Reviews
Guests generally enjoy the pool and staff at the hotel, but have issues with the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. The resort fee and prices for food and drinks are also a common complaint.
- Pool is nice

The property is older but not well kept. The pool loungers were ripped and falling apart. Cobwebs behind bathroom door and over the bed and hanging from the ceiling. Staff is awesome! Food is outstanding. Spa is great. Needs a facelift, a good scrubbing and some updates to the pool area.

This is my second stay at this property and the first time I gave it five stars across the board, that was a year ago. I was told this time that the property was sold a couple of months ago so my hopes are that the new owners are planning to do something about the deterioration. The first night we were there we had to abruptly leave our room because the air conditioning started to rain in our room. I'm not talking a little drip, it was full out gushing from the ceiling. We called down and they told us to immediately leave the room and they gave us another room. I'm hoping for some sort of compensation for the inconvenience as we were already in bed and obviously unpacked. In both rooms the televisions were not smart TVs so there was no streaming nor any Prime channels. The guide did not work on the TV either so at any given time you had no idea what you were watching. I recognize we weren't there for TV but in the evenings it's nice. In the second room our coffee maker did not work. Most disappointing was the lounge chairs at the pool. More than half of them had such severe rips and tears they were completely unusable. Our floor and the floor above us which is the one that leads to the pool and the spa wreaked of marijuana for part of our stay. The best thing about this property both times has been the staff, they are exceptional! As I did last time we had dinner at the 63 restaurant and again the staff was great but this time the food was unseasoned and bland.

Clean rooms, great friendly service, great views around the property
- 3/5
The property all in all could be cleaner. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast outside and the patio was disgusting. Looks like it hasn't been swept or mopped in months. I brought a dirty table to their attention when we were eating and they never did anything about it. We probably will not be back due to how expensive it was and the lack of cleanliness. Have more pride.

Although we only stayed one night, it was a wonderful experience. However, the only thing I didn’t like is at the swim up bar they include their own gratuity which I didn’t care for, especially since they got my bill wrong. Also, I wished the beds were more comfortable. They were very firm. Other than that, the views and experience was still a good one.
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay at Lakeway Resort. The kids LOVED the pool area, as did my wife and I. Our room was spacious with high ceilings and a terrific view of Lake Travis. The staff was super friendly. The pool chairs are certainly showing their age with many of them having large tears; that's the only critique I have.

Of check in Plus breakfast reimburse only $25 .

It is a great place to get away and it’s affordable. We love the view of the lake. The swim up bar is very nice, and the hotel is very clean. The food and drinks are also very good Everything in the room was great but I wish they had robes
- 3/5
Room definitely could be cleaned better it had a musky smell, carpet tore and stained. Ceiling stained and spider webs. Pool towels stained. Kids fun zone ac did not work well. And needs to be cleaned was not cleaned daily as we used it daily and could tell.
- 3/5
No baggage help when arrived lol Tried several times to reach front desk and guest services, they never answer their phone! The menu online is out dated And items I tried to order are no longer available. No kids menu online either. There was no room service during our stay to clean room, make beds or deliver fresh towels. No one answers the phone! I had ants in my room, floor and bedding Service in 63, poor outside, for Breakfast, only fair inside for breakfast. Auto charge for service fees no matter how poor the service or not bringing out what we ordered. Pool service closes way too early (6:00pm) so no drinks or Food served at 6:00pm and water slide closed for kids at same time. No lifeguards present in the early evenings. Pool area in great need of maintenance. Most chairs have ripped material and had coverings out over some of the rips and large number of pool tiles were missing. Limited TV channels and no kid movies to order. It has been many years since I visited the Lakeway Resort and now I will not be returning. All these comments are true and not exaggerated…. Very disappointing, especially for the price! The view was nice though!
- 4/5
We loved the kiddie pool and slide. The slide wasn't open consistently, but there were lifeguards who would try to keep it open when needed. The gym was small but really nice. It had water and towels for guest use. The pool restroom wasn’t clean and didn’t have hand soap. The front desk was friendly. They had fresh baked cookies every evening. The adult pool looked really nice, overlooked the lake.
- 4/5
Only issues we had were at the restaurant patio and pool areas. Both desperately needed to be power washed to get rid of leftover drinks and food. That part was quite gross.
- 5/5
The hotel facilities were clean, modern, and well-maintained. Everything I needed was available, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you to the entire team for providing such a great experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay. I will definitely come back if I have the opportunity in the future.

