Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location and friendly staff, but many guests are unhappy about the extra charge for parking and the lack of complimentary breakfast. Some guests also mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance in the rooms.

I can’t believe you have to pay $38 a day to park your car at the hotel while paying to stay there!!! Uncalled for and a surprise after checking in.

Nice clean friendly place. Love that is walking distance from moody center.
- 5/5
Convenience to Moody Center. Went 3 times to Denny's next door Nothing, loved everything

The location, we were spending the night because we didn’t want to drive after attending a concert. NA

This is an older hotel but has had updates. Our room was nice, clean and bed was amazingly comfy. Nice add was the in room safe. The only complaints I have was the smell in the lobby and elevators. What ever it is they are using was very strong and hard to breathe. Our room didn’t have that smell. Also they charge you $39 to park which I thought was totally unnecessary when there is plenty of room to park on their property. This was not valet and not a parking garage.
- 4/5
Close to the venue

They charge for everything and its a pretty hefty price. 2 small cups of wine cost me 32 dollars. The price for me to park my car was 42 dollars for the night. Good location. The best thing was having an awesome retro like Denneys only feet from the parking lot.

Room was well kept staff was great and helpful. Wonderful experience.

The property was excellent overall. Our rooms were comfortable and roomy. The only thing that was less than excellent was the very limited menu. The site describes a restaurant in the hotel, but it was really a bar with food options.

Lots of Unexpected fees! :-) Not returning to this property.

All was well with the property with the exception of being charged for parking. The property has its own parking, but there is no security or valet; therefore, there is no justification for us being charged $40 per night for parking for us being allowed to park on the premises.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and pretty quiet considering the amount of of traffic and construction going on. Location was very convenient to attractions.
- 5/5
Front desk was amazing! They made sure we had everything we needed and recommended the best way to travel to Moody Center (we were here for a concert). I would most certainly stay here again!
- 2/5
I was charged $6 around 8p after checking out for the bottle water in the room and I did not touch the water. I had to call and get a refund.
- 4/5
Location and staff. Rooms felt a bit dated.
- 3/5
I was annoyed that the parking was $38 on top of the cost of the room and wasnt validated.

How close it was to the venue for our event we were attending to. That it wasn’t specified I needed to be 21 to check in at the hotel. Had to wait 2 hours for someone of the age to come and check us in, we drove about 4 hours to Austin, we weren’t from the area.
- 5/5
We had a very nice stay.
- 5/5
The front desk staff Martha have top tier service. Gabi did as well. The room was clean and so refreshing as it was close to 100 degrees. The bed was clean and felt so comfortable. I loved this location. Everything was made easy and the complimentary water!!! Baby!!! Was needed and appreciated!

Great stay! Staff is friendly love the complimentary cookie! Very convenient location if you have an event to the moody center walkable! Bed & pillows are comfy is always a plus! I would definitely stay here again!

While the room was clean, bathroom sink did not drain properly (clogged?). Room was also warm.

Otherwise overpriced --especially the fee for the OUTSOURCED, outside self-parking.
- 3.5/5
Close to moody center always clean Had a discrepancy with the amount paid. Per Booking I should have paid $175 a night before taxes and fees and they charged me $215 a night before taxes and fees. Messaged them and still no response

I liked the cleanliness of the hotel and the room. We enjoyed a swim in the pool, water was perfect. Paying for parking! As it easy every thing is so expensive and then having to pay for parking which I wasn’t expecting, especially since we were staying there for the night.

