It was an economical, quaint, retro hotel. The bed was very comfortable. But watch out for the tall speed bump!

Granddaughter traveled with us and was scared because you could see out the crack in the door. Just felt uneasy.

Yes, this is in an older part of town and on a noisy road, but our room was surprisingly quiet and very clean and comfortable and everything worked well - we appreciated the large refrigerator. The property itself is very well-kept and the rooms have been renovated but not in any overly plastic way like at a Motel 6. There was good water pressure and drainage in the shower. We're happy we've discovered this place!

Clean rooms, decent amenities like in room coffee, fridge and microwave. Very comfy bed, and low price!

This motel is in an unsafe and unsavory neighborhood. There was a bathtub and various other debris outside our room. It appeared that some of the “guests” were actually residents. We took one look at the mold in the bathroom and left the premises.

Check in was fast easy and pleasant. While the staff is quiet and doesn't say much they are accommodating and effective. Highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the Route 66 Inn in Amarillo basically because we wanted the experience of a bygone era. The person at the front desk (owner or manager) mentioned that it was originally built in the late 70's. That was obvious from the over all appearance and design but it ended there. It had been so well taken care of, restored, whatever you want to call it, - both inside and out - that it was a treat. The experience did not disappoint us. The staff was very friendly and definitely wanted our stay of be positive. Just the thought that this was around in the days when 66 was the Main Street of America gave it even more of an emphasis. In fact we enjoyed our initial stay so much that on our way back home through Amarillo we checked in a second time. I'm sure there will in the future be a third.

This was a complete surprise. Stumbled upon it with no plans, just pulled off the highway at 9PM and got on the phone looking for a place for the night. We were three guys driving from LA to Dallas looking for possibly a room with two beds and a pull-out couch. Found this place with three full size beds, could not have been more perfect. It is an old Route 66 type place that retains it's old caricature, but has been updated where necessary. Very Clean and fresh. Give it a Try, won't be sorry.

We really didn’t feel comfortable there. We ended up going somewhere else. It didn’t feel clean and smelled like pee..

The bed was so comfy, the staff were great. The neighborhood was a little sketchy, but we felt safe and slept well.

The check in was smooth, the room cozy(king size bed) clean well stocked. Speaking of the bed, it was super comfortable! You parked in front of your room, plenty of dining options nearby.

As a blended family of 6 it is always hard for us to find a hotel/motel with a room to accommodate all of us. We loved that this particular room had 3 queen beds. It met our needs perfectly as we were traveling with 5.

Old motel. Powerful cleaning smell upon arrival in room. Eyes watered, coughing etc. slept for 6 hours with windows opened and left. Not a good experience.

The room recently updated to modern fixtures in the bathroom. Spotless! Tiny room but comfortable. The air conditioner kept making popping sounds all night.

We stopped for the evening on a road trip and this motel was perfect! The room was super clean and the bed was comfy! The outside side street is a bit run down, but we felt safe and our car was untouched!

Older property but was well maintained. We only stayed overnight. Clean and plenty of towels. We needed a room with three beds and they had that. Staff was very nice.

The room was very clean but the parking lot was horrendous and the entire property outside smelled of dog feces. There was trash everywhere outside and we did not feel safe.

Didn't spend much time there. Slept well on comfortable beds. The car in the parking lot with flat tire worried us, like someone had stayed for a long time, and did t care. Bad look for the motel. Staff friendly.

The room, refrigerator, microwave and toilet was very clean. The staff was very helpful and gave me ice when machine didn't work. You have to ask in the office for another towel. They only put 3 in the room, but they will give you another, all you need to do is ask. The juice machine in the lobby was not working. Would have been a nice thing to have as half of our party didn't drink coffee. But that's nothing. Loved the room so all was good. Thanks Route 66 Inn!!

It seemed like a sketchy neighborhood but I never felt unsafe. The room was clean and extremely quiet. The owners maintain the property themselves and they very hospitable and helpful.

Perfect spot to stay when you just need to rest and want something clean and safe. Nothing fancy but I appreciated the cleanliness, being able to park right in front of our room and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

What a nice surprise! It’s in a run-down part of town and NOT on historic 66 as the name implies. We almost didn’t check in. The “lobby” was a little dicey. But our room was sparkling clean, had everything we needed and was quiet in spite of being right on the road. Perfect for a quick overnight.

If you don't mind the noisy burner cars ripping through and emergency sirens every so often (and maybe an incidental cricket in the bathroom) this place is a great stop. Clean, spacious and recently renovated, I found it convenient to have the car parked right outside the room as well. Would def stay again.

It was a classic Route 66 motel. The room was very clean and the AC worked great. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. We parked right in front of our door. Don't judge the book by the cover, I'm sure that the outside will be updated soon. I'd definitely stay again. Stayed overnight to catch an early flight. Oh, eat at the Braums just up the street, delicious ice cream sundaes!

Route 66 Inn, what a great stop! A true Rt 66 treasure. Our room was spacious, clean, friendly staff. Area was very safe and clean.. we’d give it a 10 of 10.

The room was great! Bed was very comfortable and the linens were very nice. Parking was tight, but we were in a big truck. Ice macine wasn't working, but staff gave us ice from the office. Very accomodating.

Really good, well-run motel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable with everything in good working order. Parking seems very safe (your car is right outside your room). The single downside is there are a few barking dogs in the neighborhood – obviously not the hotel’s fault. It is only occasional, though, and not a dealbreaker. I liked staying here and would definitely stay again.

Desk clerk was pleasant. Motel is old and tired. But, despite the location, it fit my need for a retro experience to start my Route 66 tour.

It was very nostalgic. The place looked just like the motels I stayed in over 60 years ago! Rooms were well maintained and clean. The AC was a little noisy. But that was the way they were.

The room was super clean and well appointed. My only negatives were that the bed was uncomfortably firm and there needed to be a TV channel list. The TV remote would not change volume and would not pull up a channel guide, so it was impossible to find anything.

Not terrible for the price, but not amazing either. Smelled weird and you could hear every noise outside and from adjoining rooms, but it was clean enough and staff was friendly. Area was kind of seedy feeling.

Unfortunately we had a car accident in Dallas and couldn’t make it to Amarillo. I messaged the property letting then know of our accident. It was after our cancellation window. I believe they may give some refund on the stay. I hope to get back to Amarillo in a few months and definitely will stay at Route 66.

We didn’t stay!! The owner eventually gave us a partial refund of $41 even though we didn’t use the room just opened the door, We wished we hadn’t as that cost us $46 just to find out it was as grim as we expected!

I liked the place. A stay at Route 66 Inn on route 66 was exactly what I was looking for. It was way better than expected. for an older hotel, the rooms were clean, didnt smell, checkin was easy, there wasnt any hidden unexpected charges. I think the owner takes care of the property and does everything on his own as I saw him cleaning rooms when I was checking out. I would stay here again for sure

It was a quiet and clean room. The beds were comfortable! The check in process was so quick and easy. Even gave me a map of the attractions in Amarillo to check out. Gave complimentary pin. The room was clean. Bathrooms clean. For an overnight stay it was perfect! If ever need to stay in Amarillo, will come back.
