A “never could go wrong” place to stay in downtown area. This hotel is awesome, the room itself is cozy. The location itself is not too far of a walk to 6th street bar district, a 7-Eleven, and Chikfila just to name a few. Unfortunately the biggest inconvenience I personally had is looking for parking spot since I drove, ultimately ended up going to those garages where you receive a ticket at the entry then pay for exiting which adds up quickly. Overall the stay itself was fantastic! The parking is where it can get tricky and be a hassle
- 3/5
I have stayed at this hotel for about three times. But this past time the staff were really trying to crack down on the outside drinks at the pool, which I understand. But I do not like being questioned anytime I have my cooler getting filled with ice at the bar and they automatically assume I am going to the pool when I have a whole lake day plan instead. Also, the parking sucks. Beware you may pay $80 a night for parking.
- 2/5
The room itself was nice. The room is small though and definitely has a modern almost futuristic feel to it. The amenities inside the room are nice. An iPad is provided that helps control lighting, blinds, and the tv. It is supposed to control the air conditioner as well but it was not working very well. Our room was so hot the entire weekend that I had to call the front desk and they provided a table top fan at least. Above all the main reason I will not be returning for another stay here is the parking and bag unloading/loading situation! Beware that this hotel does not have their own private parking lot or garage and there is no parking available around the property. The closest parking available is the parking garage next door but the elevators for that parking garage are not connected to the hotel whatsoever which means you will have to trek with all of your luggage/bags down the parking garage outside around the block and then finally you get to the hotel…. Not ideal whatsoever. If I had researched better and knew that would be the accommodations for parking I would’ve paid the extra money to stay somewhere with a luggage dolley or valet service at least.. no dolleys available too btw. Definitely more of a minimalist hotel for someone who only has a backpack or one tiny suitcase.

The hotel had a very modern look and was clean. However the technology was not the easiest to use (coming from someone in their 20’s). I would use the tablet to turn the air conditioning down and the temperature never regulated. The rooftop pool and bar was a nice addition, but if you are traveling with kids I would not recommend. The check in/checkout process was odd. They show it being fully self instructed but the workers would intervene and decided to ask questions when we are already leaving. Even though there were more than six workers just sitting there. They also have no designated parking garage or validation. When we asked about it the worker just explained how a parking garage works…
- 4/5
Nice hotel but room was tough due to positioning of the bed. Have to crawl over your partner to get out of bed. Rooms are the size of a small cruise ship cabin. Otherwise a nice hotel near a lot of the good spots in Austin. I’d give it 4.5 stars all totaled.
- 5/5
Overall great stay. Would definitely come back.

So fun
- 5/5
Hopefully Marriott leaves it be.
- 5/5
The hotel was really neat, we loved the ambiance and all the cool decorations. The staff was very helpful with an issue I had that happened before I arrived and everyone was very friendly. Love that the bar inside was open until 2am. The rooftop pool/bar was also cool, wish we could’ve gotten to go for a swim while we were there. The only thing is you have to pay for parking in one of the parking garages next to the hotel. I paid about $37 for one night. Overall stay was great. The room was really cozy and I loved the tablet-controlled room lights and tv for the vibes. Would definitely stay again.

if you like a private bathroom not the place. it was clean, staff was great, pool was awesome.
- 5/5
Property is super cute and comfy for a small room. Staff were all amazing, super friendly and helpful. Gym could be better, some machines maybe and the peloton mirror wasn’t working and one treadmill was wobbly.
- 5/5
I really liked the big bed, the privacy for the bathroom, loved the little vanity mirror. Loved how everything was electronic and controlled with an iPad. Loved the black out curtains and blinds. DIDNT have Netflix, Hulu, Disney. Not very much good tv platforms. PARKING!!

The service was great but the room was incredibly small. Place was clean and organize and we were greeted. Not enough room and for the price it’s crazy now that I’ve been. And no designated parking you have to pay and park quite far.

one of the cleanest friendliest nicest places i’ve stayed, definitely recommend it, plan on staying again anytime i come to austin
- 1/5
Good location, helpful staff. Tiny rooms poorly designed and poorly built. There was a leak from under the bathroom floor (with water staining from previous events) in the first 5 mins of being in the room, and the only fixture I'd used was the toilet. No parking, fine in NYC or Chicago, needs to be front and center in booking info in a town without trains.

