Candlewood Suites Austin Airport by IHG

The entire hotel has a strange odor. It took 5 attempts to program cards in order for us to even access the elevators. When I asked if this is a common problem, I was told that this was the first time this had ever happened, even though the exact same issue happened to the guest just prior to me. The fact that you need a card to even use the elevators speaks to the fact that the area is dangerous.

Beds are comfortable, linens are nice. Lots of space to spread out suitcase / work. Shuttle works well; good driver. I thought breakfast was included, but it wasn’t. (Not this hotel’s mistake though). There is no restaurant at this hotel. But if you walk across the parking lot you can order breakfast at their sister hotel The Holiday Inn. The windows did not keep the constant traffic noise out. AC works good, but it’s loud (like at so many places nowadays).

After calling the front desk, the man on duty went to check the room and found her phone. He then held it at the front desk until we returned to retrieve the phone. All in all, the entire staff was the most gracious and friendly staff. I will stay at the facility again when I'm back in the area. There were no issues with any of the facilities. I have no complaints to report against the property. The property is well maintained.

Everything was awesome 10’s across the board. Staff and property was up to par. The cleaners need a raise one of the most sanitary hotels I’ve been at. The location is about 20 min from downtown which is perfect. Located right by Walmart and fast food places and a liquor store ( I’m from Louisiana so, lol))

Comfortable place to stay near airport. Good value for the money. The area near the airport was a bit "mixed". Lots of new condo/apartment construction - seems to be transitioning from a bit "sketchy" area to modern, new area. But still safe and convenient.

Super clean and neat building and room. Ample towels and products in the bathroom and kitchen. Pool is NOT in the building and is accessed by walking across the parking lot to the other hotel. Pool is outdoors.

Great kitchen with regular fridge/freezer if u want to cook plus dishwasher. Clean room & hotel in general. Excellent staff!

Exactly what we needed for an overnight stay. It is right next to the highway, so you get that noise. But if you’re aware ahead of time, it’s not that bad.

Keep in mind when you book through website they say all fees included BUT we got charged another 6.99 in hotel fees.

The property was very clean, it smelled good and it was very quiet. I stayed there for 10 days and I would gladly stay there again.

Room and staff were great, but being so close to the highway resulted in loud road noise all night long.

My room was beautiful and simple. The only issue I had was listening to freeway traffic as the hotel was on the service road.

Property was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint was what I assume to be a dryer on the other side of the headwall that we could hear buzz loudly through the wall periodically. Probably isn’t an issue for most, but we were attending a mostly nocturnal event and slept through the day.

Arriving at the Candlewood Suites we were told, they have not the room I had a confirmed reservation. They also informed us, that they already transfered us to the Holiday Inn close to the Candlewood. We were not informed ahead and not asked if that is ok. Yes the Holiday Inn gave us a comfortable suite but not with the kitchenette what was a top point for me to do the reservation with Candlewood (I`m sensible to a lot of food and love to do small foods myself).

Everything was great. The only problem was the cleaning product smell was very strong.

I only spent one night, but the bed was comfortable and the air airport shuttle was quick and easy to attain.

They charge $10 for a bottle of water in the little shop in the lobby. Horrendous price gouging.

Hotel and staff were perfect and the room layout was really convenient and spacious for a family of 3. The only recommendation is suggest a room facing away from the highway since it can get pretty loud with trucks/cars.

Staff was very friendly and professional. Property and room seem clean and well kept. Property is close to a busy highway, so there is some noise, but it doesn't seem too bad.

What I found interesting is, despite the air conditioner running while we were there, the moisture level of the unit was high. AC is supposed to bring the moisture level down, which didn't happen.

We stayed one night at the Candlewood prior to an early morning departure from San Antonio airport. The room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed. There is a restaurant across the parking lot so no driving needed. Our only complaint was the highway noise interrupting our sleep but that was the trade-off to be close to the airport. All of the airport hotels are located on the highway so this is not unique to Candelwood. There is a shuttle as well.

Excellent stay for Besame Mucho weekend in Austin! Close to venue and delicious food! Service was excellent at check in, bed was comfortable and water pressure/temp was perfect!

Kelly at the front desk was helpful and a pleasure the other front person when we checked out was less than friendly! Won’t be back but Kelly was exceptional!

Rooms were fantastic! Well equippedkitchen area with a dishwasher. Large bathroom. Clean! Would recommend for a long stay or just overnight on your way to the airport.

We arrived late from a flight, and this place was an excellent place to lay our weary head. Definitely will stay here again.

It was a great experience. Peaceful. Clean. Comfortable. Customer Service was awesome too. Very prompt shuttle to the airport.

Someone was screaming for about 30 min at the top of their lungs. Top of fridge was dirty. Had to leave early for a family emergency and couldn’t get a refund for the nights i stay.

My watch was return to me safe. Much appreciated.

Our flight arrived after midnight, and it was so nice to find a hotel that offered a 24 hour shuttle. The only thing I missed, there was no breakfast offered.

Easy check in. Clean comfortable room with a great kitchenette, has all the necessities. Comfy bed and nice blackout curtains. Conveniently located near the Germania venue. Perfect spot for a quick overnight getaway to Austin

One of the cleanest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s also very safe. You have to use your keycard to enter every room (gym, elevator etc). I will definitely stay here again!

It was a really nice place to stay. The room was very spacious and clean. It felt like being in a nice little apartment. I loved that it had a cook top, full sized refrigerator and a dishwasher.

Was in town for a music festival. The room was nice to recover in before checking out and returning home

We had a room on the freeway side of the hotel and the road noise was pretty loud. We also had a refrigerator that made an obnoxious noise the first couple of nights of our stay. They did send a repair man that was able to fix it. The staff was great and we enjoyed utilizing the gym.

Loved my stay

Clean, comfortable hotel that was very understanding of our desire to see the total eclipse. They allowed us to stay on the property after we checked out so we could see the eclipse.

Also be aware that even though the shuttle says 24/7 you may be in competition with other people. Also the shuttle can only drop at a designated area, not your gate. Just be aware, time wise. Service was great, Kelly at the front desk is a solution oriented person.
