property under renovation, not shown that on expedia (booked only couple of days before stay). very little light in hallway, we endup sleeping as were completely tired because of one collage moves that day and one more next day and were not in mood to find another place and stay up for another hours. room was OK. flooring had paint drops here and there. water in shower was HOT, HOTTER and you are on SUN HOT.
- 2/5
It is close by to many things I require. But the amenities are bad. The bathroom door was very bad. The property was not maintained properly. The phone in the room was not working.
- 1/5
The bed was very comfortable and the air-conditioning was nice and cold The building was very rundown, furniture was broken in the room, and there was only one working elevator. All of the soda machines were out of soda and water.

The property is subpar, yet they nickel-and-dime you for everything. There's a $75 insurance fee that isn't disclosed on Expedia’s website, and valet parking, where you park your own vehicle. The structure needs some TLC, and although you pay handsomely, you don't even have the basic amenities in your room, such as a fridge and microwave. This is my first and last time at this location. You can get more for less at a different location.
- 1.5/5
That’s it wasn’t too far from Moody Center It smelled funny, there was roaches, the TV didn’t work and that I had to pay for paying. I didn’t even stay too long I around 2

Not very clean. The pool water appeared very dirty. One working elevator. The halls smell bad. The phone in the room did not work. The TV doesn’t work unless you have Netflix and can stream to the TV. And you have to pay $45 for parking.
- 1/5
First of all, the original room we were assigned to was found with someone already in it. When we were reassigned, the new room smelled, toilet lid was broken, the TV didn’t work, there was no trash can in the room, the wall base board was coming off the wall, the fridge didn’t cool AND WE FOUND A ROACH!!! Do NOT stay here! WORST PLACE EVER!
- 3/5
The place was under renovation but overall was a good stay. What I didn’t like was that the property tried to charge a smoke fee when we aren’t smokers and apparently the “sensor” went off in the room from using their hair dryer. So ladies, take your own hair dryer! Other than that, it was an overall nice stay!
- 1/5
Restroom toilet worked poorly. Blow dryer was not even hanging on the wall. It was fallen off. Pool was green and dirty. Parking garage was filthy and smelled.

Nice stay, clean room. Had trouble with the key card and kept having to get a new one. Other than that, the stay was good.
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The property is located in a great area walking distance to restaurants and fun places. Great value for your money.
- 2/5
We were given a "newly renovated" room which obviously didn't have a final inspection. The faucet in the bathroom was extremely loose and when the handle was lifted it came completely off. The hot water in the nook with the coffee maker, etc wasn't connected so no hot water here. And no hot water in bathroom sink. There were no bath towels, tv by the bed was not working, exposed electrical outlet by tv, commode seat was loose and wouldn't tighten up, and the floor needed sweeping. On the plus side the mattress was a really good one! Staff was friendly & tried their best. It is is a good location and within walking distance to downtown & 6th Street where all the action is :)

one of the most horrible experiences i have ever had and i have spent 1000 of nights travelling, rooms was clean but most of the lights and plug in didn't work. the tv didn't work. the light in the bathroom was on the floor. someone busted the bathroom door and they did a bad job of fixing it . but seriously sad place to stay i was planning on two night in austin i cancelled my second night and went to a much nice place. .

The hotel needs some upgrades. Our toilet was no flushable. I had to reach in the bowl to make it flush. The AC unit has mold buildup around the framework. We can smell the moldy smell in the air. The carpet is really outdated.

Pictures are deceiving. In maintenance too but you have to pay for parking, they charged me 75 more for jus5 in case we smoke in room. We didn't even stay. Mold, dirty, just nasty in there
- 0.5/5
We unfortunately did not stay due to no hot water. We were told we would receive a refund upon canceling with receptionist and have reached out multiple times with no refund. While trying to resolve the issue regarding the refund the hotel went under a management change. The manager I spoke to a few times had a certain tone and was unwilling to help fix nor respond to any emails regarding the issue and proof of the agreement of the refund.

The room itself was just fine. Although I have no idea were these motels find there maintenance people but wow and I don't just meen this place. The building was being painted during our stay which was not a problem other the the backup alarm on the boom. The only thing I will say is that parking is not included with your stay. So there was a little sticker shock for the parking 35 a day. Other than that the place we surprisingly quiet for being down town.

We walked right back out and told them we weren’t staying. They made no effort to ask what was wrong or try to help in anyway. They said they would cancel me transaction and give me a refund and turns out they didn’t and am going through a dispute with Expedia to remove the charges. Horrible experience. The pictures DO NOT represent or capture the true appearance of the hotel. Will NOT stay again.

