Motel 6 Amarillo, TX - West

We didn’t end up staying. The parking lot had active drug use going one, cats every where and just not a safe feeling.

It smelled like cigarettes and didn’t feel very clean

They were in the middle of a remodel, so it was a bit different of a stay, but the rooms were excellent, they allowed my two big dogs with no hesitation, and the staff was absolutely amazing, even when we needed to extend our checkout into later that day! 3:00 pm to be exact! They were incredible! Def will stay there again!

Very dirty, outdated, and bugs

Took one look at room and knew instantly I would not stay. Beds were thin and hard. Orange walls. Kind of a Texas Chainsaw Massacre vibe. Obviously never updated. Paint chipped off outside walls in large chunks. Outside parking lot had at least one Jason wearing a mask, waiting for nightfall. And this place has a 7.2 rating? You’re better off sleeping in a booth at the nearby Waffle House.

The property is in a location that wasn't the most appealing. Few eating options and since it was being renovated, the presentation was just OK. But for one night, it worked. The highlight was the helpfulness of the staff. Kerrie was the desk attendant and she was able to put us in a convenient and clean room. She deserved a 5/5.

Our stay was a pleasant one. We were able to get a good night's sleep.

Very poorly maintained property with dead bugs in the room, stained towels, dirty bedding, apparent prostitute and drug activity, and a bathroom door that had seemingly been kicked at one point and never repaired. Definitely a thrilling stay but not one that I would recommend. Lady at the front desk was nice though.

Whole property was found to be in a state of disrepair. Pool has been filled in with dirt and facilities for it removed. Room had crumbs of a suspicious white crystalline substance on the counter, long hairs on towels, bathroom door was peeling apart from moisture exposure, and all sheets on the bed had cigarette burns. If I had been able to get a refund, I’d have never gotten out of my truck.

Should pay the extra 20 or so for better outcome.

Hotel had roaches in it, towels were small and like sand paper, not sure what was splattered on the ceiling, bathroom ceiling had mold on it, bathroom sink sprayed every where when in use, sheets were holy and covers were thin as sheets. Don't waste your money here.

Fue el único que encontramos para pasar la noche y dormir unas 6 o 7 hrs.. y fue una mala desicion.. la propiedad se veía muy descuidada falta de mantenimiento, el cuarto olía horrible y era no fumadores tuvimos que rociar spray sanitaizer el compresor del refrigerador hacía un ruido terrible que no nos dejaba dormir las camas muy incómodas pero limpias, el baño estaba limpio pero también olía a mucha humedad,. Honestamente no volvería ahí. Sorry

I ended up not staying here because there were people sleeping out front, working on their cars, and I felt very afraid to get out of my car. It looked like a place for homeless vouchers. They refused to refund my money.

The restroom was not clean, I had to go buy cleaning supplies, there were roaches and even after asking for a non-smoking room, it reeked of cigarettes.

Rooms are super small and walls are paper thin. Almost $200 for one night for a 1 star hotel

The reason I gave a two star review was a situation that could have been avoided by proper maintenance of their rooms. In the middle of the night I needed to use the restroom and found the door was locked after I closed it before going to sleep. I called down to the office which they gave me tools to fix it myself. I couldn't fix it. The office lady said she wouldn't mind if I relieved myself outside at a bush or something. Instead I drove around to find a gast station which I found were all closed around 3am. I returned to Motel 6 to ask again if there was a way to use another restroom on the grounds. The lady called the maintenance man whom I met at the room. He opened the bathroom door and problem solved. I don't know why maintenance wasn't called in the first place and as a consequence my quantity of good sleep ended with poor maintenance of a bathroom door knob, door latch, and cracked door jam.

Convenient location. Very run down motel. Room had dead bugs on the floor. Will not stay there again.

The only positive is that they have air conditioning. No amenities. No shampoo. No soap. The bathtub was gross. Would pick somewhere else.

The bed was comfortable. After that all negative, dirty, bugs, literally falling apart, not enough towels, and the ones you get are for children. Only stayed bc we were exhausted.The girl at the desk was very nice.

Best thing about this place was the staff. Friendly and hard working. The overall hotel was rundown, the clientele was noisy, the bedding was worn and had cigarette burn holes throughout. One of the staircases was starting to erode and it was roped off for safety but I don't think anyone tried to avoid it. Probably a law suit waiting to happen . I'd stay elsewhere next time.

Room smelled like cigarettes and poop. There were cigarette burns in in the sheets. People were hanging around the parked cars and caused me concern.