And the AC would not get below 70°, please we asked multiple times they could not fix it. All they said it takes a while, over there a little over 3 days and never got cool inside of the room. I had to buy a fan to just be comfortable enough to sleep Refrigerator is the same type of thing it would not get cool The staff was very nice and it was in a good location but the actual rooms suck being small and hot
- 4/5
All the employees were friendly and helpful. The pizza from the bar was delicious, we had the Burrata one. I loved the tiny room and it was beautiful!! The only complaint I could have is that I couldn't get the room as cold as I like to sleep in, but even with that, it was awesome. And I will be back!!!
- 3.5/5
Good
- 4/5
Had hot water this time but the a/c was struggling. Everybody was very helpful and the vibe was positive!
- 1/5
Disappointed. Stayed here and called the front desk to see if they could help due to the room being hot and ac not working. Maintenance came and pointed the thermometer to the unit and said it was 79….. and that the room was cold to him. How is 79 degrees cold in Texas heat? The room stayed hot the rest of the weekend and received no help whatsoever. Went to the pool at night and the guy at the bar proceeds to tell us no more swimming yet there were people in there swimming and also dipping they’re toes… very dissatisfied.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here, pool had great view!
- 5/5
Close to everything, loved it!
- 3/5
There was way too much LQBTQ stuff everywhere in the hotel. I’m not opposed to it but when it’s thrown in your face literally everywhere. It becomes exhausting. I’d look elsewhere in the future. And the homeless were very aggressive, the city needs to get it under control. It’s unsafe.
- 5/5
Z our bartender was amazing, attentive and customer service driven. He is the reason we intend to book another stay.
- 5/5
it was great
- 3/5
I had to switch rooms initially because sheets were stained red. The floors seemed as if housekeeping never mops because one walk on the room floor your feet are black no exaggeration. Staff was a little unprofessional and noo parking. 33 dollars everytime you park in the parking garage across the street and you have to walk your luggage across the street, very annoying . but other than that the aesthetics were amazing.
- 2/5
The ac went down and didnt get no discount only breakfast no fan and I didnt even eat breakfast
- 5/5
Overall a good stay!
- 3/5
As everyone else mentioned terrible problems with the A/C. Staff are great, pool is clean and enjoyable. Room clean and neat. Bring a fan and you will be able ro sleep at night.
- 4/5
The only problem my boyfriend and I had during this stay was on the last night of our stay with the temperature in the room. It was apparently broken and when we asked front desk about it they gave us a strong fan to use for our last night of our stay.
- 2/5
Ac was broken
- 1/5
No AC in the rooms and we were not told by check in staff before going up. No solution offered besides “go to the pool and cool off” either. We’ve been in the room for 4 hours and there is no air coming out of the vents and it hasn’t gotten cooler at all. Front desk has been telling customers that the ac is “struggling to keep up” with the current “heatwave” in Austin but there’s no heatwave in Austin currently according to any weather app. They are just using it as an excuse for their broken AC. They should’ve been upfront with the situation at the check in iPads so we could’ve found a different hotel to stay at because at this point it is too late to find and move to a new hotel since we have an event at dinner time.
- 2/5
The AC in our room was broken. Called the front desk and they told us they would send someone up. No one came. We went downstairs and they just apologized and said they can’t do anything about it. Offered us free breakfast. It’s summer in Texas - it was 101 degrees that day. Staff wasn’t helpful! The hotel itself is pretty cool and nice. Bar staff were amazing!
- 5/5
It was perfect!!!
- 5/5
Loved my stay! Rooms are smaller than usual but didn’t care since I’m petite and love the small details, black out curtains and clean room. A different yet cozy stay, recommend!
- 5/5
Fun cozy rooms, great staff, and great value for money,