I loved how close it was to Moody Center.
- 5/5
My only complaint was that the outside traffic noise was very annoying.,Way to many sirens at night. As if the exterior windows were not designed to help block out the noise.
- 5/5
Great service
- 3/5
Hotel and room were clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that for the price of dinner and breakfast the food could have been a lot better.
- 5/5
This is our second time staying here. Great amenities and location. Safe parking (about $40/night).
- 2/5
A room with a view of the city? More like a glimpse. The bed was uncomfortable. It has the same decor from 20 years ago. Breakfast and parking are not even included. You are definitely paying for the location and not amenities.
- 1/5
Make sure you read the fine print because they will slap you with a $213 parking fee to park even though you are a guest to stay there with your vehicle. Not one place was this written, mentioned our brought up. Also we killed roaches in our room every day. I didn’t make a fuss it’s Texas you have bugs but if you’re going to charge me premium rates then give me a $213 parking fee on top I shouldn’t have bugs to sleep with.
- 3/5
Location was great for us. Parking is an issue. Not just 38 service chargeable taxes added. Need to be able to validate parking . It is a third of the cost for a one night stay.
- 2/5
I booked king bed non smoking room; but when I checked in with receptionist, she didn’t bother to tell me the room she gave me is accessibility room and has double twin beds. I could have make big deal about it, but I was exhausted from the flight and I didn’t bother to go down and wait an other hours to get an other bed. All I can do just leave a review.
- 5/5
Very nice and comfortable bed.
- 3/5
Breakfast is not included, you have to pay for parking ($38 a night), found a cockroach in the room and some hair in the bathroom. Will not be returning.
- 5/5
The front desk was very friendly, the room was cleaned. I loved how quiet it was.
- 5/5
Everything was good only thing I didn’t like was the $30 charge for everyday for parking.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 3/5
According to Expedia this location was only an 8 minute walk to the Moody Amphitheater, the Capitol building and so much more. Was not even close to walkable. Also Expedia said that they had a free breakfast buffet for guests. Did not have any type of buffet and had some type of breakfast for a price. The buffet and location were why I choose this spot, as we are in our 70’s and trying to make everything as easy as possible. Also, was not told nor did I see you had to pay for parking each nite. Will never use Expedia again for any reason. So dissatisfied.
- 3/5
Our specific room needed some work done. The shower had a constant drip/leak, half of the mirror lights didn’t work, the AC wouldn’t go below 73, etc. The staff was really nice and the property overall was well kept, but the room itself wasn’t the best.
- 5/5
Amazing stay!! Staff was super friendly and the room was nice and clean!
- 5/5
Loved the location, close to Moody center
- 2/5
Charges for everything parking breakfast etc. No microwave room very small.
- 4/5
Hotel is nice and clean. Staff are friendly. However, $38 daily parking for hotel guests is absurd. Please consider extra cost before booking. They may be afew bucks cheaper than other venues but most of other hotels don’t charge parking in the Austin area.
- 5/5
Great stay as always and the AC works like a champ. The staff was super helpful when my mom accidentally left her jewelry in the nightstand after checking out! Crisis averted!

I asked this morning for room service, then came back later and nothing was done. The receptionist said a maintainer went, but they didn't do anything. Earlier tonight I had asked again for service and no one showed up. I also asked for towels and brought them up to my room myself. I even booked an extra night, which was today. The visit was going so well up until now, it's very unfortunate that my last and additional booked day was so unsatisfactory.

