East Austin Hotel

Room was fine. Staff was okay. Pool needs attention. Was a little stagnant and smelled like pee. We ended up going to another hotel pool, The pool bar was closed all weekend and we were looking forward to the outdoor bar they advertised. People were in the pool at night until like 3am with nobody around to tell them to leave or be quiet. But it was an okay stay.

It’s in the middle of everything so you could walk to wonderful bars and restaurants, but the pool was a quiet oasis in the courtyard.

The only negative is that my room had bad wi-fi reception. I could only get it if by the front door or by the window.

Hands down, this was an awesome place to stay. They minded their own business and the place was cozy and warm. The best part was the shower. I felt the freedom I deserved. It made me feel relaxed and welcoming. It was safe and I felt very taken care of.

This is a great place to stay during the week, as it's centrally located and it's quiet. I would not recommend a Friday/Saturday night if you are over 40, as the there are lots of loud bars nearby. It has a hip vibe and the price is very reasonable.

Rooms are small but clean. Poolside bar never open. Rooftop bar closes at 10pm and is not really rooftop. You have to pay for parking each day but is pretty secure. Staff great. Pay for what you get.

Good location but no free parking. No free breakfast but pretty close to Barton Springs pool. Their pool was nice but water was too hot.

The room itself was nice and clean. Parking was expensive ($35) but there’s a lot of walkable places in the area so it kind of offset itself. I really wanted to grab a drink and dip in the pool after a long drive. Unfortunately, the water was hot and the bar closed up shop right when I got there. I guess they were having a slow day? It was a Saturday afternoon and the pool was full until they closed down. I had one of the rooms with its own private bathroom. Would stay here again because the location was top.

The staff is AMAZING!! The amenities are wonderful and location is great.

Overall nice and clean but disappointed that the rooftop bar and pool bars were closed on a Saturday night. Also the rooms had a musty Pinesol smell. Our rental car also received a scratch on the bumper in the parking garage.

Really comfortable and convenient stay in Austin close to all the things. Parking is covered and secure (a daily fee required). Plenty of spaces to relax or get creative.

Looved !!! This hotel !!! From the customer service to the room to the patio just loved it !! The best was do so soft !!! The location was so convenient We literally didn’t have to drive anywhere to eat or have a good time. And it was close enough to the lake so we could get our morning run . Most definitely will be staying here again

This is my second time staying here. The first time was great but, the staff didn’t let me know about the on site amenities such as the bars and restaurants. They also didn’t let me know of the $10 coupons I could use there. First time I ended up not using any of these amenities, this time I did. Loved the poolside bar, rooftop bar and restaurant. The bartenders have great personalities. Parking is charged daily but is pretty straight forward. Beds are comfy. The vibes are all there. Def will be making this my go-to hotel when I’m in Austin.

This wonderful little hotel is full of charm. Beautiful styling, clean as a whip, great amenities—including robes—& in a neighbourhood with lots of character. We loved it!

We loved the pool and that we were able to use it early before checking in. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Would stay here again.

This was the cutest boutique hotel ever!! The staff was super friendly, the room was modern, stylish with an extremely comfortable bed & fabulous toiletries!! We did not get to enjoy the pool or rooftop bar but definitely will return!! Had breakfast at Poeta & was amazing…even had some mimosas.. highly recommend this hotel!!!

This was my second stay this month. Both times were great experiences. The staff is very accommodating. They offer a lot with your stay for a very reasonable cost in a great location. I will stay here anytime I come to Austin.

Absolutely love this spot

Staff was very friendly. Check-in was quite easy. I arrived early and they stored my bag, which was nice. Also they have an extra toothbrush and toothpaste in the lobby, which was helpful since I forgot some. It's one block away from a very loud bar so if you are on the side of the hotel that faces that bar on a weekend, it can be difficult to sleep before 2 am. If you are in a room that faces the pool, you might also hear some noise late at night from people in the courtyard.

My husband and I had a nice stay in Austin East! The location is perfect. You are close to several bars and restaurants. To get to downtown, you can ride an electric scooter or take a quick Waymo ride. We also really enjoyed the pool. They even provided floaties. As far as the room goes, we really loved the bed and comfy pillows. I did feel that the bathroom could benefit from some improvements. It was slightly dirty with stains on the walls and tile. There were also cracks and chips in the tiles. We loved the balcony and wet bar, especially because they had a mini fridge. Overall, I would say we had a great stay and loved our trip to Austin!!

Property is decent for the price. But room had unconventional design where bathroom walls did not extend all the way to the ceiling. Good views of the downtown from the hallways though.

This was a nice boutique style hotel in downtown Austin. It was a great stay for us and our kids for one night. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with our needs.

The property and staff were nice. Wish they would update the hours for the pool bar online. It never seems to be open and it’s a drag to have to go into the restaurant to get drinks but they will service poolside for food. All in all a nice place and we’ll stay again.

The staff was very accomodating to our needs, and the on site, secured parking option was a plus. We enjoyed our dinner at Poeta and appreciated the $10 food credit. Beds were comfortable and the room was well stocked with all we needed. The pool water was way too warm! Understand that it is in direct sun and the days were very hot, but there are ways to manage that to make it at least a bit refreshing. Our first room smelled like cigarette smoke, but Destiny was very accomodating and upgraded us to a first level, poolside room.

Very nice and professional staff. The underground parking was very convenient and safe. The property, the pool, and all areas, in general, were very well maintained. Our room was spacious and clean. The location was excellent!