Peeled hard boiled eggs and a wonderful breakfast.

There is no way I would stay here ever again, my friend and I even checked out early because we could not make it past one night there. The cleanliness was nonexistent. The maintenance is concerning with exposed wires everywhere, horrendous odors, and problematic plumbing. The floors were disgusting too. There was no want for using the pool as it was also not maintained. While the hotel is under construction, and hopefully addressing these issues, there is no way it should be functioning under its current conditions. I've stayed in La Quinta hotels before, and I don't know how each one is managed, but this one in particular definitely did not meet my expectations of past experiences. One figures that because it is a hotel under a chain, that there would be some type of standard, but that was nowhere near met. My only compliment was the gentleman who checked us out, and I wish I had gotten his name to give him kudos. He was so easy to talk to, and when we explained we were checking out early, he was so helpful, as I can imagine this is a regular occurrence here. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel as it will change the tone of your trip, this is not a place not worth cutting corners for.
- 1/5
We arrived and it was under construction and hotel looked horrible we didn’t even stay we cancelled our reservation.
- 2/5
The hotel is being repaired but there is a smell, roaches and is overall unclean.
- 3/5
The hotel has potential, but it has been allowed to deteriorate that it is a shame. There is remodeling, but there has to be supervision on the quality of the repair. The Capitol is across the street but many will chose other places to stay. The staff was very friendly, feel bad for their place of employment.
- 1/5
The overall building was so gross, my expectations were low but i didnt think it would it this ridiculous. there was trash everywhere. the carpets are so disgusting. some of the bed sheets had little black spots and you could just smell to mold
- 2/5
no fridge, microwave or even a hairdryer in my room and i struggled closing and opening the door and had to force it which is scary for a solo woman traveler as well as the parking situation which was also a robbery to have to pay $45 a day for parking it in somewhere so scary and with trash and mattresses all around it
- 2/5
Lights didn’t work, the door didn’t have a locking system on it, the French doors to the bathroom were rusty, and coming apart, the curtains have holes in them, and the floor was dirty!
- 1/5
Our stay was extremely disappointing. When we first checked in, the key to our assigned room didn't work. We were then moved to a second room, where the air conditioning didn't work, and to make matters worse, there was what appeared to be human or animal feces in the closet. The smell was overwhelming and made the room unusable. After reporting those issues, we were moved to a third room. Unfortunately, it wasn't much better. There was visible mold throughout the bathroom, around the air conditioner, and near the window. We also found a random pair of shoes left behind in the room, which made it seem like it hadn't been properly cleaned. The air conditioning unit wasn't securely installed, with exposed wires visible, creating both a safety concern and an overall poor impression of the room's condition. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. Multiple rooms had serious cleanliness, maintenance, and safety issues. We expected a clean and functional room, but instead spent our time being moved from room to room. I would not recommend.
- 3/5
It's nice it's next to the Capital. We were on the top floor and the elevator was broken the first two days and was scary getting on so didn't use. It was a place to sleep clean and sightsee.
- 1/5
I won’t stop here again , no microwave, no refrigerator, hall way dirty and smells bad , elevator too old not working while I stay at 3rd floor.
- 2/5
Room had visible mold everywhere. Staff did not properly check us in (though they originally said they did) which led to a random man trying to get into our room around midnight. Was moved to a new room mid stay, but did not take away the original disgust from the room and staff.
- 1/5
My daughter felt unsafe.
- 1/5
After checking in, we tried to use the elevator and almost got stuck in it. Luckily, the doors opened back up, and we got out immediately. We then had to carry our luggage up four flights of stairs. As we walked through the hallways, there was construction everywhere. The ceilings were falling apart, with pieces of wood and paint scattered throughout the hall. On the way to our room, we also noticed the pool was disgustingly murky, with dirt and debris covering the bottom. Once we got to our room, the air conditioning wasn’t working, and the thermostat read 80°F. We went back to the front desk, and their explanation was that it needed to be reset because the cleaning crew had turned it off. At that point, we immediately requested a refund and left. This is actually my first time ever leaving a negative hotel review. I’ve never had an experience this bad, and I hope no one else has to deal with it.
- 1/5
Walked back to the front desk and said the room was unacceptable. Instead of offering a different room, the desk clerk offered us a refund immediately, but said that because it was booked through a 3rd party (Expedia), there would be an extra step in the refund process. After a few seconds, she told me that the money was sent back to Expedia and that I would have to handle things through Expedia at that point. We left the hotel, went to our event, and decided to go ahead and drive the 4 hours back home. We arrived back home just before 4AM, and when I woke up this morning, I discovered that Expedia had no idea that our booking was terminated. I tried calling the front desk of the hotel (no answer), I messaged the hotel through Expedia in the same way they messaged me on the day of arrival (no reply). Expedia tried reaching out to the hotel on my behalf, with no luck as of yet. This is a completely terrible experience with this hotel; not only did they keep the money from our canceled booking, but we also had to pay an extra $40 for parking which has not been refunded yet (a separate ongoing claim). If there is any happy resolution to this, I will gladly update my review, but the hotel itself was a complete mess, and we would never ever consider staying there again.
- 5/5
This hotel was a very nice experience. The room was very nice, comfy bed, meaning not hard or firm....it was comfy. I got the executive room and it was spacious. the staff is very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
- 1/5
This property was under construction and very loud! I couldn't sleep, & the hot water wasn't working! Front desk was no assistance!
- 5/5
The building is outdated and it feels and looks rundown in need of an update.
- 3/5
Old hotel that needs much updating and work. They were maintenance personnel sanding, the surfaces of the concrete walkways, which was very loud and it seemed to be right under my room.
- 1/5
This hotel needs someone who cares about presentation. The people that work there are great; friendly, willing to help and are professional. The hotel itself, while under construction is a hot mess. If it wasn't for the friendly staff, I would have eaten the cost of staying and left. Even then, it turns out that the lights in the unit didn't work except for the bathoom sink light. The water ran, was hot, but had nails and screws on the floor, a desk chair that looked like it was a cat's scratching post at one time, The TV wouldn't turn on and none of the outlets worked except for the one in the vanity. The closet had a hole punched in it, and the light from the front door told us there was as gap underneath the door too. There was a huge cricket or roach crawling on the floor, couldn't quite tell, it was so dark in there. The A/C worked extremely well, but c,mon...it felt like I was in a section 8 complex. Whoever is managing that place needs to step up their game because your staff is working hard to provide a service that is seemingly welcoming, but offers little back except over-priced booking and $45 for valet parking. Better to do the garage 2 blocks down, $30 for 24 hours. Way better. That upgrade better be next level because the investment cost to accomplish it won't be cheap.

