The property was very nice and clean. The lady who checked me in at the front desk was super nice and friendly. My only concern was the location and amount of homeless people in the neighborhood. I was a little concerned about leaving my car in the parking lot over night.

The whole place was smelling immediately I stepped into the entrance. The front desk area was very dirty.. The elevator area was extremely dirty with wet floor, and also water on the floor inside the elevator. The whole vicinity smells. I couldn't cope

I even asks if I could use the restroom and they said that was out of order as well. I cancel my reservation and went to the Hilton Garden Inn instead and I called to make sure there elevators work.

I was charge twice over deposit. I was charged 109.95 twice. Now I have to wait to the 7 business days for my reimbursement.

Perfect location on the interstate 35, close to University, downtown, Barton Springs public pool.

Stayed ay Holiday Inn before. This hotel was up to the standards we enjoyed at other Inns. Would recommend to anyone for a good nights stay.

We stayed overnight after a concert at Scoot Inn. There is a Bunch of construction, but it was worth the effort. Breakfast choices were turkey sausage, seasoned potatoes, cheese omelette. Pastries,yogurt, and cereals. Highly recommend. The coffee was great too and available all the time

I have stayed in Holiday Inn before but this property seems little sub standard room condition specifically bathroom.

The staff were friendly enough. However, the room was not well kept. Their website says recently renovated but not my room. The carpets had stains, the furniture is flaking apart, and the wallpaper looks old. The lighting in the room was not good either. And my bedding looked yellow, but that could have been the lighting. Both my sink and my bathtub did not drain properly. The sink had a massive crack in it. The breakfast in the mornings were also not good. The eggs were salty, the fruit on Tuesday morning looked as if it was from the Tuesday before, & the pork sausages barely looked cooked. The gym was ok but could have been better. Only one elevator was working with no signage. Everything in the hotel just a decade old & falling apart. Not to mention, the hotel is surrounded by gates for construction and directly next to the loud highway. On the plus side, if cookies are your thing, they did have cookies.

The property is in dire need of a renovation. On the last night of my stay, both elevators stopped working, which made check-out the next morning a real challenge (had a larger suitcase that needed to be taken down multiple flights of stairs). The laminate flooring was peeling off the floor and the walls were wrecked—I’m surprised that it’s not under major reconstruction. The room was clean, but the AC was struggling even though the temperatures were not very high in March. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.

I HATE TO SAY THIS BUT....We always use Holiday Inn Express because we have found that they USUALLY do not rely on chemicals to overcome lack of cleanliness, however, this location did not meet Holiday Inn Express Standards on odors in the room. The smells of odors and the smell of chemicals to overcome those odors were outside our expectations for sure. Everywhere else was fine. The staff was nice.

Internet and TV was not working until later the first night. The elevator never working when we were there.

Staff was great. Ac broke 2nd night and had to be taken apart and cleaned. When cover was taken off ac, it was absolutely disgusting. Floor corners in bathroom were gross and lamp shades had a layer of dust on them

It was a great stay. Room was clean, breakfast was good and hospitallity was great!

Not as well kept as other Holiday Inn Express we have stayed at.

We stayed one night and had a pet with us, a dog. The hotel charged us $50 for the pet, even though the information in the Expedia page said just $15 per night per pet. Asked to talk to a manager on duty, but according to the front desk, because it was a weekend, there was none on site. The front desk called a manager, but said that it was the hotel policy to charge $50, it didn't matter what the Expedia page said.

Wouldn’t recommend!! The tv didn’t work at first (but they did fix it fast and efficiently), the heater didn’t work without making the fire alarm go off, there was hair like someone shaved there face/body in the shower before even using it, the shower took forever to get warm it also was incredibly hard to pull the tab to change it from a bath to a shower had to wrap a towel around it and use all my strength, the floors were sticky, and I left after seeing TWO different cockroaches crawl out the sink!!! Would not recommend… only plus side was the staff was friendly and helpful.

Clean rooms, elevator was down the entire time. Rude front desk attendant as if she didn’t want to be there and it’s everyone fault.

Comfortable stay with reasonable price to include breakfast. Only unpleasant thing was the elevator not working properly.

Terrible staff, everything is covered in dust and the entire hotel, from the lobby to the rooms has a terrible smell between cigar and humidity.

