The carpet in the room is kinda dirty and so wet and the shower curtain is too thin, the hook is broken, toilet paper is super thin and had holes. The entrance floor of the swimming pool is very slippery. The front desk is very quiet and not friendly at all.

The jacuzzi, which we specifically looked for when booking this trip, was cold and broken. At check out , I mentioned this to the desk clerk and all she said was “Well, You’re third party.” I asked her to explain and she said that since we booked through somewhere else we would need to contact them about it. No apology no other comment, except that we were “3rd party” and that’s it. It was odd, rude, and unprofessional. For people who don’t care about service, the room was comfortable.

The absolute best mattress at a hotel in recent experience. Just had issue with the listing about breakfast. If it's listed in the amenities then I assumed it would be included. Many years ago every holiday inn I stayed at always included free breakfast. However this one was listed as "Breakfast served daily". When we checked in, we learned that breakfast was not included in the room price, but was available for $15 a person. For nearly the same room price the Hampton gave free breakfast. Disappointed that the vocabulary used on Expedia allows that to be confused.

The breakfast was too expensive for what was offered. That breakfast should be included in the room as a default not an add on or it should be upgraded significantly to pay for the $15 fee being charged.

Someone's dog puked in the elevator, they gave the dog owner a couple napkins to clean it up but did not use cleaner or disinfectant. Front staff didn't seem to care and 10-bucks for breakfast is fine but just include that coat with the room. Other than that it was clean.

The property was nice and clean. The food attendant was amazing! She welcomed everyone who came to breakfast. She refilled coffee for elderly people. She made sure everything was full. At one point a grandmother and her grand daughter came in at the very last minute. She had stated that they had come in after 1 am. The front desk morning girl was rude and indifferent. She told her she was too late. The breakfast attendant came over and told the front desk lady that they were fine to come have breakfast! She was wonderful as was the evening lady the evening we got there. I am thoroughly upset that a higher end hotel did not have security. We were moving our son and his family back to New Mexico. We had a U-Haul with a tow trolley. We were told to park around back which we did. It was broken in to that night, Our suitcases were stolen (3) in which diamond earrings were in one. My son, with Down Syndrome, had a suitcase with special clothes and products he needed. His brand new specially made wheelchair was damaged as they walked on it. My brand new grand baby's stroller and crib were taken. One Smart TV was taken while the other one was kicked in in the back. When reporting it to the same rude front desk lady, she uncaringly dismissed it stating they did not have security or cameras in the back and there wasn't anything they could to. We called the police and even though there were footprints and handprints, they wouldn't come out. They just took a report. We stayed at a Holiday Inn in Saint Louis, where they were exceptional, kind, and had security. I called specifically to check on security before booking and it was confirmed, We are so upset that this property didn't care, take a report, or offer any kindness during this duress!

They also went out of their way to stash our cooler of freshly caught crappie in their commercial freezer after an unexpected delay left us worried about our fish thawing. That's above and beyond by any measure. Rooms were very clean and the beds were genuinely comfortable. The indoor pool was a hit with the kids, and impressively the water was refreshingly cold even though the pool area itself was warm on a nearly 100 degree Amarillo day. Perfect combination for stressed out kids stuck in a city they didn't plan to be in. Would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone passing through Amarillo.

Freeway noise is significant, and without the promise of an accessible pool we would not have chosen to stay on the scrappier east end of Amarillo. Breakfast bar is a decent deal at $10, with very friendly breakfast staff. Room is fine, a bit of damage to walls that is par for the course, but good spaces around beds for wheelchair mobility.

Didn’t like that you had to pay for breakfast, but whatever, we were there for the pool. The pool was adequate, but apparently if the doors aren’t propped open the fire alarm goes off. I don’t understand why hotels that claim to be family friendly have barn doors that barely close let alone lock for the bathroom door. I’m not a fan. Also, the breakfasts have always been complimentary at holiday inn but this location charges and the actual buffet is the exact same as all other locations. So that seemed like a rip off. Room wasn’t as clean as we would have liked. Crumbs under a table. Food under the pull out couch. Normally holiday inn is a go to for me but I found this one to be under standards.

The city shut down the pool and hot tub, which sucked, because that's why we booked this hotel. The "restaurant" only had pizza for an option for food. We received paper plates, plastic forks and knives that wouldnt even cut the pizza. Never had an experience like this and we travel a lot. On a good note. The gentleman that checked us in was very nice and the rooms are nice.

Great hotel except VERY poor lighting in the bathroom. The back lighting around the bathroom mirror was barely on, making putting on makeup nearly impossible. Only 2 well-lit areas: the bathtub and the entry way, which had no mirror.

My only issue is that breakfast was not included with my stay. Had I known this I would have stayed elsewhere. The breakfast was no different than any other hotel that would have had it included in the cost of staying there. It was definitely not worth the extra $10 a person. Its my fault for not checking when I made the booking.

This property served its purpose as a road trip overnight stop, but I think there are others nearby that are better (like the Hampton Inn next door). We initially had to move rooms because the thermostat and toilet were broken. Though the pool and hot tub were functioning, our kids were disappointed because the door to the pool broke so we couldn’t swim. They also charge for breakfast that is comparable to other hotels where it is free. Our room faced the highway and was a bit loud, but the beds were comfortable. Overall, it is clean, safe, and has a mini mart, laundry, and a bar. The staff was very responsive, kind and helpful. It is also walking distance from Big Texan.