staff was very helpful. air was stuffy in the rooms. room was old and almost falling apart. construction and renovations are being done. breakfast was mediocre.
- 1/5
This place is just gross! I got like a dozen emails reminding me that they’re smoke free and tampering was a no - no and all that only for the smoke detector in our room to be ripped out of the wall. The sockets were all loose, hair on the shower wall that was definitely not ours. We couldn’t wait to check out!
- 1/5
My window didn't lock. There was blood on the ceiling of my bathroom. There were no sheets on one of the beds. Felt like a bush tucker trial.
- 2/5
Nothing special, decent location, only food trucks in the area no restaurants so prepare to order delivery.
- 3/5
Property was under renovation and noise was loud starting at 8:30, so we couldn’t sleep in.
- 2/5
Room was alright, pool was dirty, the building as a whole is in neglect.
- 1/5
Everything else, pretty bad experience
- 1/5
There is no free parking at this location. You will be charged nearly 50 a day for each night you stay overnight. They say it's valet but I parked my own car each time. The room smelled weird, door barely worked.
- 3/5
1 night travel stay. Only paid parking or hard to find street parking. Pretty run down complex. Probably would not stay again.
- 5/5
Best place to stay if you want to Be close to 6th Street
- 2/5
Room was not so clean. Beds and blankets were over used. The smell in the rooms was not pleasant. There were no wash cloths.