Staff was nice and it was a very easy check-in and check-out. Loved that almost everything is close to this hotel - and by close I mean walking distance. Their pool area is very convenient and well kept. They really do care about the safety and wellbeing of their guests. Will definitely book here again!

Excellent room if you are looking for something affordable and nearby local stores and restaurants! It was easy for us to go get dinner and just walk around at night. They do have a pool, but we didn't get to swim. Looks more like a pool for cooling and wading than actual swimming from the size of it. The room we stayed in was great. It was cool and the bed was pretty comfortable. The bathroom was interesting because the wall did not connect with the ceiling so technically you could hear the person showering or using the restroom. The staff were amazing even when I had the munchies at 3am, there was someone in the lobby that I could grab snacks. The only downside I will warn others about was the wifi. The hotel offers complimentary wifi for the guests but it literally disconnected everytime I tried to connect. Sometimes the wifi didn't even show up as an option. If you are okay without it, then the stay would be totally fine.

Great value and ideal location if you want to stay in a hip part of town with tons of nearby bars and restaurants. Not ideal for families but an awesome option if you’re looking for excitement.

We stayed one night before catching an early flight out of Austin. Our friends met us for supper at Poeta and it was outstanding! Best lasagna ever! The hotel is close to bars, so there is some music noise, which is to be expected—not terrible though! Will def stay again when we have an early flight!

For the most part, the place was adequate. However, the place had a musty smell. Relatives who had stayed there also remarked about the smell so it wasn't just us. It gave us an incentive to not stay in the hotel unless to sleep.

Amazing hotel. Room super clean room. Huge bathroom. The shower was great. Lots of water pressure. The staff was courteous and professional. Will absolutely stay again

However, they had three areas for food and drinks all of which close early in the evening. The pool bar does not have food nor does the Roof rooftop bar which I think is a little surprising. The actual restaurant closes early on weeknights so there is nowhere to get a snack or drink after 8 PM. Other than that it is a nice place!

If you’re looking for a comfy bed, this is the place!!

Wish check in staff would have explained on the amenities on site. I would have likely spent money at the on site cafe, restaurant or bar.

The room was great, I got a suite. Though my ONE complaint was that the lobby staff didn't explain all the amenities to me. They explained the parking situation, which I greatly appreciated considering that Austin has some obscene parking costs but they failed to mention the on site bars, the on site restaurants and cafe as well as their hours, also failed to mention that you get some credit to use at the restaurant. This was small but it would have been nice to know. Hell, I would have likely spent more money on the property.

We absolutely loved our stay here. My friend and I stayed here for a girls night and I would absolutely stay here again. I normally travel with my kids, and this probably wouldn't be my top choice for that, but without kids this is a wonderful place to stay.

I had a floor room facing the pool and it was immaculate and felt super private which I appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Austin.

I would’ve given this a 5 star review but during my stay I had encountered WAY too many bugs. Super frustrating for the price I paid I shush they would do something about that.

The room was lovely and very conveniently located to the Scoot Inn and several eateries on E 6th. The roof top bar was closed when we visited, but the pool was open and super cute. The cafe onsite was super cute! Food looked good. We had our coffee there. So good! Love that I didn’t have to walk far for espresso after drinking the coffee provided in the room. Would stay again!

The East Austin Hotel was in a very convenient location for downtown, SoCo, and more. A quick Uber ride took us anywhere we wanted to go. The hotel room was very nice, and we had a poolside room with a balcony, and we enjoyed sitting there. The restaurant Poeta at the hotel served us some of the most delicious food we have ever had. You must try the beet salad. We were given a $10.00 off coupon to use at the restaurant each day of our stay. The pool was well maintained, and the pool bar was a nice place to hang out. The staff provide us bottled water upon request and were very helpful with any questions we had. There were food trucks and lots of entertainment locations right around the hotel. If we come back to Austin, this is where we will stay.

Location is good but very busy street. Lots of loud music into the late hours. Was required to put down an additional $150 “damage advance”, that would be refunded. Not sure why they need this but felt it was excessive. Nice that they offer a $10 restaurant credit, except we were there for an event and never had time to use it.

I wouldn’t stay again! Lighting was low. Bar was closed on a Friday night. Restaurant didn’t look good. Bathroom wasn’t clean. There was someone else’s trash in our trash can

The room and hotel stay itself were excellent. My only complaint would be that if you are checking in later towards the evening, there was no way to actually get into the hotel. The main entrance was closed and we had to knock on a side door that required a key card to enter until we were let in.

Staff was very attentive and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was amazing! There is a Keurig machine with little packets and mini fridge in the room. There is a microwave in the lobby of you need! This hotel is near EVERYTHING you need. Please be warned you are in a party area so your neighbors and the sounds below will travel. Just use a white noise machine and you should be good. Would stay again!!

Everything was fine, but the most remarkable feature of my stay was the superb dinner for our party of 17, family and old friends. The food was delicious, carefully selected for all kinds of dietary choices, and served family style at a leisurely pace … a perfect event!

Cool hotel, poolside double queen was a good size. Small closet. Nice balcony overlooking pool. Poeta restaurant was nice for dinner, and there is a 2nd story bar as well, with no food option.

What a fun, eclectic place. Our room had a turtle foot stool! Great bathrobes, easy temp control, great deck, and loved the bed, too. Location was easy walkable - and great food nearby and in the attached restaurant, too.