The room was clean and well kept. Friendly staff made the check in process easy even though the lobby was very busy
- 4/5
Clean property and walking distance to Moody Center where the our concert was held.
- 1/5
Our AC leaked all over our carpet and soaked half of the room. They charged for water bottles we never had. Also charged $23 for buffet breakfast that was not nice at all, like any average hotel breakfast with powdered eggs.
- 2/5
Hotel is old, showerhead doesn’t put out much water, not that clean. No hair dryer in room, asked for one at the front desk, but never got one.
- 4/5
Walking distance of the venue …. Just walked back because we could not find the Lyft driver
- 4/5
$23 for breakfast is OUTRAGOUS,
- 4/5
Room was good, parking was ok, very close to our concert venue.
- 4/5
The hotel was very clean, nice and comfortable. The only issue I had was paying $32 per night for parking. Parking should be free. For a company like the Hilton to be making millions of dollars off guest for parking is absolutely insane.
- 5/5
Miguel was amazing and provided comfort and assistance when he was able to. The hotel even approved refunding my stay since I was being picked up that night due to my car troubles and needing to find a way back home. Only issue I had was wanting to take a relaxing bath after the stressful drive but the bathtub was filthy and leaking. Would stay again, they seriously made me feel so safe
- 5/5
I loved everything about this hotel: clean, friendly, great location for Moody Center concerts, advise pedicab for transport, good walking distance during the daytime-not advised for those with any physical impairment, restaurant on property, bar and restaurant inside hotel; my only EXCEPTION was daily charge for hotel parking WHICH is the normal for most of the area hotels. I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely book there again.
- 5/5
Great customer service, clean room and walking distance to Moody.
- 5/5
It was very clean and helpful. The staff are great!! Especially Jennifer the cafeteria personnel staff.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I stayed at Double Tree cause my son is coming to UT. But what was our surprised after paying for our room we have to pay the parking space in the hotel as well. The breakfast was terrible.
- 5/5
Close to venues
- 5/5
Easy walk to venue we were going to. Easy check in.
- 4/5
The room was clean, comfortable, and a decent size. The bed was nice, the bathroom was updated, and the air conditioning worked well, although the window unit was loud. The hotel itself feels dated, but reasonably maintained for its age. The biggest issue is room location. One side faces the cemetery and the other faces I-35. If you are sensitive to noise, pay extra for the cemetery side because the highway noise goes on all night. The location is convenient for UT and easy Uber access, but there is not much within walking distance besides a Dennys next door. Parking also costs extra. Overall, it is a solid mid-range hotel if you just need a place to sleep near campus for a conference or short trip. If you want a more modern experience or a hotel surrounded by restaurants and entertainment, look elsewhere.
- 5/5
Location was close to venue and reviews were accurate. This is a well maintained facility, staff were great. If you stay best check-in early, parking is limited. One of the quietest places I've stayed. Would definitely stay there again.
- 1/5
Room was not cleaned properly before we got there, hair in shower and nail clipping in floor. Ice machine broken, no buffet breakfast on the Sunday as there was an “emergency”. Tried to get a refund, they tell me to contact where I book room from and when I do they tell me to contact hotel direct. No one can resolve my issue.

Such great service at the front seat and bar! We had a great time and hope to be back. Bed was comfortable, room clean, great view!
- 5/5
Perfect location for a concert at Moody. Clean hotel and the staff was nice.
- 4/5
Our air conditioner did not work in our room and we had to pay extra for parking, $42.76 per night, had to pay $50 deposit, which we weren’t aware of this before we arrived at the hotel. I’m not sure if we will stay there on our next trip to Austin.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
I enjoyed my stay here, and found the room adequate, and the grounds pleasant enough. I enjoyed the fact that it was right next-door to a Denny’s, and if I go back, I will definitely try out Denny’s. But I probably will skip this hotel next time, because it is not as close to the University of Texas area as I would like to be. It’s also very near the freeway, which means it’s less enjoyable to stroll outside. Otherwise, not a bad choice.
- 5/5
Clean room everything great the only problem I see different you have to pay for parking at the property This is a great hotel to be charging for parking
- 5/5
Very clean and convenient
- 5/5
The entire facility was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and efficient. Bartender was great.
- 5/5
Great hotel and great location! Staff was so friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The Bed and pillows were outstanding. I had two blissful nights sleep!
- 2/5
Horrible 9 dollar waters and the ac in my room broke.
- 3/5
9 dollar water was a joke. AC went out and took them an hour to fix. I ended up getting a sick because they don’t clean the air conditioner.
- 4/5
No microwave in room. Ice machine on 4th floor not working. Staff were not approachable.
- 5/5
I didn't look for a mini bar. The room was clean and very comfortable.
- 4/5
Housekeeping was very good as was the front desk personnel and bar persons. The property is getting a bit worn/tired comparted to other Doubletrees we have stayed at.
- 5/5
It was the perfect hotel for our concert experience!
- 5/5
Clean, staff very courteous, excellent location. Restaurant and bar too pricey.
- 3/5
The hotel is fairly old so many areas may have been clean, but didn't look it. The ice machine on the 3rd floor had no ice. And I guess keeping with the times there were no niceties like shower caps or swabs. The air conditioner worked nicely. Finally, on checking in, we only received 2 cookies for 3 guests because they were afraid they would run out. Petty, I know but there it is.
- 5/5
Excellent staff and super comfortable beds.
- 5/5
Beds are super comfortable and rooms were clean. I will definitely stay again in my next visit to Austin.