Cobran el estacionamiento muy caro y no lo especifican.
- 5/5
All good!
- 1/5
So many unexpected fees. There is a $75 deposit required additional to your room to make sure you aren't smoking in your room. I chose a non smoking room. Valet parking is mandatory! You are not allowed to park your own car and it costs 20 to 45 dollars for it that's not included. You dont have access to your car at night because they lock the keys in the lobby. Not very securely either. Anyone has access to that cabinet. Didn't even go in the room. While we were leaving several people were trying to get a different room because there was blood on the sheets and it was dirty. Never staying here again.
- 1/5
Cracked ceiling with water dripping out . And smelled like mold
- 5/5
Clean Nice
- 4/5
Our room had a musky smell, when we first entered it. There were dirty clothes in the corner, which indicates the housekeeper didn't vacuum the carpet. We had coffee packs, but no sugar condiments or cups to make coffee in our room. La Quinta can do better.
- 1/5
They never mentioned on the website that parking cost $45 per day—almost more expensive than the rental itself.
- 2/5
No self parking, which is ridiculous since this is a 2 star hotel. Toilet broke, no blow dryer in the room. Hallway smelled like urine. On the fip side, very comfortable bed, room was clean and great shower.
- 1/5
First I want to say, staff was good and friendly. However, the property itself in poor condition, the rooms not very clean, strong smelled of mold, hair dryer and room did not work, the three days we were there there was no maid service, we were told that housekeeping only comes after three days. Parking was a fiasco, they charge 40+ dollars per day for parking and we had no choice but to park on a parking lot 2 to 3 blocks away which came out a lot cheaper for us. The elevators were very slow and all in all the property needs much attention. I would not stay here again or recommend
- 1/5
No water in the toilet, tub water faucet was broken, bedsheets smelled, some lights werent working.. had to pay 35 dollars to park, too expensive for the quality honestly. Never again.
- 2/5
Upon driving up to the property, our thoughts were, “what have we booked?Laquinta’s are usually nicer than this.” It was an open air property, meaning the hallways and doors were exposed to the outside. Not the safest option. Valet was $45/night with no self park option. That in and of it’s self was a joke, because having valet infers that your property is nice and this place was not. There were elevators, but after using it once we took the stairs, because it was small and dirty and honestly we weren’t exactly sure it could even make it up one floor safely. Upon entering our room, the popcorn ceiling was hanging down in a couple of different spots. Clearly no upkeep is happening at this property. There’s no way they should be charging $135/night for that. They should have paid us the $180 we spent to stay there.
- 1/5
The place is completely run down. Smelled horrible. Staff is really nice and friendly.
- 2/5
Handicapped was used for valet parking. Was not able to utilize my handicap.
- 1/5
We chose this hotel based on its advertised quality and location; however, the room and facilities have not met reasonable expectations. We found cleanliness issues, including an unclean toilet, strong odors, visible moisture damage, and a bathtub in poor condition. Additionally, the valet parking service does not appear to provide the level of service described, despite the significant nightly fee. Given these issues, I do not believe we received the quality of accommodation we paid for.
- 3/5
Powerwashing the entire place during my stay. Understandable this needs to be done, but while accepting reservations? No warning? Could barely walk on sidewalks, stairways, or hallways due to pooling water.
- 1/5
We chose the hotel for location, which it was close to the Moody Center and the main downtown area. Location is all this hotel has going for it. As we pulled up it looked run down and we decided to utilize the vallet parking (regrets, explain later) The gentleman we checked in with was the only kind/helpful employee we interacted with. So shout out to him. The elevators were gross and floor of them was all beat up and stinky. We finally made it to our room and immediately there were issues. The safety lock on door was broke, there was residue on walls, curtains broken, etc. we asked for a room in better condition and the gentleman at the desk said that our room was considered one of their best kept rooms. The following morning we packed up to leave, went to lobby and weighted for vehicle after doing the digital request. After awhile we asked the front desk about our vehicle status. We were told by the younger lady, who smelled like booze, that the valet was late to work and didn’t know when he was arriving. She then told us we could go through the keys in the desk, find out and then go find our vehicle. Wild. Needless to say, we will not be staying here again. Not even for another overnight.
- 2/5
Bathroom light and most of the bedroom lights didn’t work. The room was not cleaned very well. We were moved to another room all the lights worked but was still not a very clean place.
- 1/5
The room
- 1/5
Unsafe feeling with full time renters and homeless people around. Valet person was useless for help and front desk never answered the phone nor was their anyone present when I waited 20 mins.
- 3/5
The pictures do not match the ones online so it was a bit of a surprise when we checked in. We did find some cockroaches in our room and had trouble opening the door. The staff were helpful but I wouldn't recommend staying here longer than 3 nights.
- 3/5
For a last-minute trip the location and price was very convenient. You’re basically paying for location more than anything. A couple issues. It could definitely be upgraded. A few bulbs were out so lighting was poor, the bathtub scared me so we didn’t use it. The amenities were OK, served their purpose, there was a pool and complimentary breakfast. Staff was helpful and accommodating. I called to check in. They said my room is ready and so I tried to go ahead and drop off bags, but they still wanted to charge an early bird fee.
- 2/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful! However, the pool area was very dirty and had dead plants all around it, and the keypad to the pool was broken which made it difficult to use. The room was cozy, but the floors were not clean and the bathroom doors wouldn’t shut. The headboard on one of the beds was broken, and only one bed had a duvet. The hallway to our room smelled horribly and needs a good clean. Breakfast was delicious though, and it was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go.
- 1/5
everything was bad. no parking available had to pay parking 3 streets away, staff was rude and unhelpful. they overcharged my card by 300$. room smell bad, everything was dirty.
- 3/5
Room looked a bit worn but was clean. AC worked great. Bathtub looked moldy and grimy.
- 3/5
Wasn’t able to get a signal on the television. A/C worked the first night, but not after that.
- 2/5
Elevators were small and dirty. Rooms were dirty and bedding looked like it had stains. The staff was amazing. The best customer service I’ve had at any hotel for awhile. I was also charged twice for the room and it’s still not been refunded.
- 2/5
Air conditioning thermostat was felt apart. Horrible. Ac was with blue blinking light in was worried if it will turn on fire. The bathroom and floor was dirty. Never will stay there in my future travel.
- 1/5
This location is not well cared for. The comforter on the bed had a wet stain on it. At a closer look, there were blood stains on the comforter. Seems like housekeeping tried to clean it. I called housekeeping. They came and changed the linen and comforter on the bed. There was no light in the bathroom. There was no door to the bathroom. The carpet was sticky. The TV came on, but took about 10 minutes for the screen to come on. The breakfast buffet considered of frozen sausage biscuits and two kinds of cereal. No spoons. Only forks. Self-parking, because Valet was not available due to short-staffed. Parked two levels down. No elevator to come back up. This was definitely not a good experience.