We booked this place solely based off the pools. We were let down on just how small the place really was. Probably wouldn’t go back due to price for what was actually offered. Customer service was fantastic though!

- 4/5
The staff at the hotel were amazing from helping with luggage, getting checked in and helping find your way around the place. The view from the room balcony is stunning and the third floor bar had a large balcony to enjoy the beauty with a nice glass of wine or drink of your choice
- 2/5
Despite that, the staff were understanding and looked for a way to help us—especially the manager.
- 5/5
Wow what an exceptional stay. George up front had the best customer service. Our first room they put us in didn't fit the bill and without hesitation he immediately moved us to a different room. I love that they have a late night pantry where you can gran snacks after everything us closed. The adult only pools were a nice change and the views of lake Travis were incredible. We will absolutely be coming back here and bringing out kiddos next time! 10/10

Pool service was great! The restaurant service was a little slow, and it was not busy. George at the front was super helpful and was a great welcome. The views are amazing and overall had a great time.

Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view from our balcony. Rooms were clean and property is nice and maintained. Will definitely be returning
- 5/5
I absolutely loved the location, and the amenities were amazing and so was the staff . The room needed to be deep cleaned a little bit a.k.a. the curtains. They had a lot of dark stains and could’ve been probably easily cleaned.
- 2/5
The property itself was nice with a spectacular view. The hotel room is in need of updating and the carpet in room needs professional steam-cleaning or to be replaced as there were stains throughout the entire room.
- 2/5
Unfortunately from the moment we checked in was a disappointment. First, we booked through Expedia and upon arrival we were told by the resort that they gave our room away. Totally unacceptable! They said they were fully booked and released our room which was already paid for. We were put into a different room which didn’t include the same accommodations and the odor in the room was horrible so we were moved once again. The disappointment continued!!! The only positive experience was the restaurant on site. The staff were extremely friendly and service and food was good. The final disappointment was the information regarding a free shuttle to the airport from the resort ( a “rare find”) that was advertised on Expedia. When we inquired about this perk, we were told the resort has never provided this service and of course didn’t honor the advertisement. I’m not sure where the miscommunication is between Expedia and the Resort but clearly they are not on the same page. Very disappointing and I will not use Expedia again either.
- 2/5
I already paid $600 for 2 nights so we showed up now I have to put my card on file with $200 $50 bucks per day and $10 parking fees plus on the pool 20% fee on drinks or food plus tip. On check out still got charge $187. Nop not going back oh well that my opinion.
- 3/5
It's a real shame because I've been coming to the resort almost every year for more than 20 years. But this time in particular, the age and state of disrepair was patently apparent. As I see it, it's a failure of management. And the price of the room just makes the state of what you're getting for the money all the more absurd.

It’s spectacular—an incredible view and wonderful people.

Room: The room was nowhere close to what was advertised. It also had a drain problem that should have been addressed before guests were checked in. Restaurant: The on-site restaurant was a major letdown. The food quality was poor, and several items listed on the menu weren't even available. We ended up having to leave the property entirely and buy food elsewhere because what was served was not good. Overall: This resort is significantly overpriced for the quality and experience you actually receive. Between the room issues, the restaurant problems, and the gap between advertising and reality, we can't recommend staying here. Do your research and manage your expectations before booking.
- 4/5
The only minor downside was the $25 resort credit. We weren’t informed that bar purchases would automatically be charged to our room, so a little more communication about how the credit worked would have been helpful. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!

Views were nice. Pool was clean. Only bad thing , which I know is expected , but as soon as we got into room , we had fleas on us. It was a pet friendly room but was not expected. I had one on my shoulder and my partner got a few on legs. My dog came home with fleas when she didn’t have before :( but the bed was comfy , water was nice and hot. DJ at pool on Saturday was nice. It was a great experience to try out once.

We stayed for my husband's birthday, it was a short road trip to wind down and reconnect. We loved the affordability, attention to details, and customer service. The food as t the restaurant was also great. We met fun folks at the pool. Our only issue was the adult pool bar closed at 6 while the pool stayed open till 10. The staff at the pool bar actually shut down earlier than that so we were a little disappointed. We might have stayed out with a DJ or some other adult entertainment. Otherwise it was superb!

I had really high expectations for this get away being Austin one of my favorite places to visit when I feel like winding down and all the excellent reviews but my room was dirty carpet stained hair bids on the floor and beer cans on the porch. I don’t think I will be coming back here ever again.

