One of the highlights of our visit was the bat tour, which was incredibly interesting and a unique experience I won't forget. Overall, the hotel offered a great combination of comfort, convenience, and access to local attractions. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely return!

Beautiful property and room. As expected. Balcony rooms had great view of fireworks. Very disappointed in experience. My original booking was 3 rooms for a family gathering. Unfortunately two rooms cancelled causing slight glitch at check in, but was handled nicely. But…. Service was not good at restaurant or bar. Not enough help, and several drinks couldn’t be made due to missing ingredients. Food was mediocre for the price. Problems began when dining reservation was not found. I made the reservation weeks early to get the time and patio location at 8 pm. We were still seated inside on time inside. It was busy but that should have been planned for by the hotel. Our drinks and dinner orders were placed together about 15 minutes later. The waitress never checked back. My drink was not correct and tasted bad (White Russian)… I drank it because I had nothing else to drink until we left! No water. Did not see the waitress to replace or tweek the drink. I had planned on having at least three drinks along with my husband but no such luck. No July 4th cheer! We finally left. The food was sent to our room around 9:30. Missed sitting on the balcony I paid for during part of the celebration and drone show because of the extremely slow and poor service. I expected much more. I’m local and came with a plan. Hyatt was not enjoyable.

I was in a double Queen room overlooking Lady Bird Lake. The View was amazing and the room was so comfortable and accommodating. Love how attentive the staff was to my needs whenever contacted. I did not enjoy how cold the hotel was as a whole. I could not go anywhere in the hotel without a jacket. Hundreds of people in the conference I was apart of constantly spoke on how uncomfortably cold it was. So much so that a group of us would go sit outside so that we could over heat in order to come back into the cold hotel and function.

Was given the wrong room. Paid more for a better room but didn’t get it. Paid for late check out, but was called and texted anyway, so didn’t get the extra sleep I paid for. Additionally housekeeping was banging on the door as if I had not previously paid for the late check out. Property in general was much too loud. Will NEVER stay here again! Paid for creek view, but could not see creek from our supposedly private porch that I paid extra for and did not get. NEVER AGAIN!!

Lake views were nice. However trying to park our truck in the garage was impossible. We were then asked to park at an adjacent parking spot and we received a big warning tow away ticket. We decided to go back to valet and they refused to valet. So now we have no where to park. We asked the valet manager what other options are there to park. He said to park in first level of valet. But man it was such a pain so don’t bring your big rig here. Construction everywhere and the neighboring buildings arent friendly. If you have a big truck don’t stay here! Otherwise was a decent stay. A little overpriced and overcrowded in my opinion.

Horrible check-in experience, the absolute worst. I was told my room had been given away, that they were overbooked, that they'd send me to another hotel away from seeing the bats. Brooke at the front desk was fantastic. We upgraded to a top floor corner room. The renovated hotel looks amazing. The room was clean and modern. Check in and check out were easy and going in and out of the parking garage was simple once you got a barcode from the front desk. Bad: We had lukewarm hot water almost the entire time. Even when we did have hot water, it would only last for five minutes or so before it got lukewarm at best. My wife is a hot shower kind of person and so she was dismayed when we got back to the room every night and she was having to freeze her way through a shower. Also, the shower leaked like crazy. It’s made up of two panes of glass with one of the panes on a track system so you can close it. However, in the middle, where the panes overlap, there’s a 1 1/2 inch gap where no matter how careful you are, water escapes and gets all over the bathroom floor. So, every shower requires a towel being placed on the floor which is then literally sopping wet by the time you’re done. It was expected but parking is pretty expensive. I don’t think anybody’s a fan of paying $55 a day to self park your car in a garage. Hotel seemed to be mostly business travelers. I think if you’re traveling for business and you’re just using your room to sleep and are up and out in the morning it’s just fine. However, we were there in vacation and wanted to sleep in occasionally. Unfortunately, the atrium design seems to be inherently loud by itself. By 8 everyone up.

The first night was peaceful, but protests took place every night afterward and are scheduled to continue for another 13 days. From approximately 7:00–10:00 p.m., there is significant noise unless your room is on the opposite side of the hotel with no view. I was also disappointed by the extra convenience fees applied when charging items to the room. Paying additional fees simply for the convenience of room charging felt unnecessary. Pro tip: use your credit card throughout the hotel and do not charge purchases to your room. I do want to give a shoutout to Julia (Night AGM), Eli (Guest Relations Manager), Austin (Front Desk), Chriss (Bellman), Leo (front desk) all of the valet staff & housekeeping, and Mikaela (front desk) for their excellent service. There is also a gentleman who works evenings in the coffee shop who was very kind—I regret not catching his name. Federal Agents and government entities stay here frequently, so be aware that there is a higher police presence, additional security checks, and ongoing protests outside the hotel. Given the current situation and overall disruption, the stay was not worth the price.

When booking this room through Expedia I was dooped into thinking the room I was reserving had a balcony. When I arrived at check-in I was extremely dissatisfied to find I was not getting what I “thought” I was getting. Unfortunately I was also unable to upgrade. This room was near the elevator and could hear people come and go and the room got hot through the night. There were other hotels near by that had a balcony and would have chose those if I knew I would be stuck with something I didn’t want.

I'll start with the more limited pros: -Our balcony and river view were awesome -Staff was friendly (front desk, housekeeping, and bellman) -Easy access to the trail that runs along the river right behind the hotel -Easy access to Congress St. bridge Now the cons: -When we booked their trip it said there was a Starbucks on site. Come to find out, it closed several months ago. -The layout of the hotel with the atrium style meant that the higher floors can hear the happenings of the lower floors and lobby at all hours... not great for when there was a giant conference happening at the hotel and folks partying until the wee hours. -The tap water had a very odd taste to it, that unfortunately can even be tasted when ordering coffee from the on-site market/coffee shop. -Pool was closed for construction... couldn't even access the pool deck. Not ideal for our stay with temps in the low to highs 80s. -Our wifi was super spotty and didn't work almost the entire time we stayed. It definitely would not connect long enough for us to use the Netflix or anything on the tv. -It was pricy! For all the cons, I'd say our stay was definitely not worth the price we paid. We essentially paid a premium for a river view, since we didn't get the Starbucks, a pool, or even working wifi during our trip. While we still enjoyed our trip for the most part, despite the cons related to the hotel stay, I likely would not stay at this hotel again.

This is my 3rd stay at this property. It is a great place and we had an excellent room (1501) which overlooked the river and skyline. Only negative is there is not a lot around the property that easy to walk to especially during the freezing temps that we experienced. During the warmer months walking to restaurants and attractions is easier. This hotel is also excellent if you are traveling during the Bat viewing months as the bridges that the bat nest is right next to the hotel and the boat tours are also docked right outside the hotel.

Compared to other Hyatt Regency’s Austin is a bit old and tired. Still better than most hotels but old and tired none the less. Service was a let down. We got our own bags from the car and up to our room. We got in late so elected not to bother with room cleaning service next morning but didn’t see anyone the following day either so in the end we had a three night stay without any service in our room. No linen change, no bin emptying, nothing. When our car was blocked in by a bus the staff told us “that’s not their problem “. Location was great, parking charges ridiculous for somewhere where parking is available anywhere. Overall okay but expected more at the price.

Parking for self parking was extra high. It should be half that price.