Con - floors not very clean. There was a coffee pot, but no cups. No cups in bathroom. Hand towel and bath towels, but no wash cloths. Couldn’t use pool as no keys worked on gate. One of the two elevators bounced quite a bit and felt like it was going to fail when it reached the floor and its door would stick half way closed when it stopped. Breakfast was not as described. With updating and better maintenance this place could be a gem. The staff was well trained and provided excellent service.
- 3/5
Staff is super helpful and friendly, property needs restoration and cleaning, but overall my experience was great and also amazing location.
- 1/5
We had to change rooms 2 times. The first time was due to the A/C not working. The second was due to the toilet leaking and not flushing. We had a double and had to accept a king for 3 adults good thing is we are family but still was a tight fit.
- 2/5
The room and hotel overall felt very rundown and poorly maintained. Four out of the six lights in the room didn’t work, including the bathroom vanity light, which made getting ready difficult in such a dim space. The mirror also had a noticeable film of dust or grime on it that made the room feel unclean. To make matters worse, the in-room phone didn’t work, so contacting the front desk wasn’t even an option. The bedding situation was strange as well — there was no actual blanket or comforter on the bed, just two sheets, so I ended up using towels to stay warm overnight. Breakfast was disappointing too. The food selection was minimal, and the toasters barely functioned; I had to physically hold the lever down the entire time just to toast anything. Overall, the property gave off a neglected, uncomfortable vibe. While the location is convenient, I would not stay here again.
- 3/5
The separate cost for parking was an inconvenience since there was a concert going on that caused parking to be limited.
- 1/5
Wall A/C unit was falling off the wall and leaking water onto the floor. The door only closed fully if slammed. The bathroom floor was dirty looking. The parking is expensive and difficult to get in and out if other cars are waiting (it’s run by the city). It’s a very old property in need of a major refresh, or just tear it down.
- 3/5
You have to pay for parking $39 for overnight or you can valet for $45 and that was not mentioned when booking. It would be very helpful if it would be mentioned when booking at this location. it’s a very old building definitely needs upgrades. Parking area sucks.
- 1/5

Staff was awesome, but for one night and cheap not bad . But rooms are old and need updating and hotel also needs updating tv was not working in our room . Front main door had big gaps and wind and light is coming through our room . Ac was great.
- 1/5
The hotel was gross. The parking garage smelled strongly of pee. The room was terrible and did not match the photos. Plaster was falling off the walls. Doors and trim were damaged. Just terrible.
- 2/5
Room was actually falling apart, door knobs falling on the ground, toilet water keeps running, I asked for an ironing board, spent 3 days still no ironing board..
- 1/5
No hot water , does not appear contractors were competent. Fixtures loose, faulty , lights flickering , pipes constant drip. I did receive a refund and staff was helpful but the building is in disrepair.