We decided to do a quick family vacation trip and Lakeway Spa and Resort was the best decision we could've made! This place is a small piece of paradise for Couple's Getaways or Family Vacations! We have found our much needed reset for any future weekend getaways! The Rooms with the Lake views, the Balcony access, the 2 Sided Waterpark for Adults or Children, the Back Porch Bar for Date Night, this place has it all! Highly Recommended!

Did not eat the breakfast The sheet on the bed appears to have some type of dry liquid that stain. Which was not something we would expect. It was disappointing when we notice the stains. We took photos of the stain and brought it to the front desk attention. The front desk person was very sympathetic, but the team that came in to change the sheets was very friendly. Put a damper on our stay.

Property was clean and staff were friendly. Ninn greeted us, Ryan was great checking us in and Joy was a pleasure to speak with and helped solve a minor issue quickly. The pools were beautiful and well maintained. The pool bar staff were both attentive and friendly. Tierney and Ethan are energetic and made our time at the pool very enjoyable. Food and drink options on property were good. The music at the restaurant is terrible and does not fit the environment. Please change it to something contemporary that people enjoy. Perhaps diners will frequent the restaurant more often and stay longer if the electric guitar sad and wailing blues music was not blaring all the time. We ate breakfast and dinner there and the music was the same unpleasant style. Please improve!

It has been years since I have been here and I believe it has been years it has been touched. The pools didn't feel very clean or kept up.... tiles missing everywhere. The lounge chairs need to be replaced.... holes in almost all of them. The pool towels also had stains on all three we were given. The family fun zone just needs to be completely overhauled or closed, in my opinion. I am not sure what the $50 resort fee each guest is charged per night goes towards because they are definitely not using for the resort amenities. The Pantry for quick grab and go items is set up for self-check-out but the scanner did not recognize any barcode for myself or the guest in front of me. We had no hot water for showers. And upon booking I received notification I would have $25 resort credit per day. Upon checking out, I wanted to utilize $25 for my check in day purchases being that it was the only day any amenity was used because we checked out the following morning at 9am, and they stated that "it does not apply to check in day". Makes no sense being that you can arrive before your check in time to utilize amenities. I was told they do that because many people don't arrive in time to utilize those credits on check in day. However, the opposite is true for those that have to check out early on check out day. You should be able to use it whichever day you choose if only there for one night. And the wording shouldn't mislead you to think you get it per day, per stay.

The pictures are deceiving. The rooms have popcorn ceiling. The carpet was stained along with the curtains. The bed was comfortable. Also the pool was also dirty in the adult pool. The hot tub had missing tiles. Just kept up with. The entire hotel has carpet and dirty. I will not return,

This is a great location for a resort right on the river with great outdoor pools and views and restaurants and bar. There is a children’s pool with a large slide and 3 levels of adult pools with a swim up bar. The hotel could use a little updating and paint. Housekeeping was a little absent.

The property was clean and well taken care of. Anytime we needed anything. There were no problems with getting those things to us. The food was delicious. The staff was kind.
- 5/5
The only downside was the pool area. Guests would leave behind food, drinks, and cups, and they would sit there for a long time without being cleaned up. This made the pool area look dirty and uninviting, and the pool itself could have been kept cleaner as well. With better upkeep of the pool area, this hotel would be even better.

We had a great time! We will be back.

The location is great, the pools and view are amazing. The service was absolutely impeccable! I have never been treated in such a caring manner from all of the front desk staff! The bellman, T was so helpful, too. We only visited the restaurant once, and that was for breakfast. The food was excellent, and the coffee was great. I can’t think of one complaint. I was there forty years ago, and it is still such a nice hotel with a great view!

The view here is impeccable and the pool is beautiful. There’s a lot of pockets throughout the resort that are very pretty. The kids pool is really nice as well. The restrooms were dated. And the food at the restaurants wasn’t great. A place like this should have really good food and restaurants and room service but I guess that kind of missed the mark for most of our group so we went off property for dinners

Pools were fun
- 4/5
However, for a resort the rooms could use a bit of an upgrade and patios some cleaning. Found stains on the sheets and bugs in the room. Pool area was excellent!
- 3/5
However, the service (restaurant, bar, front desk - except for the nicest lady, phone help - which is a general number and won’t get you to the hotel itself) was poor, the mattresses haven’t been replaced in 5 years and are down to the springs, the mini fridge in our room specifically had black mold in it (and yes - we reported it and were told we could move rooms, but we had already unpacked. So we just didn’t use the fridge), the water in the room is either scalding or ice, the walls were lined in a mold-like substance in the crevices… It was just not living up to the expectations for the price. Also beware of the bottom of the pool - it will fully scrape up your feet and leave you torn and tattered. Regarding the food and drinks - the drinks are STRONG! Which at $16 a pop, I appreciated. Even when the flavor was subpar. The food - however - was a miss every single time. We waited nearly 2 hours for slider burgers and fries, were given the wrong sliders, but the parm truffle fries were the star of the show. At the sixty three restaurant, we tried to revive our appetite but were once again met with poor service, poorly made food that was warm at best. and that night the drinks were too strong to even attempt to drink. We spent around 200 on food and drinks for 3 days - not worth it.