It was an overall good experience it was just the inconvenience of the elevator being out of order. They later fixed it. I would stay again.clean room friendly staff AC was perfect.

Room had an awful wet mold smell. Sink was super wobbly. Really thought it was going to fall off the wall. Hotel was hot. Breakfast did not have alot of warm food option. We stay at alot of holiday inns and this was very low end.

Pricy for the cleanliness of the rooms. Had a stale odor in our room that was a mix of cat food and wet dog.

Bathroom door couldn’t close because it was off the hinges. The couch was filthy. The elevator didn’t work.

The lobby lacks air conditioning. The air conditioning in the room was excessively noisy. It was not the best part of town so I was grateful that the parking lot was very well lit, however, also, it was impossible to fully close the blackout shades so the room was very bright from the well lit parking lot.

Overnight stay, with family the staff was great-but room ac sounds like you are in middle of a runway, loud motor- shower slippery and the shower and bath spout shoots water at same time- room had a slight muggy smell.

Parking was fine, staff was very sweet and helpful. The area around the hotel was under construction but it also had a lot of people just “gathering” and hanging out in the parking lot. We felt uneasy about leaving our vehicle overnight. We also initially received a room that smelt AWFUL. They made it right and switched us when we called down but based off their reaction when we explained the smell- I believe they know it was there and we’re not going to further inspect/ resolve the problem.

The bad: My bed had some strange stains on the sheet, which wasn't discovered until the next day and the one side chair had a dark stain on the fabric, I don't want to know what that was, seriously gross! The carpet had white stains, like paint or drywall residue. The hotel is right off the freeway,which is under construction and just a nightmare. There is nothing around this hotel to see or do, its just a place to sleep in for one night and move on to something better.

I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels over the years with no complaints, but this one was disappointing. We had to wait behind a line of cars waiting to pick up their kids at the school across the street and parking was jammed with parents picking up students. The lock on the exterior door next to the elevators was broken (and we were told that a part had been ordered) and anyone could walk in without a key, the elevator and hallways reeked of weed, and we witnessed a number of shady characters waiting by exterior doors coming in and being escorted by other hotel guests. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable, but the property was under renovation and the surrounding area was sketchy, leaving us with a bit of an uneasy feeling about our stay. I will probably never stay at this location again.

Nice area right around the hotel. It was convenient although traffic was a bit of a mess with the construction, but that has nothing to do with the great hotel.

The property seems new and it's clean. Furniture and bed are not the best but ok. area is rough..didn't feel safe.

Poor customer service and cleanliness. The first room they gave us smells like someone urinated all over the carpet and when I told them, the front desk said "I know. Let me move you to another room." So if you are aware of that already, why assign that room to a customer?

We jusstay one night, the room was clean 👌, The A/C work excellent, The breakfast was good have varieties, but of course can add other options to getting better because guests looks for that.but yes I will stay there again .I didn't get in the pool but was ok, not to big

Checkin was just ok, cookies were good, room was good. Bed was comfortable but I didn’t sleep well because of the road noise from I35. Breakfast was great.

I was so incredibly impressed with my stay! The bed was so comfortable. The pillows were absolutely wonderful. The room was exceptionally clean. It was a great cool temperature. We slept great. There was no noise. The bathroom was clean. The water temperature was great and the breakfast was probably some of the best breakfast I’ve had anywhere the quality of the food was Exceptional. I absolutely will return to Holiday Inn in the future. I had an excellent experience.

When checking in they ask for a $100 deposit that’s not shared on ihg website and should be especially when booking 3rd party or even on the ihg app. The elevator was down and we’re stuck on having to get an upper floor going up and down the stairs the whole stair.

Actual check-in was not bad. When we got to the room, we noticed that the door lock was not working. The door could be opened even if it was supposedly locked. We had to re pack our things and move to another room. The bed frame had a metal bar sticking out under the bedskirt and it cut my husbands calf. Fortunately it was not a deep cut. The gentleman who fixed the metal piece stated that he would recommend that the front desk discount our second night stay. That did not happen. The body wash bottle was full but it did not dispense the product. I had to bathe with shampoo.

Everyone was really nice & informative. They answerred any and all of my questions, I had DOVE in the room to use at my disposal which is a plus and the breakfast was hot & plentiful every morning! My only complaint is the parking, its literally not enough spaces. But dont let that overshadow anyone from coming, this place was very clean.