The stream was weak
- 4/5
Great place to stay, close walking distance to everything downtown. Rooms aren’t big but super cool and high tech. Perfect for a business trip/stay.
- 1/5
At check in the staff allowed me to check in before letting me know the AC in the whole building was out.. after a 4 hour drive across texaz the last thing we needed was a hotel with o AC... they said they would refund the cost because we had to find a other stay , still have not received my refund..
- 1/5
My air conditioner wasn't working... my refrigerator wasn't working.... the staff wasn't helpful at all... it was so hot
- 5/5
nice hotel and convenient location sucks they don’t have their own parking BUT there was a garage at the building across so it worked out
- 2/5
El Aire acondisionaso no funsiona me cambiaron de Abitasion y fue lo mismo tube q dormir con dos ventiladores mucha calor mi estancia fue una deserción. Por el ásperto de la climatisasion
- 5/5
Great location although parking is a small issue offsite.
- 3/5
The hot water sucked and the room would never get cold until night time.. had the lights on low and the the blinds closed and still wasn’t able to cool the room off until night time
- 1/5
It was so hot in my stay idk what was going on I had to cancel my stay and go to a different hotel which I’m still waiting for them to send me my money back
- 5/5
Your research, you’ll know that, it came with everything you needed except an iron but they have a separate room for that. The thing I liked most about it was the ambient light in the shower and how you can control everything from a tablet, also check in is self check in which is pretty cool too. You can also save the check in card you use for next time you stay there. They don’t have there own parking garage so you’ll need to park in a public, if you do park in the public garage just a heads up you don’t need to go through the garage it’s self to get to your car, you can buzz the building next to it( 600 congress) and they’ll let you in and you can take an elevator. I’d recommend if your single stay or a couple stay but for kids, idk if they have rooms with more beds but I’ve only seen them with just one bed and that’s it. The trip was amazing and the view is okay but overall everything was great no complaints really except they could add an iron to the rooms in instead of having a whole separate room.
- 3/5
The place was soooo cool. But the AC wasnt working and the front desks only option for us was to check out or basically deal with it.
- 4/5
I enjoyed everything about this hotel, but it seems like it is common for the AC to go out because other reviews have mentioned the same thing. Aside from that everything was great, hotel staff was great, amenities were great, and perfect for solo or two travelers.
- 5/5
Gotta love the CM vibe
- 3/5
The AC went out in the dead of summer with temperatures outside above 100. The poor staff onsite had no plan, no guidance, and no real options to provide guests. This was an epic failure of senior management and corporate for putting their people and guests through this dilemma.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Very clean!

in the end, i do recommend this place to others and would gladly stay again in the future!
- 5/5
Loved the room and the view. The room was super cool!