Had a great time! Hotel smells really nice. Staff was excellent.
- 2/5
House keeping wasn’t great either — our call for extra towels was received, but forgotten. Had to search out the front desk to get some. And on the morning of checkout, they entered our room early, trashed our our food and other items and stripped the bed before we completed packing. It was weird, like “hurry up and leave” weird. We can’t comment on the restaurant since we skipped it, worrying the cost there would also far exceed the quality. But it always looked empty. I would return, for half the price, maybe. The Resort has its merits but charges a premium for mediocre.
- 5/5
Location was awesome for quiet and peaceful surroundings. Staff was extremely nice. Rooms and AC could be updated but overall very comfortable and clean room
- 4/5
There were a couple of minor areas for improvement. The hot water was inconsistent while showering, and some of the patio furniture—particularly around the original pool—was torn and could use replacement. Overall, these were small issues, and we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent stay at Lakeway Resort. Our group consisted of 10 couples, and unfortunately, the overall experience fell well below expectations. First, we were told it was a $50 fee for an early check-in at 12:50 PM despite having a large group reservation. Given the size of our party and the business we brought to the resort, this felt unnecessary and disappointing. Additionally, by 3:42 PM on the first day, several popular beverages were already unavailable, including Michelob Ultra, High Noon, and Sun Cruiser. Throughout the weekend, we repeatedly encountered inventory shortages, which significantly impacted our experience. Our group dinner was particularly frustrating. Despite having a pre-selected menu, the meal lasted approximately four hours, and multiple menu items were unavailable. For a planned group event, we expected a much smoother and better-coordinated dining experience. We were also disappointed by the condition of the pool, which had visible algae throughout it. This raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Finally, many staff members we interacted with were neither helpful nor friendly. Hospitality and customer service are critical components of the guest experience, and unfortunately, those expectations were not met during our stay. Given these issues, we feel our experience did not reflect the standards we expected from Lakeway Resort.

The rooms need some updating, the family fun zone ceiling doesn’t exist. The children’s pool needed to be cleaned. Overall it was okay but not okay for resort prices. This is the second time we’ve been here, the first time was 10 years ago and looks exactly the same.

Bed was not great. Kids pool need some repairs. For my opinion they can do better.
- 4/5
The room that was reserved for me was on the first floor and probably the worst room they have. I asked if they can change the room for me but they said that I have to upgrade to get another room. I ended spending an extra $100 for the 2 nights to change the room
- 3/5
Staying here is about the location. For a family of 4 seeking a staycation, the amenities beyond the pool were quite limited. The family zone was run-down with no structured activities. The view from the balcony was lovely but it felt more like a Hampton Inn than a posh resort. Finally you get hit with multiple little hidden fees that end up costing as much as the stay, including a 2% credit card fee - would be better if they just baked this into the price rather than dinging you at check-out with a negative surprise. I think it’s better for adults than kids.

Check in was fine. Even after I called for early check in if you arrive before 2PM they charge you an extra $50 to use the facility. I see no reason for this. This was a Friday and the parking lot was 1/2 full. The bell man Elvis was very polite. The 1963 main restaurant on site was pretty bad. The patio is old, the canvas tarp leaked really bad, so we had to move inside. The 1st night the service was ok but the kitchen was very slow. The food ok, but nothing to brag about. The next day breakfast buffet was ok but service was bad. We kept having to track down someone for fresh coffee. The pool adult only area was nice. Some old staining on the bottom and the pool bar that was to open at 11, really didn't until 11: 25. At the end of the day, just ok. Not sure i will go back.

Pool, beds, grounds very nice. Rooms very dated, toilet made a shot gun noise, tv old, no access to app sign in or movie rentals. Tv small. Carpet stained, room very musty, ceiling molding damaged old. Coffee awful, no in room microwave. Drinks at pool very expensive mandatory 20% gratuity. Only 1 restaurant nice. Balcony and Lakeview very nice!
