long cause there lots to do in Austin, so expect too much. Also don't expect extras like hair dryer, or iron for your cloths.
- 2/5
Dirty took. Outdated. Bed was not comfortable and could feel the springs.
- 2/5
Did not feel safe or clean.
- 1/5
The toilet and TV did not work. When I called the front desk that evening to report the issue, I was told a maintenance person would be there in 15 minutes. He never showed up that night.
- 5/5
Clean room, well lit, comfortable bed & pillows.
- 4/5
Nothing fancy, but has everything you need and the staff was helpful
- 5/5
Wonderful staff & Breakfast with Texas shaped waffles was delicious.
- 3/5
The parking was easy-to-use
- 2/5
Don't be fooled by the Wyndham affiliation. This is a dump that I assume Wyndham is going to tear down soon and build something decent.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 3/5
The next morning I told the same girl it did not work. That evening. No remote replacement. Checked out the next day. Still no replacement remote. I have been staying in this motel for 27 years. There has almost always been a problem of some kind. But it is located near my work. The beds are comfortable.
- 4/5
It was okay! The price sky-rocketed due to the SXSW Film Festival, which was unfortunate... but it is what it is! I didn't try their breakfast, or use the pool, so I can't speak much on that. But the overall stay was fine. I was just there to sleep lol. Overall I enjoyed my stay. The motel has a "Florida Project" charm to it, which was cute.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean and comfortable

Love this hotel

Yes
- 2/5
the room itself had minimal items as well. exactly 3 towel sets. most things look to be on their last leg.
- 1/5
It is an ugly room With scary looks. This place should only be used by the hour!!!
- 2/5
You get what you pay for. Smelled like darts, toilet sounded like a plane taking off when you flushed it. Decent for a night tho
- 5/5
Close by to travel quickly to downtown or moody center.
- 5/5
The ac was super cold that was awesome! It’s close to the moody center and other places restaurants are also at a close proximity
- 5/5
Love that this place is close to moody center, last time the room i got was like umm but this visit was completely different staff is great even last time but this room was good will go again for future concerts
- 3/5
Dirty box spring with no cover. Toilet flusher broke after second flush. Pool was dirty and smelled. Room smelled bad like chlorine.
- 1/5
Parking wasn't secure, first thing you see is a sign that says the hotel isn't liable for damage to your car or theft. The rooms were muggy and humid.
- 2/5
My room had the bare minimum which was okay but the bath tub and a fowl smell in-bedded in it. I turned on the air since it was hot and the same smell came out so just slept in the hot room. I went to the office desk once at night and again in the morning was told that management would talk to me and then sent an email to the gm and have yet to receive a response
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
It was so dirty we didn’t even stay. I have asked for a refund that I haven’t received. I have pictures. Mold around bathroom floor/tub, hair in bed sheets, smoke smell even though it said 100% smoke free rooms. One bed didn’t have bed skirt and the box spring was very stained.
- 1/5
i didn’t go in the room
- 1/5
Horrible night. My AC broke and called and talked to the staff and they said they'll call me back. They didnt and had to sleep in a warm room, then maintenance came by after i told them again in the morning. They had to replace the whole AC unit right before we checked out.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
Close to downtown actually walkable..clean rooms..great food truck park about 5 mins on 12th..check it out also
- 2/5
This hotel isn't anything to get excited about. The beds are fine, shower got hot, and the ac works. Plenty of parking, breakfast offered, and some snacks you can purchase. Now if you're looking to take a bath then tub doesn't have a stopper. If you're looking for a location with good stores around, you're looking at a 15 minute walk. If you're looking for a room with a closet or blinds, these aren't the ones for you.
- 3/5
Staff was super helpful and friendly. The hotel is older and the outside is rough. The hotel is next to a noisy road. I think staying here is ok if you have low expectations and want to save $. The bed was fine. It was close to lots of local Austin places. It was easy to uber around if you don’t want to drive in traffic.
- 5/5
Great
- 4/5
The motel is located in such a convenient location. It is easy to move throughout the city or to travel on foot into downtown Austin. The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. The room could use a facelift, but it was great for the price and location in Austin.
- 5/5
Yes
- 3/5
The parking lot was a little sub par but rooms were OK. Clean and fridge, iron etc worked. Air conditioner was a little flakey by for the room and rate it was adequate.