Room was updated and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful at check in/out. Could park right in front of my room. I felt safe in my room and while walking my dog outside. Exterior needs paint but they keep the property clean.

We booked a smoking room and those don't include a refrigerator microwave but we were informed at checkin and that was fine with us because there's one of each in the lobby that are available. The room was not at all updated but it was clean & safe and that's all that mattered. We did need to heat up some food late at night and when I went to the lobby it was locked because it was the overnight shift and before I could say a word, the chick working motioned me over to the window, reached thru and said, "here I got you! How long do you want me to warm it up for?". I was FLOORED. It's those things that really matter to people. From the housekeepers checking if we needed anything even though we were only there 2 nights, to maintenance taking care of the grass on Saturday to keep the property looking presentable, and the lobby helping to receive our DoorDash driver to make sure we got what we had ordered.... Y'all were awesome and we appreciate you being so hospitable during our mini staycation! :)

Floor was dirty because door was not sealed properly. The shower in room 146 looked like something out of the Saw movie. I got moved to a new room. Floor still dirty. Hair on face cloth and a cockroach upon walking in. Needless to say, I did not get a good night sleep. Probably never stay at a Motel 6 again. Update your handicapped rooms, what a disgrace.

The staff was great. My daughters were traveling and they felt safe and it was a great stay and price especially since it was a one night layover. We love the pets stay free policy. Its a 1300 mile trip one way to us and back. Places like this make it so much easier. Thank you!

The room and bath were clean. The queen bed was very comfortable. The office staff were especially helpful and eager to help, as I chose a disabled access room. The housekeeping employees were friendly and helpful as well.

The woman who was working the desk when I checked in, was great. The lady working the desk in the early morning hours, wasn’t as great. I’m still waiting for my receipt that should have been sent to me automatically.

The staff was friendly, it was clean and quiet. They offered free coffee in the mornings. This was the best stay our whole trip.

My stay was okay but had a few issues. There’s no parking for semis with trailers, which was inconvenient. I requested extra towels and only received one. The water pressure was very weak, which made the shower unsatisfying. Overall, could use better service and basic amenities.

Bed comfort

Nice bed in a room that had been thoroughly cleaned except for the floor. The bottoms of feet and socks turn black. The bathroom is showing its age but was clean.

Many food options near by. GPS gets a tad confused getting you there initially, but easy to find afterwards.

Outside was dirty in parking area (grass strips). Convenient location and happy that I could have my dog with me. 👍😊

The Bed is as hard as a brick. Very uncomfortable. I have slipped better on the ground in a tent.

I stay at Motel 6 because they are dog friendly in most cases.

This motel room had to have been one of the top most filthiest places I've ever seen in my life! The walls one more dirty than the floors! Everywhere your eyes can turn walls and floor has some kind of substance or splatter on it. The top blanket was absolutely filthy and I know for a fact that had not been washed in a very long time. So you're leaving right away I staff to wash it wish they did and returned it and that was the best part of the whole stay is that they a blast her request. Even after that I did not sleep with the blanket I am thankful I brought my own. In every corner there was dust and particles accumulating. The toilet was a nightmare and the shower and bathtub filthy along with cigarette burn marks all over and in it. I had read reviews on Google regarding this Mattel but was sadly mistaken but if they were not correct reviews at all. I do not recommend this motel to anybody!

The lady at the front desk was very nice she showed me on the map where the room was. Very good lady. Dog friendly of coarse. I had two dogs. Bags in dog area stocked no issue. You got some oil field/pipeline boys there not to friendly that's ok they dont get respect they deserve but ill give them the respect i know it a labor intensive job. It was just an overnight stay but ill be back next trip. Convenient store .04 miles up the road.

Wasn’t to happy there the bed wasn’t comfortable the hot water didn’t stay hot and very trashy around the motel.

Hotel was in a great location, close to everything. The service was great, the room was clean. Easy check in and check out. The only down fall was the shower pressure was not there. The building does look to need some exterior remodel and there was homeless people in the parking lot. They did not bother us. Other than that, our stay was pleasant.

Expedia said the had 3 rooms available of 1 king bed. I walked into motel 6 and she said she didn’t have not even 1 available and now can not get my money back

The staff was very friendly and it was nice to have a fridge. Inexpensive. My bed and pillows had hair in it, so I slept in my sleeping bag with my travel pillow. There were huge roaches inside my room and outside, floor was dirty. I had to clean the handles and switches.