Had a fantastic 4-night stay at citizenM in Austin, Downtown. The hotel is wonderful -the ambiance and design are so modern and welcoming. The staff were absolutely lovely and made everything easy. Clean, comfortable and great atmosphere. I will definitely be back on my next trip and highly recommend to my family and friends.
- 1/5
i was never noticed prior to my arrival that there was going to be a mandatory power out
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and helpful! Loved the atmosphere!
- 4/5
Nice property. Our only complaint was that the pool was closed for one day of our stay.
- 5/5
La experiencia fue increíblemente fantástica. La pasamos increíble en familia.
- 4/5
Some complaints I have are below: 1. While doing your business in the restroom, the ventilation was able to remove all the small. Maybe the restroom fan needs more power. 2. Some food marks were present on the comfy chair inside the room. I think some kid wiped their hands on the fabric, and the housekeeping staff is not trained to clean it. 3. The rooms are extremely small for a king-size bed. I don't envision a 4-member family staying in such a small room. 4. The guest restroom in the lobby didn't have trash picked up, and instead the cleaning crew put the entire trash bag inside the hand tissue receptacle in the men's room, which was very unsightly and very unprofessional..
- 5/5
Great price, great staff, great location best breakfast and cappuccino in town!!
- 5/5
Room was comfortable and clean! Rested well. Super nice and friendly staff. I will stay here again when visiting in Austin!
- 5/5
I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was welcoming, professional, and always willing to help. My room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the entire property felt safe and inviting. The amenities were excellent, and everything exceeded my expectations. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the outstanding customer service. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
- 5/5
JUST BE AWARE THEY DO NOT HAVE PARKING SO YOU MUST PARK IN THE STREET OR PARK IN A PARKING LOT AND PAY $37 A DAY
- 5/5
The rooms were smaller than expected but rooms were very clean. Check in and check out was easy and simple. There's a Parking garage right infront of the hotel so it was very convenient. Pool was clean and there's towels near by in case you didn't take one out.
- 1/5
rooms were ridiculously small
- 5/5
Amazing stay!
- 5/5
Great location, really friendly staff and clean rooms. Lobby is so cool and love the decor.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The room was amazing I loved the view. The lobby had beautiful decoration all the way up to the rooftop. The staff were very friendly and helpful with everything I definitely would stay there again.
- 4/5
Factor in about $35 a night to park in a public garage, as this property does not have parking. The breakfast was the usual/simple, but done nicely. I appreciated the chicken sausage and the bacon was great! The eggs and potatoes were really good too. I must have been hungry lol.
- 3/5
Why is the breakfast so much in the morning for fake eggs? Why don't they accept cash at the hotel? Why isn't there an option to not use the tablet for the switches?
- 5/5
Rooms can be small, but the hotel was a very fun and friendly base camp after bar crawls and days spent shopping
- 5/5
Staff was impressive and just the right amount of helpful and friendly. The tech and the modern environment is always so much fun here. I like that it is not your typical hotel experience.
- 5/5
Rooms are very clean, beds aren’t as plush as I like but still very comfortable, staff was fantastic, breakfast was good/coffee was superb, location was good, parking was the only downer but still not bad.
- 3/5
My refrigerator in the room didn’t work and there was no where to put my clothes. Everything had to stay in my suitcase. The room was a lot smaller than expected, I felt slightly claustrophobic at first but finally got used to it thanks to the “ascend” setting on the IPad they supplied. That was a pretty cool part of the room. The bed was brick hard. The blackout curtains were the best I’ve ever had in a hotel room. I also asked for a high level room and was put on floor 8. When there’s 17 floors I don’t consider that to be a “higher level”. Staff was not helpful or informative at check in. Had to figure it all out on my own.
- 5/5
The best time me and my husband went for our anniversary and also for her birthday our second visit great service property extremely clean.
- 4/5
I know a lot of reviews for this hotel were either hating it or loving it so I figured I’d fill the “it’s a hotel” niche. Staff that I met was friendly, mind you most everything in the hotel is person-less to some extent. My only complaints are that my room only had a comforter and no sheet beyond the fitted one and when you use the iPad, switching channels on the TV is quite slow. Some of the in room features I didn’t find until I was checking out such as the mini fridge and the under the bed drawer that has more sheets and a physical remote. If you see a silver circle on anything, that is a drawer. The iPad is relatively easy to use and provides some fun sleep ambience that changes the color of lights in the room and plays rain sounds. The perfect hotel for people who get hotels to sleep and don’t spend much time as the room itself is quite small. I heard that the Colorado street facing rooms were quite noisy so I opted for inner courtyard and I didn’t hear a peep from outside.
- 5/5
No loud disturbances.
- 5/5
Very cool experience from the moment of the self check-in and my stay. And first time at a micro hotel definitely would stay again.
- 5/5
good
- 5/5
Nice location. Very clean and breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Clean room, small but good for two people. Great location.
- 5/5
If the city has a CitizenM then we’re booking it! We first discovered CitizenM in South Beach, Miami! When we found out there is one in Austin, we booked and loved our stay! Perfect location, where we walked everywhere including the Moody Center for a concert we attended! The elevators can sometimes take awhile especially if their is a line of people but patience should always be practiced!
- 5/5
They could benefit from more bartenders. They only had one gentleman working that station on a Saturday night.
- 1/5
Ac never cooled room, was hot all through out the day / night complaining won’t do anything. Never got ac fixed and room is small.
- 5/5
Loved this hotel. I’ve been to different locations and I loved them all
- 5/5
Citizen M never disappoints
- 4/5
Me gustó mucho este hotel
- 3/5
My room, the shower had only like warm hot water, gave it the benefit of doubt first time as 11.30 am but still not the 2 nd day, much earlier. All amenities provided are worked by a tablet, not the best thing I’ve ever used, a little temperament. For a last minute booking, it was ok, not sure it would be top of the list when looking again though
- 5/5
Great place!
- 3/5
The hotel itself was very well decorated and the room was very nice including the remote control iPad, but the air conditioning did not work, and the bed sheets were dirty (old blood or color?) I did tell front desk and they came to clean it but our towels were dirty as well. Overall the hotel was nice for the price but there was some issues.
- 5/5
Jim went over and beyond for us. His service and smile are outstanding. He definitely is a reason to return!
